I would give this at -1,000,000 stars if I could but I have to give it at least one because the App Store only allows me to
  • Great app that needs a recovery option 4/5

    By emster422
This app has been great for virtual learning with the kids I tutor. It would be a 5-star app if the developers add a recovery option. Little fingers sometimes click out of their assignments accidentally and then lose all of their hard work. It has resulted in a lot of disappointment and frustration on a few occasions 😕 Please add a recovery option or have the assignments save themselves automatically. Thanks!
  • Crashes and loses work 1/5

    By GreenPrell
It is unacceptable that this app crashes and loses work. It should auto-save and it should be stable. That’s a very small ask of an application in 2020.
  • Buggy and Unreliable 1/5

    By Mmmmmqwerty
Our school uses Seesaw for managing remote school work. However we (techie adult included) are having a hard time submitting homework. I get “Error. Item not found.” Seriously, couldn’t you catch these errors and handle them gracefully for grade school kids? It had come to a point where I needed to help my son redo his hard work because we couldn’t submit and had to redo the work. Couldn’t you at least save the work locally (on device) so we can recover previous work? The most frequent issue is that my son finished all his art work and then he cannot record audio (pause button is showing instead of microphone) and again he’s stuck and we have to redo the work. Such a frustrating and unreliable app. And it’s only the 3rd day of school. This app makes remote learning frustrating. Screenshot is more reliable.
  • Can’t do stuff- frustrated 2/5

    By dana mcgillen
I can’t copy an item on one page and move it to an other page in the activity editing. Students can unlock items that I locked when building an activity. I Don’t like this! My special needs students are struggling with the size of items to drag when running the activity assigned to on an iPad. We do not like that we do not have control of the font size. We do not like that we can’t place the text in a large box in the center of the text box, we can only place the text in the middle of the top line of the text box in an activity.
  • Do not get this app it is a scam 1/5

I have been using this app 2 yeas ago and still does not work. You can not not stop it from uploading even if it says you can when do and send it in it says error 905 or something. It also always has a spelling mistake in it so do not use Grammarly for it it will not work since it ineffective oh and it you can also not redo it unless the teacher or who the boss is for it sends back to you.
  • The worst 1/5

Extremely difficult to use on a tablet. A case where technology is so much worse than pencil and paper. Nothing but total frustration and I work with computers and technology all day for my job.
  • Nice platform but... 3/5

... why do assignments only show with badge AFTER I select the assignments for the particular class. The entire point of push notifications is to let me know when something becomes available!
  • Wish I Started Using Sooner 5/5

    By Little Readers
SeeSaw is an amazing app! It is very teacher and student friendly! so easy to use! There are so many tools! Students can record their voice, video themselves reading a book or explaining their work, and then they can upload their work. The assignments go directly to me. I have a K/1 combo and my students feel empowered because they can upload their own work to the app and then send it to me. What’s also great is that SeeSaw has many great activities and lessons that have been created by teachers in all subject areas that are available to be assigned to the class. Teachers have an option of assigning the activities that have already been created or they can create and assign their own activities. I’ve been doing both. It’s a great app! I highly recommend for distance learning and for in classroom use!

During this time of virtual teaching this app has really helped me with my ore k students. I can see their work and hear them speak about it. Exactly what I need for assessing. Love this. I was even able to make my own lesson and I am just learning all this new technology.

  • Worst app ever 1/5

    By aloha gello
It keeps on delaying the delivery of my son`s work
  • Great for little kids, would love dates on posts though 4/5

    By TerylH
My kindergartener can use this app pretty intuitively. My only wish is that all posts for assignments, journal entries, notifications, all included a date and time when posted and replied to. I just went back and forth with my son’s teacher thinking we didn’t receive the posted assignments for the day, but in actuality he did them all by himself. When I looked in the completed assignments folder there was no way to tell which day they were posted and completed. So, A+ that the app is easy that he can do it on his own, but please help parents know that critical bit of info so I can more easily track!
  • Misses the mark 1/5

    By Tnoe0131
User experience is horrific. Phone app is average, but needs a ton of work to be useful. Journal interface provides zero info, such as what assignment the post is in reference to. It says “Math”, for example. Which assignment? What date was it uploaded? Why do we need to see a picture of what was submitted - shouldn’t that be behind a click? Inbox notifications are useless. “Your item was updated.” No kidding - what was the update? Clicking it just takes you to a picture of the item, which does zero for the student. What - was - the - update? Graded, rejected, accepted, completed, commented,...?? Class Announcements scroll to the very bottom and are just a wall of text. Maybe a subject for the announcement instead if the whole thing at once? A way to mark “read” or hide ones that no longer pertain? Activities are another wall of text. Can’t wait to see what a mess this is at the end of the year. Web app is worse, totally unusable for any student only using a laptop. Developers want to try to use a single code base and adapt to web use - doesn’t translate at all. Feels like it was thrown together between March and August 2020 to rush to market.
  • Great student engagement 5/5

    By tjt229
The engagement of my kindergarten students is considerably better than last Spring. I believe this can be attributed to changing to Seesaw. The families appreciate the ease of use. I appreciate the contribution of activities in the Community Library as well as out District Library. I have customized activities to meet the needs of my classroom too. I have learned so much about Seesaw since COVID. In the future, I intend to use it in the classroom setting.
  • The record feature is messed up 2/5

    By Allison503
I am a teacher and I used seesaw in the spring as well. Generally, I like it. But I am having an issue that I have gone round and round with seesaw support about. They cannot help. When I go to record on top of a worksheet in the drawing feature the video is oddly laid on top of the photo and it does not allow you to make drawings when paused. When you pause the recording and then continue it has a weird glitch in the play back for kids where you can’t see the full lessons and it jumps to the end of the video for a second. Please fix.

It’s good for learning I know that because I’m a student that uses this app hehe...
  • Good app but needs some easier photo editing 3/5

    By Amitjainebay
The photo tools and the picture taking capabilities are very primitive and submitting homework can be challenging. Hope they add tools like cropping the picture and then zooming it etc in the app for parents to submit homework easily for elementary school kids

    By Phoenix8784
So this is app is great but whenever I make a video and edit it, then try to upload it to seesaw, it will upload the un-edited version and it’s SO ANNOYING! Please fix this, it ruins the app for me.
  • Worst UI ever 1/5

    By Laurajfthvxy
Can’t find folders. Totally undiscoverable. Must pull down in the journal section in order to get access to a filter at the top of the screen. Once you click the filter you get access to student names. Once there, you have to click on a faded folder icon that doesn’t even look clickable. How the heck is someone supposed to know how to do that?! This app is completely unintuitive for users. I have no idea why it has high positive ratings. Maybe it’s great for teachers but for parents, it’s garbage. This app is so confusing to use. It shouldn’t be this difficult to navigate.
  • Review 4/5

    By zermea
Hello, I love using Seesaw especially because of how user friendly it is for my students. Also I find useful the ability to share activities with my coworkers. However I would like to be able to see all scheduled assignments on a calendar. Thank you! Andrea Kindergarten Teacher
  • Love LOSING work? This app is for YOU... 1/5

    By S&J
We love spending lots of time with our child doing work in the app only to have it crash on us and have to start over. We love having to reformat and rearrange the teacher’s assignment just so we can read it properly. We love not being able to set font/style defaults so we have to reselect them over and over and over again. Distance learning is THE WORST and this app keeps the frustration level HIGH.

So far so good it’s been 1 week using seesaw for my second grader. However now I have another child using seesaw and it’s not easy to toggle between the kids accounts. Is there a feature I’m missing out on? I would love to leave a better review when I get a better hang of it.
  • Logging out for multiple users 😔 3/5

    By Tashal02
I have found that now that I have two children needing the app I have become frustrated with having to sign out of one child’s to sign into the others. With more remote learning going on I hope this is revamped soon. It’s frustrating to have to constantly scan the QR code.
  • Amazing Product 5/5

Your app really saved me during virtual learning in the Spring! I love it and the company was so generous to teachers allowing us to use the upgrade for free!
  • Good 4/5

  • Confusing, cluttered, lame 1/5

    By Mishel Mandujano
I have been trying to like seesaw but I just can’t. There is no point to it. You simply can’t create well developed activities. I can’t stand how all student work goes to the “class journal” and you have to scroll down to see the student’s work. Like, why use this when there is google classroom? Because of the free activities? 🤔 I like to create my own, thank you.
  • 3 Suggestions for the Family Announcement Feature 3/5

    By Kinder teacher in fremont
1.Would love to see a feature where you can message all family members of one child, like a group message. Right now you have to copy and paste your private message to each of the child’s family members. 2.Would also love if you can have more than one attachment in a family announcement. 3.Last would love if you have a draft format when posting an announcement so you don’t accidentally lose your post before sending.
  • Organization 1/5

    By Kbparkside
The parents of my students find the constant scrolling to get to a current activity extremely frustrating. As an educator I do as well. It should be a simply straight forward way to organize. Not having a home page to list announcements and daily schedules has parents preferring Google Classroom.
  • Seesaw 2/5

    By getit fixed now!!!!!
As a teacher, I’m finding that when accessing Seesaw on the computer I’m experiencing challenges with scrolling to add students. I also had difficulty uploading a link for my students TS using the computer. Also when I’m using my phone to access Seesaw, it’s easier to attach a link in the children’s portfolios opposed to doing that in the laptop. I think the navigation piece on Seesaw could use some work. I’ve used other platforms and they are considerably easier for the teachers and parents to use.

See Saw is great with the activities. I love the community part of the site. There is plenty of activities to choose from. The assignments are easier to add and check. What I don’t like is the communication with parents. I can’t see you is connected and how do I send a message to a particular parent. Part of the problem is the lack of training that I received.

  • Good but not Great 4/5

    By Jewboy929
I like so much about Seesaw. I just wish there was a way to write on an assignment without having to copy and edit. I want to be able to correct papers like a teacher would if they turned in a paper copy. Something like a correcting mode would be great.

  • Great tools - more teacher visibility needed 3/5

    By jessamont
I love how Seesaw equips the students with multiple tools to submit their work! I also love the activities page and journal section. However, I wish I could see when students I have in my classroom on the app. I can see them online, but if they had that feature on the app it would be very helpful! Also, adding a stories section where we can add announcements would be nice instead of it sending as a message to each student.
