Great if looking for coffee shop company 1/5
Everyone wants to meet up for no reason. You being the goal oriented individual that you are download shapr with a specific purpose in mind. You want to create X and you’re looking to build a team. Unfortunately everyone else using Shapr isn’t as goal oriented or strategic as you are and they match with you, have no interest or ability to contribute to X, but still try to set up a time to meet in real life and get coffee. Why? Is everyone on this app out of work? Why does everyone suggest meeting for coffee right off the back. Caliber of people using this app leaves much to be desired.
No matches for me, ever. 2/5
Have downloaded and tried this app twice now. Both times I was shown an endless array of men. Maybe 1 in each set of 15 was a woman. I’m seeking to network with women in my industry. Apparently Shapr doesn’t know how to attract any women to the app. Perhaps they haven’t tried very hard. Super disappointed to not see anyone on the app that I could remotely relate to. Deleted.
Untrue notifications 2/5
“5 people in your batch swiped right on you”. Just isn’t true. Plus I got that notification while I was in Atlanta, but when I opened my batch (after getting off a plane in Orlando) all of my matches were from Orlando - so it does not create your batch until you open the app. The reminder notifications are untrue and bait-ish.
Total waste 1/5
What a waste of money.
This application has a interesting way of going about meeting new people to network.
I like it set up
Good idea, overpriced and, under delivers. 3/5
Good idea but the paywall is too expensive and gates off very foundational features. I.e search
Sifting through a bunch of irrelevant profiles which are hundreds of miles away with maybe one or two locals every so often has made me decide to delete the app.
No way would it be worth $20 for a month of “Pro” based on what I’ve seen.
If making it in your industry requires networking, this app should be a career-changer... in theory. So far most of the accounts I’ve come across are basically empty and so far I’ve only had one actual conversation despite using this app consistently for a few weeks now. Also, Shapr Pro is comically overpriced for features that honestly should be free, perhaps with ads.
Only useful if you pay 1/5
Another rich get richer app! Thanks!
Don’t waste your time or money 1/5
It seems that most of the people on this app are trying to get you to buy into their pyramid scheme.
This is NO LinkedIn! Proceed with caution!
Too many MLM & Forex trading people on here. Ruins the quality of the app
Could be better 3/5
You fill out a profile with few details about yourself, and you can choose to add links to your social media.
It works a lot like Tinder where someone views your profile and swipe left or right.
I think the profiles should have a small space where people can at least write a bit introducing themselves so at least we can understand what type of person they are.
By making it like Tinder, a good number of the people here are also using this as a dating site for young professionals, which is not exactly what I want.
Love the app but need to report a bug. 4/5
I've met some great, like-minded people in my area but I want to report a bug, which is that the Upgrade notice can't be skipped because the button to close it is off the screen. Didn't find anything helpful on the support site.
It’s alright 2/5
I’m not a big fan of needing to pay to be able to see who has swiped right. I get the purpose of generating money from the app I just started and can’t get anywhere to see if it’s worth paying for. So it’s pretty weak and don’t see me using it much if at all.
Great way to make connections. 5/5
This app is a great way to make connections and network with like minded people and to also land jobs that you usually wouldn’t get based building a relationship with people from this app. Many opportunities and great way to network.
Very good so far 5/5
Using this app for about three months now and I matched with some interesting and think-alike people.
Interesting concept but, 9 out of 10 daily swipes are to people who aren’t in my market (or city, state or even country). Additionally, most of the people have no interest in actually meeting and some just use hard sales tactics without even getting to know your needs, wants, etc. There no easy way to network other than putting yourself out there and do it. I’ll give it a few more weeks to see if the app learns where I am and provides better match opportunities and people who actually want to network, other this app is destine for the delete folder.
Wayyyyy too limited 1/5
By Da Saber
You get 5 rando swipes per day before hiding everything behind a pay wall. Such clickbait
Great Idea with Some Bugs 3/5
By Mike J.K.
The concept is fantastic, but the messenger seems to have some bugs that need to be worked out.
Not what you think 1/5
By truthteller 738
I though I was going to be searching for job opportunities but it just shows you other people in the area that you can meet who are working or searching for jobs. This is not a job finder.
Doesn’t work 1/5
The app wont work. Every time I try opening it it says “...An error occurred while retrieving fail batch.” I tried contacting them to fix it but it keeps on saying I don’t have an email on file, when I really do, so the app won’t let me even reach out to them.
Bugs bugs bugs 1/5
By Val L.
How come when you buy a payed plan you see suggestions of people you had already swiped left?
When you type and send messages they might just disappear instead of getting delivered ...
I hope you guys can make this app better!! Maybe you should change the framework you using and go native
I feel like I have short term memory loss 2/5
My messages are glitched in different order every time i get on the app. My messages aren’t getting through to people even through it says it’s sent. I’ve even been kicked out of threads in the middle of responding to people. Please fix it
Don’t Install App. Data mining App WITHOUT consent 1/5
By Ambition Fashion Magazine
Shapr is far from a networking app. Often people whom you’ve matched with do not even know that you’ve matched. As a seasoned pro in the arts for over 45 years and counting. This app doesn’t even ‘nudge’, or notify the person that you are a business match. I’ve had people whom are far from the industry on this app that didn’t know we’ve connected. From a food services worker to ‘retired’ person which doesn’t fit the bill.
When you attempt to remove a specific person by ‘unmatched’ category, it remains on your ‘say hello’ contact.
****get rid of this app permanently****
Way too many bugs and glitches when you sync your LinkedIn profile with the app.
This is just a glorified amped up Craigslist app that has no relevance in the algorithm it’s created. Nor any business association with LinkedIn. It’s obviously has nothing to begin with. So why does it use LinkedIn if it’s such a wonderful networking app...? It doesn’t and it won’t on my end. WOT.
Not what you’re hoping for 1/5
Not available in A LOT of areas. Which you don’t find out until you start paying for it. Would not give a refund. Basically a scam or a company riding the wave trying to get all the money they can while it’s hot.
Market Level Marketing Clarity 5/5
I’m still testing out the app but there does need to more clarity when folks want others to become a part of their “team”. It’s not wrong it’s just not the same as looking to hire someone.
Glitchy. Way Too Glitchy! 1/5
By S.Millie’s iPhone 6
App will not sync your messages. I'm starting to think they do this on purpose so you'll buy a subscription. I get message alerts but when go to them they're not there most of the time. And YES I'm on Wifi so don't try it!
Just What I Needed! 5/5
By Wellness App
Linkedin has been the social network I have used most to generate leads and connect to other professionals. This automated tool takes the guesswork out of reaching out to prospects and likeminded people everywhere.
Prospecting and finding needed services can be done in a clear focused way. I can reach out to the right people without being intrusive.
Why do I get Canada in Portland? 2/5
There should be a proximity Slater on here. I want to do business in my local area, not in other states or countries.
Also, the messaging widget is finicky and sometimes does not send till much much later and by then we have already attempted to resend the message a few times and then 5 show up on the other end or our end.
Features hidden behind paywall 2/5
So, it’s an interesting concept, except 90% of what you want to do with the app is hidden behind paying for a subscription. They’ll tell you that you can message your matches, but unless that person actually subscribed, they’re not going to be able to respond to your swipe. You’re better off using other networking methods unless you have the ability to pay for it. You can set up your account and interests, but if anyone swipes right on you, you are unable to respond unless you subscribe. Most of the users aren’t going to pay the $20/month just to maybe get a match that meets their standards. At least you can view their linked accounts, so if you do use the free version, make sure to link your third party accounts.
For an app that’s clearly still growing the subscriptions they are asking for is a rip off.
Not for blue collar 1/5
This apps isn’t for people who work with their hands who are looking for better opportunities.
Pointless if you get the free version 1/5
Mostly men on the app, so hard to find fellow women to network with. Also you get matched in other cities, so you don’t get mostly local matches. The matches I did get totally flaked. I only used the free version. Don’t bother.
Lot of room for improvement 2/5
I am using this app to connect people. But I come across any random people who are not matching the criteria I am looking for. Then I have to pay to see who swiped me right. That is discouraging.
App w/ Potential? Not too sure 2/5
App has potential, but decides to charge you before even using it effectively. Before i even figure out how to sort out my interests and match with the right prospects - they decided to place a pay wall on my profile.
As a digital marketer, they fail to first reel you in with the value that this app can have.
I.e. first allow user to use it with all features for x amount of days, once you see that you have effectively used this and even started networking successfully, then i may be more inclined to pay for the subscription. Offer value for free- then someone may be more inclined to pay for it! Really simple guys!
After seeing many of the same complaints it seems management are not interested in really becoming the leader in networking apps available for businesses. Unfulfilled potential in my eyes
Seriously annoying notification bug 3/5
When I get a new match I have to click on the match, close the app, restart the app, anything to get the notification go away. As someone who hates having notifications on their home screen it’s seriously annoying.
I just paid for one month subscription. Still can’t use the features. Does this take time to activate ? Kindly respond ASAP
They want $ more than they want to be useful 1/5
Getting no results from this app. Limiting the number of swipes per day is pointless, other than trying to get $$$ out of you. Or maybe there just aren’t enough users. The one person who actually proactively contacted me lives nowhere near me.
In app purchases 1/5
Are way too overpriced. Can’t even swipe right or message people without forking over a significant amount of money. Pass.
Don’t let this app fool you.. 1/5
You absolutely have to pay to use this app in any real capacity. They give you about 5 swipes and then make you pay for more, or wait 5 hours.
The app is completely gimped by that paywall. There is no actual use for this app unless you pay.
Not recommended for people looking for jobs 1/5
People who put ‘hire employees’ are headhunting other talents through people who are looking for jobs, and people who are looking to connect and network, very few are really talented and looking to share and discover what other individuals are capable of, which I could have easily find it on any other social platforms that do not require me to fork out a substantial amount of money to just network
From my experience no one on this app is serious 1/5
I have been using this app for well over a year and I have made so many connections and none of them are serious about doing business. I would say just use LinkedIn.
We need more 3/5
This app has wonderful potential, however, the in-app purchase is too forced. Having connections with professionals in the field is a wonderful thing and we shouldn’t have to pay $20/month (Which is absolutely absurd) just to send one message to a professional who swipes right on you. Also, you only get 12 swipes per 24 hours or so and you even count the X’ed swipes which is also bad. In a world where individuals are only trying to better themselves, you are forcing us to pay for this app when it’s inconveniencing us badly. Your UX/UI for Mobile is frustrating because it gives us no valuable inspiration aside from a quote that is way too large and then another forced ad to buy your PRO version. I want this app to succeed, but you need to fix a lot of things in order for that to happen.
Very restrictive, some accounts seem fake 2/5
I don’t like how you only get to see so many profiles per day. Also, many of the accounts I’m shown seem fake... I would be careful about putting personal social media’s on the account because of this. Also, there are rarely people from my area on this app. Great concept but it still has flaws
Nice app 4/5
This app works kind like Tinder and Bumble except it’s for making professional connections or those you have a mutual interest in a particular field. The free version allows you to swipe on about fifteen profiles a day. If you and another person swipe left, then it’s a match and you’re able to communicate. The negatives don’t have anything to do with the app itself, but the people that create profiles. I’ve mistakenly swiped on a mutual match who is suddenly sales pitchy or persistently how they can offer their services to me. Um...I never said I was interested in buying anything from you buddy. Those profiles get a quick block and unmatch. I’m here to network and get to know like minded people not have a bunch of people spam me and try to make me buy their products. That’s not how to sell.
Money grabbers 1/5
Tinder like app which tries to charge you money to from the first time you try to swipe right on connections.
By Tommaso t.
Could not have enough time to learn and here they charge. Uninteresting profiles.
Great app, but a few glitches 3/5
I’ve met some great people on the app since joining last year. My only flag is that there are a few tech glitches. The most annoying is that the same person appears in my results daily, whether I ‘like’ them or not. No issues with the person - she seems lovely. But I would love to ‘meet’ someone new.
LinkedIn for 2019 4/5
By a 20 something professional
It’s described to be like Tinder for Professionals.
In essence, it’s a LinkedIn updated for 2019, encouraging connection and networking between peers in different industries with similar interests.
I’m enjoying it so far, and recommend that you try it out.
I’ve already started talking to several different people, and feel energized to network more actively, given that my primary experience doing so has been through conference events.
Which I love, I do enjoy meeting new people, but I also have to recharge from for weeks after (introvert probs).
This gives you 10-ish matches to look from per day, and you can connect or not.
But it doesn’t overwhelm with choices, and sets you up to be able to grow your circle without the introvert exhaustion from peopling in quantity and sorting everything out yourself.
Garbage App 1/5
Limited to 12 swipes every 5 hours. They want to charge you $20 a month for unlimited swipes. All just to meet a whole bunch of people looking for a new job too. Truly useless and a cheesy interface. Garbage just like Tinder.
