Not easy 5/5
It’s not easy but it surely is the best game I’ve ever played in my entire life
Best RPG ever 5/5
I’ve played this game so many times I could almost recite each line in the dialog. I bought this game many years ago on X box. I’ve been nothing but impressed by the graphics and spot on gameplay with the Mobil version. I’d love to see a follow up KOTOR 2 Sith Lords but I’m sure if we all ask enough it will happen and I would gladly pay. If your a total die hard KOTOR fan like me then you got to check this out yourself.
When I was younger this was the game I use to play now that it is on mobile I play very often
However it does need a lot of maintenance as all apps and games do
KOTOR 2 5/5
When is it coming to iOS!!
Why I love this game 5/5
This game was sooooo much fun that I am no longer on taris now I’m a Jedi but now taris is destroy I loved taris but thx for making the game.by joseph
Need help!!!! 5/5
So I was in combat with the my main character and now I can’t move. I’ve tried restarting the game, I’ve reloaded the leave I have fast traveled and have even been in combat and not my character just stands in one spot. I have no more ideas and I’m so far in the game I would hate to reinstall and lose all my progress. Plz help with any suggestions
Review of SWTOR Mobile 3/5
iPhone Specific Review 3/5
Swoop races and turret sections are terribly optimized (you can’t even turn and activate your boost at the same time). The swoop mini game could be in large part fixed simply by having the speeder automatically boost when it reaches max power (because the touch controls on the phone do not read turns and boost touches at the same time, so you have to stop accelerating/turning to activate your boost) and as well as implementing left/right arrow buttons instead of swiping.
I don’t even know how they screwed up the on rails turret scenes. Again the touch screen controls are so clunky in that you can’t adjust the turret while firing. I think they kind of made it tolerable by giving you more shields and health, but it is still very annoying, especially given the fact that there have been several Star Wars star fighter turret games that implemented the gyroscope to avoid this kind of problem.
There is an issue in combat with target selection.
General Review 4/5
Classic Star Wars game. I wish there was more freedom in the game to make it more open-world as opposed to a story driven rpg (the story/character/quest is very reminiscent of Mass Effect (side note: Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 would be great on mobile platforms). Also you are pretty much forced to play a melee character (blaster characters have pretty bad damage output after you complete Taris, even with a high dexterity. they need to buff them to maintain a diversity of character options).
Overall, I’d recommend the game. Just know that you will get some pretty frustrating parts on mobile.
Fun game but really buggy 3/5
The game itself is a true gem, but this iPad port is crazy buggy.
It’s super common to lose all ability to move the PC after things like trying to loot or open a door, requiring either a save&reload or swapping to another character.
Swoop racing at tier 3 is essentially impossible with iPad controls.
The Pazaak interface is really small and will often cause you to play a card you meant to flip.
Had a hard crash bug when escaping the leviathan with Carth than required a google search to solve.
All the old pathfinding bugs when you lose your party after running around with a speed buff are still there of course.
I love this game so much but god It’s buggy.
Great game, but please update swoop races 4/5
By Reviewing injustice
The game is great and plays well, but the swoop races are difficult enough on pc. On mobile, there just isn’t good enough control. Easiest course of action would be to raise times to beat on swoop races to make it better for mobile players. Another way would be to incorporate the upgrade system the game was originally designed around (idea got scrapped from original game). Either way they need to be redone to be possible on mobile
Love the game but got stuck on a bug 4/5
By Davren Langston
"SPOILERS" SPOILERS SPOILERS
I have gotten stuck after invading the Vulkars base and recovering the the Swoop engine part that they stole from the Hidden Beks. The bug manefests itself as recognizing the Hidden Bek base area as a combat zone. I cannot fast travel back to the Hideout and I cannot talk with anyone which makes it impossible to talk with Gadon. If this bug has been seen before and there's a Gameplay based fix for it That would be great, otherwise I'll just have to wait for an update or restart from an older save that is WAAAY OLD.
Yavin DLC is amazing 5/5
By Melanie=Senpai I=YandereChan
It is great that you have a extra side quest that can add more
Like the two light saber crystals this makes the saber better in many ways and if you are playing a soldier guardine you can use the heavy exoskeleton witch first of all is light armor so all can use it you can get two of them and it gives strength plus two that op attack there it might not seem good but it is useful you want hard but you are two away for 10 plus strength multiplier slap on the heavy exoskeleton this op this helps players yavin is great it expands kotors racism including a old race witch I won’t say what it is so no spoilers do the dlc have fun ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Best Star Wars game ever! 5/5
Knights of the Old Republic is one of the best video games ever made. It has a better story than most Star Wars films, with a compelling cast of characters, good, bad, and droids! So compelling and holds up after all these years!!!
The Game Apple Arcade Should Model After 5/5
It’s exactly what you think, the classic Star Wars game we all loved on Xbox brought to your Apple devices! It has all the quirky glitches that you remember, but as long as your device is taken care of and up-to-date it runs relatively smooth. There are even some features that were added/added back in from the original idea in this version which are pretty great.
Considering Disney won’t likely reboot these games anytime soon, unless future trilogies go back to this point in time, Apple would be wise to make games like this in the coming Apple Arcade!
Anyway, if you have not played this game, it’s probably one of the most well written RPG style games ever made. Don’t believe me? Google it. The playability, the amount of different side quests, the routes you can take in the storyline, and the twists and turns with in the story as a whole are just incredible. Still to this day one of my favorite games.
By Hashtag game reviewer
My phone is an iPhone 5 se and there are NO bugs for me, I love the open world, the free choices and that this game works OFFLINE!!!!!! Most offline games are limited and boring but not this game. I'm always discovering new things and the developers really have outdone themselves. The verdict... GET THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can’t even play because of a bug 3/5
So I got to the point in the game where I had all of Taris cleared and just needed to go through the sewers and continue the main story. So I had basically done all the sides. So I decided to fight Bendak Starkiller. I ended up dying so I just tried to reload like usual, but there was this weird aerial view of my character where I could access all the buttons that were at the moment invisible. So then eventually it would say “Your team has died” and would tell me to continue from the main menu. So I would and then it would just boot me to the main menu again. Then if I went back it would again tell me to go to the main menu. It just keeps trying to get me to go to the menu but it’s bugged. This is the most stupid end to a game I’ve ever had. Tell me the solution or a method to fix it otherwise I am forced to delete because I’m sure as heck not restarting any time soon.
Edit: Loaded a different file.
Cons: no options and it’s glitchyyy Pros: nostalgia. 2/5
Most importantly: I have a problem where characters after a battle can’t walk. It’s not related to the combat movement option. I have to save and exit and restart. It’s maddening. I’m on an updated iPadPro.
Options: Can we get a skip Taris option? Just to automate your choices there. Because it’s a slog. It’s also not set up to work with the iPad keyboard at all, which it absolutely could be. Can we get an option for that?
It’s fun to replay this game all this time later, but for 10 dollars, I expect it to be polished up enough that it’s not as glitchy as the original, sheesh.
I HATE IT!! 5/5
Just kidding, it’s the absolute greatest! The nostalgia factor does it for me, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve replayed this game over the 16 years it’s been out, and there may be some bugs (I haven’t experienced any more or less than I did playing it on my original Xbox) but if you loosen your puckered peachhole about needing to have everything be perfect, and requiring instructions at every turn, then maybe you can enjoy it and actually see how fun it is to make a decision on your own instead of having to read life’s tutorial first.
No Change 5/5
I’m loving all the comments from the people who never played this on an actual game system. Sorry to disappoint the newer gamers, but this game hasn’t changed, nor should it. It came out on PC and XBOX and it’s the same game as it used to be. I’m just happy that I have it at my disposal no matter where I am. Learn to love this “OG” for what it is. Thanks ASPYR!!!
Bug ruining the best iOS game ever! 5/5
The game gets 5 stars, but on my iPad Pro 11”, after almost every combat engagement ends my character becomes stuck in place and can’t move. If another enemy comes I can attack but I can’t move manually. The only fix is to save the game and reload it or to transit base and back if possible.
Please find a way to fix this!!
Unplayable; Loses progress on app switch 2/5
KOtOR is a great game that I’ve played through many times, but this mobile version is unplayable. I switched apps for less than one minute to call an Uber, and when I returned, all my in-game progress was lost. That makes this app unplayable for me. I’d give it only one star if KOtOR itself weren’t such a great game.
No apple tv8( 3/5
By jman 2018
Great game but disappointed its not available for apple tv. On ios but not appletv? Sure it would get plenty downloads.
Amazing Game 5/5
Everything works amazing and fluently from the UI to the influence system to the ICONIC story that has lasted for a decade as a beautiful masterpiece. Everyone ( even the PlayStation users who don’t get this on console) deserves to play this at least once.
Old cheats 5/5
For Xbox one and one x and the iPad would be really cool to. Type in when you want to level up higher or Dark side faster like the old days.
By Cataclysm 115
One of the greatest games ever made bar none. This is simply put the best Star Wars game ever made, and now it’s on mobile, not to mention that it is only 10$. With a price like that any fan of Star Wars should check this out if you haven’t already.
Don’t buy 1/5
Had to restart the whole game. Because of the game saving on a part in between the menu screen. And after the death of my character.
Great game 5/5
I never got into Star Wars like my dad did until I tried out this game. I loved the plot and the fact that it had the choice of light vs darkness. The only downside is how extremely difficult it is on deck 2 of the star forge and I only wish for KOTOR 2 to be on mobile.
I wouldn’t buy this👎 1/5
This game’s graphics are not so great, buggy, and saving your data can be a real pain. I would go find something else other than this
game breaking glitch 1/5
Amazing game, one of the best RPGs to ever do it, for sure, and despite the bad rap I don’t mind the controls on the port to iOS. However, much as others have experienced, when I get to the swoop race and was locked in that hallway I am unable to interact with any NPCs, including the race announcer, with whom I need to chat to actually begin the swoop race. This breaks the game - I cannot continue the plot. Game breaking glitches on a $10 are really quite...something. Save your money. Submitted a ticket to devs, will update if they do something helpful.
Beat the whole game no problem (dark ending always). The only thing that’s a little weird getting used to is the controls. Which is understandable going from keyboard and mouse/controller to full touch capabilities. It just takes a little getting used to is all. Amazing game and an amazing port. I would recommend any star wars fan or fan of Kotor growing up should snag this game
Third Time I’ve had to Restart 2/5
Game has now crashed for the third time and each time I had restart and lose my entire progress. Really frustrating.
Is it just me? I seriously want to know, because I have a seriously difficult time picking the evil choices in this game. They build up the scenarios so well and flesh out characters and their thought process. I have had this game for years and I still haven’t completed the dark side run in this game and there are certain choices I just can’t make myself commit! I love this game!
Great game when it works! Refund please! 2/5
I love the game.....when it works. The characters become stuck that prevents moving. I have to quit the app every 5 minutes. I’ll be requesting a refund from iTunes for this issue. It’s same I heard nothing but great things about this game
The app should also add cloud services so I can play in multiple devices with my data.
Great, yet still minor bugs to work out. 3/5
By Nightlight 41
The graphics, story line and gameplay is awesome. However, it will, after a while if you play it for an hour or so, quit letting you hear the story when you try to talk to characters. It speeds up the the action or stops it in the movie parts and character conversations. Other than that it is awesome. I normally just save the game often then reload it. Which tends to fix the problem.
Best game on the App Store! 5/5
I love this game, it’s so much fun and anyone who plays it is going to love it! One problem though is that if you beat the game than you would have to restart to explore the galaxy. Now, I know that that’s not a big deal but I really would have liked to have a creative mode so that you can just explore the galaxy.
This game should be #1 5/5
I love this game it is one of the greatest games I’ve ever played and I think they should have the kotor 2 on iOS too that would be grate I hope they can push for this to happen
Can't download. Not enough space 2/5
Okay, I understand why this game would take a lot of space, but still! I had to delete like half of my games and apps for this, and it still didn't work!
Love the game and I’m glad it had been ported over 5/5
I love the time and effort you have put into making the game and I am glad to have it. I think since the last time I’ve played it on the phone however the controls have changed and I’m a little confused at times but that’s honestly my only complaint. It’s a faithful port and I’m so happy to get it again.
Great game, good on iOS 5/5
Great game, had it on the original Xbox but finished it on this, for me it ran smoothly, with only a few instances in which the game would be a little buggy, but nothing serious. I cannot stress this enough: get this game. By far the best game on iOS.
A classic but the controls really need some rethinking 2/5
I feel like the touch controls for this game needed a little more thought. There’s quite a few times where I’ll mistakenly interact with something or someone just by panning the camera. I would suggest implementing a single tap to choose and double tap to confirm to avoid this.
Also the swoop races are just not great with swipes. Providing directional buttons on either side of the screen instead would provide a much easier control during those mini games (or even better, tilt controls). As it is, swiping to steer the swoop bike feels clunky and unresponsive.
That goes doubly so for the space fight mini games. It’s just not a great way to control the turret during those.
I feel like this port is fairly good but the touch controls need more polish to make this a great experience on mobile devices.
By Enosh Kast
This game is awesome! Of course, there are some bugs, but that comes with a 16 year old PC game that was fitted to IOS. Also, I would recommend this game to Any Star Wars fan!
Won’t down load 1/5
Was excited to see this and immediately down loaded it except it won’t actually down load into my phone ... sad
Great, with a relatively good device 5/5
It’s a great game but seems to need a IPod or 6 or higher, and a IPhone of SIX to get rid of this “(NOT ABLE TO INTERACT WITH PEOPLE AND OTHER THINGS)” for people who don’t know how to get rid of that particular bug, you may need a better device.
Please make your game for free 5/5
Maybe you should really use your game for free and then everyone could try it please I have it but people don’t please make it for free so other people can use it
Controls are a little funky at first 5/5
But as you play it becomes easier to play, my only beef is with the swoop races.. I had an issue with the space shooting but noticed if you swiped more towards the bottom of the screen left and right that it would rotate the turret faster.
Observation: This game is amazing 5/5
By Jonas Schlicter
When I first picked up this game, I had heard so many great things about it, but never had the chance to actually play it. Then, when I finally picked it up, I was entranced, obsessed, and utterly amazed. The controls seem very janky and difficult, but they work incredibly well (well, maybe except for the swoop racing controls, but I’ll get to that). From the moment you start the game, you are entrenched in a thrilling, action-packed plot that starts as a faithful homage to the start of A New Hope, but is unique enough to stand as it’s own, distinct adventure hook. Once the basic tutorial is finished, the game opens into a mostly open map where you can decide where you’d like to explore. You can find dozens of people to talk to and things to learn as you search for you next means of advancing the story. Exploration is the biggest driving force of the game. Through the world of Taris the game teaches the player that digging into every nook and cranny can be very rewarding, suggests that the player does not necessarily have to be a stoic, perfect hero, and drops subtle hints about the story that most players wouldn’t pay much attention to at first, or sometimes even notice on their first playthrough.
If anything about the gameplay is cause for hesitation it is that the systems and rules are very complicated and difficult to comprehend for those who are not very experienced with role-playing games. The rules and mechanics of the game are almost identical to those of Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition. I happened to already understand those rules going into this game, which made understanding abilities and feats much easier. I fear that players who are not familiar with said ruleset might be a bit lost early into the game, but I feel that a dedicated player will take the time to learn these rules anyway.
The only other real problem players might see with this game is that it is not very forgiving. Unless your character is put together with the best powers and stats, you will need to spend a lot of time hunting for items and treasure that will increase your stats and make you capable enough to face the final challenge. I am not spoiling anything here, but I highly recommend saving your game before traveling to the final star system in the game. Once there, you cannot return, and if you are unprepared and have no save to return to, you are pretty much screwed. But, enough of my nitpicking, now for the good stuff!
The obvious crown jewel of this game is it’s story. This game boasts such a fantastic, realized group of settings and characters to support an incredible plot that flows so effortlessly along with the player’s actions, as tension builds with each main story quest, which culminates in an absolutely stunning plot twist and an intense, heart-pounding finale, both of which are hinted at from the very beginning of the game. Its story rivals that of the original movies in quality and buildup, which is difficult to accomplish in such a genre.
In summary, this game is an absolute knockout of a video game, and has stood the test of time. I highly recommend this game to any RPG fan, whether you are a huge star wars fan looking for a taste of nostalgia, or if you are just interested in playing an RPG in the setting of the space-opera epic. I wish you good luck in your travels, and may the Force be with you!
One of the best RPG’s ever. Updated for and runs great on Xs max.
PERFECT! Now.... 5/5
Port the second KotOR to iPhone pleeeeease!!
The Game is Great, But...... 3/5
This is one of the best games of all time and the port is a decent one. But there is a very irritating bug and UI problem that needs to be addressed. The bug involves the quick save function. Occasionally it will set your saved location to right as the party is wiped. So you’ll load your save to a dead party, your previous quick save being gone. This caused me to have to redo sometimes 40 minutes of time. For a console/pc game that’s irritating, but for a mobile game that’s down right frustrating. After a few instances of this I gave up the quick save and used the regular saving.
The UI issue has to do with selecting things. It can be a little frustrating clicking on parts of the screen trying to actually select what you want. I’d be cool if there was a way to cycle through selectable things in the environment like in the console/pc versions. I can’t really think of an easy way to implement this, but it’s something to consider.
This is an amazing game 4/5
I just want to sing the praises of the people who brought this to mobile... but sadly I can’t. This thing is extremely buggy but when you finally work your way through the game it’s worth every second.
