Very frustrated because I’ve tried to log out and back in several times but the app will no longer allow me to download new issues. Instead it asks me to pay or sign up even though I’ve been a subscriber for years.

The Latest News section in the app is not updating. All of the content is from 2019, as of March 1st, 2020.
No more free downloads for print subscribers? 1/5
As a print subscriber, I’ve always enjoyed being able to download the digital edition for reading on the go. Starting with the 2 December issues, the app is requiring me to pay separately for the digital editions. What changed? I logged and then back in to my account, and nothing changed. If this is a policy change, then the value of SI continues to degrade.
Update on 2/22/20: Still 1 star, and would be zero stars if I could rate that way. I received a developer response, stating I should be able to sign in as a print + digital subscriber and then download recent issues. Didn’t work. I got an “account not found” error when I entered what I believe is my account number on the mailing label, and when I logged in with my email address, I still am unable to download any issues since November without having to pay again. That’s too bad, as I really would like to read the March issue while I am away from home.

Once again I feel compelled to give this app a one star rating (if I could give zero stars I would). Not only has SI gone to publishing once a month, but the current issue no longer shows in my library, which means I am not able to download the issue for offline reading. I have contacted Zinio and the response has been to try and reinstall the app, which would mean losing everything I have previously downloaded (with no guarantee this would actually solve the problem especially since there has been no update to the app). I was also instructed to make sure I am not in airplane mode which indicates a complete misunderstanding of the problem. Absolutely terrible support.
App no longer working - STAY AWAY! 1/5
Paid for subscription renewal in first week of January. Unable to download the 2 latest issues. Unable to sign in on the app and the app does not appear to be sending request to reset my password. If you look through the recent postings you will see how many people are having issues.

Never commented on any app till now. This app is terrible. Have reinstalled several times. Still latest news is month old, magazines won’t update in library. Membership is active as print comes to house, tried every trouble shooting activity.
App Issues following renewal 1/5
The app has turned to crap. It’s bad enough that I found out by searching online that SI has further reduced its publishing to monthly in 2020, but now I find the app news hasn’t been updated in forever. And, no, I haven’t called customer service because I just can’t bother managing the lack of functionality of a product I’ve used for decades. This is a fraud.

This is still a horrible app. I have a subscription and have used the app in the past, but have stopped because accessing the issues is hit or miss. When I’m signed in it gives me the Free Trial or Purchase options only. I try signing out and back in and no change. Every now and then when I’m traveling I’ll give it another shot and its usually the same deal.
Why offer an app if it doesn’t work?

The 12/3 issue is not in my library on the sport’s illustrated app. It is available for purchase, but it should be available as part of my subscription. I have done all of the troubleshooting steps. Please advise. Thank you

I have been a SI subscriber for more than 40 years. This app doesn’t let me read any of the magazines. Prior iterations worked fine. It gives me a choice of a trial or paying for each issue. I have deleted the app and reinstalled. I have signed out and signed back in. Nothing. This app is worthless for subscribers.

Just spent 40 minutes following the terrible instructions that don’t change the fact that I am being asked to pay for something that I already feel I am paying too much for. It’s November 1 tomorrow and my latest issue I can access is Venus Williams from July. Nice!
Swimsuit issues from 2014 and before are still missing 1/5
It has been many many months and this app is still missing the Swimsuit issues from 2014 and before. These issues were once on the app and since it has been updated they are now missing. I have paid for this issues, and nothing has been done to fix this major problem. No matter how many times I have followed up, they still have not returned this paid for content.
Please restore the swimsuit issues from 2014 and before.

My SI subscription runs through Dec 2020, but the app won’t let me download any issues later than Aug 12, 2019 no matter what I try. Please fix this.

Love the content. I’m a multi-year subscriber, and usually only read the print version. I’m going out of town for a couple months. So imagine my surprise when I went to download a couple issues and the app demands I fork out $6.
If they fix this, the content is 5 stars, as usual. (I can do without the “fashion” issue, which is simply ridiculous.) The writing is the best in the business. So this review is strictly for the APP itself.
Update: As a result of this review, I was contacted by the developer, who has fixed this issue. Let’s hope this was a temporary glitch.

I cannot download any new issues despite being a print subscriber for 30 yrs. I can only see issues from 2-3 months ago. I have tried signing out and in as a print + digital subscriber but no luck. Disappointed!

But not in a good way...After a recent update, I am unable to download new issues. July 1st is the last issue I am able to view on here without being asked to pay for an issue. I’ve already signed in with my email address and signing in with my account number gives another error, surprised? Get this fixed and it’s a great app. Until then, I wish I could go less than 1 Star.

Like everyone else I’m a print subscriber and I cannot access current issues on the app. The most “recent “ issue in my library is from March. I’ve deleted and reloaded the app, reset my password, and synced my library but nothing ever changes. There are way too many people with this exact same problem for way too long. This app is useless.

Others recently have made the same comment. I’m a subscriber to the print edition, I’ve tried the print subscriber tips to get access, I’ve also reset my password after supplying my account number and I still can’t access any issues without being asked to pay the 5.99 price. There have been comments to reviewers that have been some basic instructions but this issue is not a user error.

Have to echo the other complaints about not being able to access new issues. Only given option to buy or start trial. I am a subscriber and I am logged in with my email. Very frustrating lately. Emails to Meredith go unanswered and of course there is no phone contact.

As numerous others state in the reviews, it is impossible to get logged on to see any content. After so many complaints you would think they would fix the app. Worst app in my book. If I could rate negative stars I would!

I have been through multiple versions of this app over many years. Despite various issues that have come up, I have at least been able to download issues. This is no longer the case. When viewing a recent issue I am given the options of buying the issue or purchasing a trial subscription - never mind that I am a subscriber and have entered my login credentials into the app.
So I hate to say for a once good app but this is a complete waste unless you are looking for sports news over 2-3 months old...

As a 30+ year subscriber to Sports Illustrated I have had great customer service - especially with all the moves while I was in the military. Now, SI has cut back to biweekly and I can’t even get issues on the app. I have already deleted the other Sports Illustrated app (only had soccer feeds) and the SI Swimsuit app, which never got updated after the 2017 issue. As a subscriber, you’d think you could get issues on the app. Guess I was wrong.

I brought SSI swimsuit issues from 2012-2017 but I can only retrieve 2015-2017 and I’m sure you won’t respond or do anything about it because I’m just a small fish in your pond.
