Notifications do not work 2/5
Main reason I purchased this was so I can receive notifications when my front door was left unlocked.
Notifications aren’t working 1/5
I have pit a water leak sensor in the plate with water and voila! nothing appears on my phone. Waited 10 minutes and still nothing!
The only way to see if there is a leak is actually to open the app, but no push notifications appeared. Yes app is allowed in iphone settings to send notifications and yes sensor is configured correctly! What a point of all this if it doesn’t notify me????
So much hopes and still waiting 1/5
At each updates the hopes are sky unfulfilled.
The old version is still required to perform simple things such as renaming done devices.
For unknown reasons the automations are not loaded in the apps if they have not been created by the new version of the apps. You have therefore things running but not modifiable on the app.
Still waiting for the real app
iPad Landscape Support 4/5
This would be nice to have Landscape Support on the iPad. Over all everything else works as designed but very annoying that I need to hold my iPad in portrait mode to do anything.
New App misses features from the previous version 4/5
Navigating to smartapps custom to my hub is gone
Bad layout and unreliable 1/5
This new app is garbage. So many bugs. Deleted.
Security system 1/5
I use this app to arm and disarm my security system. The app doesn’t load properly at least once a day. I have to close and re open the app multiple times just to arm or disarm my security system.
Very convenient 5/5

Touchy app 3/5
This app sometimes works or it doesn’t. It’s very touchy and is not reliable when it comes to actually connecting to the appliances that you wish to connect.
this app is garbage. it does not readily connect to the hub or anything else. you have to spend hours reading forums and doing the same thing over and over and maybe it will work. how could ancompany release such half baked crap? oh wait not surprised.
Work Great! 5/5
Not a replacement for Smartthings classic 1/5
No history per device. No automation widgets. No thanks.
I would rate 0 if I could! 1/5
I can’t setup my SmartThings hub 2018. All manuals say I need to select add device and then Wi-Fi/Hub. Guess what?! There are no such thing is menu. I also tried classic app and it’s all the same. Worthless piece of junk…
This app gets worse after each update release. Recent 70% of my devices are disconnected and unable to trigger. I regret migrating from the classic app to this one. I would suggest if you are still on the classic, not make the move yet.
Smartthings Slow refresh, poor notifications 2/5
Old app was better for Smart things hub. In this new version notifications are batched (3-6 sent at same time for same device) instead of when they occur. Defeats the purpose.
Also when viewing devices it takes a while for the approval show the devices and status on the dashboard.
Automations broken 1/5
Can create an automation, but when selecting a period, none of the day selections save
This app is worthless. I have a refrigerator that I bought new in 2015 and the app does not support this model (RH29H9000SR/AA)
It’s working good 5/5
It’s a little slow but works !
App closes unexpectedly 1/5
I am trying to use this app to control my 2018 Frame TV. However, it closes unexpectedly when trying to use the art functions or add pictures. The other problem is that if you get to the art features the App tells you that you must be connected to the TV in order to use said features. My question is, if I weren’t connected how did the app recognize the TV in the first place? So the app sees my TV, and lets me do like remote control features but not any art features? Call this is based on the fact that I can get the app to stay open long enough.
Dimmers/Dark Mode/Cameras 3/5
Dinners need to stop at 100% and not go back around to 1%.
Please create a dark mode for the app. The bright screen burns folks eyes late at night when you open the app to make a light adjustment.
Allow Zmodo cameras to be added.

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong but nothing works. I just wanted to add photos to ambient mode and it won’t allow it. How do I troubleshoot this issue? It’s very frustrating.
why is there such a lag when tapping button or anything really? 2/5
i admin, i'm impatient especially when products are supposed to simplify things, waiting 5-10 seconds on an ipad pro for a switch to react is unacceptable in my opinion.
if every function and operation has to go to the cloud and back, thats a terrible design.
turning off a light should be instant, and locally processed by the hub. automations, routines, etc. also should be local.
for zigbee, zwave devices, they have a separate, more resilient mesh than home wifi and remote internet servers.
syncing a compact optimized control micro service would help, use the cloud-based compute to optimize actions, responses, commands, and expected responses, since that changes often, keep the lightweight, fast frequently used function handling on on hub.
wifi devices by design are the least fault tolerant and most effort, trouble, time wasters, every hiccup, factory default every outlet, light, sensor, blah. it makes no sense to have to send an on command to wemo, then have them control the device, verify it worked, send the status back to your cloud so you can update the button icon. very poor design, not scalable.
please make this software 5x faster, and less cloud chatty and you'll see happier customers.
theres progress, but the classic app is still my primary app.
i have 56 devices, mostly samsung, majority philips hue, some wemo i loathe, some ge zwave, sylvania, fibaro, aeontech, nest, alexa, ring and smoke/co detectors.
when everything works as expected, it's really awesome. when is doesn't, zero patience or time to fix. reliability should be #1
Needs updating 2/5
Difficult to use with an iPhone X and Max because of the notch and app should consider readjusting layout.
Classic App is MUCH more intuitive 1/5
Just installed the new app as I’m pretty sure you all will retire the classic app. I have to say I’m less than impressed. It is not intuitive at all. It brought some data over that I can’t figure out how to clean up. I’ve loved my ST hub but you all have seriously missed the boat on this app.
Great Upgrade 4/5
Works better than classic version. Devices aware in multiple locations but automations from Classic app have to be recreated. And I assume deleted from classic version so there are not duplicate automations running. I run two different versions of smart hubs at two different locations and it works almost seamlessly.
Getting better and better with each update 4/5
By Elvin Arimont
Have had the app for over 1 year and it has improved significantly time. Still needs work but Samsung is trying to do a lot with this one app. It does control my Samsung PowerBot, Samsung 55 inch TV and Samsung Home Connect devices
Classic version is MUCH better 1/5
This app is very unintuitive and does NOT even perform the functions that the classic version can. I purchased the SmartThings mesh network and was told I cannot connect my zwave door locks to it and the mesh network won't connect to the classic app. I would not have set this up at my new house had I have known this in advance. Very frustrating!!
Btw, I love the way the classic app works at my rental property. Will use classic as long as I can there.
Did I do anything wrong? 1/5
Well I just downloaded the app and was getting ready to sign up. Right after I put in all of my information the one part we all hate the most came up, Testing to see if I was a robot. I might be stupid or something but right after my first correct submission of the robot thing, it just kept on going even through I was getting everything right and it wouldn’t stop. It did for about 53 minutes and finally I gave up and deleted the app. Did I do something wrong or was it the app it’s self? I don’t know.
Works as advertised 5/5
Samsung SmartBot Works very well, have a long hair dog and two cats who shed, such a stress reliever to come home and not have the dust/hair bunnies rolling through the house like tumbleweeds.
Scrap it - Piece of crap - Classic is way better 1/5
- Doesn’t loaf the devices sometimes
- Takes a while to read the status
- Takes a while to perform an event
- Limited in function
Just terrible, piece of junk

I ❤️ it!!! Perfect!!!
It’s dope! 4/5
By Charlie Mo
All though I wish my apple apps could be added like Apple Music and photos our fridge has been more than a gimmick... it’s quickly becoming like a part of the family.
It’s a cool idea but I wish I could change the shows on Netflix and YouTube.
Very slick and easy 5/5
I have had it for a week now with 3 water leak sensors and an outlet for lighting automation.
So far it has been very reliable
Q8F Ambient mode 1/5
Why is there no way to control ambient mode on a Samsung tv. This is clearly advertised as being the way to do it but the functionality simply doesn’t exist
This thing works great
Still needs improvement 2/5
The app has improved over the last few months and you're able to use some of your custom automations but the app still needs refinement. I'd also love to see touch id added to this app like the old app.
Notifications broken 3/5
Notifications are broken. Please fix I rely on these notifications.

Poor support for new tv 1/5
I bought a Samsung uhd tv nu710d expecting the newest tv to have support with this app on my iPhone. It does not.
Really not running good 1/5
I like the old one much better... for starters I had the problem of the ap not letting me login. I reported it and it magically went away and allowed me to login the next day. I have almost every room in my house setup with switches and motion sensors, led lights, and dimmers. In the new ap half of them are disconnected but are all fine in the classic. All routines work fine but can’t control half of my devices in new ap. It’s also really slow compared to classic.
Worst app setup I’ve ever seen 1/5
Horrible, thoughtless and nonsensical setup. To create my account I had to enter the info 3 times bc any time you click on a help icon it restarts the setup process. Then the app goes into an awful email verification process that asks for phone or email, and put me into two different web pages on different attempts; and seems to be trying to send an email to someone. This is GARBAGE. Samsung has NO excuse for releasing such trash. I have installed hundreds of apps on iOS, Android, Mac and Windows . Never seen anything this confusing, bumbling and outright stupid. Looks like I will be sending the hardware back to Amazon and buying a different brand of smart sensors.
Do not buy SmartThings products or waste your time with this DumbThings app.
By eq oper
Had a hard time getting a nickname I’m not mad the smart things app is working good I run my vacuum and my TV so far off of it I will do lighting next good product enjoy the app
Not compatible with iOS 1/5
Don’t waste your time. The app shuts off every 5 seconds and the customer support at Samsung is clueless on how to fix the problem. People that paid premium dollars for the Samsung Frame can’t even upload photos. Waste of money and time.
Unable to log in 1/5
Email and password are correct but every time I log in it just kicks back to the “Sign In” screen and I have to log in again and again
Buggy Garbage 1/5
Currently, I can’t even login. When I could, nothing worked right. Installed the hub, tried to add first outlet, can’t recognize. Tried to install the second, and it says I need a hub to install. Complete garbage. Instructions are crap and the usability is a joke. Look elsewhere.
Does the Job! 5/5
Glad this works! More people need to know not use the old app
Very disappointed 1/5
First of all instructions aren’t very clear and almost non existent. Which lead me to believe it was an easy plug in and connect your devices. Painfully realize how wrong I was. App is not user friendly and when trying to connect to my Ring doorbell an error message “Something went wrong, Please reinstall Smartapp” keeps popping up. I reinstalled the app 4 times and had not fix the problem. I’m not impressed at all. Considering going with the competition.
PS. I have never in my life written a bad review or a review at all. This is how frustrating this thing got me.
