Too many no-show appointments 1/5
I’ve had nothing but no-shows and last minute cancellations. Once got a service credit for the trouble, but I can’t use it because every time I’ve tried, I get another no-show. They haven’t responded regarding the matter either, so clearly neither the “taskers” nor the customer service reps care if they get your business or not.

Efficient to get bookshelf done, I booked the handyman service on Thursday night and got bookshelf installed on Friday morning. The technician was very helpful.
Requested a task and it was confirmed three days prior to date of task. When the date of task arrived the person cancelled one hour prior to the task and informed me to request a alternate person. When I tried to get someone immediately the rate doubled. I feel the app should have found me a replacement at no additional charge and honored the original rate.
I was very unhappy with the way the app handled this situation and deleted it and opted to use Another app.

I moved to SF with the intention of buying furniture here. Bought it and got busy so has so used this app to help me finish some assembly tasks in the apartment. He contacted me after I made the request via the app to get a better estimate on the tasks. He told me he could do it quicker than I estimated, so he shortened the time length for the project. He showed up on time, was friendly, professional, and completed the task within his estimated timeframe. 3 months later I’m writing this review, and I can say his work was quality.

I signed up to become a tasker with the company and completed all of the registration information. Then I had to complete a background check for $20. Funny story...I never heard back from TaskRabbit. When I reached out to TaskRabbit about this issue, they told me I needed to complete all the registration information lol. Nice scam!!!

Hired a mover on TaskRabbit, the guy stood my up on the day of moving. I reached out to TaskRabbit customer service, they said they were a platform and had no control over the helpers, then they just canceled my task all together.
I tried to at least leave a review for the tasker to warn other customers, but now the task is ERASED from my account, so I'm not able to leave reviews. And when I search for taskers, the person who stood me up won't show up in the results anymore.
So when you see a tasker with 90% positive reviews, he or she may well be someone who doesn't show up or return your phone calls, and leave you scrambling with your moving all alone, because TaskRabbit essentially prohibits people who experienced similar things like you did from making their experience known to others.

A true nightmare from the day I signed up until the day they permanently banned me from the platform, never even completing the registration process after 7 months because they are competely horrible with doing their own jobs and doing what they promised. I advise everyone considering this app to find a different app. Your sanity will thank me and every other person they don't give a crap about, which is every single person on the planet.
The extremely long process is mared by the company's refusal to communicate effectively, provide information and instructions and they refuse to follow up as they indicate they would on every occasion. In no instance did they ever follow up with me in the manner they indicated they will and they never do their jobs to rectify the issue that could have been resolved with a simple data entry fix in 5 minutes. The application is ok. The people doing the jobs are ok. The developers, corporate and customer relations team, social media team are the major problem with this company. I don't recommend using the service to find work. It is too much of a problem and they don't care to try to solve it.

Easy to use! Will definitely be using this in the future! I’ve used three tankers so far and two out of three ain’t bad! One tasker didn’t have the tools needed for concrete walls and I figure that’s a lesson learned on his part. I decided to cancel his return to finish the job and he charged me even though he said he wouldn’t, but I really didn’t mind. The other two taskers were fast, professional and did an excellent job. Looking to book a job for the upcoming week as I type this. Love Task Rabbit!

It's all about the quality of the tasker and their hourly rates unfortunately don't actually indicate quality. I've had a few great people but just had a dud. Waiting to see how they handle it but based on other reviews here doesn't sound like it'll be great. The dud was by far the highest price Tasker I've contracted so far.

This app is HORRIBLE! I gave up using it after putting in three different dates and times and it returning “no one is available at that date and time.” There really should be a feature that tells you the next available date and time.

Hiring a tasker through this app is like gambling. The platform has no quality control at all on what kind of service you would end up getting. I scheduled with a guy named Joel for help of moving. He confirmed and accepted the task BUT DIDNT SHOW UP AND DIDNT RETURN MY MESSAGE ON THE TASK DAY. It caused me great trouble because it was my lease ending day and I had everything scheduled and had to move out by end of the day! I contacted customer service and they just cancelled the task so it didn't cost me money. But it caused so much trouble to my life! Avoid this platform if you need quality service because there are workers who do not treat this as a serious job but a game and you never know what service you'll get.

The service itself is fine. No complaints. But the app is completely unusable right now. I can’t even log into my account to see chats or give the tasker details about the job. I have deleted and reinstalled the app, but it’s the same thing. The app never loads properly. Can’t use the mobile site either for this because I need to give the tasker a photo and those cannot be uploaded on the mobile site.

Didn't save drafts or submissions. No way to follow up with people when they inevitably flake. Doesn't seem to allow reverse auctions anymore. Feels like the company isn't supporting the app anymore. Unfortunately feels like a company that won't be around much longer based on this horrible interface / user experience.

To all of the reviewers leaving 1 to 2 star reviews due to bad performance from a tasker, uncompleted work, and/or overcharging, I urge you to never ever sign a contract of any kind in your life!
TaskRabbit states very clearly to read their terms of service before applying. They even said please. Every tasker must sign an agreement form before ever moving on to the application process. It states very clearly that TaskRabbit does NOT oversee any tasker, their performance, quality of work, or even complaints from users of the service (those that pay for a tasker's service). Taskers are independent contractors and TaskRabbit itself is just the platform to connect users and taskers. That is all.
So for those of you whose scathing reviews have probably cost this company many clients, shame on you. Change your reviews and read the terms of service when it clearly tells you to, don't blame the company for your incompetence.

had one good experience w/handyman. then next guy-landscaper-couldn’t reach me to reschedule—so i waited all day, when hired for another project AGAIN a no-show, he couldn’t reach me—i hired another guy—then he sent message he was coming a different day!! total cluster—no way to contact anyone!!! never using again!!
Solution for a single woman living alone... 5/5
I consider myself pretty independent-- I've lived alone for 13 years and I own my own drill. I build IKEA furniture all by myself and I've always solved my own household problems, from catching a mouse to broken bulbs to managing a flooded bathroom. But there are some things I just cannot do as just one person and that's where TaskRabbit feels like the answer. 75 pound package up a flight of stairs? Mounting one million towel racks, a 96" bookshelf and a mirror that will NOT cooperate? TaskRabbit!

I don’t know how to describe the irritation of robotic automated responses when trying to communicate with customer service. They are very bland and cold.. their response time is completely in reasonable. Not to mention they take 30% from taskers which is why they have to charge so much. Being their communication is bad and do not have a timely time frame on which they reply they should have a phone number where people can call. I’m pretty sure they have the money for that. Dealing with this company has been nothing but a head ache
Why didn't we join TaskRabbit sooner? 5/5
I'm usually not one to post reviews online, but in this case I'll make an exception. I just can't believe how easy it was to use TaskRabbit. I moved into a new office for my small business recently and needed a very large flatscreen TV hung as well as a whole bunch of picture and artwork. I literally created an account on TaskRabbit and booked the handyman for the exact time slot I wanted in 12 minutes total. The guy showed up on time, worked very efficiently, and was a great guy to boot. And the rate was reasonable. It helped a lot that the Tasker I chose had a bunch of reviews and a 4.5 star rating!!

I registered almost a year ago and have continually attempted to contact, but only get irrelevant form letters back. They claim in their FAQ if you don't qualify you'll be refunded your registration fees, but I've never been contacted on whether or not I was nor have I gotten a refund.
Potentially dangerous situations 1/5
I hired someone and once they were in my home, I felt very strong armed into paying a higher rate. What can you do when a stranger is in your home. I would not use again impersonal setting. They advertise safe but doesn’t their terms say they aren’t reliable if something happens (maybe I’m wrong but that’s how I read it)? This was the second time, but I think only one scare is needed to turn me off. I like the idea of people making side money but I will go back to the old fashion way of finding vendors.

Used app for first time. 1st tasker didn’t have qualifications despite clear description. Canceled and rebooked. Forgot password and unable to reset. Email reset leads back to fill in new task. Reply from email often breaks the app and crashes it. I can’t reply to 2 tasker for today without company resetting password. Don’t be so cheerful on your wording if you don’t plan to help within an hour. I’m stuck!!!

1) The app closes chats with Taskers after 24 hours. I wanted to thank my Tasker and respond to her message. There was no way to do it. 2) The ‘trust and support’ fee was not clearly identified prior to hiring the Tasker. TaskRabbit adds a fee, which isn’t a big deal, if you know about it ahead of time. 3) The app doesn’t work internationally. I have businesses in Washington DC and split my time between DC and abroad. So while I can hire someone in a city where Taskrabbit is available, I cannot use the app, even with VPN.
I contacted customer support about all three and was told ‘nothing I can do’.

I’ve been trying to hire a Tasker for the past hour (new account) and I can’t. I’ve tried multiple different cards and all my efforts were for naught. It keeps telling me that there is something wrong with my CC. NO! There is something wrong with your app. By the way please fix that pop up that tells me something is wrong with my card. It’s written twice.

I signed up to work for them 2 months ago and still haven’t got a reply. I went through the website and there’s no contact number to call and get a refund. Instead there’s a automatic response which isn’t helpful at all.
I have no interest in chasing anyone around for help. The one task I needed help with was denied by the tasked they “recommended” and they didn’t recommend anyone else. I’ll use a different app. Maybe they’ll have more than 2 people to pick from.

The absolute worst customer service I’ve ever received, which frankly is impressive in 2017. Customer Support agent Skye was extremely rude and entirely unhelpful. Task Rabbit Stephanie went MIA with no explanation.

While the application itself is not too bad the customer service I received from TaskRabbit was probably the worst. I selected one of their preferred “Taskers” to fix 3 doors and upon reviewing the work ( I was not home at the time) was not completed at all. Nothing was done and I was billed $300 for the work. After calling customer service they assured me it would be taken care of and then I receive an email informing me that my claim was declined due to a window being surpassed. I still have yet to receive a response weeks later from my last reply. I’ll never use the service again and make sure to tell everyone I know of my experience with them.

I paid the $20 fee to become a tasker. I’m headed towards 6 months and have not heard a thing. I’ve written emails and tried to speak to someone numerous times and get told the same thing every time. That there’s no telling how long it will take.

Terrible Taskers, Terrible Customer Service 1/5
I scheduled a simple package delivery which should have taken 2 hours maximum, but turned into a 2 day nightmare, and ended with my package never showing up. Customer support was almost non existent. I thought this would be of similar quality to Uber or Lyft, but it is not. Will never use again.
Easy to use worth the cost 5/5
First time using service. Started with web site then downloaded app. Needed someone to replace existing thermostat and smoke detector with new Nest thermostat and Nest Protect. Took less than 1 hour to do both for the taskrabbit. He had a lot of experience with the thermostat replacement. Would have taken me half the weekend of watching YouTube videos and instruction reading then getting up on ladder... Communication via the app was great. Like that all the financial stuff including tip is via app. No awkward "do you take checks" moment. Overall happy.

After having a lady come clean my apt she put she did two hours of service and only did 1 hour. I asked her about it and she cussed me out and threatened me. Saying she had to travel and she has kids to take care of. Which isn’t on me. i paid for a service and that only. Very nasty. I don’t feel safe in my apt anymore. Considering moving units. She was very ghetto. She even asked to have some of my alcohol I had in my house.
I would not recommend this app. The people are weird. They know where you live. I will never use this app again. Just deleted it.

I love this app and I tell everyone about it! I broke my foot about 6 weeks ago and that's why I decided to use it...I needed help with my yard and garden and I needed to install some Ring Stick Up Cams.
I have hired 3 different workers through Task Rabbit and all experiences have been great! Thanks for coming up with the idea Task Rabbit! I look for things I need done around the house now vs procrastinating because this exists! ☺

It a very decent app, especially if you are a property manager.
Signed up to be a Tasker, sent me pre done emails with links to complete the application that didn’t work... THIS AP DOSENT HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
And to get in contact with some one is extremely hard and takes days!!!!
Then when I finally got in contact with someone after almost a week, they couldn’t tell me what was wrong, just to wait for a second response from someone else. Asked them how that would take and they didn’t know????

Can’t change address of task 2/5
On first use, the app used my current location for the address for the task without ever prompting me. How presumptuous. Then it would not let me edit the task to update the address.
Terribly unreliable. Booked a tasker for a big job. He cancelled at the last minute and all they offered was a $10 credit, instead of trying to help find someone else.
