    Ordering online at Safeway has been made simpler and more efficient. My only gripe would be to simplify the coupon application process towards the final bill like is done with the application of the Safeway membership card. Still an easy way to order and obtain groceries during the pandemic.

    I go to Safeway pickup for groceries very much these days. The employees are very helpful and friendly. They correct any errors or possible mistakes. I appreciate the help to get my food. I am grateful for no fee for this service. It had been great , and I will continue coming to pickup my groceries. I wish I could get my groceries in the large brown bags (sacks) instead of all the plastic bags used. I need the large paper bags to us e at home. Once one pickup person got some for me which I really appreciated. How do I request this each time? Thank you. J. Cavender, Vail, Az.

    Ordered over $100 in groceries to be delivered on 11/16 between 12-4 pm. After 4 pm the third party delivery driver told me Safeway lost my order and he was bringing me one single item from my order, a $4 frozen pizza. He said the Safeway employee told him I need to call customer service to get it resolved. Why should I need to call if they’re aware of the problem? They should contact me and explain when I’m getting my stuff. Anyway... 30 minutes on hold with customer service, they say my order will be delivered the following day 12-4 pm. Next day 4 pm, 30 minutes on hold with customer service to ask where my order is. They say it will arrive by 5 pm. 6 pm, 20 minutes on hold with customer service, they tell me it’s coming and to expect a call within 30 minutes from the Operations Manager. 6:45 pm, 15 minutes on hold with customer service, they tell me my order isn’t coming at all (by now they’ve missed four different delivery windows without contacting me once) and asked me if I would like a refund. I asked for the refund. The customer service rep told me it was escalated to a manager and that I would receive my refund within 7 days at the most. This is day 10. No contact from Safeway, no refund. In total I spent over 12 hours in delivery windows waiting on my stuff, and over 2 hours on hold or on the phone/chat with consumer service. Still no groceries, no refund. I just filed a dispute with my credit card for the charges.

    I’m new and was offered free delivery. Delivery was not an option. I ordered for pick up. Time ready six to eight pm. Safeway text me at six pm to say not ready. Seven now still not ready. This is awful service and not worth the time. Also I needed this afternoon to use for dinner. Not time to cook now. BAD

    Employees at the Safeway in Tracy are very rude. They don’t help you with anything. They act like they are to busy, they let the homeless bother the customers for money. Why would anyone want to spend money there. Well went to Safeway in Tracy a week later. Nothing has changed!!!! Homeless in front of the store begging for money, people getting the carts saying nothing to them or telling them to leave. Now they are walking up to people in the parking lot asking for money. Not only are they in-front of the store now they are begging in the parking lot. Expired food in the deli case. They apparently don’t want people to spend money at this Safeway. I will go to Raleys in Tracy now. Terrible Safeway

    Use Amazon Whole Foods. Two times I had orders and a majority of the items were missing. No communication until delivery time then. “Sorry”. Amazon texted me about missing items while fulfilling orders and asked if I wanted a substitution. Much better!!!! If you don’t want the items you ordered ok to use this service!!!

    The search feature pulls up options for items easily as if it knows exactly the product you are looking for but the list of items found on the search often seem very random. Niagara spray starch iron on brought up only cooking starches but eventually listed almost every kind of spray- except for spray starch. It’s hard to find things and many things in store like spray starch don’t seem to be available online but I am happy to have the option to order online.

    This app is horrible compared to walmart and target. You have no idea if anything has been substituted or if its out of stock. They dont apply your personalized savings and its very difficult to add to your order. Dont bother just go to another store

    I spent over an hour making up a large order, then took a quick phone call. When I came came back, the app had apparently timed me out; I couldn’t complete the checkout. I tried calling the store customer service; but no answer. Phooey. I’m ordering from another (local chain) store. They are somewhat more costly, but I’ve had no trouble with orders or customer service.

    You really have to pay attention to your order. The problem is user error. I received 1 orange thought I bought a bag. Lol. I ended up with 2 pot roasts 2 different kind, I thought I deleted one. I’m not good at size so got a few items smaller then expected. Reviewing your order was a little difficult. Pickup was a breeze. I will order again. 😊

    It’s a good service, but sometimes they say things aren’t available when they actually are. Not perfect, but better than having to spend an hour inside a grocery store with people who don’t follow rules well. I guess if you really want something you have to take the chance.

    Yesterday was the first time I ordered online and went to Safeway to pick up my groceries. I was pleasantly surprised that my order would be ready in 4 hours. I was blown away when I received the text that it was ready in 2 hours. I drove to the store in pouring rain, called the phone number I’d been given (and which was also prominently displayed in the designated parking spaces), told them which parking stall I was in, and out came my groceries from a very friendly grocery clerk. All I had to do was pop the trunk and my groceries were placed inside. It was so easy and truly contactless. The groceries I ordered were right on! The produce was perfect and my meat selections were beautiful. I’m usually so picky about produce and meat (which has kept me shopping in person), but not anymore. The time saved and keeping me safer during this pandemic is well worth it. I highly recommend this service!! Thank you.
