Great and???? 4/5
I enjoy Strava so much. It’s made a huge difference in my general outdoor biking. The main thing I’d like to see is a more frequent changing of worlds. I think there’s too much London and too much New York. I haven’t seen Innsbruck in a while. I’d also like to see an indicator when we’re doing workouts that are level is a little low and we might not pass that particular workout.Keep working on Strava, and I still think it’s wonderful.
Strava on Apple Watch... 3/5
reviewing for apple watch only... perfect for running, good backup to my bike computer for biking, does not support swimming yet afaict
Excellent app 5/5
Strava is my #1 most used app. I am a mountain biker and a runner and strava is the perfect app with very few drawbacks that I can think of at all. Very easy to use, rarely any glitches, does everything I needed to do.
Just missing a few features 4/5
The primary futures work great. For me, that is real time speed. I have to pay for the upgrade package to get it, of course. But it never seems to lose their GPS signal like other apps.
I wish it showed temperature and the current time. Of course iOS shows the time at the top of the screen, but it’s way too small to see you while you’re riding.
Although Strava doesn’t have a dark mode, you can re-create it with dark mode in iOS. You can set the Accessibility settings so that dark mode turns on with three clicks. That’s easy to do mid-ride.
Keep up with the neighbors 5/5
By Lil' Baj
I recently moved to a new city and immediately found several neighbors on Strava. They keep me motivated to keep moving. Thanks to Strava for the motivational platform!🤓
Strava keeps you accountable for what you do on a day to day basis.
Best cycling app ever! 5/5
If you want to keep all your data and find new routes, and meet people all over the world this is the place!
Not usable for me because maps only point North 1/5
I’d love to use this app while biking but the map is locked to only point north instead of orienting itself in the direction of travel. To bad, seems like a good app otherwise.
Good app 4/5
By Tommy Unger
Right balance of upsell vs functionality. Appreciate connecting with people around the world. Wish multi mode adventures were more easily tracked.
Latest update runs sloooow 3/5
By Len Novak
The latest update , the program runs really slow
I paid for this?!!! 1/5
I do not like this app. What is the point of having the app on your phone when you have to use your desktop to look at any real data? And how hard is it to make changes to something as basic as your shoes? This shouldn’t be that difficult, especially for the annual membership price. I wished I would have done a free trial - oh wait, they don’t offer one -BECAUSE NO ONE WOULD BUY IT.
The NIKE RUN app is a thousand times better- more user friendly, easier to navigate, provides a training schedule you can edit to your schedule, you can change what shoes you wore on the app, it tracks your mileage, pace and elevation more accurately and...and.... it’s cheaper.
I won’t make the mistake of using/paying for this app again.
Apple Watch is not working 1/5
I have this lousy with Apple Watch works with garmins great
Makes me appreciate Runkeeper so much more 1/5
This app is the worst! I downloaded it to participate in a running contest with some friends. My loyalty to them is all that kept me from deleting the app the first time I used it.
It is not at all intuitive, is less accurate than any other running app I’ve used and the worst part is the Share setting. It is automatically enabled to the Everyone setting and there is no way to know that, until you inadvertently post your first run by saving it.
I’m coming back from an injury and am currently so slow I can’t keep up with my running group. Just getting out and moving again is a painful challenge and seeing my worst times posted for all the world to see made me want to give up rather than keep going.
Fast or slow I’m not a person who likes to announce all of my activities to the world but this app only allows workouts to “count” toward challenges if they are posted for everyone to see. I couldn’t stomach it so I made most of my runs private and only posted enough to keep participating with my friends. I think the creators of this app should really reconsider if posting publicly should be a requirement to participate in challenges. Why does my effort only “count” if I brag about it? Shouldn’t it be enough for me to work privately to reach a personal goal? If my followers don’t see my run, did I even get off my couch?
Landscaping - PLEASE 2/5
By The Peab
I enjoy using Strava as a part of my ongoing health regimen, BUT, please or please get your iOS app to landscape, and without pointing fingers at Apple for whatever hassle they may be making to get that to happen, please just do it. Thanks. (This would be a four star experience otherwise.)
Crashes a lot and doesn’t even approach the functionality of the website. 1/5
The Strava concept and database is very powerful and very handy if you like to keep track of your workouts and be social about it. But the Strava website is not a very well written one, with many interface issues that make it difficult or impossible to do specific things.
The iPhone app is not any better. In fact it’s much worse. The crash is often, and it lacks lots of functionality that, for some reason, seems like it would be very easy to add in. It leads me to believe that the portable device audience is just not very important to Strava.
Inaccurate, and Strava doesn’t let user edit 1/5
Strava doesn’t allow anyone to edit activities. They say this is because people would cheat on challenges and segments.
That is a ridiculous policy for many reasons:
1. Some people forget to stop their watch/app at the end of their workout, so it logs their car ride home as part of the workout.
2. GPS is often wildly inaccurate on small courses, like a track, where counting laps is much more accurate.
3. Treadmill and spin workouts already don’t count towards challenges (or segments). This means the app/website already has the ability to exclude data from challenges. So make edited workouts work the same way.
Strava’s one job is to be an accurate activity log. If it can’t do that, it’s worthless.
Still, deserves one star (not zero) because the UI is nice, and the segments are a nice way to race the neighbors or find neat spots when traveling.
Strava and the iwatch app 1/5
I’ve been using Strava for years when I (road) cycle. Then a few years ago after a total knee replacement, I started swimming. I bought a Garmin watch to track my swimming progress and was happy to see that the Garmin watch, used to share this info with the Strava app on my iPhone and automatically shared this info. It had my swim with all stats right on my iPhone.
I recently was given an Apple iwatch as a gift and it has a default Strava app on it. It does not offer a swim tracking option. Furthermore, the Apple default activity app which I’ve been using for swimming does not automatically share this info with the Strava app and there is no option to do this.
So, I’m kind of disappointed since I am “friends” with a few people and would them to see that I am still training. And I would like them to give me the 👍 after a swim. Now I have to explain that I’m using a new watch that doesn’t offer swimming in the Strava app.
I suggest the developers figure out how to incorporate swimming in their iwatch app or at least “share” this info with the Stava app the way Garmin does.
Great Social App 4/5
Love the app, features are decent. Wish you could add vert to treadmill runs. Kindof a bummer you could pound out 2K on a vert workout and get credit for none of it.
Also, splits are goofy since last release often subtracting miles/time from workouts.
Porn and sex soliciting 1/5
Quite all services due to porn and sex soliciting. Developer failure and absolute security threat.
Where is Yoga? 2/5
How come I don’t see yoga on the app but your description includes it?
Fantastic but would like real time speed 4/5
I only use Strava when I ride, no Garmin on Rother device. I find it really relatable and useful I only wish I could get my speed in real time.
Thank you for adding better wheelchair and handcyce support! I can't wait to try them out!
It’s such a motivational tool but lately the app crashing... 4/5
Lately just trying to view the feeds or even attempting to edit my own information has become impossible. Running the latest version of Apple OS 12 as of Jan 14 and I’ve tried multiple times to look at an activity causing multiple crashes. It would be nice to see the app back to the stable system it used to be.
Lousy needs audio prompts. 3/5
Does not function as advertised. Folks who answer emails are clueless. Even for free it is a waste of effort.
Watch app is broken, audio cues broken 1/5
Can’t sync heart rate to iPhone when you start a run from the iPhone. Audio cues operate whenever Strava feels like it.
Very inaccurate 1/5
Strava stopped recording my runs accurately; for example, an 8 mile run would record as 2 miles and my path and pave would be all over the place. I wasn’t able to complete the Lululemon challenge for this reason. Endlessly frustrating app, and I am very glad I deleted it. It isn’t worth your time.
Motivated by it 4/5
By motivated by it
Strava is my running partner. Keeps me on track! My wife likes that it sends her an alert and she can follow my run. So she can run that same route
My wishes 5/5
I have used Strava for at least 5 years. The one addition I would like to see is the use of the # I.e. #mySMR...
Segments are still horrible 3/5
Been broken for years and complaints all over the web. Searching for local segments is basically useless
Strava is the best. A must have app for runners with gps watches.
Like to thank the Strava team for taking biking to the next level of riding. Connecting riders from around the globe and community. Looking forward to the new year with Strava.
This app is really fun and functional. I wish I could manually enter elevation along with my Time Distance. So far I’m liking the Strava App.
Great +idea 5/5
By mitch (logang)
This app is great. We use a club to have my school Xc and track team’s activities on it. It’s fun to see where everybody running and their stats. The recording of runs from the app doesn’t work very well but I got a Garmin so it’s fine now and uploads immediately. A feature that I think would be really cool is to have a place where you could see all of your runs on one map. So you can see everywhere you gone on all your recorded runs. I would want to try and run on every street in my town.
Not reliable on MTB miles 3/5
Could do a better job tracking mileage. Very inconsistent at times.
No laps 2/5
You can’t measure laps or segments, like when doing hill repeats. What kind of running app doesn’t let you do that?
Great to have a fitness social app 4/5
There needs to be a way to remove likes or other peoples comments on our own posts.
Can’t imagine running without Strava 5/5
By Dustin Diaz
App is perfect supplement to the website, and syncs perfectly with the Apple Watch. Thanks!
No Longboarding Category 3/5
Good app, however the developers won’t listen to a request from its users to add skateboarding or longboarding as a sport.
I would make it 5 stars if they would actually add it. Their online forum has over 4 years of constant requests for this feature.
Some good improvements needed 5/5
By lech buga
Current pace in addition to avg
Strava review 5/5
It’s the best software I ever used
Tracks Everything 5/5
I like that I can track all my different activities in one place and share my activity with friends. I can also keep track of what they are doing.
Great app 3/5
I use the app because my group uses it but it’s wrong a lot. My start and stop time are different from my Garmin and/or Cyclometer. Mileages are different even though it’s transfer from my device.
Sports App. 5/5
An almost perfect and accurate sports app. that reports many statistics.
Getting better 3/5
The bug fixes are actually addressing annoyances in the app. The need to go back to an activity after it auto directing you to the feed was a nice fix.
I have an issue now where when you used pro, turned on beacons, then quit pro, the app will never let me turn the beacon off; instead it bombards me with an ad to turn sign up for pro. The issue with that is that now every time I use an activity it forces me to say “don’t send beacon text”. Minor, but for an app I use every single commute it can be quite annoying.
So juss 5/5
Love it. It’s so awe!
Strava holds me accountable
No current pace for running 1/5
Odd that current pace is not available in your runs. All you can see is the avg split time of the current mile you’re in or the total avg of all your miles in this run. Why would you not be able to see your current running pace. Very odd that Strava doesn’t care about this. So I don’t recommend this for runners. It’s a great app outside of run training.
