Slack app reviews

  • feature 2/5

    By jbreen372
please add ability to hide users icons on mobile. Feature exists on desktop, I don’t see it on mobile.
  • Wish there was a view only mode 3/5

    By fmm794
I want to use the app to stay up to date on key issues while away but I don’t want to always have to mark as unread or bookmark so that when I return I pay full attention vs losing the info. I wish there was an option to never mark items as read when I read them especially when I am out. I technically scan them and not fully read. So don’t want that to count as a read.
  • Vital App 5/5

    By Michael Orlando
I spend hours a day using Slack. It’s one of the easiest apps to use and is a huge value to all the teams I’m on.
  • The app update explanation copywriting is 🔥🔥 5/5

    By ScottTheRecruiter
Whoever is in charge of the iOS app update release notes is a fantastic copywriter. It literally went viral on LinkedIn with how funny, concise, to the point and informative yet casual it is. Hats off to that person or team!!! Also the app is pretty good.
  • Lots of bugs 1/5

    By Mr. Nooooodles
Bugs with unread messages, not syncing, not re-uploading messages with files if the 1st failed.
  • Bug 4/5

    By Egger😂
I really love this app. It’s helpful going into huddles for training for my new job. The only thing I have noticed that’s going on is when the person I’m in a huddle with is viewing my screen and tries to use the marker on my screen to point something out, it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Also it would be nice to choose what colors we get to use to mark on screens.
  • knockoff discord with questionable app icon 2/5

    By little frog lady..
very generic app, with a lot of similarities to discord but for workplaces that force their staff to download new apps. The designer of the icon should reconsider their career choice given how it looks oddly close to a swastika if you look at it for over 5 seconds.
  • Updated and locked out 1/5

    By theblahs
Updated slack now locked out. I am not recognized as a user. BOO
  • Corporate workspace login failures 1/5

Used to be great but since forced updating to 23.03.20 (431118) corporate login isn’t working
  • Horrible to use 1/5

    By mhibfbbkjn
  • Where are the settings to control notifications? 1/5

    By Storying Worldwide
Seriously. How is it I can’t control notifications in iOS and can’t locate said settings in the app settings either?
  • Not user friendly 1/5

    By easy measure
I found the platform messy and convoluted. Of all the platforms out there, this one is the least user friendly I ever worked with.
  • Not Helpful 1/5

    By cmmr9870
Can it be anymore confusing? Apps that try to do everything usually result in doing nothing exceptionally well. Slack is a good example of that. The graphic interface is also horrendous.
  • Awful. 1/5

    By Tissot1
    So hard to figure out.
  • Forced Update 1/5

    By Almoravid
When communication is essential, you know you cannot trust Slack not to insert a mandatory update before you can get your data.
  • No watch app 1/5

    By 13456786323677
The lack of a watch app makes this app useless.
  • Legalities 5/5

    By LHotCat
Dear Slack support, its ownership, and any affiliates, stated or otherwise: I do not consent to or allow any harm or damage occurring directly or indirectly from the use of this site and application or its third parties and imposters. I do not consent to unnecessary physical, metaphysical, or virtual changes or existing errors that I would deem irritating, unattractive, and/or unacceptable. • Essential but the app needs 2 things… 2/5

    By Cstar24/7
Often when I’m typing to someone and I try to hit the arrow to send it pulls up a larger screen to text in; idk what this feature is I’m sure it’s something for coders maybe, but we need the send button to be bigger Huddles do not like my car speaker phone, this needs to work like a phone call
  • Clunky updates 1/5

    By Jonathaz
Too many forced updates (2 in the last week) After each update, forced to login from scratch which shouldn’t be necessary.
  • Easy to Use 4/5

    By esssjayyyy
Easy to use, video calls are hit or miss in groups, needs better functionality to send gifs
  • Amazing Collaborative app 5/5

    By AnujRani
You can do it all, better than text message better than email, better than Skype
  • Updating logged me out of corp account 1/5

    By TimH.InMass
Lazy developers! If you want your users to keep up to date don’t blow away their credentials when they upgrade Slack, this is VERY annoying and seriously inconvenient when traveling and don’t have access to corporate resources to log back on.
  • Checking 3/5

    By thesharadsingh
  • Update UI/UX within App’s Shared url option 3/5

    By Indian101
Hard to locate url for sharing (it should stand out for end users)
  • Issue with giphy in message threads 4/5

    By Betsalets
I can no longer use the giphy command when replying to a message. This functionality still works on desktop, just not on mobile. I miss my gifs!
  • Workspaces keep being removed 1/5

    By bjc05
I didn’t change my Face ID settings.
  • Account issues 1/5

    By Ben Duarte
Awful sign-in experience. Have had this issue for years. Locked out of one account on mobile device and another on laptop. Figure it out!!
  • CEO 5/5

    By Tommy Konja
Such a great way to get everyone on the same page. Haveing the ability to have others get together when sometimes we don’t have the same connection as others do.
  • Bad 1/5

    By Brother_in_Christ
    Can’t read DM’s
  • Excessive messages hard to suppress 1/5

    By Sam Slowinski
Slack is continually dinging me with distracting unhelpful and irrelevant messages that are hard to suppress. In particular, i keep getting a message every time a new member joins my group. I still cannot figure out how to suppress these messages, even after reading several technical support guides.
  • The most useful feature is gone for free accounts 1/5

    By Dshan851492
Heads up your messages expire after 90 days now. So if you were anything like my small business that used to refer to slack for precedent or procedure, it’s kind of back to square one. Still trying to figure out if it’s worth paying for this feature or just figuring it out somewhere else.
  • Desktop and iPhone sync 2/5

    By ApPingel
I cannot get a direct answer as to why the installed iPhone app is not syncing (updating) with my desktop slack.
  • iOS is buggy; search difficult 2/5

    By dougryan
iOS has lots of little different bugs. On all platforms, search is difficult to use. Notification controls are insufficient for Medium/large companies.
  • No more emoji from photos :( 4/5

Idk if it just happened today with an update or something, but I noticed a feature where you can make your own emoji from your photos. I didn’t get to use it earlier, and now it’s gone. :( What happened? The app is pretty cool, I like all the cool features!
  • iPad 3/5

    By Npostusa
Application does not work well using iPhone app and iPad. Seems like my password will only work for one or the other?
  • Channels? Wth 2/5

    By Crazygrenade
The part of this app that is utterly confusing are the “channels.” Just give us one freakin place of messaging why do you have to make it so extra and complex just wth. Put it all in one spot please!
  • Good app 5/5

    By Bellabelena
    Very handy
  • Custom notifications broken 2/5

    By ocsufed
When you try to turn off notifications for the day on Mondays, it automatically turns them off on Fridays as well. You should be able to have one disabled without the other.
  • Inconsistently Applies Nonexistent “Acceptable Use Policy” Rules 1/5

    By Mrquietgeek
So, Slack apparently has decided that it will inconsistently apply what it seems its “Acceptable Use Policy.” However, there are examples of users who have been suspended or banned for violating this policy, yet Slack won’t even inform them of what they did to violate this policy. While Slack is certainly free to ban any user they want, that means that every user now has to worry about whether they’re going to inadvertently violate some random, unspecified policy. This is not a way to engender trust of your users.
  • Protects pedophiles and trans perverts 1/5

    By arrivedercifrog
You go out of your way to stop woman protecting their body or their children. Your archives perhaps should be checked why you prefer perverts as customers? What services you provide them?
  • Worst App ever 1/5

    By Colvy
I mean any app that has a trouble shooting section on why push notifications aren’t being received. And then states if you still are having trouble to delete and reinstall has some serious issues with its build. FYI. Still only randomly receiving notifications. Which is a total pain. The issue has been going on for almost a year now. Also see if you can figure out how to sign out of the app or change accounts.
  • Kicked Libs of Tic Toc off for posting Publix videos 1/5

    By Nashville Closets
This and their parent company Salesforce despise conservatives, delete your account and find someone willing to keep politics out of their company, or find a conservative alternative.
  • Overly complex 1/5

    By Earl Goodwick
Does more than groupme but all the bells and whistles are unnecessary.
  • Poor app overall 1/5

    By Jm5799
Massaging system doesn’t work well and the functionality of the groups and communication is convoluted. Notifications rarely work properly even after constant correction of settings. If that isn’t enough the company is now in favor or censorship of non violent speech.
  • Slacks amazing! 5/5

    By pickelbottom
We use it for our homeschool group. It’s so helpful!
  • Great app 4/5

    By C. Rozé
One piece of feedback: would love to be able to change the emojis in the drawer that opens when you long press a message. It’s be nice to have those 4 emojis to whatever you want, instead of having to press the 5th button in the right to open the whole emoji picker and have to choose/search for it manually.
  • Another Far Left Political Organization 1/5

    By JimboVA
So, Slack ignored its own terms of agreement by suspending access and downloaded intellectual property of a business user (FAIR) without notice because the immigration laws the client was supporting does not align with Slack’s political views. Make sure your political views align with Slack because it appears the terms of use will not apply to you or your organization. UPDATE: Slack continues to enforce its far left political bias. Glad I deleted this app before.
  • Slack- brought to you by Groomers 1/5

    By [email protected]&"1234567898765
Groomers Incorporated brought to you by people who hate you and your kids.
  • Lacking transparency 1/5

    By Tested n' proven
Apparently they might ban you without an explanation if you have a certain level of popularity that they may not personally like.
