I downloaded this app and could not get it to connect to my new Samsung tv using my iPhone 8 on latest software.
I then downloaded 9 other apps related to Samsung Tv Remote and they all connect and function. I also tried my wife’s iPhone XR with our tv and still I have the same problem.
Came here to the review section to find many people having the same exact problem. So apparently it’s not on my side. Especially seeing as it’s not a network problem or crappy hardware like router or phone- because other apps connect over the same network.

Uuummm ok, like the title says. Just got the Sammy NU8000, excellent smart tv great picture but apparently not compatible with Samsung’s official app, probably because they want you to buy a garbage galaxy phone. Not interested in that, I’ve had various droid phones over the years and now a couple of iPhones, personally prefer iPhones. Guess I’ll just delete and use one of the better 3rd party apps, thumbs down on Samsung for a garbage app that won’t even recognize their own 2018 model tv. Yes everything is connected to WiFi only have one network in my house like 99% of normal people. 👎👎

I have three Samsung TVs and this doesn’t work with two of them. Also, It only works if the TV is on, therefore you can’t turn the TV on with this app. AND the App only works if you use the same wireless network on all devices. So if you have wired devices or a dual band router, you’re out of luck! Really more trouble then it’s worth.
This app would get 4 stars if all the features worked. For some reason the select area works in every aspect except when trying to play a show that is selected. So frustrating. Also you can’t turn on the tv with your phone even if both are on the same WiFi. Kinda lame

I have multiple Samsung TVs and can connect to all of them except the frame which happens to be the only tv I want to use this horrible app with to upload photos. This worked fine for a while and just stopped. Went through the standard steps that all have tried hoping for miracle. Sadly no luck. Shame on you Samsung. For shame !

It’s a little clunky to set up but it does function pretty nicely. I’m using it on an older Samsung 55” with AllShare, the TV is wired to the same network my wireless hub uses. I can navigate my photos and videos, the interface will show thumbnails of the photos but I haven’t been able to get thumbnails on the videos. As long as you know the video filename you can play what you want. The app allows access to all functions from anywhere on my network; input select, numeric channel select, volume up/down, channel up/down, TV preferences and power.

Why would I need to use my phone as the remote, if I have to approve my phone via the actual tv remote, on every use. I may as well use the actual tv remote if I have to fetch it regardless.

Consistently doesn’t connect and won’t do mirroring. When you connect to the iPad as a source on the TV the functionality is so weak you waste endless amounts of time finding photos. It’s almost unbelievable Samsung could make and release something this bad. Knowing this I would have bought a different brand of TV

I have tried multiple times to connect my TV to the app - both are connected to the same WiFi. Nothing works and it’s more of a pain than anything. We have an Apple TV in our living room and prefer to use that than waste our time trying to use this in our bedroom. We wouldn’t have wasted the money on our Smart TV if we knew this would be such a huge issue.

Fail to connect. There’s no option to change the wifi
Terrible app. I have a brand new Samsung TV, connected to the same network. And it doesn’t even recognize it. I expected more from Samsung

I broke the original remote and was going to buy another one. This app works ways better than the original remote ever did. I don’t know why the reviews are so low, maybe the app was bad at one point but it’s really fast now.
Edit: I get why people hate it now. It disconnects all the time and doesn’t automatically reconnect. You have to dismiss the error notification and choose your TV again after it’s found. As an app developer I know this is easy to fix. It shouldn’t show an error notification. It should show an animating spinner and automatically keep trying to reconnect until you tell it not to. I definitely understand why this would upset most users.

I have several Wi-Fi access points in my house that have unique names but all on the same subnet. I do this specifically so I can exercise better control over which access point is used by my devices. This app will not connect to the TV because it uses a different access point than my phone. That makes this app entirely USELESS!
I have many other Wi-Fi enabled devices such as Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick, LifeX Lights, Lennox Thermostat, and HP and Canon Wireless Printers to name a few, and NONE of those has the same problem connecting.
This is embarrassing Samsung. You should replace this app developer because they obviously don’t know what they are doing. This is harming your reputation.

Tried this app several times and still, it doesn’t work. Followed instructions. Both TV and phone are on the same WiFi. Phone recognizes television on app and still won’t connect.
