SlingTV app doesn’t work 1/5
What’s wrong with Sling app? It won’t start no matter how many times I restart my iPhone or delete & download the app again. It’s been like this over a year or more. Think last time I used it without problems was in 2021.
Hard to cancel 1/5
They really don’t make it easy to cancel service. Hard to find how online. I had to use the chat and by the time I figured it out a new billing cycle started. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes they refused to refund me for the new billing cycle.
Assistance in troubleshooting is extremely poor. AitTV will not re-set! We are unable to record programs for later viewing. We have had internet checked and all is well. We have had internet company test all facets of the problems — - no problems at this end. In trying to “chat” with Sling, the message is: 1) “we are having difficulties and are working on it”; 2) “you can call us later to find out if the problem is fixed”. How are we supposed to know when to call? Is the service we pay for? Where is your assistance for the customer? I am searching for a streaming with customer assistance and programming. Shall I ask your suggestions?
Horrible and expensive 1/5
I’ve been a Sling TV customer since the beginning and their streaming arrive is lackluster and expensive.
It freezes and crashes often. And that the tv version not mobile device (which is equally bad).
Sling TV no longer allows customers to clear their Watch history as of a year ago. So programs you watched months ago are still viewed on the continue watching section. I’ve yet to get a reason why this feature was removed.
It’s now equally as expensive as cable. Don’t waste your money. Pass on Sling TV.
Don’t need unnecessary ads 1/5
Hey as a user we like to watch the game live and not have unnecessary commercials while the game is on and we miss the live game feed need to fix that we pay to watch the game not to watch u r commercial the app shuts down itself when u watching something on it that needs to be fixed don’t pay for that . Especially game of cricket we don’t need ads we need pure game of cricket and entertainment

NOT. lost all our recordings, Slings messed up their own programing most of last 30 plus days.

I don’t like the facts when you rewind a tv show or movie for 10 seconds, it’ll replay the advertisements (that’s normally 1-3 minutes long) all over again.

Sling TV’s apps are very glitchy. They are aware of it and there is no timeframe for it to be completed. Most importantly, they are so insecure that they claim not to offer refunds. This only implies that they know the customers would be dissatisfied and would want a refund. So they make us believe that we are trapped.
I paid for 1 month of service. On the third day all of the issues were intolerable. But Sling was already made aware of the issues with no plan to fix it. I asked to be cancelled effectively immediately. They cancelled me then reverted my acct to a free account. I was I was told that the refund would have to come from my bank.
Unfortunately, at that time J banked with Chime. Chime’s response was, they don’t give refunds. Now, I have to file a claim with CFPB against Chime and Sling TV. I only used 3 days of a 1 month subscription that they cancelled. I wasn’t given a refund or a proration. They STOLE MY MONEY. AND CHIME ALLOWED THEM TO DO IT.

Update 2023: Have had Sling a couple of years now. We mostly love it. Not today. Google says the Super Bowl is on Sling Blue. I have Sling Blue. WHY CAN’T I GET THE SUPER BOWL???? Original review: I have been using the app almost a month now. I have been pretty happy with the choices I have. I have been less happy with the performance. I regularly get error messages on my phone and my tablet and can't sign in. It happened again today. I was watching on my phone, and I got a call. When I went back to the show, I got an error message. I tried to sign in to the website to research the error code, but it wouldn't let me. I try to watch the limits on my free DVR recording time, but one morning recently all the recorded programs were just deleted. Only one program was there, recorded that morning. So I like Sling despite the problems, but there are problems.
Update Airtv rescan working 5/5
My Airtv Anywhere is able to rescan channels again. I believe that everything is working good for me now with my Airtv Anywhere. I have not tried to reinstall it, or to change network connections yet. Hope those problems are working good again for everyone too. I don’t know if there was a fix to the latest app version, or if it was another problem that was fixed. Just glad to be able to rescan for channels again.
Didn’t have the channels they said I would get. I immediately asked for a refund and would not give me one

Can’t add AirTV to account. Go to connected devices add AirTV, and it navigates to a blank screen every time and have to shut down the app. Deleted app and re-downloaded it, reset my device, same issue. Used to work fine in the past so assuming this broke in one of the updates. Please fix.

I attempted to sign up for a free trial and received an error message. Two months later I was charged for two months of service, I contacted customer service explained the situation, requested a refund and to cancel the service I never signed up for, clearly they they could see I didn’t have an account however they said there was nothing they could do and terminated the chat without giving any resolution.

Not a single channel that I’m subscribed to is showing up on any app(Roku/iPhone). They say there’s not an outage, but also say that they’re having customer service issues. I can’t even talk to anyone to see if I’ll be refunded for this time that I am not getting what I’ve paid for.

What I said. I tried the channel rescan after moving my antenna and the app does not allow the AirTv anymore. If you try to connect on the internet to Airtv.net, the server is not to be found.
DVR out of sync 2/5
Overall it’s good. My problem has been the last few weeks with the DVR. It doesn’t matter if I’m using the cell signal or Wi-Fi, the audio and video can’t seem to stay in sync. Since this is how I watch almost all my shows it’s useless until it gets fixed.

Fraudulent Charges and No Customer Service 1/5
I recently had an unauthorized upcharge to my account to add something called Globo, and when trying to dispute the upgrade and charge, found that there is literally no way to do so. Customer Service Chat feature is all automated that runs you in circles with no resolution and ultimately tells you to just check Twitter for updates, even if you don’t have Twitter. I guess I’ll report the fraud to my CC company since Sling obviously doesn’t care that their security has been breached.

The app has stopped working on my Samsung TV - keep getting error message - Uh-ho which I guess they think is funny. Rebooted tv several times and still doesn’t work. Cancelled subscription - problem solved
Live streaming is fine but whatever you send to DVR is delayed by a day.

Very Poor DVR Experience 2/5
Since the day I became a Sling member, the DVR experience has been awful. Let’s say I set up to record xyz program, but decide at a later date to cancel the recording. What happens constantly is the xyz program does not stay in the trash. The program records. Do you not test your code for this stuff? Stop asking if I love Sling and spend your time troubleshooting! It is absolutely infuriating.

You would think that they would make it easy to re-subscribe to their service, but they don’t. I spent 30 minutes trying to update my subscription so I could watch ESPN, but I couldn’t do it. I tried on my iPad, through AppleTV and through their website. Nothing worked. I’m sure they lose a lot of customers. I was ready to pay $40 to watch a game and try their service again, but I was left with a “spinning wheel” during my attempts. Your loss Sling.
Latest app broken on Apple TV 1/5
Now the issues are with iPhone app. Can’t login, tried reinstalling the app, restarted the phone. Support team is useless.

Well, have Sling almost a year and I pay for it, but the commercials are ridiculous. Same ones 3-4 times in a row. It’s the PSA’s from Ad Council I find most offensive along with Lume and now one about pubic hair on young women.
When it works it’s okay, but when it doesn’t forget about help. Live tv is good and my cost is $65 a month for what I want, not the $40 they advertised.
Sling not working today 1/5
I spent over an hour trying to contact Sling, first with chat this morning and then with a human this afternoon. Finally I was informed that my error message was a known issue and would hopefully be resolved within a few hours. It’s been over 12 hours and has not been resolved. Since I pay more for Sling than any other service, I hope they will not only resolve the issue but reimburse my for the time the service was down and my time on hold.
The app has constant problems with streaming to chromecast. It will either play something completely different, or get stuck on an endless loop of commercials, or just buffer forever. I am canceling. Not worth paying for it.

This is by far the absolute worst tv option. I cancelled cable because I can’t afford it anymore and signed up for sling but apparently I’m just throwing away 40 a month for it to quite literally NEVER work. I even went out and bought a Chromecast because I was told the apps on that or Roku are better than the smart tv apps and initially it worked but was only a matter of time before it kept giving me an error message. So THEN I had to use the phone app and cast to my tv. Now THAT won’t work.
Don’t bother unplugging or uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Don’t bother restarting your tv or phone. Because that doesn’t work either. Giving it one more week to see if it improves and if not I will be canceling and going elsewhere.

I have been a sling user for 5 years. At first it was great. I only watch like three stations and for that the price was perfect. But slowly over the years the quality kept going down. Finally, reluctantly, after being at home with the flu and having to deal with absolutely atrocious performance from the app, I switched to a different streaming service last night. The differences are like night and day.
Seriously Sling, fire your entire IT staff and pick up some of the software engineers Silicon Valley seem to be laying off Willy Nilly. You were a decent service once.
More price increases 1/5
Price went up $5 for ABC which I’ll never watch & don’t care about. This is second increase in a matter of months and service is still spotty and unreliable. Time for a change I think!

Be careful once you cancel make sure you delete the app because they charged me because I was logged in despite I didn’t watch it at all.
Calling them they understood the situation but still didn’t issue the refund.
