  • Amazing online journal 5/5

    By Mrs. DeLaO67
Seesaw is an amazing tool for students to show what they are learning. Students can add pictures, drawings, labels and videos explaining what they are learning. All student posts can be organized into folders or by student. Teachers can easily differentiate with Seesaw because you can post an assignment or leveled text to selected students. Can be used for any grade level and subject. Parents can connect to their child’s journal and view. Seesaw should be used in all classrooms.

I gave seesaw 3 stars because, well, to me, Seesaw is like “class instagram” I like how you can post things educational and that you can get in touch with your class mates on a device. But, I’d not do “teacher approvals.” It can take days to write a comment or days just to have a post be approved. Also, How come parent’s comments have to approved too? It makes no sense. It’s not like their going to post anything bad. Also, parents can’t post either it would be fun if they did. But still, just for the kids that want mothers and fathers to post on seesaw. I hope reading this response will have you with suggestions. This is just me though, I think seesaw is good though.
  • Great tool! 4/5

    By Lo Schneider
This app has been a wonderful component of family school communication. It helps me more frequently update families about happenings in the classroom, send informal notes, and document student work. It’s also helpful with very anxious parents who need fast feedback in the beginning of the year. Thank you for adding pictures to announcements!! This is really helpful 👍🏻 I would like a couple issues fixed: 1. When you take a picture and are in for example the morning class you are not able to switch to the afternoon session without deleting the picture. This actually happens frequently and is annoying. 2. It is easy to forget about messages from parents in the inbox because once they are clicked on you aren’t really aware of them anymore. I think it would be helpful if the messages were sorted like an email format instead of by individual family members. This would make responding more efficient.
  • Love it but.. 5/5

I use seesaw mostly to keep the parents in the loop. Next year I will have more opportunities for the kids to add to their portfolio. I WISH SEESAW HAD A CALENDAR THAT TEACHERS COULD ADD CLASS EVENTS TO!!!!! Then parents could have that on their phones as well

  • Connecting to Parents in a Convenient Way 5/5

I love Seesaw because I contact with families in a convenient and fun way. I can leave my families voice messages, text messages, or brief videos that my families found very enjoyable and meaningful.
  • Homeschool Blended Learning MUST HAVE!!! 5/5

    By Mom tester 007
This is an awesome app for homeschooling three rambunctious boys - 5, 9 & 10. They love to move and Seesaw moves with them, while making sure my type A is appeased. Can you say, "win, win." We've even added chores into the mix. Only con, NO REWARD SYSTEM. That's certainly a missed opportunity but one I hope they will add soon. Great app!!!

  • Recording Error 4/5

    By mringquist
I love this app but have been frustrated lately because anytime I try to upload a video more than a minute long it shows an error message and the video is lost. I’ve lost many cute kindergarten videos this way. It’s the only drawback to an otherwise awesome app.
  • Physical Education Usage 5/5

This has been a great tool so far. Created assignments for a jump rope unit. It really facilitated the class stations as they scanned papers, studied the jump, then recorded each other in the app. Gave me a whole new set of eyes in the gym and motivational tool to get the class to grow.

As a parent and a teacher, I love seesaw. I can see and hear my student's thinking.
  • Such an improvement! 5/5

    By Reinaag
In my previous review, I had written that while Seesaw had many amazing features, it was missing a feature that was important to home-school communication: the ability for parents to send pictures through private messaging. Now, the latest update gives that ability and more! Not only can parents/teachers send pictures through private messaging, but also videos, pdf files, and others! Now, my one remaining wish for Seesaw is to have something to the School Story feature similar to Class Dojo. This feature will help schools share school-wide activities/announcements to families. Seesaw is amazing!
  • Such a great app!! 5/5

As a student I find this app very useful and easy to use. All I ask is for Gif support, I wanted to show my teacher a Gif of the Falcon 9 rocket launching and the first stage landing 😞

  • Best app ever! 5/5

    By Awesome Practice
I love this app and I’m only 11. We use it in school to make videos for math and my teacher has been using this app since it came out! I’m still a student but I think it’s a great app for teachers to help students who are confused at home.
  • Amazing 5/5

    By Little Dutch Girl
Amazing app that allows students to be in charge of their own education. Love that they can add the pieces of evidence that show their learning and that they have the power to track their own growth. Hopes for the future: that I could send private messages to my students that their parents couldn’t see. Reminders, etc. Also would like to post straight to the blog without it having to be a journal entry. Or that I could have my own student account to post just to mine and then add it to the blog.

What a great collaboration and assessment tool! I'm using this app in my elementary science methods course so that they may consider using it in their future classrooms. They love it and I love seeing them post their science experiences.
  • Good app 5/5

I think that seesaw that is amazing app because kids can show the parents what they did when they finish the all of their work. Kids don't have to take the work home they can just take a snapshot and their parents will see it. My class is doing it and everyone loves it when we finish our work we love to grab a computer and take snapshots of good work everyone really loves it and I think others should get it too.

SeeSaw is a great communication tool for teachers, students and families. I use it for students in different reading groups to share work with each other and their families. I don't know how I survived without it!

When you run into issues, you CAN NOT call them for support. You have to do it via email and it takes DAYS to get real issues resolved. I usually get ONE response a day from their support people. Case in point, I opened a ticket with them on a server error we keep getting on Sept. 27 (over a week ago) and I am no closer to getting this resolved (it is now October 5th), then when I opened the ticket. As a support person, I am used to calling in issues and getting it resolved either on that phone call, or shortly there after (maybe a day or two later). This has happened now mulitiple times since we became a Seesaw For Schools building. The teachers who use Seesaw, absolutely love it, and I understand why, but coming from a support perspective, my view of Seesaw is quickly diminishing!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Love it 5/5

Well first of all I use this in my class so I love it!
  • Best thing since sliced bread! 5/5

    By Kris & Heather
Seesaw is the best thing that has happened to me in my teaching. Kids can digitally document there work, separate it into subject folders, and comment on there own or others others work. Teachers no longer have to drag binders of student work Home to grade. Instead, instant feed back is possible via text or voice comments. Parents get notified when something new has been posted in their child’s “journal” and with the new ability of sending announcements, even newsletters can be sent out through the app. There is so much more that seesaw can do, but check it out yourself. It truly is the best thing since sliced bread.
  • New features 1/5

    By Hugfnpyddcdhg15754
I don't like the new features. I do not like that students have to "choose" their name with each upload. Several students have accidentally uploaded into other's portfolio's. Last year that had their own portfolio, that was it. It was clean and simple. My high schoolers have found ways to "mess" with others portfolios and when I lock the portfolios no one can get in. Very frustrating update.

  • Best Educational App 5/5

    By Teacherof1st
As a teacher and a parent, this is the best app!!! It allows parents to see what their child is working on AND also has a feature that allows communication between parents & teachers! I highly recommend this app for your classroom!
  • Great for Special Needs Classroom 5/5

    By Groovy Cool
SeeSaw is fantastic for providing digital documentation of student work. Many of my students don't engage in paper pencil tasks, but in more hands-on activities geared toward their individual goals. SeeSaw allows me to post photos of them working, their successes and their joy of learning. It's a great way to share with parents who rarely know what their child does at school due the lack of "work" being sent home. I love that SeeSaw maintains student privacy by only allowing parents to view items in their child's portfolio. Thank you for such a great tool.
  • A must have for my students 5/5

    By TeachCow
It’s a very efficient app and essential to my third grade classroom. I would suggest some customization options for the aesthetics of it as far as textures or background photos for the frame, etc
  • So much functionality! 5/5

    By STARBASE Instructor
I only wish students could zoom in so that writing over images with the stylus was more practical.
  • Perfect, except for one thing.. 4/5

    By elem131
I love this app! I use it daily to communicate with the family of a special needs student. It also helps me document what she is doing in real time, allowing me to take pictures of her working within the classroom and during social activities. The students uses the note tool to write to her parents about her day... it's wonderful. My only issue is that parents can not post themselves- I would like be for them to be able post pictures from home so we can use them as talking points for the student.
  • Great app! 4/5

    By Bobby20000
This app is awesome! It allows parents to see what students are doing in the classroom and make sweet and encouraging comments. I have gotten great feedback from parents and students alike. The only thing I would change is the ability to let teachers add recordings or items to the teacher stream. Not just comments, but adding a new post. That would help round out the parents' picture.
