Native app inferior to mobile web 1/5
The native iOS app is simply a complete downgrade from the mobile web experience. The most glaring flaw is the fact that on the app, there are no images or videos in the articles. This is incredibly frustrating when you read an article with the with the title “watch this _video tour_ of...” and the article neither contains a video or even the courtesy of a direct link to the web client so I can watch the video.
I love the content and the writing, but this app really falls short of expectations and honestly, I can get all the tech crunch articles I want from Google News, and their mobile app renders web versions so I can actually see the videos when I read.
It just feels like the native app is an afterthought and something tech crunch is doing out of perceived obligation rather than a genuine attempt at creating a usable platform. Please fix this TC, I can’t think of any other media app that strips all visual media from its content. When the mobile web client is better than the native app, something is really wrong.
Formatting issues 1/5
Constantly see text cut off, embedded tags showing that shouldn’t, and words jumbled together with no spaces.
load all content by default 1/5
the new design of forcing us to load a story and the load it again with the images and video is just too much. if you are worried about users bandwidth give them the option of loading the stories without pictures and video.
the whole tap to load content was one of the worst features of your redesign...
Not That Good 2/5
I was hoping for better.
Photos don’t load in app 1/5
By Play On 04
Images in articles don’t load in the app! A blog on tech doesn’t have good tech. Yikes.
Rich content never works 1/5
Articles are plain text only - nothing embedded. No images, no video, not even links. Seems like something that would be crazy easy to fix and yet it's been like this for as long as I've had the app.
Featured articles also have their headlines cut off if they're too long.
Missing media 1/5
You browse TechCrunch on this app and cone across title that says something like “Mercedes-Benz unveils the EQC to kick...” you click on it expecting to see the new Benz. Article loads but there is not a single image to be seen, no links to click to see the media, nothing just plain text. Dumb.
Good contents but many of errors 3/5
By Adele jisoo lee
I cannot use searching engine
Terrible Execution 2/5
For an app that reports tech related news, this app fails to do what other simple news apps have been doing for a while. The app never shows any picture in the article aside for the main cover photo. The app fails to load some pages instead giving a totally blank page with nothing to read. If an article has any video it won’t be included here. Most of the time you have to click on content (i.e a picture) that doesn’t load and it’ll direct you to the web version of the article. So essentially it’s a glorified web browser at that point. It’s funny when articles reference to an image that won’t even load on the app. Love to skim through the content here but I don’t get why it’s got to be so hard to get the content.
Love it 5/5
Probably one of the best in the know, easy to read tech websites. I am glad I came across this app.
oath wants all your data 1/5

what a name. be sure to visit privacy dashboard and more and turn everything off. oath is killing the formats that made what they bought. big corp has arrived and has a new “oath”.
App is garbage now 1/5
On phone x articles sometimes will just load a blank white page. To fix this you will have to clear cached content in settings. All the articles that do load won’t load with pictures.
Pages load up half blank. Not very many stories. Using iPhone
Currently unusable 1/5
For a majority of stories, when you open the story you either get a blank page or some portion of the story is cut off and missing. Makes the app unusable. Using iOS 11.3, please fix!
Doesn’t work well 2/5
I have always enjoyed reading the stories here. They are well written and I enjoy finding stories that aren’t on Engadget to stay up-to-date on Technology. But, the app is buggy and the photo content never loads after clicking on a story. I get lucky if the story actually loads and it isn’t just a white screen. I hope I will download the app in a year and it’s improved. But, for now it only works half the time and I’ll just have to find my news elsewhere.
Articles are often blank/can’t load 1/5
Most articles I read have blank missing content or you need to open it in the web browser. Extremely buggy and defeats the purpose of having an app. I’m very surprised Techcrunch doesn’t have a competent engineer to make their static articles load properly. I think you could walk outside to a SF coffeeshop and ask any engineer to help fix this for you. C’mon guys, get it together
Loosing stability 2/5
Over time this App has become less and less stable. Stories are not loading properly. They disappear after a second or two. Definitely breaks the momentum.
Disfunction After Few Days 1/5
The app doesn’t show the complete article after few days of using. It is just an inexcusable glitch.
An app about tech that doesn’t work?? 2/5
It’s extremely ironic that an app that’s supposed to deliver tech news is buggy. Whenever I click an article it shows it for a second and then the article disappears. It’s very frustrating and makes the app essentially useless.

Please update the screen size for the new iPhone
Site is great, app is bugged 2/5
Love the content that’s put out, but there are a lot of things wrong with the app. Videos and articles don’t load half the time and sometimes articles are just randomly cut off in the middle.
Ruined the app 1/5
By nyc cyberguy
I loved the old app and now it is terrible. So buggy. Stories don’t load, hard to find. For a publication about tech and design, surprised it missed the mark so badly....

Bad UI 1/5
No iPhone X support.
Stories are better than Engadget, but with no X support gets no user support.
iPhone X 2/5
App barely works on iPhone X. App view is constrained and articles are cut off in the middle. Pretty much worthless now.
Articles Only Load Half Way 1/5
Even though the new update is a lot cleaner and organized, all articles only load half way when reading through them. The rest of the screen is white. I have an iPhone 7 so not sure if it’s a device thing, but it makes the app pretty useless.
Lacking iPhone X support! 3/5
By Chaitu B
I’m a big fan of TechCrunch news. Ever since I bought iPhone X few months ago, I’m eagerly waiting for its support in this phone. The is app is revised a lot but still it’s not supported iPhone X UI. Please update this app to make it compatible with iPhone X.
Ok, but only loads half a story 2/5
By Harvey 007
Can you please just have it load full stories? I’ll be reluctantly going back to using www. Thanks.
Upgrade to IPhone X form factor 1/5
Upgrade to iPhone X form factor. You are a tech company for god sake.
No love for the iPhone X? 3/5
For a tech focused news media, you sure fall behind in updating your app for the latest devices.
Ironically disappointing 1/5
You’d think an app about tech news would be created by someone who knew how to make technology- not an app that only loads the first half of each article and refuses to play sound with any video.
You’re a tech news company and one of the very few to have not updated your app screen size for the iPhone X. As a tech news company I would expect you to one of the first ones to upgrade your app. Fortunately for me your competition has.
Update cumbersome. 2/5
Far too difficult to scroll/read older stories. I mean, really? How could one of their bonehead millennials get this functionality wrong. Aren’t mil’s the ones responsible for everything in the world in portrait-only formats? Well look children, at least make it work properly.
Long time reader bc the articles are interesting, but the app always has some problem or another that prevents you from reading content. At the moment, for most articles, I can only read a few paragraphs and then the rest of article won't display. This is not a connection issue and I'm using the most up to date version of the app.
“Click here to view this content” 1/5
In many articles that try to import images or tweets from a 3rd party, you get hit with a large area that says “Click here to view this content”. So you click it and it takes you to the exact same article, but on TechCrunch’s site with the images now visible. Lolwut! Some articles have lime 3-4 of these things. Whoever’s idea this was should be fired.
Hate the new app 1/5
By Ethan Anderson
It limits how many stories you can read. It’s also much more difficult to scan headlines for stories of interest. Some stories don’t load any content when you click on them.

Poor upgrade 2/5
By Billie g.
All apps need to upgrade them selves. The trick is keeping what works and jettisoning what doesn’t work and offering important improvements. The new upgrade is confusing and contains loading problems. I usually usually enjoy upgrades but the recent TechCrunch is just awful.
Saved Articles Gone in new version 1/5
By Candy crush old timer
Well i love the graphics of the new post iOS11 version. But someone should ‘ve warned that all the saved articles will simply disappear!!!!
What did you do? 1/5
You took the 2.x app and stripped away the usable presentation... now you have stark one-line titles and no body text. Love the amazing whitespace throughout the page. And the cute article images are smaller and at the far right.
Oh and you took away offline mode?
Good news, crashing tho 4/5
Crashes every time today. A great source of news otherwise!
New version freezes occasionally when tapping a story from the main feed
Latest update crashing 1/5
On iPhone 6 running iOS 10.3.2. Can't open any article
Why is there a speech bubble with a "0" on every article thumbnail? Whatever you thought that was going to be, it's time to stop. It's awkward. It's just endless zero. Remove it please.
Too much politics 1/5
By Evan Keal
Whenever TechCrunch publishes any political related content they expose the fact that their real target audience are mostly white liberal males living out of their parents basement.
We come here for tech insights...not for a failed leftist political agenda.
Good spread of content 4/5
