Like other posters, I get the “we are experiencing some difficulties please try again later “ message after entering my subscription account number. This is a poorly designed app that forces you to contact customer support in order to access your subscription in the app.
Cannot Sign In-Frustrated 1/5
Like all the others who have recently provided a review, I cannot access my subscription through this app. When I enter my account number it spins then says there are technical issues. And when I enter my email it says no email is found. I plaid for a print and digital subscription and had no issues signing into digital, but with Zinio nothing but troubles. How in the heck do you even find someone to provide support for this issue? Or better yet, since so many people have the same issue why don’t you just fix it?!

App hasn’t worked in months. Account number doesn’t work. Username and Password doesn’t work. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work for anyone. What a disaster. I wish I could give zero stars.

I’ve tried to connect my subscription via e-mail and by using my subscriber number. In both cases it gives the error message about having issues check back later. I’m finished with checking back later. Hot Garbage. Nice job, SI.
Never an issue with my auto renew but I always have an issue accessing my paid subscription. I would rather my money back.

Since Meredith bought Time I have had nothing but trouble accessing People and Sports Illustrated on my iPad. You cannot speak to a person. You can only communicate by chat with Zinio that puts the content online. After several days I was able to get access to People, but still not SI. When I enter my email or account number, as directed, the apps, spins, times out and says there are technical difficulties and to return later. This has been going on for 4 days. The Zinio chat support have no idea. They said I would get an email at the end of the day. I know Meredith is planning to unload SI. I hope whoever buys it doesn’t use Zinio

Where are the new issues? I followed the directions you gave to the review just before me and still nothing. Not happy! fix your bugs now! This is total crap. Give me a refund. Unbelievable.
The horrors of bad updates 1/5
This update has several bugs. Past issues are simply ignored. There seems to have been no understanding that users could have subscriptions for more than the current year. Moreover special issues even in the current subscription period are not picked up as valid for the subscriber.
This update makes me want to cancel my SI subscription because it seems that they do not care at all about the subscriber.

Very simply, this app stinks. When I started it up, I could not find all of the issues in my library. The only real support is via email. The telephone support is offshore (shocker) and not very useful. Took a week and multiple emails to clear up the issue.

I have subscribed to SI for 40 years, yet I can’t read the latest issues on my iPad. This is unacceptable.

Ever since this updated app was released all the previous issues that I had access to having been a subscriber for years have gone away. Reading the reviews, this appears to be a fundamental problem with the app that has not been addressed. How something like this could have gotten through quality control is a mystery to me.

So new app is downloaded and have followed instructions on signing in and can’t access the new magazines at all. It wants me to buy them even though I have a subscription. I’ve registered and same thing. Last 2 updates have caused major problems

I subscribe to the print addition and also download to iPad. No previous problems however latest addition doe not recognize me as a subscriber. I have deleted app and reinstalled, nothing works. Worthless garbage update. Fortunately my subscription update is due in July, will not renew this worthless garbage.

Horrid update - cancelled service. 1/5
Looks like a beautiful app but I would not know as I cannot access it. I enter my log in credentials and account number only to be told user does not exist. I politely cancelled the subscription after calling customer service at 877-747-1045. Also, tried the forgot password option to reset my password but my email address that clearly shows online when I log into SI Customer Service AND also spoke with a CSR who even confirmed it did exist. So disappointing. Looks like I’m not the only one. Long time subscriber has had enough.

I’m sure SI has published numerous stories on declining dynasties, time to add themselves based on the clunky non functional “gift to subscribers” their IPhone application represents. Please upgrade your tech staff/systems ASAP, or at least before MLB Allstar game! The Athletic is much better value......

Sports Illustrated’s new app looks great. Can’t say whether it is because I can’t access a single issue even though I’m a paid subscriber and able to log into my account, but no issues available.
Digging around it seems that Zinio is now running the SI app. I remember Zinio from a decade ago. The promise was all the magazines on one app. The reality was a crappy user experience, lots of bugs, fewer and fewer titles, and poor support. Kind of like the relaunch of an app that worked just fine before this. 3 weeks of nothing but 1 star reviews with no fixes or app updates? Par for the course with these guys.
So glad SI chose Zinio to run the main app for the magazine so that the only way to avoid them is to start reading the print version again... 😡🤦♂️🥾

Come on already! How long does it take to fix this!!!!!!!!! ... it’s been weeks now!!! Having troubles too. I can’t even log in now! Hope it’s fixed soon. Big fan of magazine but very frustrating the digital version in inaccessible. Why release an update if it’s so flawed??

This mandatory update has resulted in my not being able to access my digital copy of SI since January. I’ve tried everything. I just spoke with a representative and he told me they’re having huge problems and to “check back in regularly.”

The other comments list all the defects. I cannot believe SI released this app and called it an update. The thing I miss the most is downloaded issues don’t always appear when offline. I travel a lot so that is a BIG issues to me
Also, I’ve b en a subscriber since 2007. I had downloaded issues going back to 2011 when the digital content was first available. Now even for the issues from early 2018 that do show up, the app says I have to purchase the issue.
Does anyone test these apps before they put them out and force customers to “update”?

This update is completely broken. I'm a print+digital subscriber, and when I log into the app, my 5+ years of issues aren't there. Gone. The Zinio platform is terrible.

Prior to this update, I was able to access editions back to when I first subscribed to the digital edition in 2011. This update only allows me to see back to May 2014. Very disappointing. I was encouraged when I first started to work with Customer Service. They were responsive with good communication, promising they would get back to me. It has been 2 weeks, nothing but crickets. I suppose SI doesn’t care about their loyal customers.

Yet another magazine I cannot access after the update. When I enter my Acct #, it pulls up an email that is not mine. The same thing happened with another magazine. See ticket 775341 with Zinio for a similar situation.

I no longer have access to any of my old issues and for some reason I’m only getting the “buy” option for new issues. A great app if I wanted to just keep reading the previous 4 issues over and over. There is no reason why I shouldn’t be able to access this weeks issue since it has been out for days. All support tells you is that you’ll have access in 24-48 hours.

This was a bad update as well. I like the improvements made to viewing the magazine; however, I do not have all my issues since I’ve been a subscriber which was back in 2011 I believe. I would love to have my issues back so that I can read the ones that I’ve paid for. I don’t have the print copies any more to go back and view since I thought they would be in the digital version which was the case before this latest update. I’ve tried restoring and syncing without success. I’ve used my other iCloud name where I initially started my subscription and my new one and both do not work at getting my issues back. Please help me in this case. Thanks.

With the new update, SI only supports issues as far back as 2014. I’ve now lost more than 60% of my purchases which go as far back as 2011. Downloaded copies from the earlier version are automatically deleted during the upgrade. To me this is THEFT. The only reason it has a star is because apple wont accept 0.

I’ve been a print/digital subscriber since 2012 and my I back issues only go back to 2016??? And any issues before 2017, I have to pay for? Is Roger Goodell running your company now? Big fail on your part.
I put in a request to cancel my print subscription. Not sure that will even go through as SI no longer has the subscription option native to their website. The only reason I wanted the print sub was to get the digital issues - all of which have been lost pre-2012 (including a la carte issues purchased via app). To say I have been ripped off is an understatement. The benchmark gold standard magazine app for is THE NEW YORKER. Too bad this app doesn’t even come close. (NOTE: same problems with TIME magazine app which I also cancelled.)

I’ve already contacted support, and they said the issue will be fixed in 24-48 hours. It’s almost been 48 hours, and still not working. I’m getting the warning “User does not exist” when I can clearly log in on a browser.

I, too, cannot retrieve any of the previous issues I downloaded on the older app. Terrible way to treat subscribers. Looks like they are trying to get more money from us. The magazine wants me to pay for issues I had already downloaded and to pay for new ones. Sad!

Once again updated app has deleted my downloaded data and once again after re-logging in it doesn’t show all mag years I’ve previously subscribed to. It’s unacceptable and embarrassing to software developers everywhere.

I logged in to the app today and got a message about upgrading the app or else it would not add any new issues. Well I upgraded and now my ‘Library’ contains fewer issues (only back to June 2018), than I have around the house. When I tried to look for customer service or my subscription online, the server wouldn’t connect. Maybe you should stick to paper since the digital world seems very hard for you.
