There a catch 1/5
To be honest this app is really cool and fun to use but if your actually serious about finding a place or someone to fill a place it gonna cost you and it not even cheap 7.99 a WEEK that’s about 32 a month this app should rethink messaging for a penny this app no longer useful once you put that ridiculous price on it thanks for making me waste my time downloading.
FRAUD !!! 1/5

Money Thief - Download At Your Own Risk 2/5
By London Moore
I’ve used this app 2 separate times looking for roommates. I’ve never found anyone on here that actually worked out - but I believe that’s mainly because the app nickel + dimes you for 🥁🥁🥁 2-WAY COMMUNICATION 🙀🤯 So you can view all the potential roommates you want ANNND you can even message them to let them know you’re interested (lucky us🥂).
Here’s the kicker: If THEY haven’t upgraded - they’ll never be able to read your message. If they have upgraded and message you back - then YOU won’t be able to read their message until you upgrade as well. So for the most part it’s just a bunch of ONE WAY CONVERSATIONS that Roomster is getting paid for.... because like a dumb-dumb, I upgraded both times because I actually wanted to find a roommate.
I then tried to delete my subscription once we had found someone elsewhere and their “24/7 live support” was the most unprofessional “help” I’ve ever seen. I asked how to cancel my subscription and they said repeatedly told me to contact Apple to assist me... How can an app with a help line not be able to help the most basic of questions?! I asked again for simple instructions and I was sent back a link - clicked the link and it took me to Roomster’s product page Amazon... So I told the Support line how frustrated I was with the situation and their lack of help and did my best to delete anything associated with Roomster.
Turns out... it still wasn’t enough and I just found out they have been charging me for the past 5 weeks! Thank God my husband is tech savvy and figured out how to delete the subscription piece.
I will never use this app again.
I will never recommend this app to anyone I know.
I honestly will go out of my way to share how disappointing this app is...
I get that apps have bugs and development kinks - but the very least a paying customer expects is basic support from the freaking support line.
Truly the worst. Have never left a review before - but this was worth writing if it saves other people from watching their money get sucked down the drain while the app company won’t tell you how to cancel 👌
They sent a message via their app message telling me they would renew the contract after 5 days and charge me 24.95. It’s a scam. Don’t sign up. I called my bank and they are filing a claim.
Please don't install this app 1/5
So disappointed with this app.
Overpriced for as many problems as I have with messages. I get invalid message warnings a lot and sometimes I just can’t even see the messages.
Filled with scammers 1/5
By Jewellee K
I thought that by paying $7.99 a week that would cut out the scammers. But they are still here!! They are just not paying the $7.99 and are asking for contact through email and text instead of through the app. I get a crapload of scammy messages everyday asking me to email them personally because they have a room to rent. Maybe you should not have the free version...
Shuts down 2/5
Every time i needed to go back to modify something on my listing, it would erase everything and make me start over! Now that I finally got through that section, Whenever I close the app it logs me off and makes me go through the logging-in-through-Facebook process (which takes forever) and then the app never re-loads again. The screen either goes blank white or has the little green house loading screen. It’s very frustrating!!! Especially since I have received emails from possible roommates and I can’t log on to reply!
seems like a great app, i created a Facebook account just to use it. now it won’t let me view ads, frustrating because i need to find a room ASAP.
Took a while but worth it 4/5
I was able to find a roommate from this app. The fact that it allows you to connect with that person via social media was a large plus. The interface is basic and easy to use. If you’re looking for a roommate, give it Time. People will reach out eventually! Good app overall.
I am very satisfied with Roomster. 5/5
By Isidore Garcia
I am very satisfied with Roomster. I really gave me lots of amazing experiences. I have ever used Roomster a few times. And all the times, it works very well, I can find out good places for myself.
By Erasmus Anderson
Roomster is an awesome app that helps to find choice-able rooms & nice, clean, responsible roommates around the world. Fantastic!
Glitch with the backwards arrow. Also it would be nice if people had to give a neighborhood location rather than just a city location and mandatory photos
Finds ways to take more money from you 2/5
By Casali Asedra
We had read some bad reviews of this app and how they refuse to refund money, and how people have even been charged amounts even after they cancel their subscription. We were very hesitant. And for a long time avoided paying for the full service. But eventually we decided to give it a try. Hoping that the bad reviews were just from bitter people or had some reasonable explanation.
On the app itself it says it charges you just under $8 for 7 days use. And that’s the option we went for. We were going to cancel our subscription on day 6 so we wouldn’t get charged again. Then 5 days in we get charged $24 for a new months subscription. Apparently when we opted to pay via PayPal it was $8 for only 5 days. It makes no sense why different payment options would lower the amount of time you get to use the app. Why they would make these differences bewilders me.
I tried to contact them but they refused to provide a number to talk to a real human being, so the only way to contact him is through their help and support page on the app itself, I have no idea if I was speaking to a real person or a bath, but sometimes the responses made no sense whatsoever, but to cut a long story short they refused to help at all. Even after I was willing to pay an additional eight dollars for going over the five days but I asked if they would refund the remainder of the $24 they refused and proceeded to give me non sensical responses that sounded bot-like.
I highly regret using this app. And wouldn’t recommend it. Rather use Facebook groups that have people seeking rooms.
Complete junk app 1/5
They charge 7.99 a week to communicate, but all the messages are complete junk. I hate myself for being baited into paying again only to receive messages like “1 couple, 1 bedroom” and “Looking for room in Monmouth County NJ, preferably Middletown, Lincroft, Leonardo near Brookdale CC”. My listing is in Brooklyn, NY and says nothing about couples. People just spam message BS. Complete trash, do not pay for this.
DO NOT sign up for the $7.99 for 7 days trial. I received “messages” that were from spam accounts possibly created my Roomster to wheel you in the subscription. I was not able to view the fake message (which stated “message deleted” & the profile had blurry fake images) until I subscribed. I unsubscribed immediately and contacted Roomster customer service, who was absolutely terrible with information, who stated it is non refundable even though I had the subscription for less than 2 minutes. What a joke.
Roomster has a lot of houses for rent and I can choose the best one for me and my friends. I will recommend it to students as me who looking for a home or a room to live. Cool!

I've used Roomster to find a roommate. It helped me a lot in doing that. It has friendly interface and also is easy to use. Love it very much!
This site is are fraud 1/5
Worst customer service they have. They misrepresent the cost, say your only paying for limited time ($7.95 for x days) then bam! $24.95. They don’t have real customer service number. You just get automated reply. They are just scammers. Never use this site.
App is a total scam.
Horrible app 1/5
I cannot even save pictures on the app or the website. Might want to learn how to code an app.........
So convenient to use 5/5

So convenient to use Roomster to find private room. Just search on this app and lots of results will be shown for you to choose. Then decide to choose the one that you like best and contact with the owner of the post to get more information. LOVE!!!
Giving 5 stars! 5/5
By Diggory Allen
Through Roomster, I can easily find some accommodations which are very suitable with my requirements and my condition. Giving 5 stars!
In my opinion, Roomster is one of the best ones helping you to look for rooms. With it, you will be able to have good rooms just in a short time. Great!
By Theophilus Martinez
One of the most useful apps that I have ever got on my iPhone. With Roomster, everything seems so easy to me. Now I don’t have to worry much about finding the apartment anymore. And it is always the first place to get helped.
It is very reliable 5/5
If you are want to change your accommodation, you should get help from Roomster. It is very reliable and I am really satisfied with it. Cool!
Roomster is the best app 5/5
Roomster is easy to use. I just logged-in with my Facebook account and search, and it's so easy when I found an apartment that I love in a few minutes.
Quirky App 2/5
Definitely lacking in logical and practicality. The “mail” tab, if by chance someone sent you an email where would you find it?
WHAT A SCAM 1/5
I’m not one to write reviews but I feel like it’s my duty to warn people about this bs app. One, they post fake ads on Craigslist. You message someone about a room, you get a reply from someone saying that they’re the owner of a house and you just have to apply through a link they provide and you’ll get the room. The link directs you to Roomster to download the app. You think, "Great, we’ll I might get this room and if not there’s all these other options" WRONG. That room doesn’t exist and you’re left looking at other overpriced places. Half the people don’t message you back, the other half won’t stop messaging you. It’s a mess. Anyway, I paid for a weeks worth of access and it was a waste of money. After a day of using it I realized it was a scam but continued to use it just incase by some miracle I found something. No dice. Don’t waste your time or money, especially if you’re already stressed about finding somewhere to live.
Won't let me search 1/5
Every time I try to look for something it just says you must choose an address after I have already put one in
Needs some work 2/5
Off the bat, the app automatically renews payments after the 5 day trial. Roomster was unwilling to grant a refund / cancellation after I contacted them the day of the renewal... seems a bit shady to me.
The app could also use some work, as you aren’t able to read messages unless you have an active listing. The meant I had to create fake listings after my room had been rented so that I could see previous chat history with prospective tenants.
All in all, I would stick to craigslist or Facebook when seeking housing options
WASTE OF MONEY 1/5
I paid for the week subscription, I continually get notifications of s message just to check my inbox and see (message removed). Not only that, it’s hard to get in contact with people. Don’t waste your time or money in this app.
Must have Facebook 1/5
Requires Facebook 🤦🏻♀️ There isn’t the option to sign in with an email. I deleted this app as quickly as it downloaded.
Just stupid. 1/5
The 7.99$ WEEKLY fee is insane. That’s 32$ a month. Also, when u full out your profile your answering the same questions for than once, so I’m not really sure what is being asked. User interface is far from intuitive. Drop the weekly fee.
Stole my money then blocked my account! 1/5
By Insta reviewer 2
I signed up for the app because I am looking for an apartment in L.A I payed $7+ for the 5 day hoping to see if it works. I have been sending out messages that say “Hi ___name___ I saw your room and was wondering if it is still available, and if so could I set up a time to come view your apartment?”
Some people wrote back and if it ended up being something I wasn’t looking for I would write back and thank the people for getting f back to me.
Now I get up this morning to find out some one reported me for no reason and Roomster has “deleted” or blocked my account out of the blue... no warning no explanation.. I have tried to find a way to contact them but you have to have an account to contact them but I can’t log into my account so I can’t contact them.. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!
I also now have to watch my bank account to make sure they don’t keep charging me
Too many fake accounts 1/5
This app is horrible. Not surprised by another bad roommate finder app. I have received messages from people just to find out they were fake accounts. Nobody responds to any messages you send. The messages you get initially are mostly bots. I’ve had this app for two weeks now, paid $16 so far and still haven’t had one decent chance to get a roommate. You’re better off posting your room on Craigslist than paying for this app weekly.
Terrible Customer Service 1/5
I listed a room for rent, and reach out to potential prospects with a copied and pasted message referring to my room that was available for rent. One day after signing up I was banned with no explanation other than I was harassing other users. I sent one message to each person that I thought would qualify for my room just because I need to get out of my apartment ASAP for personal reasons.
I tried contacting Roomster for clarification as to why I was banned. They did not respond. I tried contacting them and second and third time, no response. Terrible customer service. If you’re listing housing DO NOT DO IT HERE.
Straight scam 1/5
By Eddy fruit
Lost over $300. I’d probably sue but I don’t have the time to for that 😡
TERRIBLE FUNCTONALITY 1/5
As per my title, this app needs some major work done in terms of its functionality. Super disorganized and hard to navigate. Seriously, do NOT waster your time with this app.
When it comes to looking for apartments or rooms in California, this app will present you with the most scammers out of all the renting apps. About 8 out of ever 10 person you get in contact with will be a scammer.
Party for Scammers!! 1/5
Every listing that seemed too good to be true - was exactly that! These listings do seem normal and almost too realistic, but then the scammer asks for your email to send more about themselves & the room. I had 2 different girls, email me the same exact bio (word for word). I had another scammer on here, refusing to give me a meet up time, yet kept mentioning how I should at least transfer her money for the deposit, as there were a lot of people pestering her for the room. All loads of crap.
I have never written a review about an app, so for me to go out of my way to write this one... just know how serious & sketch all of this is.
This app needs to run background checks, if they're really going to force people to spend $8 a week, $32 a month, just to be scammed out of more money!! Maybe Roomster is developing these fake profiles, to scam more money out of people- screw that, & screw this app.
By Scarllee Peterson
Before getting helped, everything seemed so tiring, I took up lots of time but I couldn’t still find out anywhere good to hire. Then I got Roomster, and so fast to get a new one. Amazed!
Full of scammers 1/5
The app has more scammers than actual people. They barely vet any of the people advertising on their platform. Be careful if someone asks for a deposit or if they ask for your email to send you pictures then ask you to wire any money.
Additionally, the app’s support is unhelpful.
I deleted my account because the app was useless and still got charged twice after that. I reached out to support and all they did was send me links on how to cancel and tell me that I had to cancel through my apple id account as well when on the app itself.
Total scam!!!!! 1/5
They just want your credit card info and keep charging you by the month! Don’t waste your time or money!!!!!
Love Roomster! 5/5
I love that apartment list matches me with apartments that I know will be within my budget and in the location I want. I also like that they send me new information on apartments I haven't looked at - especially price changes. Love it so much!
