First to people complaining about lack of work in your area: if no one is using the app to request jobs then you won’t have jobs to accept. I live in a rural/tourist/retirement area and I only clean houses so not many jobs pop up for me. My biggest issues are that the customer doesn’t know that 30% of what they pay goes to Takl for their fees (not complaining about that, but I’ve had two clients get upset upon learning that fact) and then that you accept a job and then the customer can just let it hang for days and even weeks. I have to travel an hour away or more to most jobs available, and those jobs average 4 hours to complete. So I have to block my entire day for any type of plans and just today I found out they can just leave you hanging up until the time of the appointment. No way for me to contact the customer and gently remind them to complete their request. I cancelled family plans for a job today because I really need the money. And lo and behold they never completed their request and I am unable to go later today due to travel time. Also they do not notify the provider if the customer accepts someone else or cancels the job. Had a couple quick build your owns pop up in a more populated area, waited about 5 minutes before hitting that I was available. Waited and waited to be notified and checked the app again and the request was just gone. So there was a waste of another hour waiting in an area for a “now” job only to have it just disappear without trace. As a cleaner I’m fine with what I’m getting paid for the most part (I dread the day someone asks me to do their dishes because like oven cleaning and inside fridge cleaning that isn’t something a typical house cleaner is going in to do) it would be helpful as well to know the square footage of a home because it’s going to take someone longer to clean a 2500sq foot 3 bedroom home than a 1500 sq foot 3 bedroom home. I’ve had customers who should have put house instead of apartment due to size but they live in a townhouse community and believe it’s ok to put apartment.

Great Idea, poor execution 2/5
I think this app is a great idea, and I was really looking forward to trying it out. I have several small jobs Around the house that I need help with, and I was joking this would solve my problems. It’s easy enough to post a job, however that’s where the convenience ended for me. When posting a job, it doesn’t let me pick a range for completion or allow me to keep it as an open job. For example, I need some shutters painted, and I don’t care when it’s done. I’d like to have the option to post that job and leave it up for a week or two to allow potential contractors to sign up for it, but the only option I have is to pick one day and select “flexible” in the time slot. This is such a joke, because it gives me an 8 hour time frame for a single day. I then have to wait to see if someone picks it up, and only when the jobs gets canceled can I then go and repost it. Then I have to go back through and repost pics again instead of just carrying them over.
The payment method seems easy, although it never worked for me. I tried multiple cards and it kept giving me an error and wouldn’t let me add one, so to be honest maybe it’s a good thing no one ever signed up for a job because I’m not sure how I would have paid them. I called customer service about these issues and they basically told me they didn’t have those features and left it at that. I was told someone would email me about the payment issues but no one ever did.
The lack of features wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. Sure, it’s really annoying that simple basic features can’t be added, but if I were getting things done around the house it would have been worth it. Unfortunately several easy jobs (painting shutters, replacing light fixture, etc) were not done because no provider signed up for them after multiple attempts. I’ll be deleting this app and hoping for other alternatives soon, hopefully ones that execute this concept better.

I submitted a handyman request and immediately got 1 response. While waiting for other responders, Takl texts you every 15 minutes to select a provider. After 35 texts in a row, I canceled my account because they were driving me crazy with constant texts 👎👎👎👎

I hired a mover more than a week ago, I signed up, added all my banking info and got confirmation for my move.
Today is is Friday afternoon, I am moving tomorrow morning, about 20 minutes ago I get a notification “Your helper” has canceled and can’t make it.
Can you imagine the stress I am under right now, so much work to organize the move, the new landlord, the times, the expense and everything in between to get a message hours before which simply says “canceled”. I am beyond furious and the reason I’m leaving this review for Takl is because I can’t find anywhere to leave a review about this mover once it was canceled, and also, Takl should have something in place which automatically affects someone’s ranking or review for doing this. This mover still has a 5 star rating and I cannot explain the difficulty he has left me in by doing this to me... I can’t find the right words to even explain how I’m feeling right now, but I will NEVER use this app again for anything even if my life depended on it, I just feel like screaming and am left completely helpless on a Friday afternoon...moving tomorrow morning without movers...you should be ashamed of yourself !!!

I did have a little problem inputting my credit card security code. The great thing is that everyone was super helpful. Also, the person I hired to do the job, the provider was great. Then, because of my screw up w/scheduling I wanted to tip more than the 20% allowed, the teach department worked it out. Very impressed and will TAKL in the future. Provided the security code issue was resolved, I would give this 5 stars!

Update: it has been 7 days since I last contacted Takl and I still haven’t received a response other than their BS confirmation email. Be advised they have no posted phone number, so you can’t speak to anyone. Their help chat also produced 0 responses.
When you book a job, Takl requires you to submit photos - in my case, I booked a cleaning for my 3 bed 1 bath house. I asked for 2 bedrooms to be skipped, but being that I’m an honest person who is willing to pay for a job performed as promised, booked for a 3 bedroom house cleaning. Since I booked about a week in advance, I took photos of my house prior to my picking up/clearing off surfaces and rooms (so, before I’d prepared my home for someone to come and do the “real cleaning”). This proved to be a huge mistake. The provider came, cleaned my kitchen and did the dishes...and that’s it. Didn’t vacuum, didn’t dust, didn’t scrub the sink or the outside of the toilet - it was truly in the same condition I left it in.
I thought Takl would help make it right, but they decided that the 3 pics the provider took of my minimally cleaned-up kitchen were enough to decide that I was full of it and they’re trying to kick me back $50 (for a $150 job) and a coupon code.
It took a week to get a response from them, and when they finally did, they had actually contacted the wrong customer. This person let them know they had reached her in error. TaklSupport was stupid enough to forward her response to them, to me. So now she and I both know each other’s names.
This is the most unprofessional and disappointing business I’ve ever trusted to get it right. Never using again.

The app was horrible to use duplicated orders, even paying I was trying to change the tip and it just submitted as is. The cleaner Michelle was great!! I will not use Takl again!!!!

First time I use this app, I found a provider immediately available to assemble two chairs for me. His arrival time was in 1/2 hour. I waited for two hours. Nothing. I texted him. He sends back a vague response, I respond I will be at home for the afternoon if he is otherwise strapped for time. No response, no show! I text him again, telling him his communication has been less than good and I’m not sure when he’s planning to come do the job that he accepted. No response. Next day, I contact the customer service, they give me no answers but lots of apologies. They tell me I can cancel the provider, which I do, but the job is not done. Customer service tells me they can give me a discount if I will use the app again. I ask how much? They say 10%. My time is worth so much more than that. It was a $70 job. Seven dollars for all the crap, inconvenience, and annoyance is not worth it. I will not use this app again.

I booked a job. Selected someone who was a preferred provider. She never showed up. The takl help chat took no responsibility... oh well just book someone else. And here is 10 percent off. Very poor customer service. They shouldn’t take a service fee if they aren’t responsible.

Good concept but poor execution 1/5
I signed up as a contractor 2.5 weeks ago and have been on daily to try to find work. The jobs are undervalued and extremely far away. (Up to 60 miles) on top of that the job descriptions are so vague that to be able to arrive with all the tools necessary I would need to pack a trailer with every tool I own just to be sure I didn’t drive 50+ miles for nothing.
Contractors: DONT PAY THEIR $30 PROCESSING FEE. Its an unfair app that does not present fair deals for anyone. (Contractors or customers)
Customers: Unless you want unlicensed contractors that are ok earning $7 an hour don’t use this app. I promise you that legitimate, honest, and skilled contractors will not be found on this app. I think the scariest aspect of Takl is that they make contractors sign all liabilities away from Takl but don’t do any kind of verification on licensing or insurance. (So for example if you hire someone to pull weeds and he cracks your sprinkler mainline, your flooded basement, and your neighbors flooded basement, will be on your dime😬)
Hope Takl can fix some issues! Like I said good concept but poor execution. At this point though it is not safe to use.

Takl does not back or properly communicate with their providers. I did an install customer disputed it, going over a month now and Takl has not been able to produce one photo or list of issues with install. Instead they have taken me off the platform sent a $499.50 bill via PayPal. There “resolutions” team gives the same answer every time, saying I will receive an email in 2 days. This has been ongoing for over a month. I have continued to document the conversations as Takl repeatedly makes promise and does not deliver. I have simply asked for evidence of dispute and they have produced nothing and will not communicate

A little apprehensive to use this service at first. However, after having the ability to choose my provider of services and some basic background info, I chose well. I also liked having a price established up front and the ability to pay once work is completed to my satisfaction. I was impressed and completely satisfied! Highly recommend this service and my provider.

I used takl to hire someone to do some yard work today. The worker did a great job so i tried to give them a nice tip. The app refused to let me tip them the amount i wanted to, citing that they were capping how much i was allowed to tip the worker.
I explained during the “provide feedback” section that this seemed kind of cruel to the workers getting jobs through the app, and they sent me an email explaining that i could increase my tip to the worker by paying Takl an additional fee.
So just to be clear, thats like if i went to a restaurant and in order to tip my waiter more than 10%, i would have to pay the restaurant an additional $10.
I responded to the email notifying them that this doesnt seem very nice, and forces customers to have to tip in cash.
In response, they banned me from using the app for life.
Thanks Takl, you’re super shady and unbelievably greedy.

I have used TAKL on 4 occasions for various jobs. Each provider who has come to my home has been professional, exceeding my expectations! The providers arrive on time and the work is completed expeditiously. I know there are competitors out there now but TAKL has earned my loyalty. Always a good value!

This was first time using TAKL. Although I was skeptical at first, I quite pleased.
Tried to Throw the Blame on Their Provider When TAKL Itself Failed Me 1/5
I had a very poor, unprofessional experience with TAKL’s representatives. When I had an issue with a service because the company made a mistake, they tried to have me just screw over their contracted provider and send him home unpaid.
I have filed a complaint and demanded a refund now because the service I expected was not supplied. It was not an issue with the provider, but an issue with the TAKL app and your company. At no point when I submitted my chore request was I informed of how many people the provider would need to bring to complete any size chore, so I contacted a representative of yours who informed me that all moving chores require the provider bring two people (see attached). This did not happen. I contacted your company again when I could not get in contact with my provider. He too was having issues getting in contact with me, so at no point was I able to discuss the project with him prior to him showing up to my house. When he showed up alone, I informed the rep that I was speaking to and he told me I could cancel the project request. I told him I was not doing that because I did not want to screw over the provider who had already driven down to my house and himself did not do anything wrong. I feel it is extremely rude and unprofessional that the solution to my issue that your rep provided me was to tell the provider, essentially your employee/contractor, that he was no longer getting paid and to go home because TAKL told me the wrong information. I paid for this service expecting two people to show up so that my elderly father would not have to help move my couch. I ended up only getting one person (again, not at the fault of the provider but at the fault of TAKL and what your representative told me) and my elderly father had to help the provider move my couch. The only reason I decided to use TAKL was because I wanted to avoid making my dad have to move my couch. Since I did not get the service that your representative told me I would receive and only had half the amount of people show up that I thought would, I demand that you refund me half of what paid for the service.

My Bike assembled incorrectly and Takl refused to give me a refund 1/5
Someone will be killed if they continue to have incompetent people working for them. I made a complaint and Takl said it was my fault I didn’t notice what was wrong with my bike when I paid. Here are the list of things wrong with my bike when I took it to the bike shop to be fixed: when bike arrived handlebars had been installed upside down and backwards. Shift and brake levers and been flipped upside down. Shifting and breaks had not been adjusted properly, the front wheel was installed improperly and front and rear wheels needed to be trued. hd to adjust headset and stem was crooked.
APP is not user friendly. I try to get the 10% and couldn’t added before or after.
