I’ve been using this app for years now. I love to sit in my backyard on a starry night and use this app to look around the sky and identify everything I see. It really makes me feel a sense of wonder. The interface is thoughtfully designed. I love reading the monthly summaries of what to look for. Because of this app I’ve seen so many meteor showers and planets that I would have missed otherwise. Being able to pick out Saturn or Jupiter is just the coolest thing!
  • Just love it! 5/5

I just love this app so much. I like the soothing background music, the fact that you can see space objects below the horizon, and that you can learn details about the mapped objects.
  • Totally bogus 1/5

  • Worth it. 5/5

    By Jakob Westerlund
It’s amazing, buy it for sure. I love almost everything but here’s a few things for the developers to note. I know you’ve worked very hard on this and I don’t doubt that at all, but just consider the following please?😁: 1. When we click on a planet, then the info tab, then swipe up to get the rotational planet on our screens, it would be cool to tap on it and see a surface view for planets we have pictures of, and if the rotation was more realistic rather than 30ish second day/ night cycles. 2. When we view the planet from behind, I’d love to see its atmosphere as we can see when we photograph a planet when the sun is opposite the planet from our view. 3. I can’t seem to find any moons of other planets? Maybe I’m not looking hard enough but I spent a lot of time looking for 4 of the most prominent moons in our solar system, those being the moons of Jupiter. I couldn’t see any but I was most disappointed to see I couldn’t zoom in on IO and look at the immensely complicated surface features... 4. I would consider maybe just raising the base price of the app instead of having us pay initially and then being slapped in the face with other payments to see “exclusive features”... Anyway, I love the app. I love the work the developers have put into it. I look forward to improvements and new features. THANK YOU!

  • Amazing 5/5

    By bycccccccccccccc
I don’t write reviews that often, but star guide is a beautiful app, and trust me I tried multiple app's if this kind. What I really love about star guide is the fact that it doesn’t cram so many unneeded features into one app, while still having great animation, it’s just wows me that an app can be that great. Another fascinating feature that I crave is that of how many stars it shows information on, unrivaled by any of it’s competition.
  • Compass not working. 2/5

    By fkwocnapcy
Not only is the compass completely off, there’s no way to recalibrate! And the manual coordinates are a waste as well. The purpose of the app is to work with ease..I should have to figure out my coordinates in google and put them into the app just so they can work. This is a waste of money and I should have done my research before buying. I’ve also looked at the other 1 star reviews and no I’m not using a magnetic case. A regular leather case from Apple and I even took that off. This need to be fixed ASAP! I’m only giving two stars because I really enjoy the Greek mythology but I’m sure other apps can do that as well. Ugh
  • My favorite app 5/5

    By Smokydog10
As an amateur amateur astronomer, I love this program.
  • Best app 5/5

    By PRDUNN
This app is what smart phones were meant to run. Exceedingly easy to use. It takes advantage of the best features of the phone and immerses the user in the app. You cannot put your phone down when you use this app.
  • The best app 5/5

    By Svksam
This is the best app you can find in the app store. I have subscription for a year and it’s wonderful worth every penny, my only complain is the compass you have to calibrate it almost always it is never accurate. After you calibrate the compass you close and reopen the app and it still needs calibration which is really annoying. I’ve tried it on 2 different iPhones and on my iPad it is never accurate you have to calibrate it every single time.

  • The best sky guide out there 5/5

    By You #10 GI
It’s not going to get any better than having this app on your iPhone, I’ve been very critical about the changes that have taken place over the past so many months with this app, but you can’t fight city hall and I think anyone who downloads this app will be very happy enjoy.

  • Very informative, Offline use & BEAUTIFUL 5/5

    By @Bjlanz
Buying this app has been a purchase worth every cent. From tracking satellites to finding cluster, this app has it all. The night-time mode is easy on the eyes and great when you’re trying to keep your eyes dilated for the stars. I thoroughly enjoy the tidbits of information it gives on meteor showers (of course for everything else too). It’s a jam-packed tool at your disposal and I recommend this to anyone from beginners to experts. I’m no expert but using this app makes you become one. Amazing product 🙌🏻

Easy to locate objects. Easy to show when objects rise, peak , and set. Shows magnitude, location. You can also zoom in to the object your looking for. Very good data base. Even shows the Owl Open Cluster, rare test of a data base. Most Excellent! Highly recommend!

  • Questions 3/5

    By Coicidence
Worked “great” when I was at the beach and drinking! When I got back home I had questions as the deck furniture, floor, trees etc were also “constellations.” Swashbuckled?!?
  • Wonderful App! 5/5

    By Deckster84
I’m really glad I purchased this app with the supermassive upgrade! I really like the HD images of the deep sky objects. On that subject, please add more of the images in the future, and on the planets maybe add more of the moons and minor bodies. Exoplanets would be great too! Thank you and I look forward to any future updates!
  • Beat free star app 5/5

    By Adds-r-distracting
This is the best. All the other ones have too many ads. Thank you for this app!
  • Great for fun but AR mode is inaccurate 4/5

    By Ahtu12345
It’s perfect except the AR/camera mode is so off that it’s worthless. I was hoping I could use it to at least roughly point a telescope but it’s just not even close to where you point
  • Love this app. 5/5

  • Love this app 5/5

    By Jesus pep
The Compass or location isn’t working right. I look east and it says I’m looking west. Not sure what’s going on. And yes my setting for location is turned on. Your still the best app!!!
  • Nice app, like to see sidereal time on screen 4/5

    By quutedcbhyrcji
You show all the clutter about mythology, why not a choice of showing current LST and coordinates for the brightest or famous objects? (User selectable) More useful!
  • Missing feature? 5/5

    By Crab cake145
Love this app, as I use it to aid in photography, but one of the main reasons I downloaded the app was for the “Dark sky Finder” which is no where to be found in the app. I have pressed every button and every gesture and still have not found it. Help? Update: Found it! There should be a button on the menu specifically for dark sky finder.
  • Amazing app 4/5

    By Vicari0
Fantastic app ! Must have for anyone that loves the night sky ! Sometimes gets off alignment but apart from that pretty flawless !
