Awesome and would love to see more bike categories 5/5
I love all of the features that Strava offers! I would love to see a way for ebikes, tandem bikes and mountain bikes to have separate categories.
Freezing up during races, finish stage but freezes up and I loose my results! 1/5
I never had any problems until I joined a tour. Now it has frozen on me twice in two stages!
By far the best fitness app in existence 5/5
By Prudent Bridge Builder
Strava is the seamless way to track your rides and runs anywhere in the World. Incredible customer service. Compete with your past performances and compete with everyone else in the Strava community
Facebook for runners 5/5
Good accountability and nice for mile splits and elevation.
As an athlete, this is my favorite form of social media. 5/5
I log my miles, choose to make it public or private, and see what my friends are up to. Great way to find new rides too.I lock my miles
It's so meh! 4/5
Like it or loathe it STRAVA is hear to stay. Use it how you won't just don't be stupid. It's really not worth risking your life.
Good platform, terrible app 1/5
Nowadays, I get a very intrusive all screen ad for their subscription multiple times a day. That's in addition to all the ads in the feed for Summit.
It's just extremely annoying, especially because the subscription is quite useless.
The app is bare bones. Simple things like adding new shoes need to be done on the website.
If you can't build your platform features in an app in 2019, you're just a bad company.
The only updates they release are for removing features from the app, most recently connection to sensors because they can't be bothered to make them work
Started receiving porn SPAM after 2 weeks. 1/5
After less than two weeks after signing up with the Strava app I’m receiving porn SPAM that looks like it is coming directly from Strava. This tells me the information I submitted to Strava is not secure and I warn others about this. At this point it appears my age, sex, home address and email address has been compromised by Strava.
If you want to receive email like this, sign up with Strava.
“Hello! I am a lonely beautiful girl write to me here (insert tinyurl URL) wants you to check out December Gran Fondo.
Have fun out there,
Your friends at Strava”
There are other apps that do the same thing which I will be trying out and hoping they have better security protocols.
Slow, won’t load 3/5
Unfortunately, the latest release is unimaginably slow. It’ll take at least 30 sec to load, if at all. Hoping Strava team troubleshoots this bug soon!
nasty email 1/5
By Jessica Thomlinson
I deleted my Strava account because of the nasty email that I received from Strava. Other users also received the same email.
Getting spam from “members” 1/5
It’s bad when you are awoken at 4 a.m. by a “lonely girl” wanting you to write her at a certain url...
Every time I open the app you want me to sign into Facebook. Please make this go away or honor the fact that I don’t want to use Facebook.
Does not track Heart Rate 1/5
This app does not have the ability to connect a bluetooth HR monitor through your phone for HR data while using the apps tracker. LAME!
Manual Lap Please! 4/5
The only thing keeping this app from being 5 stars for me, and I bet a lot of other people, is the inability to manual lap on my watch. If I’m doing hill reps or 400s or something like that I would love to be able to lap it. I have to switch to my Garmin when I do workout runs for this reason.
It seems like manual lap should be a no brainer with ANY running app
Why do I still get notifications from Strava when I have turned every and all notifications OFF???
Thanks for the mapping features.
Such a cop out 2/5
By Gregory F. Miller
They just ported the iPhone app to iPad and we get this shrunken window that’s not really the app. Looks terrible.
Recommend just using a web browser instead.
Shame on strava developers.
Running app without Heart Rate functionality 2/5
Loved the app, I now just like it to keep up with where I’m at in pace with my runs. If you’re gonna have create features that enhance the customers experience, don’t eliminate one of the most important pieces to this app; heart rate monitoring.
I get it kept crashing, it kept this, it kept that. Y’all are much better than that. 😞
This problem could get figured out somehow someway, interesting how other running apps don’t charge and can still provide heart rate monitoring and calorie tracking without it crashing.
I miss the better user friendly Strava. It used to be incredible, now it’s just.. ok.
Update issues. 3/5
After every update there is always a issue with uploading the activities from your Apple Watch to the app. Have to reset up everytime and the latest update became worse. Now it takes forever to upload a activity or it doesn’t even sometimes. I have the Apple Watch 2 does anyone else have the same problem?
Not safe for women 1/5
By Eddie Hazel11
Met a woman was stalked because of the lack of privacy controls. Dangerous if you’re a woman. Will sell your data to the highest bidder. Not a safe platform.
It’s good for social athletes. 2/5
I have been using Strava regularly in a effort to really understand why people are so drawn to it. In a word: it’s the feed. It’s seeing what others are doing and measuring your progress against them. My issues with the app are:
1: bad UX. It is confusing to use the app. I want to go straight to my history which is under profile.
What’s the purpose of the “Explore” tab? Seems useless. I spend too much time trying to find my history and rides and the app is confusing. Make it simpler.
2. It seems inaccurate. I have used Strava on the same runs and compared it with my friends Garmin GPS watch. Strava always seems about a half mile off than the others. I’ve tried different apps too, and used phone only and Apple Watch and the mileage is really inconsistent.
I wish it was a better app, because the ability to connect with friends is great.
Deal Breaker 2/5
I’ve been loving this app for quite some time, but discontinuing support for heart rate sensors is a deal breaker. I’ve cancelled my Summit membership and have switched to other fitness apps.
Love the app but... 1/5
Strava knows about the multiple entry upload to Apple Health and just don't care. Some rides of mine get uploaded to Apple Health 8 times. What the hell? It's not even like a once in awhile occurence but every single ride gets uploaded to Apple Health multiple times.
Even their directions to delete all Strava data and reupload it to Apple Health will result in duplications.
Solid app but needs basic improvements 3/5
Straightforward and reliable app. But the multi-screen multi-button way of starting a recording is clunky and fails UI Design 101. And no iPad support, really? Sure, we're not going to go running with our iPads but it would really be nice to have for mapping and analysis.
Also, latest update as of Dec 2, 2019 suffers from frequent freezes on iPhone 8 / cellular.
Split times include non pause totals 4/5
When a run activity is saved and auto pause is on, split times include paused time totals. This has changed about 2 versions ago. Split times had shown total movement time with pauses.
1 Star for 0 Support 1/5
I’ve never had so much trouble trying to get help from a company. Four months and not even a single attempt at customer service. All I get is the bs “thank you for your question....we’ll get back with ASAP”. Thanks for nothing.
I could very easily love this app, and I still use it for some activities, but I just can’t give positive feedback when you won’t even give me the time of day.
Do not buy 1/5
Purchase summit on Strava. Took my payment but no summit. Can not get any customer service. Use only free version.
Irreplaceable - what social media was meant to be 5/5
I dig strava
Incorrect distance tracking 2/5
I use Strava (free) on my Apple Watch. Why can Apple’s Workout track a straight line, but Strava and other 3rd party apps cannot? This morning, Strava’s recorded distance was 5% longer than Apple’s, and you can see the tracking line going haywire at a few select spots, adding nonsense distance.
Stop detector also doesn’t detect very well, so my average mph is very low. Apple’s Workout app only has stop detector for running.
Non-Stop FULL SCREEN ADS 1/5
I pay for the annual subscription and am forced to tap through a full screen ad nagging me to buy ANOTHER subscription “for a loved one” EVERY TIME I use the app. What a miserable experience.
This is after they randomized the feed and clogged it with “Challenges” over the years.
The App experience is far worse than the website. I can use an ad blocker on Strava.com to filter out some nonsense but the app is very annoying to use.
Strava recording 5/5
By SlimJim 40
Great App use with it Garmin connect use with phone Record hikes keep track of other Friends rides
No Bluetooth Support 2/5
Bluetooth functionality on a fitness app is not even a differentiator or a nice to have, it's a must have one. In my case, the app becomes a not a good to use without such basic functionality.
Holy hell the ads for their premium feature are extremely intrusive. Maybe make your premium features worthy of purchase and the people will come. The ad literally just says to buy summit, and doesn’t include any language of what I’m actually getting. Ok...
I love this app!
By Sebastián Lopez
They fixed the app when it didn’t allow me to sync activities, oh yeah 😎💁🏻♂️.
Long time user, first time deleter 3/5
I’ve used Strava for years, it’s kind of a social network for activities. However they’ve now put so many ads in it I’ve deleted it. But they haven’t made enough of a value proposition to justify buying it, they just ripped a few features of from Training Peaks and added ads. Rather than actually making the app better. So, thanks for the good times but see ya Strava. 👋
Ruining a good thing 1/5
This app used to be excellent. Now I can’t press a single button in the app without an intrusive summit advertisement appearing.
App has been inaccurate in reporting distances lately. Routes that I used to run with consistent distance totals are now showing up much shorter.
Great app - indoor and outdoor tracking 5/5
Strava is my go-to app for all activities. Intuitive UI, works seamlessly with Apple Watch (and other trackers), lets me track outdoor rides and my indoor spin.
No heart rate 1/5
Very disappointed Strava removed Bluetooth from their app. No heart rate on a running app?? Crazy.wont be using this app anymore, back to MapMyRun!
Removed BLE HR monitor support 1/5
By Echelon Bob
Out of the blue Strava removed support for Bluetooth heart rate monitors. I can no longer use my Bose Soundsport Pulse.
No warning, just reduced functionality.
Now that $60 yearly subscription I paid is useless.
Going back to Runkeeper.
I love Strava but how about some improvements. 3/5
Lots they could add which would be nice. Search capabilities for one.
Good but annoying 4/5
Stop asking me to join for free but ask for my credit cards. Please.
Glaring flaw 1/5
They somehow can’t get the watch app to sync to the phone app so if you’re a bike rider you can either have a bike computer or you can have heart rate but not both. Also, there’s a fun glitch with this review box where I can’t actually see what I’m typing so please excuse the errors. I guess they don’t actually want people to review their app which h is understandable. The app works well for most cases, but if you’re a cyclist and you have an Apple Watch you want to use for heart rate while using the phone app for a cycling computer, no dice. One or the other bub. There’s a few threads in the support forums about this but they go back years with no vendor input so it looks like the devs aren’t going to add this feature back in. Also, if you’re interested in controlling your music from the app, you are again SOL. In other apps you can choose the playlist or artist to use during exercise and it would handle the rest but not this app!
No Heart Rate support anymore 1/5
No Heart Rate support anymore - can’t believe they removed Bluetooth and Ant support. Any suggestions for a decent run tracker would be appreciated. Looking for something that supports a HRM and has a competent programming team. It’s amazing that Strava just gave up bluetooth support instead of fixing whatever bug they had!
Save a ride 5/5
By Cathie’s MAC BOOK
I wish Strava could save a ride, then let us bring back up and navigate
A little (some would say more) glitchy with latest update. 4/5
By Paul E Wog
Long time user. I generally like the app, but lately with the more frequent updates, comes a few more glitches that usually get worked out fairly quickly. I hope so because the latest is bigger. GPS did not map about half the run on a run I’ve done 8-10 times. I really wanted to see how I did on a segment but of course it didn’t capture it.
Strava on the Apple Watch 4 4/5
By Mr. Detzel
Overall it’s okay. The one big thing that the app should do is connect with the cellular Apple Watch. It will not connect to the app directly until you have the phone to sync up to it. Because of this the app sometimes doesn’t come up with the watch when trying to run.
Need a separate Mountian Bike Sport, the way e-bike was set up 3/5
By jCool Dj
Need a separate Mountian Bike Sport, the same way e-bike was set up, with the following new features:
1. A means to flag a segment as not part of the ride to remove shuttles and lifts from the ride data
2. A total feet/meters Decent parameter
3. Calories calculated for down hill riding
4. GPS selection of the trail when the trail closely parallels a road.
Anyone else have ideas..... this app needs to better fit what mountain bikers need. john
Amazing app 5/5
By app user 20469201
This is an amazing app that all of my friends use to share bike rides, runs, etc. The only problem is that sometimes it says that I have 12 notifications when I actually only have 2 notifications. This doesn’t really affect anything and it doesn’t take away from the fact of how fun the app is.
