SHOWTIME app performance 4/5
Well guys, I’m generally happy - especially that
- the iPhone app casts to Chromecast.
- The app starts quickly, and
- I can switch programs in my list easily with a tap.
My home Internet and WiFi are relatively swift and uncluttered with other users. Only my phone, the Chromecast gizmo (WiFi) and the big computer upstairs (cabled to the modem/WAP). The programming inexplicably hangs up over and over - no matter what I’m watching - and it’s annoying.
I’m super glad this mostly works at all though, and I can get and binge my fave program(s). Thanks!

There’s no skip intro, you can’t see what you’re skipping when you fast forward, where is the subtitles when watching on a television?? Good shows but these tiny things are VERY VERY frustrating!!!

Contributes to the “civil war” going on on in this country. More disinformation; Incites more violence. I find the political promos very disturbing. Because of that I only sign up for a month. Periodically .

No one wants to join in progress for an already filmed show. You’d want to watch the circus from the beginning.
I downloaded this to see if I can watch movies or shows I couldn’t before but when I clicked on the app when it was done downloading it said I had to pay 10$ a month not only that but it said I had to sign in and I don’t even have a account, the app won’t let me creat one. Fix this, it’s horrible I hate apps like this!

App Needs Improvements 2/5
I really enjoy showtime but this app is not very user-friendly. I have issues with it quite often while every other streaming app works fine. It freezes more often than other apps, 50% of the time I can’t get my cast box to appear on this app only. I also find it to be less convenient searching for shows and movies as well. There are a lot of improvements that could be made here and hopefully they take notice for their subscribers paying a monthly fee to use it.

Browses content fine, but “sit and spin” / fails to load streaming content. (Not an internet issue, and has happened almost every time I’ve tried to watch content in the past month.)
Unable to access subscription controls through app; makes it deliberately difficult to cancel.

The titles here are okay. Netflix and other companies have better selection but if you are following a series only found here I guess it is worth the money, other than that its okay.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Content is fine but the app is HORRIBLE. Navigation is terrible and controls are not intuitive. Why is there only a 30 second reverse button?! Who wants that?! Please be normal like other streaming apps and make a 10 sec reverse and forward control. Also include a bigger screen option because the screen is tiny compared to the screen of my iPhone XR. I can’t properly enjoy my show when it’s too small to see. Also WHY ARE THE ADS FULL SCREEN AND THE SHOW SMALLER?! Just make these changes, and I’ll change my review to 5 stars. Ok? Make sure the developers see this because they should know their skills are ABSOLUTE GARBAGE compared to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. Also there are knockoff streaming apps that show B movies and shows that have a better functioning app than Showtime. Get your act together.

I had to write this review because the developers must know that this app can be so much more but simply do not care. Every time this is renewed I get upset that I forgot to cancel my subscription because the app is just a pain to use, and not surprisingly I can’t cancel in the app. It doesn’t mark shows as watched, it’s too much of a pain to fast forward and rewind and the overall all layout of the app is very old school.
Shows are great, movie content can be better but overall it’s the poor app experience that compelled me to write this review.
30sec rewind - too much 4/5
Give us an option to customize the rewind button. So we can change it from 30sec to 15s or 10s or even 5s.
Often rewind just to catch previous sentence 30sec brings you back way to far back.

I’d love to see an option for at least one other account. Like prime Hulu and Netflix offer so family can have their own continue watching
I bought a showtime subscription just to watch Shameless season 11 and the episodes are subpar compared to the seasons on netflix. Do better showtime

Every time I hit play on a new show. The screen greys out and I can’t watch anything. Tried deleting and reinstalling the app to no avail. I’m just going to delete it
Good content but random glitches 3/5
The app works until I go to a movie then it freezes and looks like entire page is highlighted with the cursor like on a pc. I can’t play any movies. Please fix this.

A family share member somehow signed up for showtime with out intending to. Tried to actually use the Apple TV app as long as we were being charged, but even when logged in as the user that purchased it (according to their account subscription) it only said ‘subscription not found'. Eventually gave up and cancelled the subscription. Very disappointed they make so easy to sign up but difficult to use.

This app is TRASH, TRASH, TRASH!! Since im rating the app and not the content you only get 1 star, because i cant make it any lower. For how much money we all pay you think they could fix this trash. The app will constantly pause in the middle of my show and shut down. Anytime I get back on the app and try to resume a show it is never on the right episode that I left it on. When you are searching for any titles and you click on a show to see the info and you go back to the search it’ll take you to the beginning every time so you can never resume the spot where you were just looking. If you click on an episode of a show to see the info there is no way for you to be able to view other episodes or more info about the show without going to the main menu and doing a whole different search, where are you should be able to look up any season or episode through the one you are watching. ILL SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK, THIS APP IS TRASH TRASH TRASH!!
This app logs me out of my tablet literally every day. Sometimes several times. Also the “my list” is far more cumbersome to use than any major streaming service. I suggest getting a refund from whoever developed this disaster.

Solid content but overall the app is rough. YouTube TV, HBO, Netflix are so intuitive. Check them out, get some ideas. Catch up.
I feel like I’m wasting time searching and scrolling for EP 3 of season 4. Open app> search> scroll three seasons > read the tiny box format to find the one I’m on. Alternatively... I see a show I want to watch. I open the show and save episode 1 so I can find it in my list?! I can’t save the season?! I watch the episode...

This is quite possibly the worst media app in the store. The content is top notch but the app...where do i start: iPhone 11 pro max running ios 14+
1. Runs in one mode only - no screen reorientation
2. Does not maintain track of where i stopped watching a show
3. Logs me out intermittently
4. Generally unpolished user flow for downloads

There seem to be a bug within the video player. It refuses to expand the video across screen on my iPhone XS Max. The movie just plays in a tiny box without the ability to pinch and cover the whole screen like it used to do. I tried uninstalling and installing again but with no help. Please fix as soon as possible! Thank you

App is not easily accessible. Then main menu is too small on the opening page. Can not make more than one profile like other premium channel apps, doesn’t automatically go to the next episode when last is complete, and needs a better category breakdown for shows such as most popular. Creator of app should definitely take a look at HBO max or even STARZ in take notes on layouts.
Not Worth the Money 2/5
Showtime has a few good movies and TV series. I like the live TV feature on the Roku app. I’m not a fan of the obvious political agenda, particularly the documentary on Ronald Reagan, which is a hatchet job depicting him as a buffoon with no mind of his own, who let Nancy run the show. I didn’t agree with his politics, but he was in office over 30 years ago and long since deceased, so maybe we should let the man Rest In Peace. I have seen other programming on your network that obviously leans in a certain direction. Whether I agree or not, it is not a very balanced approach.
I’m not renewing because there isn’t enough to watch and because of the app itself — no play from beginning feature and a difficult to use rewind button. You need more movies to make a month to month subscription sustainable.

I can’t even choose a movie or show to watch. I recently just subscribed to the streaming service and downloaded the app. When I click on titles all it does is highlight them. I can’t watch or even download anything. A genuine waste of space do not download this app. Interface controls need to be fixed, as well as needing to consistently login everytime.

Some good some bad 3/5
The good: decent quality video. Lots of programming for the price. Not all of the programming is worth watching but the variety is good.
The bad: the interface is annoying. You can’t make a favorite list of programs you want to see unless you do each episode. Who wants that hassle. I cant find the skip forward option. They have not learned from Netflix. We don’t want to watch the intro and the rehash. It’s several minutes long and it would be nice to skip it.
Subscription failed early 1/5
I have subscription through the end of the month but the app has defaulted to the login screen, I cannot get past it. I’ve tried a hard restart and reinstall on my iPad but didn’t work. Please advise a fix ASAP
Navigation is awful 1/5
This app (on firestick) isn’t just not user friendly, it’s user hostile. If you want to watch a series from the beginning (e.g. Dexter) there’s no way to add the show to a watch list. Every time you log in you have to go to the menu, series, scroll through all shows until you find it, find the season you want (newest first, of course), then the episode. You get to do this every time you log in. If you watch more than one show, you do it for that show too. This is such a fundamental blunder in design that it makes me angry each time I use it. It is mind bogglingly bad. There’s not even a search function to enter the name of the show. You can’t even pick up where you left off because if you go to menu, recently watched it restarts the last episode you watched. The only possible explanation I have for this poorly designed app is that it was created by someone that does not watch television and doesn’t understand how tv shows work.

I only got this to watch some Colbert report video. This isn’t my first free trial, and I know it should be easier than logging into the app, being told to dig into iTunes, not seeing anything there regarding this specific subscription, and being right where I was. It shouldn’t be this hard to stop paying for a subscription. Edit* I found out how to do it, and this may be on Apple’s end or maybe mine. Add in a way to control your subscription through the app, please. I only came to see the thing I did, and I doubt I’m missing much. The UI was buggy, didn’t work as well as other also buggy UI’s with chrome cast. Get with it guys, I know TV money’s drying up, but pay your programmers more.
