The App America Needs but not the One it Wants 5/5
Strava is a phenomenal app geared to helping us keep track of our workouts which in turn helps us live healthier lives. If this app was as popular as Facebook then the only crisis that America would be having would be running out of running shoes.

Beacon a No Go 4/5
Not so long ago or maybe longer Free membership users are optioned to sign up for Strava Summit via the Beacon feature. In the preference field when selecting “beacon” the next screen appears and advertisement screen for Summit. It cannot be ignored and beacon trouble shooting is not available.
The Beacon feature suddenly stopped working and my family is not in the know when I’m riding my bike. This safety feature is one of many features I like about Strava.
I don’t want the app on my pad 1/5
I hate having to disconnect my keyboard so I can hold my iPad in a very uncomfortable portrait mode because the programmers are too lazy to make a landscape mode for the iPad.
Now you are trying to force me to use it by taking me to the App Store every time I click on an email that has a Strava link in it.
I like the app very much on my iPhone but you need to make an actual iPad version!!!
Knock it off with the surreptitious advertisements 3/5
Everything was going so well: your support staff are excellent by the way.
And then, in June, I started seeing ads within another athlete’s posts. This is someone else I follow, but now their activities mention that they are using a Wahoo Element GPS, and there’s a banner at the bottom offering to let me shop for a Wahoo Element of my own. Mine is a two-pronged complaint:
1. I have paid for Summit for two years. To me, that means no ads. None. If I wanted to advertise for athletic gear, GPS units, underwear, et cetera, I would use a competitor’s product. I don’t, and this is why.
2. I already have a GPS from a different company. Does that mean that my activities are trying to sell my followers a GPS similar to the one I use?
Not cool. Get rid of the ads, and keep your support staff. Whether or not you decide to fire the management that decided to force-feed us this “feature” is up to you.
By subscr. scam!!!
Quirky is perhaps a matter of getting used to. The worse evil is that they require a reoccurring subscription with initial trial run and then make it near impossible to cancel!! Spent many hours trying to cancel, finally got a cancellation verification, only to get charged again at the next cycle! Had to open a case with Apple and spend more hours. No way to contact them directly for a simpler resolution.
1 flaw 3/5
Need to be able to set zones. If not this is nothing more then a social networking group.
What’s So Great?! 1/5
I’ve been using Map My Run for several years but heard wonderful things about Strava from running friends so I decided to give it a try. Not sure what the big deal is... all this app does is track your activity and share with friends. It is NOT connected to your music (you need to open your music app for that) and it does NOT announce mileage and time during your activity, something I need to hear during a race. No thanks, I’m deleting this app and returning to Map My Run!
If it’s not on Strava it doesn’t count 5/5
One of my favorite apps. Despite the fact that it consistently tells me I am bottom of the pack.
Training week Monday only no good 1/5
It has been requested since 2014 that we be allowed to start our training week on Sunday or any other day of the week. In spite of hundreds of requests for this the developers have been silent for 5 years. Many of us need to start our training week other than Monday.
Just finished a 22 miles ride with a 14 mph wind in my face but Strava quit working somewhere on way back. My split out was 40 which for me is great. So disappointed I can’t see the results of my efforts.
Clean, Fun & Outrageously Expensive 3/5
Subscription model is highway robbery but the implementation is fairly nice. Live segments certainly make workouts more engaging. GPS track accuracy is much better than with competing apps like MapMyRide. But the subscription fee is price gouging and really pisses me off.
Strava with Apple Watch 3/5
By Funkemonkey chicken
I love almost everything about Strava, it’s easy to use, I can easily read it while running. The ONLY thing I would change is if it would display mileage to the hundredths during my workouts on outdoor runs, so I know if I’ve gone 3.21 vs 3.25.
Apple Watch issue 4/5
Happy with app but had a problem today. Recorded a 5 mile run today but was unable to save it. Hit finished on watch and saw “movement not detected” while I was walking the end of the run. I tried for 2 hours to “finish” and save the run but had to give up and close the app. I had WiFi and GPS per Nike and iPhone XS do not sure why it was not working. Is this related to the addition of Beacon?!!
Love Strava but this app crashes 3/5
Per the title. Been through many updates, but it never gets better. If I’m in this app looking at details of friend’s activities it’s guaranteed to get hung up quickly. And it brings my iPhone to a grinding halt for a good 20 seconds before I can do much.
No better than Strava 5/5
Amazing app. That sums it up.
Stops recording randomly 3/5
Overall ok to use and better than other apps. Periodically it just stops recording while I’m running and I don’t get credit for all that I’ve run.
(To the App Store - I had a prior review and I had to delete by hand to write a new one. I guess you only get one review per app? Kinda clunky that way. )
Needs 2 decimal places 2/5
You just added another cool feature to Apple Watch but still refuse to add a second decimal place. I just don’t understand.
A Fan 5/5
By walter Q mason
The greatest app of all time.
Thank you for finally adding Beacon notification on Apple Watch, I can now leave my iPhone at home when I go out to run. Everything else is great too as far as I'm concerned.
HRM - still no support, despite “swim” in tagline 1/5
Come on, Strava. It shouldn’t be “five years difficult” to fix.
iPhone Constantly Crashing With Strava. 1/5
iPhone is constantly crashing under the use of this app, when this happens it affects the entire iPhone including any other app for a period of about 10 to 20 seconds even after attempting to close the app.
It’s a shame that I have to report this issue through the review process because neither Strava or Apple has a simple process of reporting these kind of issues without having to go through a whole login process or verification of some sort.
BPM not detected 1/5
I’ve installed, uninstalled a number of times. Then restarted a number of times. Still no BPM transmitted from the Apple Watch.
Please bring heart rate monitor back to fitness trackers 3/5
Please bring back the heart rate monitor on fee app for fitness devices and smart watches.
I have been a Strava member for some time and like the app, but don’t appreciate the removal of heart rate monitor on the free app for the Apple Watch. I understand that Strava is trying to drive users to the premium versions where features include heart rate zone analysis. However, blocking native Apple Watch functionality while recording the activity is not a good solution. Instead you should continue to provide the heart rate monitor during Apple Watch usage, but not provide details & heart rate data stratification on user profiles when activity is synced unless they are paying for the premium packages.
I’m sure several members check their heart rate to monitor their health while training to determine if they should increase or decrease intensity based on real time feed back.
Please add this feature back to the app.
some issues 3/5
I wish I had the option to pick swimming or kayaking while using the apple watch but it doesn’t have it as an option so I end up using something else. Also it shows my workouts listed duplicate times on my iphone and apple watch with the health and activity app. Otherwise I enjoy using Strava.
Please move the pause/stop button on the record screen 1/5
By A chemical engineer
Multiple times, I have accidentally paused recording an activity in the process of switching apps. Then I missed out on most of the data, as I had just started the recording, then immediately went to switch to another app. For devices without a home button, where we need to swipe up from the bottom to switch apps, it is very easy to accidentally pause the recording. Then Strava and the users both miss out on data! Please move the pause/stop button on the record screen to somewhere it is harder to accidentally hit. Thanks.
More training features 3/5
I wish I could easily look up past workouts and have tagging abilities. It also looks like I lost history from Sept. 2017. Not good if you are trying to analyze year over year training. I’d also like a feature to set weekly intentions.
More of your life tracking 5/5
More tracking, more data of what you do, more world domination.
Poor GPS all the time 2/5
Does this ever actually know where I am? Absolutely abysmal GPS tracking. Try to update it and still it can’t get an actual location.
Almost perfect 4/5
Nice app! 5-stars if they fix the bug where if you search for and open a friend’s profile the app frequently hangs using 100% of the phone’s cpu.
Great social app
Good but room for great 4/5
Apps should mirror desk top. I want elevation correction on the app. Also allow to edit distance on swims across all platforms watches often miss laps and sometimes double up. No segments in pools so no integrity to worry about
STRAVA is Great! 5/5
I am an avid cyclist. STRAVA keeps track of all my rides and gives me speed, distance, elevation, etc. It stores all these rides so I can look at my weekly, yearly, and/or total rides and miles. In addition, I can follow my biking friends and they can follow me. We can put kudos and:or comments on each other’s rides. Another benefit is we can upload pictures taken on our rides. Love STRAVA!
Feed is not being updated properly 3/5
Strava iPhone app is not updating the feed properly. I can see that the feed is up-to-date on my computer, but I cannot see some activities until hours later in my Strava iPhone app. This happens for the activities of people I follow, not for my own activities.
Love it 5/5
By Heavily taxed
I really like the app. If they could include interval training it would be amazing
Latest update broke app 1/5
By Doctor Mantis Toboggan
Three different rides have either not recorded anything (shows where I start but shows 0 miles) or has a map full of straight lines all around the city like the gps thought I was instantly jumping from one place to the next.
Go to 5/5
I’ve tried a lot of apps that do what strava does but strava is my favorite because it’s accurate and leans on the side of pessimism which helps me keep first under control
Great app 5/5
Great app but please show cadence graph on the mobile app. I do not want to use the website for just one feature or back to the garmin app. Please no not that:)!
Strava App 5/5
Love this app. Great features. Captures time, avg speed, max speed, etc. Follow others too. Great app.
Nice app 4/5
By Dorian Leiva
I love the app and like keeping track of my progress. I would suggest adding a mileage ranking within the Clubs. Thank you for making me want to be better and as a result healthier.
A Great App 5/5
By Triker Frank
Strava gives me all the information I need to track my progress on my bike and is very easy to use. I strongly recommend it!
Heart rate not recording while running with Apple Watch 4 3/5
The app works nicely all around with one frustrating flaw. The heart is not recording for both indoor and outdoor runs. It works fine with other activities such as outdoor bike ride.
Got Strava? 5/5
Strava connects you to the world - see where people ride in other countries and view awesome scenery sometimes only seen by bike - being connected is awesome 😎
Strava review 4/5
Needs a MTB shuttle option
Can't see trail map on iPhone when actually riding 4/5
Generally quite like Strava. My biggest complaint is that when I am actually riding, using Strava on my iPhone , one can not see the trails. When one checks your tracks on a desktop, all the trails are seen, but when being able to see the trails would be most useful on the iPhone, when out on the trails, Strava does not show them. I wish that would be improved.
Strava does not Lie 5/5
By Deb BarStevens
Thank you guys for a wonderful App that keeps every body honest , this app pushes you , pisses you Off And helps make you Stronger ! The rout tracking and sharing is Awesome!
Solid bike app 5/5
It picks up gps signal very quickly. I also like how it keeps track of mileage for multiple bikes.
The one thing I wish it did would be keeping a running total of miles for the year.
My go to cycle app 4/5
By Works far away
Like the app and the compatibility with my iWatch! Would love to have my iWatch have the capability with this app to have it ding/vibrate every mile so that I could be more aware of my turn to move to the front when group riding. That and maybe being able to pull up my average speed during a ride on my iWatch instead of having to wait till the end of the ride to see what my average was. These things are not deal breakers for me but I would love to see them as improvements. Love the app! It’s awesome for keeping track of my rides with my cycling buddies. Love the segment challenges to keep competing against others and push myself. Love getting badges on segments. I only have two apps that I use for cycling and my iWatch and Strava is my go to app for cycling. Thanks
