Sky Guide app reviews

  • Incredible 5/5

    By Skye McGahan
I’m laying here sad and lonely and on the verge of crying. I didn’t know if there’s anyway I could have peace of mind before going to sleep until I remembered I had sky guide. It’s so beautiful, has amazing music and makes me happy. I wish I could be laying outside and looking at the real stars but this app almost feels like the real thing. So thank you. ❤️
  • Iridium flares & notifications 3/5

    By TCM finder
I don’t receive notification for iridium flares or the ISS. And can’t find out why . This has been going on for over a year. I have my notifications turned on.

I’ve always wondered what I was looking at when I was outside at night and now I can enjoy the stars even more! Especially with all the information that’s available right within the app!
  • Heavenly Bodies - I never saw before! 5/5

    By Ron - Sky Watcher
I just love this app! It has opened my mind to go places I never believed existed! The app is easy to use just point to the sky or what really surprises me, pointing my phone to the floor to see the stars on the other side of the world!
  • Wow 5/5

    By Bob Jones VI
I am very familiar with celestial objects. It’s been a passion my entire life. This app is a delight to use. No need to search for information... it seems to almost come to you. Great app!!!
  • One minor bug 3/5

    By 19ivann94
It’s really cool app with lots of great features, but I’ve always had this problem with the compass were it just turns on and off whenever it wants. I’m always indoors when using the app and have no real need for AR features or the motion sensing. The compass doesn’t care though, it always wants to be on and making turn around the room and makes me lose the star I was just looking at. Makes the app really un-fun to use.
  • Can’t even point me to the moon 1/5

    By Bob 123456889
I can clearly see the moon and it thinks its on the other side of the sky..... huge waste of money. Would not recommend!
  • AR not working? 2/5

    By TheColorBug
I know that Saturn is supposed to be more visible for a bit starting tonight and was hoping to use sky guide to help me find where it was a little easier. However, when I was using it to look at the sky in AR mode, it said that the moon was in a completely different direction than it actually was. Where I was facing was where it was supposed to be according to the app, but it was actually directly behind me, I could see it very clearly. Is this something that can be fixed within the app or does it not take a different time zones into consideration or something?
  • Excellent App 5/5

    By NoBozos911
I have been using this app for years, love all of the detail you can get when you tap on an object (celestial/non-celestial). Not sure about the reports of no tracking, tap on the display and move to your desired direction.
  • Best of its kind 5/5

    By Keiko832
I use Star Guide for telescope use, astrophotography and most commonly star gazing. Don’t waste your money on inferior similar apps, most vary in their degree of inaccuracies. After using Star Guide for almost 2 years, I’ve decided to sign up for Supermassive. As long as updates continue and the app is supported I don’t mind to continue yearly support. Every thing you’d need in a stargazing app is right here. Would rate more stars if could.

  • Not aligning 1/5

    By brrdrr
There seems to be a problem with the app lining up correctly. The compass is off. Not satisfied with this app. Disappointed.
  • New format.... 1/5

    By PeeEnCee
... I enjoyed the older format where you pointed it to the sky and it followed. Unless I’m inept- I can’t figure out the current format. Don’t like it.

  • A dream come alive 5/5

    By KatbTs
I’ve had this app for more than 2 years. And I’ve loved every single bit of it. When I was younger, I wanted to become an astrophysicist or an astronaut. I still do, but my path has now changed into a different direction. My dreams are now so far away, but this app made it closer than ever. The music, the feel. I cry because I love watching the stars and how the world always seems to stop whenever I stare up into the sky. It has become a place of peace for me, a sanctuary from this life. I forget everything, and just imagine myself staring up at a sky that isn’t blue but black. I wish I could ascend above the clouds and see that. And I might just do that. But for now, this app is perfect for a dreamer like me who looks up at the stars and wishes. 💜

Worked for years but now the compass feature doesn’t work and it’s been weeks. I give up on this app, was good not anymore
  • Fascinating 5/5

    By Corbin_Paddock
I'm not much of a star gazer. Regardless, this app is fascinating. If it is also accurate then I am truly mesmerized by being able to see constellations and some explanations on them no matter where I am at any time of the day.
  • Flat or not, the lights in the sky are impressive 5/5

    By Logymommy
My favorite constellation to observe with this app is the chicken musket star patterns. Good grief, those are amazing how they flicker. I really enjoy the accuracy of this app as well. I get to see my ancestors got to see...and my favorite part is picking my own constellations, like connect the dots. I messed up once and used a satellite as part of my creation. I don’t recommend that. It ended up looking like a dumpster fire and not children enjoying a public pool on a hot summer day. Live and learn. LOL.
  • Great app 5/5

    By Zpainter
Great for viewing. We have a summer home away from the city lights. This will show stars and planets. Touch screen gives a bio of what you are looking at... even space junk. I use it every time I’m there.
  • Great App! 5/5

    By Tim & Lilah
The music is eerie and equestrian, and I love it! You can even tap on random stars and see their names. You can search for any celestial object you want, and even track the movement of rockets out in space. It is also a great way to learn about different the mags in space. I love this app!

  • Exactly what I wanted 5/5

    By brizhehuru
This is a good solid app that provides basic AND detailed information.
  • Dark Sky Finder 4/5

    By Bosconian77
I selected this app specifically for the integrated dark sky finder. My understanding was to really enjoy stargazing, one must be in a “dark sky” location. So, my first move was to locate a dark sky area near me but the feature was not readily accessible. I had to email fir support. However, support was excellent as I got a response within hours. I really appreciated that. I would have given 5 stars if only they would make the dark sky locator accessible from the home page. I would still recommend this app to everyone.
  • Hap 5/5

    By happychristiansoldier
I love this app. It maps the sky and shows all of the constellations and you can tap on stars and it tells you about them and shows novas and more deep in space. It shows what is below the horizon and will be rising and the music to is really nice. Thanks guys
  • Not up to date & shows litter 1/5

    By AppleOclock
Recent news says Teegarden has been studied for years but it’s not searchable. This, coupled w adding spaceX starlink litter is just more propaganda in app form.
  • amazing! i use it all the time. 5/5

    By Sophie119
as an astronomy enthusiast this was the perfect app! i live in a highly light-polluted area so seeing what i might be able to see is really interesting and has helped me memorize and pick out constellations. i have very few complaints, but i think i may have found a glitch. i played around with the years, and went back to -8000, in which at 6/18 10:55 A.M. the moon is seen to be enormous. i’m not sure what’s happening, as on other days near the -8000 mark it is seen as extremely small. weird glitches, i assume!
