Best app for a smartphone 5/5
Strava is the Facebook of the future when everyone realizes running and cycling are fun. No one will ever care that exercise is good for you.
Great App with some missing features 4/5
By Josh Rosas
I have been using Strava now for almost a year and it’s great, I have use Nike and Runtastic, Strava has been better in my own opinion, all the useful data you can get is really valuable when training, the only “bad” thing is that you don’t have an option for Trail Running, this is a feature has been requested I think since 2015 so we don’t have a tag to identify runs on roads from trail running, beside this the app is a jewel 😎
Watch out your credit card 1/5
After downloading a free version and not authorizing any purchases, a charge for $29.99 immediately appeared on my credit card statement.
Beacon Doesn’t Work 1/5
By Kris Vlad
I really like the community of runners and cyclists. It’s easy to join group runs and rides. However, if I’m PAYING for premium features like Beacon, then why doesn’t it work with Apple Watch? It’s the series 3. It has GPS. It even has cellular data. It makes NO SENSE that the app developers haven’t fixed this.
Considering this is a paid app the Apple Watch integration is poor. You have to manually sync your runs. I mostly ride a bike so I don't have any complaints there.
This app is really designed for cycling. The running is just added as a side feature. It’s not designed for runners.
Great App!! 5/5
By Jake Mastronardi
Strava is a great app and is a great way to keep athletes motivated!! I highly recommend using Strava if you are looking for some motivation to get out and excercise!!
Missing Some Key Features 3/5
They really need to add hikes/walks to weekly avg
Love it 5/5
Getting worse 2/5
I’ve used Strava for a few years now and up until a few months ago I would have given it 5 stars. But the past few months it has been so unreliable that I am ready to delete it altogether and find something else. About 30-40% of my runs have missing miles. I’m very frustrated with Strava at this point.
Pretty good, but no iPad app and no media controls in Watch app 4/5
Could be better if they had an app for iPad and media controls in the watch app
Stop resetting my Settings!!! 2/5
I love the app but absolutely hate how it screws with my settings with every one of their frequent updates. Every other time I ride my beacon has been turned off as the new default.
Really Like Strava 4/5
Really Like Strava but immediately after I started paying for the service my runs began to be dropped randomly, not the entire run only parts of them. My 13.1 became 12.9, etc. would really like for that to be solved. Never had the problem with the free version.
It’s not about the KOM 5/5
By Bike Pilgrim
Strava is the easiest app for tracking rides. I think of it as my ride diary. Its nice seeing my progression as a cyclist. It’s fun to see what my friends are doing as well.
Best training tool 5/5
This is a must have if you are competitive. It helps to train and go for KOMs.
Still Crashing 2/5
Many updates later the app still crashes continually on the iPhone X. Please fix.
Strava is great- a few suggestions 5/5
I love strava and I think it works super well. I have it connected to my Garmin and it’s a champ!
have a few suggestions of how to improve. For running, strava should match indoor runs to indoor runs and segregate outdoor runs.
For cycling, you have it do a better job at segregating trainer ride, solo outdoor rides and group rides. The numbers are all completely different yet their beings compared to each other.
Also, road bike vs mountain bike, headwinds vs no wind. At least include data when there is heavy wind or the info simply doesn’t match.
Time for some updates and changes 3/5
App hasn’t changed in years. Paying money for nothing new. I’d love to see an analysis page similar to zwift companion - power, cadence, speed, elevation etc all on one overlay with the ability to remove/add metrics. Right now can only even get cadence on computer - why? Maybe get the relive extension built in once activity is uploaded.
No better apps out there. But let’s make some changes before another app comes along.
Show device on the phone 4/5
I can see the device name in web version, why not add the same in iOS version?
Cant give kudos on ios10 4/5
On recent versions, giving kudos on ios10 doesn't work. On the feed, it takes you to the page for the activity, and there it does nothing. Kudos work as usual on the web interface, even on ios10.
Junked up 3/5
I hate the podcast advertisement and suggested athletes. I also don’t like seeing when people ride on their trainers and post it. “Yo man! I just rode a stationary bike for 20 miles!” That’s great. I don’t care.
Does not work with Samsung Galaxy at all 1/5
The Strava app is fine on my phone. But if you have a Samsung Galaxy Watch, Save your electrons.
You need to get a four digit code from Strava. Follow the links within Strava and you will only open the app. No code. Zippo. It just doesn’t work
On the Strava page it does not list Samsung as a supported product line. I think the map my ride app will work with Samsung, I deleted Strava and will find out if this is true.
Won’t pair with my Apple Watch 2/5
I have been using Strava for over a year with my Fitbit. I hated that I always had to start my runs with my phone and not my watch. Finally bought an Apple Watch 3. For the main point of being able to start my runs with my watch. Well Strava won’t pair with my phone because of motion and fitness. I have re-installed and messed around with it 10 different times. Will be finding another app if Strava cannot fix this.
Superb at what it does, but lacks meaningful features 3/5
By Carlos from Philly
I hesitated to give this app a three star review, as it does what it does very well:
This is a five star running (and cycling) journal.
I use it to measure my progress, and religiously add post run notes that offer context.
Outside of that, however, it falls flat.
People tend to speak about Strava as a social media platform, but it hardly is. The tools available to discover and connect with local runners are non existent. Even club search is very one dimensional; if you don't know the name of the club you're looking for, you won't find it. Search results don't prioritize location (for club or athlete) which makes using this as a tool for connecting with local runners or clubs next to useless.
And once you do find a club of people you know, the experience is similarly underwhelming. There are no club contests, or ways to organize club runs, events, club vs. club challenges, etc. Just a simple leaderboard and text posts.
With all the hype I read about Strava I was anticipating a robust social media experience, but only got a well designed running journal (I want to emphasize how well designed albeit limited this app is).
I'll explore the API and will likely try to design a small social project around Strava, and will undoubtedly continue to use it personally as it will be great to have a long term log of my running progress, but as of now I feel disappointed with the platform.
Fingers crossed that the devs do more to build engaging, social/community focused tools into their service.
Edit: also what is with the out of order posts? Weird to see friends' runs from October show up before the runs logged yesterday.
Edit2: PLEASE add Flybys to mobile!
Still freezing 2/5
The app has been freezing and stalls my entire phone. This has been happening for months now. Becoming very frustrating as a paying customer. Please look into this issue. I know I’ve read other reviews with others having this issue as well.
Does the job but needs an option to mark 1/4 miles
Strava is my activity journal 5/5
I consider it essential for my motivation. Helps me track my progress super precisely but also highlights progress I may not see, e.g running my fastest 10k during a practice run
Never stop not improving 1/5
Lots of annoying bugs and sloppy design, both in the apps and on the backend.
Strava is awesome! 5/5
I love how Strava allows you to race against yourself every time. Also the year record of mileage & elevation is great. Kudos to you Stava. Thank you for your service!
Strava and Garmin 2/5
My Strava data and Garmin data rarely match including paces for swim and run. My bike paces are usually similar. Please update to match both. I trust my Garmin data more.
Display more digits!!! 2/5
PLEASE add the hundredth decimal point (0.25mi instead of 0.2mi) to the watch app display. It is VERY important when running/training. It is the only reason I will be switching to another app. This is a deal breaker. Come on guys, it can’t be hard at all to do this. Every other app displays it the way it should be except you
Amazing app. 5/5
This is my new Facebook. I use it three times a day minimum.
Excelente,se puede ver todo el trabajo diario y el progresó diario
Great Product 5/5
I love using Strava😊👍
Sooooo buggy 2/5
This app feels like it was half-a$$ed. Super buggy. Crashes alot. Buttons and scrolling are super laggy. I love Strava on the phone so come on guys!! Figure it out.
No connection 1/5
My strava never immediately pairs rides from straws or from my wahoo element bolt. I have to disconnect and reconnect constantly.
Don’t mind it, but could be helped. 4/5
Definitely better than mapmyride or whatever the Apple Watch “record” app is. I wish there were more workout options, like barre or HIIT. I don’t like how when I do an indoor ride, it picks my default bike, with no option for a spin bike. Being able to add a bike or other gear from the app would be helpful, as opposed to having to go to the website.
REALLY wish I could edit the recorded time- there have been several times when I forget to stop recording the workout from my watch, and the workout ends up being waaaay longer than it should be.
I like strava, I like the community.
Will give you an idea:
Almost every time I go for a ride, specially during the winter season, I keep finding stuff on the road: a glove, sunglasses, a light.... and we all do the same road few times a week.
you should integrate a find/lost option on your plateforme.
I would be more than happy to enter a description of what I have find in the app, maybe drop it in a coffee shop or a bike store who is a partner with starva (that’s a win for everyone) and on my way home. Then you receive a notification that something was find on your ride (did you lost something?) and the person who have lost something can enter a description of it via a filter and if that match, the person will receive to localisation of the item lost. And starva can give a badge (or a free coffee or whatever) for being a good human. :-)
Performance degradation 3/5
Seems to have slowed down navigation within Strava app :(
Love this app! Easy & fun to use!
Great app to track rides 4/5
I’ve been using the Strava app for several years now and love it. It’s great being able to track achievements, history and progress. It’s fun to follow other riders and to be followed and cheered on. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is that it occasionally fails to track a ride - so you lose self-credit!
Great Social Media 4/5
Definitely enjoy this app, it is my favorite social media as a distance runner. However there should be a way to group runs together if you’re doing several reps in a workout. This way you’re not spamming everyone with 10 consecutive posts and it would all become a group workout. Would love to see this on Strava but otherwise great app!
Posting to Groups in New spot 4/5
The new release through me for a loop in how to post, but I like the new options.
Horrible application for last year 1/5
The app does not work consistently with my iPhone X. Tracking is sketchy and has stopped working completely. Also the auto pause feature has stopped working. There does not seem to be any easy way of reporting this issue other than via a review as the support site is simply a series of faqs. I realize I am using the app for few but there is NO way you are going to get me to pay for an app that does not work with the latest iPhone. Finally the gps tracking issue always seems to crop up right before an apple iOS update.
Selection of Bike on App 4/5
For my last few rides I have been unable to enter my selection of bike that I use when posting my ride on Strava. No matter how many times I edit the post to try and enter my bike selection data, it does not happen.
Hate it 1/5
By Cindy Pear
After a couple years 3/5
By Matt Golueke
I like Strava, however recently it seems to be killing my iPhone 7 battery...to the point that I need to ride with a spare battery.
Would be great if there was a way for the iWatch to provide Strava with heart rate data while its running on my phone.
Route planning?? Both following roads and connecting breadcrumbs like when you run on trails 3/5
The Strava app is great as it works now. I would like to see an addition to be able to plan routes with the app, drawing runs, rides, swim sessions on the map with our fingers. That way if our route won’t sink up because a malfunction occurs with our watch, or we forget our phone and watch for a run, or want to plan a new route somewhere the. We can still upload the route and see exactly how far our distance travelled was.
More options 4/5
They do have a lot of options and overall it’s a really good app but they should add snowmobiling especially if they have e bike let’s be real that’s not a real sport 😂
App crashing 2/5
By Aniya 007
Since the last update my app will not open. Please help!!! I think this is a great app but I don’t won’t to loose my data.
