Outstanding features, but unreliable 4/5
The features and functionality are amazing. It’s a clean, intuitive app, and allows a lot of flexibility for smart email management. It’s the best email manager I’ve used.
The issue is the reliability. Every month or so my inbox won’t update, so I’ll instead have to use my email host’s app directly.
It Occasionally Shows Some Promise 2/5
I thought I had found my last email app with Spark, but unfortunately it has not been reliable or dependable for daily use. There are many great features that I like, but it does a horrible job syncing between devices. (Apple - iPad Pro and i-phone). Most annoying is the number of times that an email reply shows as sent but then hours later will wind up in the outbox with a notification that emails weren’t sent. Instructions to open the app to automatically send do not work. Very disappointed that I will have to continue my search for a reliable, business-level email provider.
Also, if you try to leave an honest review, somehow the required nickname is always taken no matter how random.

I am new to iPhones and I have tried just about every email app in the App Store. I loved Spark and the fact that it was compatible with an Apple Watch made it even better. It worked flawlessly for a few weeks on ios14. I have 4 email accounts and when I got a notification there would be an icon next to each account to tell me which one had a new email and how many emails. I have turned that off and in, I even deleted all of the accounts and the app and started over. I also just deleted the app. Nothing has worked. This will sadly make me choose my number 2 email app unless this can be fixed.
The app originally was good, but now it seems to have alot of issues. The count of unread emails is off, you cannot ungroup emails (I sent a reply to the wrong thread of my business’ email) and customer service is not the best.
You might want to keep searching for a better alternative.
Best client for managing multiple accounts 5/5
If you have a lot of accounts, like a personal email with a small business one, this client is by far the best way to manage them in one place. Occasional bugs but always fixed within one or two updates, and nothing showstopping. They are constantly adding new features.

Spark first started delaying my emails in & out. Then I could only access 2 of the 5 email addresses I had connected Spark with. Then this past weekend, all I get is the loading circles, no option to get out of the app so I had to shut it down. Read many, many online reports of Spark not working properly & various fix techniques. None of them worked. (before anyone mansplains, yes I deleted & reloaded the app) Now I must waste time finding a different, WORKING email app for mobile. Used to love Spark but it seems to be getting buggier and buggier and more difficult to use these days.
New emails not showing up 1/5
Lately, the main app icon will show there are 3 new emails but when I open the app, my 4 email accounts don’t show any new emails - even if I swipe down to check for new emails. I have to kill Spark and then relaunch it for those new emails to show up. Please fix this soon!!! iPad 12.9” on iOS 14.1.
Doesn’t sync on IOS 14.01 1/5
Installed yesterday with a few issues, getting my mail, but items that were deleted off of my email server yesterday are still being displayed. I’ve refreshed several times and the wheels keep spinning yet deleted items are still displayed. Check their site and blog for answers and nothing.

Why do my emails never get sent? It’s always stuck in outbox. It only sends when I go to outbox and refresh the screen. It never sends emails easily like it’s suppose to. I always get notification saying spark was unable to send email. This is on every email i send. Why doesn’t it just send the email easily!?
And sometimes the attachments won’t open. Have to keep closing the app and reopen it and then it finally downloads. This doesn’t work like in the beginning. Too many glitches and nonfunctioning.
Support is Unresponsive and Sent Items don’t sync 1/5
I want to love Spark but I have been having an issue we’re my sent items don’t sync across devices for O356 accounts. If I send from my phone I don’t see it on my desktop or iPad and the same in reverse. Being a newer app I am fine with bugs. But not responding to numerous emails and Twitter direct messages in over a week is not acceptable for a company wanting to grow user adoption.

I loved spark and ever since this major revision it’s been a nightmare. The smart inbox features have been super flakey. It’s been slow to process mail the scrolling UI is absolutely awful if you didn’t archive every message blindly, and the most important thing - I can’t get out of its calendar and use the e one I want. If you disable the calendar diction of spark icf files won’t be passed to any other app.
This is absolutely a deal breaker for me. I need to pass Meeting invites to fantastical because I want to use ONE calendar that I love and not a half featured calendar with which I’m unfamiliar.
I find the fact they won’t pass calendar data outside their own app to be extremely aggressive / anticompetitive.
I’m afraid my time with spark may be at an end which is a real shame because I adored it. The bee version, frankly, isn’t good. Bug filled frustrating pain.

This is literally the best mail app available!!! I would’ve given 5 stars BUT theres a small flaw in it that needs to be fixed ASAP; it’s WAY TOO EASY to accidentally delete or unpin the pinned emails. Please fix.

HOWEVER, all of a sudden I’m noticing my IN-APP badges for each individual email account is NOT showing up anymore.
The other day I toggled the option on and off again and it came back. But it happened again and now it simply won’t come back.
I LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY UNREAD EMAILS are in EACH account.
What’s going on!?

The smart inbox, pinning, schedule and collaboration are great and wonderful part of this app. However, a big deal breaker for why I am uninstalling is the lack of ability to close the app after sending an email. This is even confirmed by the spark support site as it reads.
After sending an email, please don’t immediately quit Spark. It supports the Undo option, which is available for the 5 seconds after you press Send. The app actually sends an email only after this timed delay.
I just want to send and forget sometimes and this issue stops my routine in having to actually wait for the email to send. Why this can't be done in the background is beyond me. But until this is resolved I must uninstall.

The mail app is awesome, I have only used the outlook app as all of the other mail apps couldn’t deliver. But the design and Smart Folders are top tier. The only issue for me is not being able to enable Calendars or my Microsoft accounts. If not for that, I would rate 5 Stars.
Not a fan. Badges are always off and as soon as you open the app, it shows up to an email that has been deleted days ago. Too buggy for my liking.

This was the app i used for my emails and i love the layout and everything was perfect, but now i will be switching to a new app because it has not been syncing to my school email and I wasn’t receiving emails on my phone for the past two weeks it just displayed “you have achieved inbox 0” when that was not true. I only saw my emails on my desktop, im disappointed bc i like the layout but i cant risk not getting important emails.

I just made the leap to use an iPad Pro as a MacBook replacement, and the biggest problem was the default Mail app. Signatures: BAD. Batch Attachment Downloads: BAD. Customization Options: Limited.
But Not SPARK! Everything is how it should be and I hope it stays around forever. May even make me adopt it for the iPhone too. Fantastic! Great work.

Hate this app. Tried ten times to set up my outlook email and gave error message each time. Nothing comes up to assist in figuring out what the error was. I promptly deleted the app and will not waste my time again.
Opens to a black screen: latest build and previous build 1/5
Have reached out to support and submitted video of the behavior. I’m on iPadOS 14 and it started about 2wks ago. It launches to a black screen and stays there. Only the battery icon is visible (if charging). No reply whatsoever from support. Quitting the app and restarting/force restarting the iPad have no effect.

Email apps 5/5
Ok here’s the thing I’ve been a how to customize the phone freak for over 30 years. I’ve switched from android to iPhone and back again simply because of being able to customize with good apps. Yours is the absolute best out there. It works great on my iPhones ( I have 3) and integrates well with Apple. In addition it has very nice features allows for some customization and meets ALL my needs and wants in an email app/software. Keep up the great work.

Update 10/15/20: You guys keep breaking stuff! Now when you archive an email, it goes into your archive based on the day you received the email, not the day you archived it. Please fix this ASAP! People might archive old emails that they want to see based on when they archived it, like the app has worked since day 1!
Update 9/28/18: Notifications do not work at all on my XS Max on iOS 12 and emails do not unsnooze back to my inbox.
There are a lot of things I like about it but my biggest complaint is that when a snoozed email returns to your inbox, there is no notification. I'll just see it the next time I open Spark. Also, I've found it very sensitive when scrolling through an email and opening links. Even if my finger stays touching the screen, if you press down on an embedded link, it automatically takes you to a website without even lifting my finger.
Update 9/6/16: The badge notification is never right. It constantly shows more messages than are actually in my inbox.
Update 9/19/16: Notifications are no longer working with the latest update.
Update 7/2/18: The last update unsnoozed all of my emails!

I am having “stuck” badge counts inside the app. I have two accounts. In the main menu my 2nd account shows I have 3 unread. There is no Unread in either account. Please fix.

I don’t know what is happening but my badges are not showing accurately. It will say I have like over 60 unread (which isn’t true cause I literally read them as they come in). So I of course open them up and it’s like 6 unread. I love this App because of its functions and love that I have all my mail boxes in one place. I loved it so much that I referred lots of people to get spark!
I just wished the badges hiccup would be fixed. Hopefully in the next update. I haven’t given up hope 🙌🏽
Absolutely awful for anyone who needs to use Zoom! 1/5
This app is great in a lot of ways. But since the pandemic, I’ve had to deal with a lot of Zoom invitations for meetings. Instead of being able accept an invitation and have it appear on your calendar, you have to manually type in the meeting and then TRY to copy and paste the Zoom link from the email. Both of these steps cost me about 5 minutes of wasted time and a great deal of frustration.
If Zoom ever gets around to letting users accept invitations to Zoom meetings WITHOUT re-inviting whichever parties were on the original email (and thereby spamming them), then I’ll look forward to using it again. Until then, no thank you. I don’t have time for this level of poorly designed user interface.

Spark renders the Apple News daily email unreadable as font is too small.
When viewed on Apple mail on iPhone everything is scaled properly.

Exchange OnLine users beware! 1/5
Unable to get Spark to work correctly on two devices. iPhone syncs with Exchange just like it should, but as soon as I add Spark to my iPad it syncs for a while and then stops. Has something to do with the way Spark authenticates with M/S Exchange (Office 365). Support is horrendous .... but after all it’s free! If you are looking for alternative to iOS native mail app, stick with Outlook Mobile until the issue is fixed.

I started out using Spark a few years ago and instantly loved it. Having multiple email accounts in one place that are easy to sort is fantastic. I later added the Documents app to my repertoire. Later, the scan and PDF apps. And here is the best thing about Readdle: if you have a question or concern, email support...they follow through on reaching out!

I have 3 email accounts that I need to use in the app, but only one that is my go to. Every time the app is closed, it reverts to showing all mail from all mailboxes. So almost every time I open the app, I have to select the individual account.
The newest update is constantly trying to upset me on their paid features. It pretends that there is a new feature for you, but when you click to use it, it takes you to the subscribe page. I have zero issues with developers making money off of their work, but it feels like I’ve been given a bait and switch several times in the last 5 days.
The focused inbox doesn’t seem to be customizable despite their documentation stating otherwise.
The app is well made and if it would keep settings for which mailboxes I wanted to see between sessions and stop dangling paid features, it would be good enough to post for the basic features alone.
That said, the issue I mentioned are bad enough that I’m starting to look for an alternative.
I installed Spark because of some issues the built in Mail app was having with iOS 14. I now keep it because I absolutely love it!

Spark has been my “go to” email app for many years. I am going through withdrawal now because nothing else can satisfy how well it “used to” work. I experienced the recent exchange gibberish bug that the last update on 10/06/20 was supposed to fix. The issue is that my work email will not connect correctly despite uninstalling and reinstalling 12 times, including a complete wipe of my iPhone. The iPad recognizes my account, but not the iPhone (which is where I do 80% of my work email responses). I have emailed the Readdle Tech Department multiple times, but my tech is not responding with any solution. I have been forced to use another popular email app, but it is difficult to enjoy when you are used to something else. Perhaps Readdle will see this and respond - not asking for anything special, just for the app to work. This could easily be a 5 star app again.
