I hate this.
Sets great limits for kids 4/5
This app is identical to the circle device so it’s easy to navigate. Able to limit my kids access & download so they can focus more on homework.
Useless !!!! 1/5
I would really pay double for this service if it was working. The VPN setup is the stupidest thing the developers could come up with! There’s no way for a parent to control the access to settings in iOS and the child can toggle off the VPV and voila - all the parental controls are out the window!
Like I said- useless!
Pointless app 1/5
This screen time does not work. All my children can by pass the screen time and stay up longer than they should be!
I rate this ten cause it works for small children but i know how to connect to my hotspot so hehe... take that. Mom.
By Roman TC
not worth money
Parent “s” 2/5
It would be useful if they realized that children can come with more than one parental unit who needs to manage the account. The controls Seem to miss the fact that sometimes one parent is unreachable for days and then it switches to the other parent being unreachable.
SO DANG FRUSTRATING
NEVER CONNECTS 1/5
I lose contact with my moms device every single day and when that happens I have zero service and can do absolutely nothing. Every time I open the app a “try again” message pops up saying to make sure I have a profile (which I do)
Can We Solve 2/5
Our home base is constantly offline and I’m unable to connect. The box is very simple so I’m not sure why it won’t connect to our kids phones. All other internet dependent devices work fine, why won’t the base device sync ?
The filtering system is worthless. I can see my kids navigating patterns, but when I click on a link, the webpages are dead. What’s the point if I can’t investigate?
The feature, “Locating my device” through T Mobile Family mode is worthless. My kid had a Samsung device and it rarely worked. Now we switched to Apple and Apple’s system works great, never use FamilyMode specific to this feature because it never worked
Works horribly 1/5
It’s awful and waste of $10/month. Hardly works and I wasted a good part of my work day trying to get it to work.
App Issues 3/5
The unit itself seems to work, but i keep having major connectivity issues with the App. It keeps disconnecting from the home base which renders it dysfunctional. I’ve called TMobile a few times about it and I am BEYOND frustrated. I have two teenagers in my house and need something WAY MORE dependable.
A hassle to log in 1/5
By E Anime Fan
It crashes frequently and it is a problem to log in and manage settings, especially when you are on a hurry. I would not recommend it if you have teens and need to respond fast.
By Apparently NOT a moron
This is one of the worst apps I have and it stinks that I pay $10/mo for it. But it’s really the only way to effectively limit access on my child’s phone.
First of all, there is no option for thumbprint or pin security codes. Instead it is security questions which I guess I chose as middle names of family members. That’s sufficient to limit strangers from accessing my account but a kid is likely to know their own middle name and the middle name of an uncle. The option to verify your phone texts you a passcode. TO YOUR PHONE. So if a kid is attempting to hack into your phone to bypass the controls you’ve put I place, they can quite handily send an auth code to themselves. Then my phone suggests that code as an autofill. And you have to do this paltry authentication every time you log in.
The actual restrictions are terrible and I’m not confident that the counters are correct either. It seems like my kid is being debited for time he wasn’t really using his phone.
This app is better than nothing. But only slightly.
Totally inaccurate. Not worth the headache. 1/5
This app is a complete joke. I’m sitting here 2 miles from where it says I am. Called T-Mobile and they swore that I just don’t know where I am because clearly I am where they say. 2 miles from my living room couch where I’m sitting.
Problem on some games! 1/5
By outlaw redneck
Ever since my dad installed this virus on my iPad on 03/20/2019, four days later roblox hasn’t been working for me, it always shows an error code 262 every time I try to play a roblox game, and I figured out in late May of 2019 that this dumb app was the problem because I temporarily deleted it and re installed it, FIX THIS ISSUE RIGHT NOW PLEASE! I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PLAY ROBLOX IN AGES! FIX THE ISSUE TO WHERE IT WOULD NOT DO THIS! JUST PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
Ruins lives 1/5
This app is the most retarded piece of crap ever made
The app didn’t work properly 1/5
I just had a review and forgot to say, when I went to store for help to set up the family mode again, they couldn’t done anything too, also I called , the receptionist is not we’ll know about it, no one is professional that can solved my problem
Maybe it’s better on Android? 1/5
The app requires VPN to be running to work, but there is no way to prevent your kids from just disabling the VPN. Additionally, turning on the iOS personal hotspot feature allows a device connected to it to completely bypass the controls, even when the internet is paused in the FamilyMode app. Maybe effective for very young children, but useless for older ones.
READ THIS PRIOR TO DOWNLOADING 2/5
My parents downloaded this app for me because they thought it would help me with managing my time on my phone. I agreed with them so we got the app. My phone REFUSED to work for 48 hours and the only way I could get it to work again was by uninstalling this app. When I say it didn’t work i mean I could not open anything regardless of the app saying I had time left. This app is good in theory but not very user friendly in my opinion. I suggest setting rules IN REAL LIFE about when your child can use their phone. (PS I am in 10th grade so I think I can give a valid opinion on this)
I hate T-Mobile family mode 1/5
By phantom Puppet a.k.a. Roguen
T-Mobile family mode so much I hate it so much because you guys made it with there’s a time limit on games and YouTube and all that stuff
Worst App ever 1/5
My son played too much so I got this app and Tried to reward my son and it would not let me open the app .so I tried again in one month and it did it again
By julie zamad
i am a parent and i hate this app so much
it doesn’t give the kids freedom to do what ever they want. you should delete this app
Doesn’t work properly 1/5
I set my daughters phones with this app and it works for a day or 2 then stops working. Bed time works but as far as checking history and filters it does not work .

WORST APP NOT WORTH $10 EXTRA 1/5
This company is disgusting how they do business. You pay $10 a month for a service that doesn’t work 90% of the time. I’ve called t-mobile at least 15 times with this same issue and I’ve had it for about 5 months. It crashes everyday the VPN doesn’t work and turns itself off every day. Clearly there is something wrong with their service and they choose to turn a blind eye and just take your money every month and not fix it. I will continue to call till every month I get my money back for it. I will not pay for something that doesn’t work. The tech department doesn’t know anything all they say is “reinstall the app” “log out” “download again”
I don’t have time to do this every week with customer service. DO SOMETHING T-MOBILE YOU $67 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY!!! You have all that money and can’t fix an app. Lol pathetic.
*update* they reached out to me telling me the same crap I’ve been doing. Check the VPN, install and uninstall the app. I’ve done everything and they’re telling me nothing new like always. And what I don’t understand is how they have so many 1 star reviews but manage to keep a 5 star rating lmaooo ok
If you have an iPhone you can do it for FREE on the phone itself on screen time and it works 300% better and offers more and never crashes. Idk why I even paid for this
Text and phone calls 4/5
It would be amazing to be able to control and see what my child is texting and who she’s calling.
Adds in games not removed 1/5
Adds in games are still inappropriate. Have to buy “ no adds “ still
Good for small children. Useless for most 4/5
App is basically useless. Has zero limits or influence on Hotspot feature. Any kid with a Nintendo Switch or laptop can connect to phone hotspot and browse the web completely unrestricted ignoring this app. T-Mobile doesn’t offer a way to disable hotspot so don’t bother.
Why advertise this app? 1/5
What is this app doing in the App Store if even a T-Mobile representative doesn’t know about it? It simply doesn’t function at all. Zero stars.
I’m really not happy with this 1/5
When I got this I had to make sure that it was working but my internet says I have no service but at the top it shows that I have WiFi on an vpn which I’m still trying to figure out when I want to watch YouTube it doesn’t even show any of my favorite singers or youtubers which makes me super mad or songs idk if it’s the mode that is set on but it only shows me girly stuff I want to watch comedy stuff and have no 3/4 year old stuff like really and I can’t even find lyrics to my favorite songs and if I go on the YouTubers icon it SAYS nothing that they have ever DONE if u are at least gonna put this at high at least put there music it basically seems like the people who did the music didn’t even do anything like their invisible an put the YouTubers stuff like really and it also freezes really easy I have to might have to get another phone just for this 😤
Can't see notifications in app 1/5
The app doesn't provide a place to see notifications. I also don't like that my kids phones get notifications when I check their location. Needs to be fixed.
Very good app so far 5/5
By St. Maarten Strong
Would like to learn more about it
Family Mode Feedback 4/5
By Jim Hancock
Doesn’t work with google triple Wifi spots.
Yay they fixed it! 4/5
All the problems I listed below have been resolved from the time of its first release:
If they spent more time and development on its function rather than its packaging they’d be on to something here.
When I first bought both the plan and the home base a couple of weeks ago I almost returned it the next day because the management app was deleted from the App Store for unanswered reasons. I was told to use the management web portal, which I could not find or access on my t-mobile.
A week or more later, while lugging the base around with the intention to return it, I searched for answers on whether this product would be supported or not going forward and found the app was back so I downloaded it and gave it and the base a try.
As of now I still cannot login directly with the app. I continue to get the message “The App is experiencing difficulties. Login using T-Mobile’s App optimized web page.” It loads it in the app and I can login. More frustrating is that my login is not preserved and I’m forced to manually login twice every time and login even when I switch away from the app and back to it.
I can go on because there’s more issues but I’m out of time for now...
Doesn’t always work 😐 3/5
Doesn’t always work 😐
Really, Tmobile???? 1/5
By Kimyata Boombata
You’re going to charge us $10/month to help us manage our children’s usage??? I recently switched from AT&T where I could turn off data usage with the touch of a button. They offer all of this for free. This feature should be offered as part of our account services since we are all battling the amount of screen time we log, especially children and especially teenagers. It’s clear which companies care about their young users and unfortunately tmobile does belong in that category. Anything to make a buck...
By En forêt roi s'il vous plaît
If I could give this app 0 stars I would. Waste of money and I have no clue what was T-mobiles mind set on this ridiculous app. Best delete it off your service
Not good :/ 1/5
This app is very annoying. If you have IOS I would recommend screen time which comes with the phone and works way better. My son was using it and when he was back on free time his phone still didn’t work. You have to wait very long to get it to work again and I don’t recommend:((
Does not work 1/5
They delete the app
Needs Work 2/5
I agree with “Jennyrosebud”. The child should not be able to access the VPN to turn it off. Fix this problem immediately.
I hate it 1/5
True dat humanzzzz
Not good at all 1/5
There are so many things wrong with this app but first and foremost: it logs you out ALL THE TIME. Sooo annoying
Really awesome! 5/5
This app really helps me get off of my phone more and I would really recommend to parents that want to be able to control their kids devices!
T mobil need to work with google 1/5
What I need to do it work with Google so they can fix a lot of problems on this application if they work with Google that would be great application if you switch for T-Mobile customer service pay attention to this work with Google because find my iPhone it's better than this application but if you guys work with Google it would be better
battery drainer 1/5
This app uses 24% background battery and my phone dies about 3 hours earlier than it normally would without the app. I would have no problem with it if it didn’t drain my battery like this.
In theory... 2/5
In theory this is great, I can keep an eye on safe habits monitor for troubling areas...butttt. The app continuously reboots.
This app should have been better piloted before pushing it out and charging a nominal fee. I absolutely would pay the money if they FIXED the issues.
Huge fail 1/5
I installed this app on all our devices and for starters, only the primary account holder can make changes. Needs to have the ability to make both parents or whomever have control.
The next thing that was the deal breaker is the app doesn’t work properly half the time. My kids were getting locked out of apps that they weren’t restricted from, location tracking didn’t work, etc.
Tmobile FamilyMode is the worsted 1/5
Total waste of money.
2 days ago when we bought my daughter the new xr, the guy at the desk offered for us to have “family mode”. We took his off and paid the 10 dollar fee as well. He even downloaded it on our phones! When I asked why the ratings were so low he said, “there was a week where it kept crashing.” So I’m like “ok” then when we got home I tried to get into it and it says we need to subscribe to family mode on your t mobile account... tell me why this is happening?!? I just want to make sure my daughter is being safe on her phone...
