Best surf app 5/5
There are full time weather people checking the waves for us. It’s worth the subscription fee for sure! They taught me a ton about weather and surfing. I can’t stop watching the cams. They are so key for me deciding to head out. Thanks!
Just do it. You’ll be happy. I promise. 5/5
Not worth $100 2/5
By Mojo Workin
Long time premium customer. But no longer it’s just to expensive
I have tried to use the website version. I use chrome and have your site white listed, still blocked. Absolutely no way contact technical support !
This use to be my favorite app. It’s just to frustrating to use now.
Worth it! 5/5
Totally worth it if you live near the ocean to check your local breaks.... even if you don’t surf it’s nice to see all the different places with HD picture.
It’s also cool because you can take a screenshot of yourself waving at a lot of these cams
Sunset handrail 1/5
By chicken jeroni from holes
I am severely disappointed. I was really looking for the surf conditions on sunset boulevard. Specifically the intersection between sunset and Cory Ave. there is a great handrail and I went to surf it and the conditions were not listed. Please update the cams to include a spot check of sunset and Cory. Thank you.
I think surf line is the best surf app there is. I like it so much because without I have to carry my board to the beach just to see what the waves are.
So far so good. 5/5
Have used a number of apps and I am liking this one a lot during one trip. Will update after I become more familiar with with its accuracy. Love the UI.
Not very accurate 2/5

Used to.... 1/5
By Mc-puffin on da 805
Used to be my go to app. Used to let me read articles without paying. Used to be able to watch my home break without paying... The so called “local” forecasters aren’t local, they claim they know the break, really?!? This company is worth millions, and they still make us surfers pay like we are made of money. Looks like Surfline board members have been caught up in L.A. rat race too long. Piss off with your politically correct response too. Get more local forecasters, get rid of exclusive cams and get back to a great place for forecasting and reading.
Took me a minute... 5/5
Took me a minute or two to figure out, but it’s fantastic
Must have if your a surfer 5/5
By Icons mgskks
I always use this app when I am going out to surf, I’m a beginner surfer but know my stuff. I use this to decide whether or not I will go out to surf on the waves that are good for me, I recommend this app to anyone who enjoys the beach and uses the waves!
Easy way to check
Somewhat accurate I do see it says poor sometimes and I still go out and have a good time. But love this app so much wish they let u do more without premium
The best surf app a surfer could ask for however premium ads need to get turned down.
Thicc app 5/5
Great App 5/5
By charlie murphy 🤡
This app has helped me find many new surf spots and has always saved me the labor to have to bike down and check. Overall a great app so keep on doing what your doing!
$100/year and still see ads 1/5
By Jake Hilborn
Please remove ads for premium members. This is ridiculous.
Gotta love it 5/5
By kyle oside
I tried a few other apps/companies a few years back and then decided to pay for yearly with Surfline. Love it. Check waves and swells. The cams are HD and they do a great job maintaining and allowing you to see the actual breaks. Best bet is to buy subscription. Cheers!
Worthless software 1/5
Since my favorite surf cam went hi-res I had to pay $10 for a month of premium. Since then every other time I want to look at the surf I get a “Ops, something went wrong” Message. I will cancel at the end of the month. I am better off walking to the beach than going through the settings of this worthless piece of software. Spare yourself the money and the hassle.
Superior Surfcast 5/5
Great product, reliable. Thanks.
Need more cams though.
You should move the cam from crystal cove to 40th st., crystal cove isn't even a surf spot.
Might be worth it if you’d utilize premium 3/5
By Jakes feet
If you’re looking for a good app and you’re willing to pay a minimum of $100/year, then you might consider this app. They really push premium so if you’re looking for a good free app this isn’t your choice — lots of adds and they’ve downgraded functions of the free version. The one benefit is day-of webcam use, which is quite nice. It’s the only reason I still have the app. Other than that I’m not to fond of it but then I don’t have premium🤷🏼♂️. I don’t feel it’d be worth the price but maybe I’m wrong. There are other apps, websites, and webcam accessing sites that are free.
Also, I live in Oregon and don’t surf super often; so take that into account.
If you want to know about the beach... ask a surfer 5/5
Sincerely! This app is not just great for surfers... is the best total beach report for anyone.
When I go to the beach for a rehab swim I don’t need to have the big surf. I want to feel confident of my skills and focus if alone. Plus, if I’ve made the ride to the beach I need to be able to go in the water.
This is incredibly helpful.
There’s some good reads and info as well.
Great surf app, all the info you need to pick your surfingmspot 5/5
Great surf app, all the info you need to pick your surfing spot. Anywhere you need it. Thank you for Surfline for improving my surf life

Amazingly Helpful 5/5
I started surfing towards the end of March. My best friend goes with me and her dad has been surfing for years. We were looking for surfing apps and her dad recommended Surfline! We looked at it and downloaded it immediately. I was obsessed with it. It had everything I needed to know and more. I don’t have premium, but even then, it is a really helpful app to have if you are a surfer. There are lots of features including favoriting beaches you like to see them faster, and you can even connect it to Siri! I love this app and will have it for as long as I’m surfing! Would definitely recommend!
Better than I expected. 4/5
I have a premium account and I think it’s worth the $. It may be a bit steep on the price, however, there seems to be quality in the smoothness of the app, and the app has an easy user interface.
NJ cam meltdown. 1/5
By Dayaks 123
I’ve been a premium member for years. I rely heavily on the belmar and manasquan NJ cameras to plan my surf sessions. With out them I am shooting in the dark. I find it weird that both cameras went down within the same week and there is no explanation on why. These cams better go back up soon or I am cancelling my subscription.
By Michael Uzamaki
Great when quick forecast of tides/ waves is needed to paddle surf or surf in general.
Great App!! 5/5
This Surfline app is a great app because it is very accurate!! And it helps me k ow when there are good waves to practice surfing
Overpriced app and web cams down 1/5
By Anthem Bumbai
Two of my local cams have been shut down since being a premium member paying $10 a month, overpriced, and most of the cams are not even usable. Ads show up on premium account holders screens, seriously?? Ads on premium membership are you kidding, at $10 a month??? So I canceled!
Very good quality 5/5
When ever I want to go out surfing anywhere I always check Surfline. Sometimes it gets annoying walking all the way to the beach just to check to see if the waves are good then coming back getting ready then going back out but now I don’t have to do that, I check to see the waves then go out.
Trying to charge for old news 1/5
By Mojo Surf Design
Okay Surfline, you went overboard recently trying to force users to pay for a subscription to read a story about Mike Stewart chasing swell around the globe. While it’s a cool story, you have posted it many times in the past for free, and the story is now decades old. So why the sudden push to charge big for it? Can’t keep being a supporter if you guys are going to get greedy, with an old story.
Watching the Surf 4/5
This app allows me to checkout the surf wherever I choose. Some camera areas are better than others. However , surf reports are extremely good.
To be honest I love to surf this is so easy just getting a Notification saying oh hey today’s a good day to go surfing instead of just going online and having to go through the whole fiasco and just trying to check it LOL but I rate this at five stars
Accurate, but not consistent 3/5
I was excited for this new app when it gave me accurate wave size then, I was disappointed because they only updated in the morning so when I went to surf after lunch the app was totally wrong and there were no waves.
Advert driven 1/5
This is a decent app, except for th persons that decide to ok religious dogma and the latest smartphone to buy or accessories you don’t need in your life. Hey people in charge....of you read reviews......keep it about surfing! We get enough of that crap shoved in our face all day everyday! I understand revenue, but have some morals! Be true to the lifestyle of surfing! If you want religion in surfing, then make a Christian surfing app or something.
Money mongers! 👎
Only room to grow, great product 5/5
It’s a great tool. I would hope to see better search functions in the explore tab, beaches, etc. consider a travel blog/forum. Easier access to LOLA classic (to be able to find past data). And a charts view.
Surfline Premium is essential to my surfing. I check several cams frequently and rely on the forecasts to plan my dawn patrol sessions during the week. My schedule is busy and I don’t like to waste time preparing for a surf session that does not materialize because of poor conditions. With Surfline’s tools, I can plan ahead and I am very rarely disappointed. I have also found the Surfline team to be very responsive. There have been a couple of occasions when the angle of a particular cam was changed due to cam maintenance or repair. I emailed Surfline and said that the new angle was not helpful in evaluating the break. Not only did the Surfline team acknowledge my email immediately, they updated me several times as they considered my suggestions. Ultimately the angle of the cam was tweaked to make the view of the break better and I received a follow up email. The whole process was very gratifying.
In my view, the Premium version is the only way to go. I don’t like commercials in general and I don’t like to only have a limited time to observe the break. And if the surf is bad locally, I assuage my frustration by staring at foreign breaks and dream of surfing there.
What else could you want for a wave report? Literally everything a surfer needs
Love Surfline 5/5
Surfline premium is a must have for a traveling surfer! 21 days forecast and it’s pretty accurate even that far out. Even though I must say Surfline has done a good job of crowding breaks that were once unfamiliar in my hometown👎🏼. Get rid of all the webcams and it’d be perfect! #kookland #goldforecast
iTunes Login Prompt 3/5
It’s been almost a month now that I need to log into my iCloud account or click cancel to view cameras. I’m a premium subscriber, I have my volume on, mute off, and it’s the same in WiFi or cellular connection. App functions once past the prompt, but an update is merited to avoid this. (I believe I’ve pulled my credit card info from my account settings to prevent an auto-resubscribe next year; I’m not sure if that’s what’s prompting the incessant login prompts. Cameras I look at are mostly great. Great service I’ll probably always use, as long as it stops being annoying.
Just wana check the swells 1/5
Use to be so easy to use. Open site see the swells for the next couple days. I gave up on the app before I even saw any swell report, needs current location, needs you to sign up, app keeps pushing you to sign up for the premium account. Wth Surfline??? I use to love using you to check swells up and down California to Mexico.
icloud password request LOOP 4/5
By Clark e baker
Every time I open the application I am prompted to enter my icloud password. Pressing cancel allows me to use the app. But it is very annoying.
I have tried all recommended solutions I could find on the web including the deletion and adding the app back
Can someone investigate?
When cold ops big the app, a prompt to login into iTunes pops up. You can hit cancel or login but still get prompted later.
Great App 5/5
This is a great app for seeing surf conditions anywhere.highly recommend
