  • I really enjoy this app but it’d be PERFECT if… 4/5

There was a tab where you can add private notes to observations that you find or warnings about look alike plants both good and bad ones.
  • Garbage 1/5

This app takes an eternity to identify a plant, if it even identifies it. Absolute garbage.

Great app except when it refuses to identify species. Says a clearer photo is needed when in fact camera is capturing a perfect photo of a leaf or flower and it is impossible to do better!
  • Needs work 3/5

    By sirwithrabies
I wanted to know what kind of wild grass I had, the app told me it was a turtle. So now I question every plant it identifies.
  • Very informative 5/5

    By Ritbhai
Very handy and easy to use app with access to ton of information. Must have for all nature enthusiasts.!!!!
  • I love this app! 4/5

    By vanessafrog
I wouldn’t change a thing other than the fact that I can’t crop the photos I try to use. If I could crop them, it would be five stars because sometimes I have to crop the photos to get a result. Everything else is perfect! 🙂
  • A great app for explorers 5/5

    By pongo787907041776
This app is often unsure or wrong about the plants it identifies, however! Be sure to get a second and third opinion, especially if you are foraging.
  • Great but could be better 3/5

    By AutoUsernamesforAppleSuck
This app should have labels ranking the species from common to rare, depending on how many people got a picture of it. That would gamify the application and be a lot more enjoyable. Furthermore, this app should have a red alert or warning sign that shows when a photographed species is known to be venomous or poisonous.
  • Best identifying app yet 5/5

    By Moeman1987
I’ve tried several and this one has the best identification ability. Bravo!
  • Excellent plant & animal ID app! 5/5

    By Weatherbeeee
I love this app! I use it all the time, it’s pretty accurate if you can get a decent photo. I’ve used it on multiple continents and climates and was still able to recognize the local flora & fauna :)
  • All around great app! 5/5

    By Multytasker34
I’m really enjoying using this app! It’s great quality, especially considering it’s free. There are a few things that would make it better though; for example adding a link to the Wikipedia page for each species. Granted, I can Google the species myself but a link would be a nice touch. Also I find that the app has a hard time identifying tall trees, which is what I’m principally interested in. It would be really cool if the identified trees had separate pictures of their bark, leaves, flowers, and seeds. But overall I can’t complain, keep up the great work!

Great app but please stop making me close that freaking popup every single time I open the app and try to use it.
  • Can’t get enough! 5/5

I often download apps, use them a time or two, then forget about them. Not iseek! In fact, I’ve enjoyed it so much, I tell people about it all the time. So easy to use & a fun way to learn about the world around us. I’d love to be able to see more info on the species inside the app, but if in truly interested I usually just paste into my browser. Would be great if you could copy the Latin name from mobile to make that easier.
  • Amazing App 5/5

    By FishMaster3147
I love it so much, helps a lot, and the challenges are pretty great
  • OK but needs work 3/5

    By MB8946
This is a fairly good app for the price (free) but it actually doesn’t work as well since the last update. Prior to the update, there were plants it identified that it now can only define the family of. Hopefully, the bugs will get worked out and it will improve.
  • A real life Pokédex. 4/5

    By himynameisjaye
It’s super cool, and fairly accurate. One thing it NEEDS: the ability to manually input a species. So often I’ll get the camera to get to genus level, and I know exactly what species I’m dealing with, but I can’t just tell it what it is so I can get credit. This is very common with herptiles and insects, as well as birds and mammals at distance, which the program isn’t very good at identifying through cell phone cameras. For example, I have several photos of a nearby salamander, and although it’s the ONLY salamander within a hundred miles, I can’t get the program to identify it no matter what quality, angle, or zoom of photo I upload — DSLR or phone camera — thus I’ll never get my amphibian credit for it.

It’s the best thing to do when you have free time!
  • Good, but needs work 4/5

    By B3ndyb0y
It’s very fun, the badges make you want to explore. However, the built in camera is low quality and the AI needs a better job of identifying organisms. I encountered a major problem today where I tried to take a picture of a squirrel and it was identified as a mustelid. Overall great app

  • Great and fun app but lots of issues 3/5

    By TurltleGrande
First off, this is a really fun app. It’s great to use with children, with friends, or on your own when out and about in nature. There is all sorts of challenges that you can try out to find all the necessary organisms to get badges and achievements. The problems come into play when identifying or trying to identify an organism. The camera associated with the app isn’t very responsive at times. Better to use your phones own camera and then upload the photos for identification, if it will identify the items from the photo you took. The species identification also becomes a problem. Sometimes it takes the camera a good while to identify a species or when trying to focus on just one organism surrounded by others. Also, identification can be a bit off at times saying that an organism is something that it is not. Most of the time it’s something similar or in the same family, but many times it will come up and give the wrong species or names. (Example: an ibis was identified as a spoonbill.) This is still a fun app and doing the challenges is exciting. I still recommend it but the issues are pretty bothersome.
  • Best app I’ve ever downloaded 5/5

    By flunkendorf
This is just perfect, all I could ever ask for, I’ve always loved animals and plants and all things nature and have wanted to make it a hobby of mine to go outside more and see all the things around me, been playing a lot of Pokémon go and this app is like that but real life. So cool, I don’t have anything bad to say about this except maybe how it goes through battery pretty fast (ik there’s is like bearly anything you can do about that) but also it does that tend to crash and close itself out a little bit, not enough to be annoying to me idk if I’m the only one that hat happens to of if it maybe my service, but anyway, I’m thanks for such a great app and keep up the fantastic work
  • Would be five stars, but. . . 4/5

    By Me136982420
Let me start by saying that I wish I could LOVE this app, but I definitely like it a lot. - One of the issue is, I’ve gotten right in the face of several insects, gotten fantastic pictures, and the app still fails to identify them. - The second issue is the lack of information contained within the app. I think I, along with others care less about what kingdom, family, etc etc an animal is in, and are more concerned with “is it dangerous?” Or “is it helpful to have around.” - The last issue I have is again, lack of information. If I am hiking, or camping, or hunting or whatever and I need to know if a plant or animal is safe to eat, that info is nowhere to be found. I understand adding all this stuff would make the app size massive, but it would make it so much better and informative. All that being said, I love identifying living things around me and the app does a great job (most of the time) with that. I just wish there was more to the identification screen.
  • Never works for me 2/5

    By tankdayglo
I’ve tried to identify a couple dozen plants using this app and about 90% of the time it wasn’t able to despite well lit & clear photos.
  • Seek 5/5

    By Feldski
Has been very helpful identifying local flairs and fauna
  • Worthless 1/5

    By Fogwa
This app is worthless it constantly says that it can’t identify “any” species of plant no matter how clear I take a photo. Fortunately I didn’t pay any subscription so I am happy to delete this waste of time and space on my phone.
  • Great app, one suggestion 4/5

    By entrelac
I love this app and use it all the time. It has been incredibly helpful for identifying plants and insects I see around the yard, even if it’s not always accurate- usually it’s enough to get me on the right track for figuring out at least broadly what something is or is not. One feature I would love is if I could tell the app that I’m trying to identify a plant or an insect (or whatever) so it limits itself to that category. Sometimes I’ll be trying to get it to focus on an insect that’s on a plant, and it just keeps telling me what the plant is. I can’t get it to ID the insect instead of the plant.
  • Useless 1/5

    By starbryt
I have tried to identify plants using this app and found it absolutely and utterly useless. I’m dumping it.
  • Poor App 1/5

    By KMBbruins
I wanted to test the app for the plants that I did know, and it only worked once. Luckily this app doesn’t make you pay. Get this app if you want to waste storage on your devices.
  • Best app! 5/5

    By bigoriver
Most apps are a waste of time and detract from a well lived life. SEEK is the exact opposite and perhaps the best example of an app that serves humanity’s best intentions and aspirations. It effectively helps us deepen our relationship and understanding of the natural world. Just be sure after you’ve identified something that you spend time with it and study it with your own eyes and senses. It’s a useful tool, but no substitute for simply spending time watching and learning directly.

This does everything I ever need
  • Great! 5/5

    By 64789427
This app is both useful and fun! The answers are pretty much always right, though they sometimes are general. It takes a while to get the answers. Even so, this app can find all different kinds of species, and is even free! I highly recommend this app to both nature lovers and people who are scared of nature.
  • It’s great! 4/5

    By Becky Hart
It usually works great but sometimes it gets the species wrong.
  • Little identification 2/5

    By Cat2022!
A lot of times insects, bugs and plants are not identifiable Via Seek.
  • Good for plants terrible for animals 2/5

    By FNAF 2 is awesome!
Seek is a great app for still plants and fungi but if you want to identify something like a mule deer it’s useless. Today I got 3 feet away from a doe mule deer and it struggled to even come up with an identification, finally it did and I was exited to take the picture, then I realized it said Nubian ibex and my disappointment was undescribable. In conclusion if you want to go out in the wilderness and snap a quick photo of an animal before it runs away, then seek is a terrible app to use.
  • Great app, but camera feature needs work 4/5

    By Family Adventurers
Great app but the camera frequently cannot focus enough to fully identify the species.
  • Way off 1/5

    By terstala
It could not figure out a simple tarragon herb and it kept calling an Indian peach tree an olive tree! Definitely has quite a few issues to work out before it should be put out there.Take it off and fix it National Geographic!

  • AMAZING!!!!!! 5/5

    By ghhhnghjb
    Incredible app!! Highly recommend.
  • Would be great if it could use photos you already took. 1/5

    By bclee
When I’m able to give it a photo from my photo roll it works great. But I can only do that after uninstalling and installing the app, and then it starts with photos that are at least a few days old, not the one I just took and want to identify. And I only get that one try, after that the photo roll shows nothing until I uninstall and reinstall the app. 5 star app if it worked, 0 star app as it stands today.
  • Get it! 5/5

    Works AMAZINGLY! No flaws!
  • Frustratingly addictive! 4/5

    By abjason
Guys, OMG, please tighten up this app. I become so frustrated when I have a plant or insect in perfect view and it captures the species and looses it! For that, I should ditch the app but I won’t. I love it. Instead of chasing pokie people, I am learning the species of most flora and fauna in the Rockies and capturing some beautiful and intimate events in nature for sharing later. Fix this great app please!
  • Educational 5/5

    By Brian Kijewski
Fun and exciting free app to help you identify almost everything!!!
  • Works great, Want more species info 4/5

    By DalPal EC
As long as I have service this app is great at quickly identifying species, mostly using it for wildflowers. Just wish there was more info available o the app about each species, like special uses, more historical/environmental context, fun facts etc.
