Articles don’t show up 2/5
By Andy Molokai
You have the option to copy the url of the article so you don’t have to copy and paste the entire article. But that feature doesn’t always work. It rarely asks me to add the article after copying the website url. The app needs work
I like a really useful a app.
Works well, but the pricing. 4/5
This app does everything described and provides a better UI experience in the settings than the nearest competitor (speech central) but that’s about the only thing that isn’t substantively the same between the two. I’d rather pay a higher onetime cost than add yet another subscription to the host of services where subscription is the only option and no alternative service exists.
So in short: it’s a 5 star app for functionality but a higher onetime price is better than an ongoing subscription.
Very useful during my hr commute !
Awesome study tool, so far so great!
Too Frustrating 1/5
This app crashes more frequently than it runs, a problem which has persisted through a number of versions, apparently in spite of the developers’ efforts to fix the issue.
Today it got terminally hung up, requiring me to delete the app and lose all of the pages that I had queued up.
Regrettably, I cannot recommend that others purchase this app.
Love it!!! 5/5

Love it. Great app for listening to articles that I don't have time to read. Allows an easy way to listen while you get other tasks.

Best app ever!! Reads anything out loud with wonderful clarity.
Give yourself a week 5/5
This app is great if you want to get whole articles read and you don’t want to stare at a screen all the time. It takes a while to get used to the voice, but once you do, it’s a really nice program. My favorite voice was a British female voice, but it disappeared with the latest iPhone update. I listen at time and a half, and that feels just about right.

I really want to like this app. Often when scrolling through my newsfeed I would like to hear the article. I downloaded and got started without incident, but honestly, could not get through the first article due to the voice. I worked on the setting voice a few more times with what I thought was success, but was unable to find a voice that worked for me. I think it’s not even the voice that is my problem as much as the total lack of recognition and use of breaks and pauses of punctuation while it reads. I can’t seem to comprehend what I’m hearing like I do while reading it myself or listening to a real voice. I made it a few minutes into the article before I simply deleted the app. I would give the app five stars for everything but sadly the reading voice is what suffered me the most.
I’m reading more 5/5
Great and well thought out app. Worth every penny!
Good but not great 3/5
I would pay but the app crashes often and shuts down.
Amazing app 5/5

Keep doing your hard work! 5/5
Really good app overall...there is a lot of things you can make better, and I see you make updates often based on the feedback from people. I will write something to request when I found once .
Pretty good 5/5
Glad to see that I can listen to an article without reading it on the app now. You guys are amazing and I really love this concept
<3 !!! 5/5
The best text to speech reader that I have used so far. It would be great more if they have an add-on able works with Chrome or Safari
Useful for me 5/5
I swear everyone who is lazy to read an article from the beginning to the end really needs this app. Free trial but 2$ for monthly subscription is a reasonable price
I highly recommend it 5/5
Unlike other similar apps. I found this app is more intriguing and it works more effective than. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a text to speech reader
I like it 5/5
I really like the way whole app works . I have never used an application (I don't know about it) like Motoread before. It's so amazing and useful
Ease of use 5/5
Well designed , user friendly. Every single feature works quite smooth . The app is so easy to use to transform an article to an audio file . That's great!
Great App 5/5
Love this app huge productivity boost
5-Star Customer Service 5/5
By Heart Juice
Although I was not able to use the app for the initial purposes I wanted, I have to say that customer service truly went above and beyond to make sure I was supported. I have edited my review accordingly to emphasize their efforts to make sure I was happy.
World class support 5/5
These devs are working hard to make this product world class. I had issues and it was not working so I emailed them and they worked tirelessly to resolve it.
People need to understand how much time and effort goes into creating these apps so hang in there if they don’t respond. They did for me right away but I feel like we shouldn’t always expect such quick turnarounds with everything in life. Nonetheless, they succeeded tremendously and I can’t thank the team enough for their service and the value this app provides. Cheers!
Speed reading in the traffic! 5/5
As a Bay Area commuter I use Motoread to listen to articles and catch up on news in both german and English while stuck on the freeway. The new voices are great in speed listening mode and definitely outperform my own ability to speed read.
Big time saver 5/5
By Bushel of bridges
With kids at home it’s hard to find uninterrupted time to read articles or watch YouTube lectures. Now I just load them up to Motoread and listen to them while I’m driving to work. Since the app allows me to increase the read-back tempo I’m able to stay up to date while using utilizing the otherwise idle time I would waste sitting in traffic.
This app changed the way I consume news 5/5
Must have app. Changed the way I consume news. Can’t go back to reading articles.
Great way to listen to articles 5/5

I really like this app, it’s convenient when you’re busy with work but you still want to stay up to date with. Also great tool to drown out chatty coworkers.
Super Useful App 5/5
This is a revisionary life changing app. I am mostly impatient and hardly get around to listen/watch an interesting program on my devices but with this App I happily found an awesome way to get to see many of them. Fantastic!
Awesome App 5/5
Fantastic way to get a lot of reading done by listening. I’m able to read 5 times the volume. Very revolutionary. Keep up the good work.
A must for commuters 5/5
If you commute a lot like me and you’re looking to make good use of your time, download this app. Super easy to add content that you’d normally read and makes it easy to consume on the go. Thumbs up for me!
Motoread saves my commute! 5/5
I have to commute for over an hour a day so I'm always looking for new sources of hands-free entertainment. Podcasts are great, but I also read a lot of articles for work, so Motoread helps me get a jump start on those during my commute. I also like listening to various blogs and news articles with it. Very handy and love the new update where I can change the voice!
Great App 5/5
Great being able to consume news by listening to articles.
Great App... until I found out the the premium version was required. 1/5
Honestly. This was a great app.
But it doesn’t tell you when you begin that what you are actually using is a free trial. So just when I began to love it, I hit a wall that they *hid from*.
That is manipulative, and I will not f*?!#ing stand for it.
I don’t even have a problem with paying. if the articles renewed in regular intervals (which they don’t) *and* it was made *very* clear how many articles I had left, I probably would have *wanted* to support the App.
As of now I feel manipulated and will be taking my money elsewhere.
App crashes...fixed! 5/5
App crashes after pocket linking. App now inoperable even after reinstall. Recommendations?
I was contacted by the developer. Issues resolved. Great app and support.
I love this app 5/5
I love this app!!! It has saved me so much time listening instead of reading.
Promising Concept (please change narration) 5/5
This app fills a theoretical void for me and I believe it will someday be very useful. It is a promising concept but I feel it will require some updates before it sees real growth in users. The app and site are clearly very new. When I tried to make an account, I couldn't do it in safari on my Macbook, because when I filled out the information and clicked "sign up" the page simply reloaded. I could, however, make an account through the app. After I signed in on my Mac and downloaded the safari extension (which is an incredibly convenient feature and is necessary to make this app a really seamless part of our reading ecosystem) I was able to add articles to my list, however articles from the New Yorker appear at least at first instance to not add to my reading list via the extension.
For the app itself, the UI is sensible and easy to navigate, but aesthetically, I would prefer to see a simpler and less busy use of colors. Especially when it comes to news apps, I believe that a clear screen is clear thinking. White background, keep it simple. The closer to the Apple Podcasts app this thing can look, the better, in my opinion.
The biggest thing preventing this app from being a core part of my article and news consumption is the narration. It is far too robotic and emotionless, and the pacing and inflections make it difficult to follow complex sentences because it is not clear at all where punctuation and clauses are. I have definitely heard far more natural and understandable text to speech, so Motoread would do well to examine other options. If these complaints were addressed, I would find the app so useful and time-saving that I would find it hard not to opt for the paid subscription. Thank you to the developer for recognizing the demand for a product like this, I hope you continue to refine it.
Excited for this app!!
Really good 5/5
Easy to use. No bugs so far. Really good.
