    I waited with anticipation for Patrick Melrose. I watched the first episode yesterday. What I saw was a self-indulgent descent into gratuitous self-flagellation by the Producers and Showtime. I suppose Showtime feels as if it has arrived and has no further obligation to its audience, who heretofore have insisted upon shows that earn the viewers trust and admiration, through excellence (e.g. Dexter/Homeland/Billions, etc.). This seemed to be a vision of get the right star with name recognition and buzz and throw enough self-abusive, self-indulgent gimmicks in to “wow”the counter-culture avant-garde, with no real creativity or value, and that will be enough to launch another profitable series. Reputation and excellence are not as important anymore. I like counter-culture as much as the next person, provided its intelligently and well done. Your team needs to look in the mirror on this one, so far. Hopefully, you don’t just listen to yr sheep-like sycophants. Regards, Patrick Walsh

    Was logged out of our AppleTV Showtime Anytime App. So followed the instructions on the TV to activate the App again. Said to go to showtimeanytime.com/activate and enter code. Only when you do this using an IOS device, it directs you to the App. But no further instructions how to activate AppleTV device. Thanks to good old google found out there is a new way to activate by going into the App settings and activate any device. Try updating your instructions on the AppleTV, which would save a lot of user frustration. ***your response ignored the fact I fixed my own issue using google. YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR APP INSTRUCTIONS concerning logging on through APPLETV. Try reading the user review before answering with canned information.

    I use this app to watch downloaded shows on the airplane every week. This new view of the downloads (in this MASSIVE list vs. smaller squares) is ridiculous. It is inefficient use of the space and much more difficult to find what you need. Again, change is not always good - this is a perfect example.

    I’m already paying $160 a month through my cable provider for access to your channel... but I have to register my personal information on Showtime servers?... that’s BS... so is the fact that every time I concede and try to register ERROR ON SERVER... ERROR ON SERVER... ERROR ON SERVER... over and over and over and over.... what a joke of an app and support.

    It’s a shame that they keep issuing updates for the app to fix “bugs” but the issues are still there. I’ve literally tried watching ONE movie all day and couldn’t get it to play. It just kept saying it was casting but it never did and then gave an error message that the app had been disconnected while trying to cast which is a bunch of bull because I just let it do its thing and it wouldn’t work. I uninstalled the app, reset my phone, reset chrome cast devise, i even reset my tv and NOTHING WORKED! Fix it for once and for all please!!!

    While using showtime anytime to watch my favorite series I ran into the issue that the app only allows for playback to resume so if I fell asleep during the auto play feature you have to manually rewind the episode. No feature to restart or rewind faster. Also app periodically gives an error message with the inability to connect. Favorites are saved with the same time remaining when last watched so rewind issue pops up again. I love showtime but this version of the showtime anytime app is flawed

    Blocks portrait mode for no reason. Randomly "expires" downloads for no reason, and to make it even more pointlessly annoying, you can't just re-new a download, you have to delete it and then re-download what you just deleted. Awesome...

    Update: Deleted cookies and website data and it’s still not working! Your customers have been complaining about this issue for years. Do a google search and you’ll find this issue has confounded your customers since the app’s inception. FIX THE ISSUE!!! ==== Like so many other users, I’m constantly being logged out, and then I’m unable to log back in. After entering my TV provider credentials, which are correct, I receive a blank TV provider authentication screen. Frustrating since I pay for Showtime. This is been an ongoing problem with this app for years. Developers steadfastly refused to fix it. I’ll have to reevaluate my relationship with Showtime going forward. Are use several other television apps and none of them are problematic like this one.

    I am on version 3.4.3 and after I successfully login using my Vue account the app just sits on a screen that says successfully logged in and does not redirect anywhere so I hit the back button and I’m still considered logged out even though I successfully logged in.

    The new version of this really stinks on the Apple TV. When you go back into the app after watching a series, it doesn’t take you back to the last show you watched. It keeps you going back to the very first one so it is hard to track where you are and you have to scroll through each episode figure out where you are. Be great if it would go back to the way used to be where it would take you back to the last episode you watched.

    This app is extremely frustrating. I download several movies to watch on my iPad and iPhone and every so often the app logs me out and erases all my downloads. Not worth having showtime if you are just going to keep deleting my downloads all the time!

    I have my Apple TV set to match the frame rate of the content, but everything in this app is 60Hz. The shows/movies are not playing in their native frame rate.

    Has trouble keeping track of play position on downloads. Could use more controls on video playback. Navigating back to your place in a series often requires manually locating the season and episode you want, which is a nuisance. But serves its function well.

    Apple TV app consistently logs me out and, the kicker, you have to download the app on iOS or access it on a physical computer to activate. Yeah it’s great when it works, but this bug prevents any of that. 4.5+ ⭐️ is a joke

    I love the shows, I hate the app. Signs me out mid-show, then because I’m on home WiFi I don’t even have to sign back in, just goes back to playing. Comes back from sleep out of lip synch. No fast forward option over opening credits, in fact no fast forward at all. HBO rocks. This app damages your brand.

    I had the same problem trying to access ShowTime thru the app on my iPad. Log on by xifinty...nothing. Back up, try again, nothing. Did it about 10 cycles. THEN instead of Trying to move forward I double clicked my home button on the iPad and closed the app entirely. When I open the app after that I was instantly prompted to create a showtime account with user I’d and password, agree to terms if service (if you read it all it will take 3 days) and NOW I can watch showtime on mr iPad. I am sure I will now love the service but three stars because a lot of my time was wasted. I’m a nurse...but should maybe work for showtime.

    Apr 2018 update - it’s still ridiculous that Showtime requires you to install an app on your phone to use Showtime on your TV on your Apple TV (all other providers have a simple website where you login + enter a code for device activation). What’s worse is once within their app, Showtime buries the activate AppleTV option hidden in the settings menu. The useless message they display on your Apple TV tells you to visit a website (message on TV doesn’t mention app nor where to go in app). Further disappoint comes as Cox isn’t even listed when you go to sign in , in their app, but rather you have to go to the bottom and choose other providers (and then you can access Cox, you know, Cox Cable- one of the largest home TV/Internet providers in the country). None of these three items would be a big deal but for the fact they are all absolutely unique to Showtime and their iPhone / Apple TV experience (or lack of experience). This is what you get for paying $12.95 a month. As I’ve said before they make it so that it’s more convenient to simply get torrents of their content. Content for which you are already paying/subscribing to. Additionally I’m often logged out of the showtime app on my AppleTV necessitating redoing this entire process again. Pathetic, I have to rely on a third-party website to provide information that Showtime should provide their customers, or come across in their internal testing (which clearly doesn’t exist). For some reason I have to pretty often reactivate the Showtime anytime app on my Apple TV for. It says to visit showtime anytime.com/activate, when I visit this dumb URL from an iPad or iPhone, I get the retarded sales screen that forces you to download the iOS app for that device (no activation no cable company login). I have to waste time Google searching this to find out that you activate the Apple TV from within the iPhone/iPad app. Aside from this foolishness above, the app simply socks, as the Showtime, I only use the service for a single show, Homeland, every time I open the app it shows me random shows and I have to go to series homeland and scroll to the proper episode. Just trash. I can torrent then add to plex, this one TV show quicker than dealing with this crap app/service. (And most likely will from here on out).
