Apple Watch Support Removed 2/5
By Island Life
I really hope Apple releases an in-house, first party sleep tracking app. Because I can’t imagine how people who are using apps like Sleep Cycle on a subscription basis are happy with the removal of features like overnight heart rate tracking via Apple Watch. This app has become far less accurate since its removal... and it wasn’t terribly accurate to begin with. If you happen to be the type who quietly lies still in bed for and hour waiting to fall asleep, the data will suggest that you fell asleep within just two minutes 😑 Would that I could fall asleep like that, Sleep Cycle.
Please bring back Apple Watch support so that this app is slightly more accurate again
Really Expensive Subscription 2/5
The only reason I’m giving this two stars is because the app is marketed as if it had an abundance of cool features, but in reality, those features are only available if you buy an outrageously expensive subscription. Without buying a subscription you get the basic alarm function of the app. If you’re looking for an alarm, this is perfect. If you are looking for all the high-tech features, look somewhere else.
Automatically charges yearly price of 50 IT IS A SCAM 1/5
I got charged $50 for the yearly fee. It defaults to the yearly fee. Do not buy. It is also incredibly creepy on how it asks for camera and microphone access?? What the heck??
Tried to cancel right after(same day)- but couldn’t 1/5
Make sure you don’t accidentally sign up for premium trial. You can’t cancel even on the same day they charge you. I prefer my free pillow app so much more.
This app is amazing I woke up happy full of energy and ready to wake up so much better than normal alarms
One Year — My Favorite 4/5
I got an iWatch a year ago Christmas and downloaded a number of the popular sleep apps. After trying them all, I became sorely disappointed in all but the Sleep Cycle app. I still have one other app running in the background (as a backup), but Sleep Cycle is the one I use daily.
That said, it’s still not perfect. The app is easy to read, the stats it gives you easy to understand, the layout is great. I haven’t had any real issues with accuracy. Until recently. The time it takes to fall asleep has recorded some bizarre readings (35 minutes? I don’t think so!). Yet, a recent update stated it fixed that bug. Two weeks ago, when the app was updated with that fix was when I began noticing inaccuracies. I fall asleep quickly and it no longer records that. I don’t know why.
Otherwise I have no complaints.
I would like it to sync wake-up time with my watch, though — rather than having to manually do that on my iPhone as soon as I get up. I forgot to do that this morning. Didn’t remember until 45 minutes later and thus have an inaccurate wake up time (this is where my backup app comes in handy). There is no way to manually fix the inaccuracy either. I wish I could. I don’t want to delete the entire day though.
I will keep using this but will also test new apps as they appear on the market.
Latest Upgrade, Thumbs Down 2/5
This app was perfect until the latest upgrade. All I care about is recording the hours of sleep I get. It will tell you just for that day. This app used to do that. Now it just keeps track of the “quality” of my sleep. The stats don’t keep track of the average number of hours of sleep. My doctors ask me how many hours of sleep are you getting.
Great but need improvements 4/5
I subscribed to this app after a few months using it. Works great and I can finally track my sleep habit with a gentle alarm to wake me up everyday.
My only complain is this app does not support two devices. I thought by subscribing to a premium version, I can use my iPad to do the same, but it turns out I still have to use my iPhone as the iPad does not recognize the subscription.
But overall, great app.
No feedback mechanism 3/5
There is absolutely no way to report bugs or give feedback or requests on creatures. A software company that does not want feedback from its users is a dinosaur and will never be cutting edge. I think I will try a sleep cycle app that is innovating more actively.
Sneaky auto renewal 1/5
I don’t even remember purchasing this app (I tried it and didn’t end up using it), and yet somehow I now have a $32 auto renewal charge. I mean, bro, I don’t even have the app downloaded on my phone anymore. I would give zero stars if I could because that’s lame and y’all literally know it. Congrats on losing a customer and anyone else I can dissuade from atop my soapbox.
Works well! 4/5
I just switched to an iPhone 8 and now the alarm starts off too loud. I prefer a gradual alarm which this was doing until now. While this is a good app, I’m still looking for the right app for me.
Do NOT download !!! 👹👹👹👹👹👹 1/5

After using this sleep app my phone died. Took it to Apple store and they told me that app is draining my phone battery over night. Battery replacement cost me 70USD!!!

BEST SLEEP APP!! 5/5
The only comparable app doesn’t exist. So it’s the best app there is. Love this app!! Thank you
Sleep Talk 5/5
By set and forget
I have the paid version and I’ve been using this for years. The only addition I would make is a sleep talking feature. The snoring recorder is cool but I don’t want to use another app for just that feature.
Otherwise, well done. 10/10 recommend.
Free trial preys on those who forget to cancel 1/5
Not worth signing up because they will try to pin you with a subscription
Random crash and no more watch App 1/5
Used to be a good app till it crashes randomly ! :( also till today no watch app has return . Will be using alternatives
False data 4/5
I’ve recently been getting false records. It keeps saying that It’s been like 55 minutes before I’m asleep and I know that’s not true. I went to bed at 10:30 and woke up at 7 and it said that I only got 7h 12 m of sleep and that’s so far off from true. Before this the app would say that it took me 2 minutes to go to sleep which also wasn’t true. Please help this is so frustrating because I won’t know when I look back what’s true or not.
I wish I slept as good as this app pretends I do 1/5
By emily pepperberry
I was excited to see my sleep records as I’m dorky like that. In a two week period I woke up around 2 am and stayed awake until around 5 and was curious to see what the app would show. When I checked after my final wake up the app claimed I was fast asleep the whole night. The phone was properly placed and plugged in and no one else was in the room. So bummed as this is the most popular app with the best ratings but it’s just not reliable.
Beware of the short trial period and automatic annual renewal. 1/5
By JRT Bob
I got charged $30 for this automatically before I had enough time to decide if I liked it. Now, I don’t care if I like it.
Added 2/8/2020. Apple refused my refund request. Next phone will be an Android.
Added 2/12/2020. Refund granted. SleepCycle team was helpful.
iPhone 11 Pro camera for heart rate 4/5
The camera nearest to the flash should be the one being used for the heart rate detection. Is using the lowest right now in the iPhone 11 Pro
Kicking myself for not discovering sooner 5/5
I am autistic, and falling asleep has always been incredibly difficult for me. This app has drastically changed my life! I’ve tried the free version and premium, and this is actually the second time I am purchasing premium. Lol
I had to make a new iCloud account when my old phone was hacked. I didn’t integrate my old apps into my new phone since the hacker still had that info.
Seldom do I ever subscribe to any apps, but like I mentioned, second time I’m purchasing premium!
Great tool 4/5
Live the app so far. A couple of improvements i would like to see though are:
Auto start app when a charging source is detected on a schedule (Android has this)
Integration with more health apps such as Samsung Health.
Please make it harder to turn the alarm off 3/5
Too many times I’ll reach for my phone, and the subtlest swipe on the screen will turn the alarm off. I have so many nights logged for just a few hours because I wanted to check the time in the middle of the night.
Also seems to be a bug where restarting the sleep aid sound only plays for 10-15 seconds before stopping again.
Latest update broke the app 1/5
By Eric Esquire
Sounds don’t work. Junk app now. Fix it.
Best app ever 5/5
I never right reviews for apps but this app is great it always wakes me up at just the right time and records the data from your sleep all the app will base you sleep off of what you did earlier. I highly recommended
The app was awesome until they removed the watch app so now it has a harder time picking up movements and such and I feel like the app doesn’t give as accurate of information anymore.
Great, when it works. 2/5
Two weeks into using it, the app stopped tracking anything. It recognizes sounds before I go to sleep. But in the morning it says I’ve had 100% and wakes me up at the end of my wake up window. It’s not tracking anymore and honestly useless. Trying to delete and re download the app. 🤞🏼
Was Great but became unreliable 2/5
App keeps randomly stopping sometime during the night. The alarm will suddenly glitch and turn off. This has caused me to over sleep because the alarm I had set randomly deactivated during the night. This has happened several times and I am now losing faith in the app. Please fix this glitch.
Great App!! 5/5
By Kim R. Price
Just ONE issue. My alarms don’t go off and I’ve an infant to feed every 3 hours. If I have a family emergency, it turns off all calls etc and puts on DO NOT DISTURB. If this could be placed as an option to have, that would be great. Otherwise I can’t use this app then.
Game Changer 5/5
I tried to change my sleep pattens and get up earlier for weeks with my normal alarm clock and just couldn’t seem to get on a consistent schedule. With Sleep Cycle it took me two days! I love that it gives me a window and goes off when I’m easiest to wake. It keeps me from feeling groggy or just ignoring the alarm all together and going back to sleep.
I 10/10 would recommend.
i freakin downloaded this bc it was on like instagram or smthn and i was like hey that’s cool THEN ACCIDENTALLY BOUGHT PREMIUM FOR A Y E A R AND DELETED THE APP ONLY TO LATER FOND OUT I WAS MISSING 29.99 SO HERE I AM REDOWNLOADING IT SO I CAN SAY I DIDNT WASTE MONEY
Simoly great 5/5
I have no complaints. Ive been using it since 2010-2011 almost everyday. It works and works. Highly recommended.
Bedtime reminder, Siri Shortcuts, Heart rate, asleep after, snooze 1/5
By Daniel Springer (iOS Dev)
EDIT: asleep after is still broken.
Please start fixing bugs. This is not at all a free app. I’m paying a recurring payment for it, and it’s only right that issues be addressed.
And they are major issues, which make the app almost useless. The idea of the app is great, but the current execution is not at all.
When will things get fixed?
- Sometimes alarm will snooze by itself after the time past which it should never snooze. This can really mess you over with work!
- Please add an option to have a reminder when I need to go to bed to sleep N hours.
- Please add support for Siri Shortcuts, so I can use something like “get asleep time from Sleep Cycle” in the iOS Shortcuts app.
- Please allow downloading multiple sleep sounds at once, and not resetting the download progress the moment I try downloading a different sound.
- Please fix Heart rate on iPhone XR. It takes forever to detect the rate. Literally forever. I tried using it again now, and the screens turns off while the app is trying to detect the heart rate. The app should keep the screen on.
- “Asleep After” is broken. Sometimes it says I was asleep after 2 minutes while I didn’t fall asleep for a while, and other times it says I fell asleep after 30 mins when I’m sure I was sleeping quicker.
- Snoozing is too sensitive. It often snoozes without me doing anything at all.
- Snoozing doesn’t always work. Sometimes double tapping doesn’t snooze.
- Please allow viewing a list of all the sleep notes for which a “Info” button would be added if I were to add that note to my list.
- Please add some detection of sleep apnea.
- Please detect when I’m asleep and pause podcasts if asleep.
- Integrate power nap or “going back to sleep”.
So Good! But 4/5
By ZZzZzZZZ 🥱🥱
Love the app!!! But I think it’d be cool if there was a feature that would analyze the sleep note data more in depth/ could potentially take into your mood (maybe more than 1 a day if a person wants to) with other factors like stress levels diet/appetite, etc. but also, this app is great, and it has improved my sleep time quality. I c potential. my wake up tune is skating from Charlie Brown Christmas. (Compliment sandwich complete)
Love of love 5/5
Head cancer pppp
Loved it but no longer works with Apple Watch ☹️ 3/5
Disappointed it doesn’t work with my watch anymore. The data definitely is not as accurate as it does not always detect when I get up or my movements. So sad ☹️
Do you have an anticipated date for the watch integration?????
CPap Machine 5/5
Love the app but wanted to know if it works accurately with a CPap Machine? I couldn’t find the answer on the app. Thanks.
Good app 4/5
Not a bad app but for some reason the days get mixed up I went to sleep Thursday morning and for some reason it logged it into Wednesdays stats not sure why but it needs to be fixed other then that it's a good app
Best of its kind 5/5
Easily the best app in its space
Love it (again) 5/5
I’ve had a few cranky moments with prior versions of this app (blame it on a bad night’s sleep), but once again Sleep Cycle is my favorite. Thank you for the ambient sounds and stories, and thank you for just working so well. Sincerely.
This app does not track my sleep, but my stealth 2/5
I wear a watch that tracks my heart rate while I sleep. This app and the watch never match. Last night, I got up to pee around 4, and the app says I was in deep sleep the whole time.
It sits on a Qi charger right beside my bed, and I’ve moved it on my bed so it might be more accurate, to no avail.
What this app actually measures is how quiet I am when I get up in the night (spoiler alert: I’m a ninja). At least the gentle wake up is helpful, but that’s free. Don’t pay for the premium. I wish I could get that $30 back. I’d buy a nice bra.
Super cool app.. best sleep app I’ve used. 5/5
Easy, clean, perfect choice. No need to wear a smart watch to sleep. Tracks any and everything you’d wanna know bout your sleep cycle. All captured I. Your sleep journal. Thanks for the awesome features.
DID’NT GET FREE TRIAL 1/5
App is fine but they are false and misleading. Told in description that you can have free month trial and you take offer and no free trial!!! Don’t fall for their false advertising!!
Wake up coordinated 5/5
I haven’t used this app in years but I’m downloading it again because I’ve returned to needing an alarm and this app is the only way I know of to wake myself up at a spot in my sleep cycle where my muscles don’t spend the next fifteen minutes arguing with each other about which movement to make.
Not accurate 2/5
I really liked the old version of sleep cycle but I find this one highly inaccurate. The app thinks I’m asleep when I’m not. I have insomnia in the middle of the night for hours and the app always says I didn’t wake up, I also often lie in bed for awhile awake after my alarm goes off, and it thinks I’m asleep then too. I slept maybe 7.5 hours last night but the app says 9.5, makes my sleep stats useless. I’m going to try the latest update but also start looking for something more reliable.
Great app! 5/5
Love the app, only way it could be better is if it was Apple Watch compatible. Yea, developers, you should do that....
Hi there, love the app and have used it for ages but the last update broke it for us and it’s the one thing an alarm clock can’t do.
I’ve looked elsewhere for a ‘bug report’ forum or otherwise but this is all I could find so my apologies for the 1* review... unless you know an alarm clock is working, you can’t rely on it!
No free subscription 2/5
There’s no way to just have the free benefits. You need to sign up for a 7 day trial and then pay monthly or cancel. Why isn’t there a skip button on that page?
Subscriptions are stupid. 2/5
Why would I pay a subscription for something like this? This is ridiculous, why can’t I just buy the app & let it do its thing? Ppl are pretty dumb for basically giving their money away to these greedy corporations are squeezing every $$ out of ppl. Don’t be stupid, don’t buy into this.
