Romulus APUSH Review App

Romulus US History is a quiz-based application of iOS devices designed to help students review for exams in US History, such as AP US History and IB History of the Americas, as well as for unit tests and mid-term exams. Our goal in designing this program is to allow students to reinforce their content knowledge in a fun, quick and accessible way. This app contains over 800 review questions with topics ranging from the Native Americans and Colonization to the Cold War and Contemporary America. All questions have been written or reviewed by Tom Richey, a teacher with several years of experience teaching AP US History. In order to best provide quick, accessible explanations to students, the app utilizes external links that allow students to quickly review content when needed. AP, Advanced Placement Program, and College Board are registered trademarks of the College Entrance Examination Board, which was not involved in the production of, and does not endorse, this product.

Romulus APUSH Review app reviews

  • A Bit Helpful but not really necessary. 3/5

    By Bending Danny
This app is very much like quizlet and the good part is that it’s fast and quick to help you learn info. However, the questions aren’t in the AP multiple choice format. There are no true or false questions on the exam, but many of the questions in the app have this format. Adding real prep multiple choice questions from practice APUSH exams would be really helpful so students can have a basic idea of the format. Other than that, I was that the app was organized into the different periods which was helpful. Also the option of looking at info regarding your wrong answer really helped. I would recommend this app.
  • Not a stimulus based app, but incredibly useful 5/5

    By Poppa Hogue
A lot of people give this app a hard time because they think it’s meant to give stimulus based questions, but it’s not. However, it is perhaps the most useful tool I had for the exam since it helped me identify what time periods I needed to brush up on #letsgetthisbread

    By Dr. Rob McKenna
This app looks helpful yes. I was looking for help with reviewing for the AP US history exam and I found this app to help review. PLEASE DONT BUY IT. This app is a multiple choice review app and the bad part is that it asks questions that are too specific and not helpful in studying concepts and events that will be in the AP exam. It will ask a question about who passed a certain bill which is not helpful compared to a question that helps you review what the act actually is. I would NOT recommend this app. Don't waste your time and money on this app when you could be using other resources to study that are actually helpful. One last time DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I am genuinely triggered after buying this app.
  • Use quizlet 2/5

    By apush peep
Decent app because it gives you information if you get it wrong but I was expecting better. It’s very similar to quizlet but quizlet is free therefore BETTER. Just use quizlet don’t waste your money it’s not that good!!!
  • Just not relevant 1/5

    By Jsvssbjzdgakdnjx
You’re never EVER going to see questions like this on an ap test. EVER.
  • Pretty Bad for a Study App that costs $2 1/5

    By DerekSmokesReggie
It’s literally just a different way to study off Wikipedia. Does not help with studying for the ap test. Bad coding, nothing is very good about this app. 👎👎👎👎👎
  • Awesome, just needs more 5/5

    By Isaac_low
Wish the app could receive DBQ questions to answer. Or just sample questions for APUSH students. Great for keeping up in class
  • Nice review app 5/5

    By bdadams21
I absolutely love this app. I understand that the types of questions are not exactly what's on the exam, but I'm able to quickly review so many content questions in a short amount of time. My goal in purchasing this app was to familiarize myself with as many key concepts as rapidly as possible. I'm using this app with a plethora of video reviews from Tom Richey, Hip Hughes and Daniel Josz.
  • An app for all ages! 5/5

    By Aunt Eliza
I graduated high school a very long time ago, but Romulus has improved my jeopardy game exponentially!! Thanks Romulus!
  • Almost completely effortless 5/5

    By Johnny Deing
As a parent of a teenager, you often worry about the preparation your child will have for these kind of exams, but when I took my family to the local golden coral last night, my son was glued to his phone (like all teenagers), and when I asked him to put it away he blew my mind with,” dad, I’m studying for my a.p. exam with this app.” He showed me the screen and I almost fell out of my chair. I really think he’s ready to put a five on it.
  • Not similar to APUSH 1/5

    By Free 5000!
The questions are nowhere close to the kinds of stimulus questions that we’ve actually done all year. These are just garbage wikipedia references. Do. Not. Buy.
  • Martha 1/5

    By Marthaoncrack
Bruuuuh this was false advertising at its finest, not organized at all when it comes to retaining memory, just a bunch of questions that all to it, And it’s not even in AP style format the source was trash (was Wikipedia) 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
  • WORST APP 1/5

    By Handbsnsn
  • Many Typos, Not Reliable 2/5

    By OnwardAoshima
There are so many typos! This is supposed to be a useful source but instead it says that WWI started when WWII did. Along with many other issues. Please fix the typos so I can learn actual facts.
  • Great App 5/5

    By SmithGamer
This app helped me so much and and it got me a five on the AP exam!!!!!!!! GET THIS APP
  • not worth it 1/5

    By Alliekatninja
the app is honestly just too expensive for what it's worth, i could get just as much information (if not more) from looking through a few quizlets for free. i like the idea of the app, but i definitely don't think it's worth the $4
  • Great app 5/5

    By Get COC instead.
This app really has helped me review the curriculum by asking many trivia questions. This was a great way for me to find out what I didn't quite know and truly made me feel prepared for the exam as a great study tool.
  • Not even AP style questions 2/5

    By OPCMD
This app asks very arbitrary and trivia-like questions, nothing like what is on the AP exam. Not worth 5 dollars AT ALL, and the layout doesn't lend itself to actual learning or studying. Avoid this one and learn from the book or review books.
  • Maybe some reformation needed 3/5

    By T.K. Gamer
So, a lot of this is good. It goes over vocab, policies, presidents' and eras' quirks, and dates, but a big problem for me is that it goes over battles. The AP test really doesn't care about the battles and wars, just the effects they bring. So maybe the questions need some work, but it's an okay source, even though it's ultimately one I would not use to replace textbooks.
  • Not like AP questions at all 1/5

    By carsen10
This seems like a generic trivia app, and the questions are pretty much just a general overview. If you get a question wrong, the app just links you to a wikipedia page. I could've done that for free.
  • Amazing 5/5

    By Anthony cheros
I absolutely love this app!!! Forget quizlet or a tutor, this is the way to go. I normally fall behind in my history class, but ever since I got this app I have been climbing ever since, now I am one of the highest scorers on test in my class. This is definitely the best $3.99 I've ever spent by far. I am gonna go into the class room with confidence on EOC day now. I thank whoever the brilliant mind was behind this app for creating it. It has simplified studying for me and made it so simple.
  • Weird questions 2/5

    By Awaw855
Some of the questions on this are really helpful to review, but the majority are oddly specific and/or strange to be asked, such as having to answer the fractions slaves were worth under the 3/5 compromise. I also wish there was a way to save the questions you get wrong so you can review.
  • Not what it's cracked up to be. 3/5

    By BlameHoran
There are good questions but it doesn't let you go back and look at what you missed and from which time period or what not. It's just not worth the money when there are other apps for better.
  • Not an AP review app 1/5

    By Bandbox cn
Frankly, the branding of "AP Review" is blatantly false advertising. I knew within the first three questions that this is more of a trivia app than anything remotely useful for the APUSH test.
  • Not as interactive as I would've hoped. 3/5

    By Graysonmartin12345
The app is great for exposing you to tons of different multiple choice questions, but it lacks the function of telling you why the answer you picked was wrong.
  • Helpful teacher-written content 5/5

    By TeachTeach
This app is helpful for students reviewing for the APUSH exam because it's written by an experienced (and current) APUSH teacher. I recommend it!
  • Excellent App for Review 5/5

    By AP teacher WNY
As an AP teacher, I'm always looking for new ways to help my students review. This App does an outstanding job of helping students prepare for the AP US exam and I highly recommend it.
  • Great content review 5/5

    By Haksbiawna
I love this app because it's a great on the go study method. Some of the information is excessive, but I kinda like it due to the extra information (context or evidence) you can input when you are writing your DBQ. I also enjoy the link to the wiki to put the time period and definition all in order to understand the answers thoroughly. It also makes you realize your strengths and weaknesses. I highly recommend this app.
  • Super for filling in details 5/5

    By Hiheelmom5
My students SRQs have improved from using this app! It's a must!
  • Awesome app for quick review 5/5

    By APUSH Addict
Romulus is a really quick and easy app to review information. I definitely recommend downloading it.
  • Not enough 1/5

    By swaggyp234568
The questions would be good for a student studying a unit test, but for the AP test, it's just not enough. There's no AP styled questions and it feels like I'm taking an academic level quiz. They need to improve on giving the app user actual questions that would be on the AP test. Be cautious of spending money on this app.
  • Not a Fan 2/5

    By Nick2357753146764235631
I don't like how it links you to a wikipedia page when you get it wrong
  • Not helpful enough 2/5

    By JJ123JJJJ
Honestly the questions are pretty irrelevant sometimes and they're not styled like the APUSH tests. It makes you try every answer until you get the right one and it has random trivia about unimportant people or events. Def. not worth $5. :(
  • It's not bad 3/5

    By Mustache Kid
I wish I got more time to study the questions I answered, so stuff could sink in more. And for really just getting a lift of questions you may be better off using a quizlet someone made online, so maybe lower the price. It's not a bad app, but for what you are paying, it's not good either and doesn't help as much as I was hoping it would.
  • Yep 5/5

    By I am. Thank you.
    Good stuff...
  • Not worth it AT ALL 2/5

    By Coolman1323
This app would be maybe worth $.99 but Even then i wouldnt buy again. Its just practice questions that miss out on a ton of major topics.
  • APUSH Romulus 5/5

    By Blond moment12
This is one of the best review apps out there. Definitely worth the $5.99. It is really good to review concepts and divides the questions into different eras on the test.
  • APUSH Romulus 5/5

  • It's okay... 3/5

    By APUSH Struggles
If you get an answer right it quickly changes to the next one which isn't really helpful if you guessed. Also the "helpful source" it gives you if you don't know is Wikipedia. At this point I need all the help I can get to review, but the app isn't amazing, or really worth $5, but at this point, I'm desperate.
  • Way to go! 5/5

    By Trpon243
Romulus is a nice and simple app that is easy to use and fun for students to play and review on the go. My students were interested when I showed them how to use it. Overall, a great tool for students and teachers alike!
  • Best APUSH content on the Internet 5/5

    By Wilplatypus
Tom Richey has by far the best resources on the Internet! Romulus US 10/10
