  • It’s good, but I hope it starts teaching what I don’t already know 5/5

    By jbopharsh
It is a really good app, I think that it is geared more towards those whom are just starting off and not quite as much for those who already know quite a bit. I have taken 3 college courses on Spanish so I already know most of what has been taught, but still want to know more. Regardless of what stage of learning you are currently at, I would still suggest this over any other apps or websites
  • More languages to add 5/5

You all should teach how to speak patois (patwah)
  • Great Language Course! 4/5

    By Swizzle my nuzzle
Love this! It’s very interactive and helpful in learning a new language! I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to study a new language.
  • Better 3/5

    By pmperry
Better than it used to be as far as pricing goes, but it’s now a subscription, so it’s not great. I used to use Duolingo, but they switched their model to a subscription too, so I dropped that one as well. Overall, this is probably the best of these tools, but software as a service is a really bad idea for everyday users.
  • I love this app 3/5

    By Ian12345354366
This is an app with a lot of potential, but it also needs a lot of improvement. I love using this app, and I feel that I have learned very well using it. I have finished about 8/20 of the Spanish (Latin America) units, and completed all of the “personalized lesson plans” from beginner to proficient. Overall my experience has been good, but there is a lot to improve, especially with the voice recognition and any spoken exercises. Another issue is some interesting translations, for example, something like ‘Soy rubia’ being translated as ‘I have blonde hair’, though it would be more intuitive and accurate to say ‘I am blonde’. Though RS doesn’t want people focusing on reading translations, this way the learner could differentiate better between ‘tener’ and ‘ser’. Just a little note for everyone reading, I’ve focused on Spanish, but have also dabbled in some other languages, and have noticed that some languages don’t offer translations. I’m assuming that is something that will be added at a later time. Finally and most importantly, after completing all of the lesson plans, my Units were missing lessons in between that I had to go back to complete. And once you complete, the entire ‘home’ page of the app is obsolete, just bringing me back to the completed lesson, and asking me to choose another despite there not being any. I really liked how smooth the lessons were with the audio companions and stories sprinkled throughout the units, but now I am a bit more directionless. I can still manage to complete everything but it is not as smooth going. Also, the units are extremely repetitive with little to no variation between pictures and phrases from one exercise to the next until the next chapter, that could be vastly improved. Anyways, thanks for the great app. I highly recommend it. P.S. there are frequent updates, which is always a good sign of a developing app.
  • Cannot Download lessons Offline 3/5

    By KJ U of U
I bought this so I can study on the road and in between classes when I’m without wifi. Every time I click download offline, the app force closes. Please update the app so it doesn’t crash, iOS, 14.01. I know this will probably get buried in the thousands of reviews but if you could please fix this issue. I will update my review once fixed. It would also be great if you could add a writing feature since writing Chinese characters is a very important part of learning the language. Thank you for your help.

RS is best app so far for the learning languages. I mastered my previous knowledge of French, German, Italian and Spanish. I’m successfully learning Japanese and Chinese. With so much ease of access and logic learning there is no better app. Looking forward to complete and jump to next one.
  • Font very small 1/5

    By Chet2018
Don’t get if you need larger font! Hard to see & use unless you are stationary and with the screen close to your face. VERY SMALL pictures, wording and icons - really! You can only use it in horizontally. App settings very inflexible (non-existent).
  • Lacking 1/5

    By BNiceNAruba
Definitely not my favorite language learning app. I have to constantly figure out what I’m supposed to be doing and where to go. I need a refund. It’s horrible.

I have family in Finland, can you add Finnish to your list?
  • In app purchase did not work 2/5

    By basilbk
As much as I love the ease and accessibility of the Rosetta Stone program, the App needs reworking. I purchased their full access in the app, which showed up in my apple purchases and on my bank statement, but even after trouble shooting from both Rosetta Stone and Apple, was not able to access my full access and had to be refunded.
  • Just a thought 4/5

    By YouKnow...ThatGirl
Right now I’m learning Japanese to go to Japan in a few years I usually pick things up pretty fast but I feel like the app should do more things to teach you how to read and write different hard languages and maybe some flash cards other than that I really love Rosetta Stone
  • Muy buena app 5/5

  • Having the lessons on your phone/tablet is great 5/5

I have and older version of Japanese on my computer, but having lessons on my phone is so much more convenient.
  • There's a reason so many companies and agencies insist on this product 5/5

    By AubreyRLopez
So: I dabbled in language learning for over 20 years... all kinds of methods. This has (by far) been the most effective. I finally invested in Rosetta Stone over 10 years ago when online learning wasn't an option for them yet (and after using their program for a college course). I then sprung for the online. I was officially sold on their first big sale for Veterans (at which time i took the plunge and got the lifetime online membership, for less than i paid for the original 6 CD package i purchased years ago). Since then: they have made AMAZING IMPROVEMENTS to the software and opened up more languages. My only complaint is about the app: it can get glitchy (doesn't recognize audio, doesn't update lessons as completed, trivial issues that correct themselves with some "tough love")... but if I force close the app then the issue resolved. Tech support is responsive, as well! I love their product and highly recommend giving it a try to see if it is a good fit for your learning style! (Also: ensure you join an individual coaching subscription or a social group to get one-on-one real world conversational experience/practice. Rosetta Stone offers this option, but I do not have my laptop/desktop set up for use currently)

    Good stuff!!
  • Great tools, some bugs 4/5

    By F1shbulb
I like learning with Rosetta Stone a lot. The iOS app is a lot better than Mac app, but still there are syncing issues. Even right after I finish a lesson, it doesn’t show as done until I restart.
  • Learning 5/5

    By Ljc824700
Much better than Bable. Rosetta Stone breaks it down and enables as much immersion as possible short of being in the country or culture itself.
  • Best Language App! 5/5

    By pharmslim7
I had Rosetta Stone when I was in service and it worked back in 2003 as it still does now. It’s the best when learning a new language. With me coming back this year, I’m loving that it’s a mobile app and it’s more user friendly than other language apps I’ve used. Way to go!

  • Fantastic way to learn a lengagues 5/5

    By sgdiazg
I learn Mandarin and portugués, you learn with out thinking in the language, and I love this new version
  • The good and the bad 3/5

    By Blár
The Good: Great content Lesson plans are flexible You start learning to actually speak straight away. The Bad: There’s no support or customer service. When you send in problems you get automated answers that don’t actually address your problems. It gets terribly boring after the first couple months. Often times you can pass lessons without learning anything because the pictures are teaching to to respond to key words in phrases. When you need explanations on grammar or conjugation your out of luck. If your not smart enough to pick out the patterns that relate to these concepts your just floating though in misery. Overall I’m happy I spent the money on the program it was a great start to my journey but if your serious about getting fluent This alone won’t get you there.
  • What happened? 3/5

By Chantelly lace the kitty baker
I gave it a five star rating less than thirty minutes ago and immediately after it happened there was a whole mess of things that went wrong. The app started to repeat the same word to me over and over without having anything on the screen. The app wouldn’t close anything out so I had to close the whole thing down and reopen it. Upon reopening it crashed once. Then none of the buttons would work when trying to reopen the lesson. I was literally jamming my thumb into the screen trying to get it to work. I’ve already had a frustrating day and I just wanted to relax and learn some Spanish. I just had a fight with it after a five star rating so I bumped it down the three. I think it’s great and it’s been helpful but after such a long day and a mess of stuff that happened immediately after my previous rating, I couldn’t just say nothing.
  • Lifetime subscription 5/5

I am thoroughly enjoying learning a new language! This has made it fun and easier with the lessons and repetition! Where was this when I was in school?

Great product.. I only have some technical issues on my iPad pro. Sine the screen turning function is not working on iPad, i can’t access the next step on process screen to continue
  • Good and easy 5/5

    By Enigma. PEACE✌️
This app is great for learning any language though I’m doing Italian myself. It is fast but not too fast easy and a bit challenging at the same time. The mic does glitches from time to time though that might just be my iPad but watch out for it anyway and don’t get frustrated when it happens. Also some of the badges are totally unrealistic. Like who would sign in 365 days in a row?WHO?!? Anyways back on track. This app is great for people just starting to learn a language and are serious about learning it. All in all, great app I approve.
  • Excelente App 5/5

    Lo recomiendo absolutamente
  • Great Learning Progression 5/5

    By Mordechai 83
I love the way the learning progresses as you move through the days. No English just pictures and Spanish. I can feel myself getting more confident as the days go on especially because they pepper in a lot of the old stuff as they introduce new so you get a solid foundation with the words and actions you learned days ago.
  • A Total Scam 1/5

    By Fox_Hollow
Beware, this system that they have set up is a total scam. I signed up a few months ago, and received an email telling me that my account will auto renew soon. I never chose to auto renew in the first place, but not the end of the world. I’ll just go login and turn it off... guess what? The toggle they claim is available for me to click is no where to be found. No where in my settings is there an option to go to my account, and no where is there an option to turn off auto renewal. I then contacted support, but it kept giving me an error and would not send message. They bury this stuff in their site out of the hope that you will give up and forget about it. Total scam, I’d avoid if I were you.
  • Rosetta Stone 5/5

    By Marg_paris
The best app fo learning another language.
  • Why do we need to pay!? 2/5

    By breezaaaaaay
I am broke, my parents are in a bad state of money, and I’m trying to learn French. And of course I need full access to get to day three! I learned boy, girl, read, eat drink, and run! And it doesn’t help that we need to pay a lot of money....
  • Every language learning experience is very comprehensive 5/5

    By duckiesaurus
But the ones easiest to learn are the ones that have been romanized so languages such as French, German, Spanish, and Vietnamese all use the alphabet like in the English language so it makes visualizing and understanding how to pronounce stuff in these foreign languages a lot easier and concrete. A language where Rosetta Stone uses symbols to teach the language is Japanese for instance where genji is used so you have to learn how to write/draw it out plus learn the meaning and how it’s supposed to sound which can be extra challenging for some people. I imagine the same goes for Korean which uses their own set of symbols kind of like Japanese but different from Japanese. They’re different symbols or characters. About what you get... Several years ago I bought Rosetta Stone French - 5 levels edition for a couple hundred dollars that came with the installation cds, booklets, and the product key on a nice plastic card. You don’t get that anymore with a new purchase. Instead you can get it for a reduced price, also have the option to make small monthly payments until your item is paid off, and everything is now online which is still quite convenient since it’s all there on your web browser or your Rosetta Stone app. My French studies from the installation cds on my computer may have synced with my progress on my iPhone Rosetta Stone app but I’m not entirely sure. The photographs on the app are definitely updated so they’re nicer and more appealing than the ones from the installed cds’ photo content. It’s all basically the same stuff especially in terms of how it functions to help students learn this material quickly without any or much pressure and to help them have fun at the same time. I’ve been using Rosetta Stone for some time now and with my new purchase of Rosetta Stone, it is allowing me and all other students lifetime access to every language they teach. This is for me is the biggest deal/offer a student of language can get to truly love and appreciate for the rest of their lives because they get so much and more while paying so little. I highly recommend this product, Rosetta Stone, for anyone who would love to learn something new every day and have a skill that can sometimes (or all the time) be used in real life situations.
  • Awesome 5/5

    By RWooten
I love this better then sliced bread! And for the lowest price!!!!
  • You can learn a language at any age 5/5

    By Irishprincess60
I’m 68 and relearning the Spanish I studied in high school. I never really grasped the plurals and why something was male of female until I started with Rosetta Stone. I switched to Spanish from Italian which I learned with Rosetta Stone but in my daily life I have little need of Italian, but in the USA more and more of our population is Spanish speaking, especially in Arizona. So, it made sense to try and recapture all I lost & improve on it during my COVID19 sheltering at home. I always thought I was a dunce when it came to language learning, but with Rosetta Stone it’s impossible not to learn...and retain. Try it, you’ll be glad you did.
  • Well this is amazing 5/5

    By Bluebelle99
    Enjoying day one so far!
  • Effective, but expensive 3/5

    By sdrummond
Rosetta Stone is a good way to learn a language, but it won’t teach you the grammar and it’s expensive.
  • Great app but.... 3/5

    By dkskdmske
Love the way you teach it, i was very excited to start learning but one think that caused me to decide not to purchase the subscription was the voice recognition constantly is telling me my mic has poor quality so I moved my hand off my phone, tried various ways to put it even being close or being far away. I even attempted on my other devices. I just wish that the app had better speech recognition.
  • Simplemente perfecto 5/5

    By rubbiiiiaaa
