App has no 3 day forecast (Fixed) 5/5
By Wanna be Surfer
This issue was resolved after I downloading a new version of the app.
I love this new version, it has all the info you need and it does not look crowded at all. Great new wind, tide and weather graphics.
(Below was the issue before the fix)
Surfline is a great app, its stable, accurate, good camera angle. Unfortunately non premium users are no longer able to see the 3 day forecast.
So worth it! 5/5
I remember the days of no cams, drive and drive... premium is a gas saver therefore a money saver.
Love checking out of area spots which often turn into trip planning 👍
Gives you all info you need 5/5
Been up and down Cali coast and all of Hawaii. Always accurate and up to date. Plan my days off this app
Make this a real app already. 2/5
I used this app a lot in past times but grew tired of the forecast. “Beach break might be good but so might the reef so just pick and choose”. Pick and choose? The whole reason I would get the app is cause I want it to tell me where the surf is going to be the best. Ya I know lame but why else would you spend time on this app. Just go to the beach like it used to be then. I feel like the forecasters are always throwing out smoke screens so their break (or break of the day) won’t be crowded. I wanna know where you think is the best place to go surf for the day and why! Otherwise why would I pay any money to access stuff that is free on the net. I.e. wind, tide. A clear statement with the best predicted break or breaks of the day and why (wind+tide) and when should be in here. I really dislike the vagueness of the reports. It’s like they woke up checked the cam (didn’t go to the break) and made a lazy prediction. And how is ocean beach San Diego the same predictions as blacks beach San Diego just cause they’re in the same vicinity. Make this thing a real surf app already. With social interaction made easy and clear points to the best surf of the day. I don’t care how crowded it gets out there. You could be educating people on how to pick the best place to surf and why. Bottom contouring, swell direction.... just tell us something besides pick and choose for the money. Pick and choose!!! That’s why I wanted this app on the first place. For it to pick and choose for me. Ya I know lame. But people want to be educated.
Great app! 5/5
Great app to check conditions with the cam feeds.
By Miss Beagle
The app’s worth having for sure as long as the cam at your spot is up & running but you do get a pretty decent overall picture which is good, water an outside temp, tide all that
Best Surf App without a doubt. 5/5
Love the cams and being able to see live footage. If you don’t like the ads, then pay the fee. I did and I love the app even more. You can’t expect a company to put up live web cams all over the coastal area and then give away their service. Ads or membership. I think the cost is worth it and the service and unlimited webcam access without ads is makes the app a must have for any surfer looking for good waves and limited crowd.
A complete backwards step in progression for this app 1/5
Surfline needs some new software developers or at least some better guidance. The app is dog 💩!!! It used to be a little better but now every time I go to app it logs me out and takes forever to load. Also I enjoy surfing clips and the “feed” of surf clips can’t even be sorted!! Also half of the videos won’t even load or the audio doesn’t work correctly. C’mon guys!! Give the surfers what they want!
Still the best.
Buggy AF 1/5
Cams worked fine one minute. Then the next all cams don’t work. Sounds like a software bug to me.
Great App for surfing! 5/5
Perfect for checking wave and swell report!
It’s the best out there right now 4/5
Good app but tones of advertisement (if you don’t pay for premium) but even after every 30 second clip of the surf you have to watch another 15 second add... lame 30 seconds not nearly long enough to actually see what’s going on.
Good app 4/5
I'm glad the app is out there.
Easy to set up your favorites.
Good rough report.
If premium I should not get ads....):
They need a brainstorming round table of surfers w programmers and spice it up.
The Ultimate Wingman 4/5
It's always there for you. It's completely honest with you and isn't afraid to tell you it's real opinion on those feisty waves. Occasionally you might get a tinge of doubt, wondering if it's just trying to throw you off course so it can swoop in and steal yo prize, but then you drive down just to see it was right all along. Those waves weren't worth your time and Surfline was a good friend after all. And as they say, the best spot is is always the one closest to you.
Still The Best Surf App/Website 5/5
Yes I agree that the ads are a bore (but there aren't any though if you're a Premium member), but it's a minor nuisance to bear for access to accurate reports and a beautiful interface with the most cams available. It occasionally has crashed on me too but rarely recently. For my 80 or so bucks per year Premium subscription for extended web forecasts, having this companion App is a dream and i actually use it more than the website everyday. Well worth the cash and minor nuisances - when the App is down due to location reception issues, going directly to Surfline Mobile on the internet usually will work unless one's cell signal is close to nonexistent. I agree that controllable cameras would be ideal but with their subscribership it would probably be impossible (can you imagine playing camera tug of war with 5000 Chads and Kimos at your favorite spot). Let's stop whining - you pay more and it isn't perfect but it's pretty darn good. Disclaimer - I'm not on their payroll).
Good job 5/5
Just great overall

Been broken for a while now 2/5
The api call on mobile looks like it’s been down for 2 plus weeks. Probably not acceptable
Great info, easy to understand 4/5
I love the info and the way it’s presented. It’s easy to see how everything is connected.
I would love to have a rip current advisory notification (the app Clear Day has one) as I have a 5 year old and dog and worry about them.
I highly recommend this app!
I am happy to be able to watch the waves and ocean, awesome, beautiful. To be able to also watch surfers is a plus.
Thank you 4/5
Thank you for updating and exterminating the most annoying bugs.
Great app 5/5
To everyone crying about the app 5/5
By Ur moms p ussy
Just go surf and quit crying or learn how to check the waves in person
Logs me out 3/5
The latest version keeps logging me out of my Premium subscription, making me log in every time I want to access favorites or view content.
Good, simple app 4/5
Does what is says. Easy to interpret. I would add an option to message the reports but other than that it works great.
SAves gas! 5/5
The annual subscription more than pays for itself in gas saved and if you know the exact time you catch a wave go can go back and watch yourself surf it on the cam rewind feature!
Not a surfer 5/5
I’m not a surfer but I got this (the paid version) because I love the beach and now every morning I can watch the ocean at beaches all over the world! Until I can move this brings me joy! 🥥 thank you!
Good App 5/5
It serves its purpose when I am looking to surf
Best surf forecasting and cams 5/5
Many of us feel the ocean/beach is our lives, this is a great app to keep on top of what’s going on.
Thank you Surfline
Updated Review 4/5
I had a 3 day forecast bug that didnt allow me to check further out than the day of. The guys at surfline reached out and helped me find out it was a glitch and not normal so all is good. It’s a good app, its basically most helpful with premium so check out “magic seaweed” for a FREE 7 day report.
Ads for premium members?? 1/5
Whoever is the product manager of this app needs to understand it is a cardinal sin to show ads for people who pay for a subscription.
Swimmers delight 4/5
I use the app to figure out best time to open water swim. So far, accurate information and great swims. Thanks
Great App! 4/5
I use this everyday. Love it! Just need to keep adding more cams to check the globe!
Ah cmon 2/5
Put the buoy reports on the mobile app pls!
Now with ads! 1/5
Bummer. Even with a premium membership, you now have to deal with pop up ads. Was great without the ads. Now considering canceling membership - too annoying.
Oh my gosh an iPad app! Thank you! Finally! 5/5
Thank you so much for the iPad app. I have been waiting so long. I don't check the surf from my phone at the beach. I don't need to because I am standing there. I need to check it at home before I leave and drive 2 hours on PCH for nothing. But the iPhone app makes the video sideways and it was so hard to use. But now it's iPad optimised and I love it so much. Now I can view videos right side up before I leave the house. Thank you much Surfline. Now I won't keep cancelling my membership.
I use this app everyday. It's very accurate and it gives me tons of information about the waves. I tells me wave height, tides, wind speed, and live surf feed.
Love this app 5/5
Ok, first, As stated, I love this app. I don’t mind paying the price of a coffee monthly to be able to go online and see sunrises and sunsets. I love being able to project onto my living room tv as I listen to the sounds of surf. I wish I lived on the beach but this app, yes with its surf reports I don’t use much, is delightful. I wish more cameras were available, but it’s not like there aren’t plenty. If I can’t be at the each, this app still gives me some of the enjoyment of being there.
Ouch on the update 2/5
The forecasts and layout are becoming increasingly hard to decipher. But, but why? It all was so great before
Sell out 2/5
By Great guy#00000001
Surfline used to be a great app but over time they keep limiting what a non premium user can do. They are forcing users to go premium so now unless you spend $70 a year to use the app it’s practically useless. Some of the ads now aren’t even surfing related, at least before when you’d watch ads it was surfing related so it was bare able to watch. Surfline is just another one of those apps that is selling out. So what used to be an awesome free app for checking the forecast is now just corporate American greed with only one goal, to make as much money as possible.
Great app 5/5
This app is terrific whether its looking at your local surf or watching pipe from your doorstep. Well done!
It’s amazing but if you want to know a week a head you have to pay but every thing els vary good.
Wonderful love the app 5/5
Killer!!!!!!!! Love the app!!!!! Way better than it used to be!!!!!!
The only source for surf forecasts that I trust and use here in San Diego.
Why can’t it save password?! 2/5
Every other time I open the app I have to enter my password. If I wanted to enter a password every time, I wouldn’t be using an app, would I? WTH.
Love this! 5/5
I’ve only had the app for two months and quickly was convinced to go premium. I love it even more! Quick, clear, easy to use.
Precision Forecast 5/5
By LPB Commics
The Surfline is very precise and helps a lot to plan surf trips and check the conditions way upfront.
