Great app, but a few glitches 3/5
I’ve met some great people on the app since joining last year. My only flag is that there are a few tech glitches. The most annoying is that the same person appears in my results daily, whether I ‘like’ them or not. No issues with the person - she seems lovely. But I would love to ‘meet’ someone new.
LinkedIn for 2019 4/5
By a 20 something professional
It’s described to be like Tinder for Professionals.
In essence, it’s a LinkedIn updated for 2019, encouraging connection and networking between peers in different industries with similar interests.
I’m enjoying it so far, and recommend that you try it out.
I’ve already started talking to several different people, and feel energized to network more actively, given that my primary experience doing so has been through conference events.
Which I love, I do enjoy meeting new people, but I also have to recharge from for weeks after (introvert probs).
This gives you 10-ish matches to look from per day, and you can connect or not.
But it doesn’t overwhelm with choices, and sets you up to be able to grow your circle without the introvert exhaustion from peopling in quantity and sorting everything out yourself.
Garbage App 1/5
Limited to 12 swipes every 5 hours. They want to charge you $20 a month for unlimited swipes. All just to meet a whole bunch of people looking for a new job too. Truly useless and a cheesy interface. Garbage just like Tinder.
Needs a free 30 day trial 3/5
By Je Keith
I don’t like the fact that there is an immediate paywall for me to use this app in its entirety. I really like the concept, but I don’t want to just spend $20 in hopes that I might like it.
This app is great although the subscription are extremely pricey
Fun but lots of bugs 3/5
The app needs to be improved as many bugs are interfering while using it
Can’t sign in! 1/5

I would love to try this app out... sounds like it could be a game changer for my business. IF I COULD EVER GET IT TO LOG ME IN!!!
Keeps Asking For Account Info 4/5
Good app, but every time I open it, it asks me to give the account initialization details (name, interests, etc.) before I can proceed. I already gave them!

App is sorta buggy and parallels Tinder 3/5
No matter how many times I save my information, including bio (which I know works because it allows me to go through the swiping process and have gotten results so I know the profile is live), it makes me go through and save it all again every time I open the app. I think it walks a fine line between professional and dating/social focused app, and through the interface and types of selling points, often veers further into the dating/social side. This may work for some, but I think it could do better for professional networking.
Shapr is superb
Contingent Review 1/5
So far this app does not seem to be a great avenue to network. It presents good potential but your only able to see 10 possible contacts every 10-20 hrs. Why not just use LinkedIn and view as many potential networking possibilities as you want?
Has potential 3/5
I wish the connections were more region specific. I swipe through the list and only one or two are within my state. Also, I understand the purpose of the limited number of swipes, but I dislike it.
Great idea/poorly executed 1/5
It’s a great idea, but the execution of it isn’t great. With things like meetup and LinkedIn, I’m not willing to pay for things I can do free on those platforms.
Not sure 3/5
By Screw tinder
Got a message and replied but as soon as I changed an interest they were gone, so now my first connection is gone.
A tease 2/5
TLDR: the “matching” algorithm doesn’t “match”, then they ask for your money to make it “match.”
The concept is great but it seems like nothing else but a money-making scheme for the developers. You get 15 random “matches” a day - and they do seem very random; more than half of them have nothing to do with my industry and the rest are other people in my industry who are looking for jobs just like me.
Then the push notifications- “someone wants to hire you, give us $20 to find out who it is” is the gist of it. To actually *search* for people who may be valuable to network with, you also have to pay for that.
I will give it some more time to see if the algorithm improves, but the manner in which they manipulate users has put me off of ever paying.
Free version gone 1/5
Not that it was really all that great but the free version is gone so don’t even bother downloading. Deleting. Did make a couple of business connections but mostly just people trying to get you to join their MLM or buy something.
I like the concept, but noticed a few bugs 3/5
By sad sad mannnnn
#1 When I’m adding my interests, some of them float to the right and are not visible, making me unable to see or remove them.
#2 Whenever I click on anything that brings up the pop up for buying the pro version, there is no way to close the pop up, forcing me to close the app.
I’m disappointed that you cannot add your location with the free version. The app is basically non-functional if you cannot find people near you. 14/15 of my swipes today were people out of state, it’s not practical to drive that far or ask someone else to drive that far, and meeting in person is important to me as opposed to video chat. It would be awesome if you added some geolocation features to the free version, I understand that you need to incentivize the pro version, but maybe you could shoot for something like 3 people in my area per 15 swipes with the free version, and 10-15 for the paid version.
Other than that, I love the concept and it will be a great tool for meeting others with similar interests, networking, and career building.

This is a great concept, but a terrible app.
Needs Growth 3/5
By Bean Witch
Shapr has so much potential. I wish it allowed you to upload more images of your work, because it would be a great feature for visual careers. The description isn’t long enough for users who have a wide variety of skills and multiple projects to offer. It’s also strange that the number of swipes are rationed, if you don’t pay for premium. I hope the app grows more users, because there is currently a very small pool to pull from.
Love the concept of the app but it keeps matching me with people I didn’t swipe and match with??
So far I’ve only found people trying to sell me something 3/5
I’ve used this app for a month now, so far the only people I’ve met are interested in getting me into their pyramid scheme or convert me to their religion. I don’t know whether it’s only me or if this happens to all people. I’ll continue checking out this app and see whether I can find someone who’s actually worth networking with. So far sales seems to be the main thing going on everywhere.
App does not allow you to sign up🤷🏽♀️ 1/5
First screen- 502 Getaway Error.... Perhaps I can provide a review once you can create an account
Must pay. 1/5
The idea of this app sounds great. But the free version is basically useless. You do not get any type of use from it unless you pay. Just a heads up for anyone looking for free app to network this is not it.
Amazing app for networking! 5/5
As an introvert, it’s very hard for me to go out and actively talk to people and because of this I’ve started reaching out to more people via social media and things of the like. Shapr has alllowed me to explore a platform which enables me to meet new people who have similar goals and interests, and actually act upon our connection through voice calls, video calls, coffee meetups, etc. Everything is really simple, too. You fill out basic information about yourself and from there you can add goals and tags relating to your interests. From there, Shapr sends you a batch of people based on your goals and interests. You swipe right if you’d like to meet with a person, and left if you’d prefer not to. Think Tinder and LinkedIn in one app.
I got a paid summer internship from this app. I was able to eventually connect this individual on LinkedIn and DM’d him my resume. Without this shapr app, there is a 100% chance I would have not known about this. The opportunities are endless.
Not too bad 4/5
It's a great way to connect with folks. The only problem is that it always says I have a notification when I don't and get frustrated not knowing when I do and don't. Can you fix this please??
What do you get when you put the world's sales people on one app? 1/5
A terrible experience.
And one last time, no! I'm not interested in joining your scammy MLM.
I don’t want to pay to search 1/5
I shouldn’t have to pay to LOOK for a job. Obviously something isn’t working out right here. ...I don’t have money...I need money to look for a job... I need a job to have money. Terrible model.
Not too sure about this 2/5
I just started using Shapr. And first off, to search someone and then connect with whoever appears under the search results you must pay for the app. The next thing is that I’m unsure how many of the people on the app are using it for its intended purpose which is to find jobs, not find dates. So I think it’s slightly tricky/ can get unprofessional very quickly unfortunately.
Tough to Build a Base When You Charge From The Start 3/5
Free version has to be better. I understand it’s a business made to make money but all successful platforms (LinkedIn, facebook, tinder) give you much more access to the app in the free version and didn’t start out gauging people. The stacks are way too small and the waiting time in between swipes is insane. Decent concept.
Frustrated because the freaking upgrade ad keeps popping up, and you can’t exit back in to the app. There isn’t a “No Thanks” button to go back to swiping. Pointless app.
Pay for everything 1/5
There isn’t anything on this app you don’t pay for. Goofy.
If course I have to pay 1/5
Show me an ad if that’s how it’s gotta be but how are you gonna tell me I have matches I can’t see unless I pay. Time is of the essence in finding a job why limit my number of swipes at one time????
Limited people 3/5
I don’t like that the app only allows you to see a few people every day. If you are trying to build a large business fast then you need more people in front of your opportunity everyday!
BE CARFUL! 5/5
By S.Millie’s iPhone 6
I’ve been using this app for a few months and I can for certain guarantee to anyone who’s not oblivious to trickery that this app is a complete waste of time. There are many fake profiles that will message you and you’ll be able to spot them after while. Also, I ran into plenty of people who are a complete waste of time, and most of them only want a hook up aka free. Last week I ran into a stalker on the app. Completely crazy. So I suggest taking all of your social media links off your shapr profiles for safety. Ultimately I do not pay for apps if there’s no positive outcome within 3 months. And there hasn’t been. So I highly suggest not wasting your money.
Does not live up to expectations. 2/5
By Content snapper
Shapr has a lot of promise, but doesn’t live up to expectations. No matter how I configure my profile so that I can get matches within my desired field, Shapr is more interested in showing me skateboard enthusiasts and models. The search feature allows me to find the people that I actually want to connect with, BUT if you want to actually swipe right on those people, you need to purchase Shapr PRO for $20. Without access to networking within my field, this app is not useful to me.
Great potential. Useless execution. 1/5
Useless for the unemployed. Potential matches with employers hiring in your field, or even in your area? No, but here’s a group of other people in your field who are also job seeking. Want a few more, non-relevant “potential” matches? That’ll be $20 a month, or $100 for a year. Want to search specifically for your needs? Sure, but you can’t do anything about it unless you pay.
Where’s the networking 1/5
I gave a try to this app for a couple of weeks. Outside the constant paywall reminder and push notifications about how much better it would be if you paid, networking is nonexistent. I matched with a couple of people and they never returned any of the messages. Not sure if all profiles are real. It’s a good concept but not currently working.
Best way to develop your network 5/5
Works better than anything else to meet people outside of your direct industry or network
Wish it worked 1/5
After trying to sign in via LinkedIn and failing numerous times I created an account the old fashioned way. Had a really rocky time with setting up my profile. The auto suggest tag system process was painfully slow. I eventually gave up on that too.
After the exiting the buggy on-boarding experience I was presented yet another roadblock! The landing page that was supposed to help me discover others threw another error.
Are you servers overloaded? I would suggest you turn off new user registration or the ability to login until you get these issues addressed.
As a new user I was very disappointed. Seems like a cool idea! Too bad its so fundamentally broken.
Ill try again sometime. Hoping for a much better experience in the future.
They will charge you the full 69.99 instead of the monthly charge. Not enough matches in my area to justify using this app.
The leading mobile networking platform! 5/5
A ton of great connections that I’ve made in Shapr, after already having to use this for a couple years now!
Note to the developer(s): please invest in upgrading the platform’s interface/experience even further - this app has so much potential
Member for Two Years. Useless App. 1/5
By The Syndicate
The casual networking in this app is a complete waste of time. It got me nowhere. Almost nobody returns messages. When they do it is always a waste of a meetup. Do not waste your time or money on this. It’s far better to go to actual networking events.
The paywall comes up, part of it doesn’t show and as a result there’s no way to click out of it!
Nothing yet 3/5
So far it seems most individuals are wanting to sell me on a new job or trying to help kick start a work from home job. Makes it seem like most are here just to recruit people and not make a real connection. I’ve been on it 2 months and it’s the same message of “I am here to help others kick start a new opportunity working etc.”
Would be interesting to know how we match since most I’ve matched with don’t have the selections I’ve put and the location too. Seems more of the profiles may be fake. I was excited to try since I just relocated and an article made it seem they connected with authentic individuals who want a meaningful connection and to gain new knowledge.
Still will try but not going to pay for the upgrade again sadly.
Perfect for networking 5/5

Free version limitations are too much 2/5
After investing quite a lot of time filling out my profile, I try the search experience. I can't swipe a single person left or right because the pay wall pops up each time I try. I was hoping to get a sense of the people I'd able to find, but this is too aggressive. Unfortunately deleted my account because this is not a great way to establish user trust.
