I Love Texture !!!!!!! 5/5
I had thought for so long that it was important to me to hold a magazine , be able to rip pages out that gave me good ideas.
A couple of years ago I came across Texture and thought it sounded like such a great deal, but I didn’t know about not being able to have that book in my hand. Well immediately, I found I didn’t miss the books at all! What a deal to scroll through all the issues, even old issues are available and I also read from magazines that before I would have never purchased. What I spend for Texture a month is less than the cost of one of my decorating magazines. I Love Texture!!!!!!
It’s nice. I like. 5/5
I like magazines. I don’t like killing trees. Win win.
Suddenly locked out 2/5
I am a longtime paying subscriber who suddenly got locked out by the latest update. I am being forced to login but don’t have credentials, since I pay through iTunes. There is no way to ‘Restore Subscription’ through iTunes like in other apps. So, I have paid for the service but can’t use it.
When it did work, it was fine, except when reading single articles - it doesn’t download them for offline use. Instead, you have to download the entire magazine from whence they came if you wish to read on trains, planes and automobiles. Very irritating.
I love my Texture! Several years ago I was spending $25 per week on magazines.
Works well 4/5
Feature rich app with no trees harmed.
Latest Update Awful 2/5
This latest update has bogged down the app. Takes forever to open, if it opens at all. Considering canceling subscription if they don't fix it.
Update 6/9/2018: latest update crashes the app when you try to enlarge the page. Ridiculous. Stop messing with the app.
Love texture. 5/5
Great access to reading material. Almost every magazine I’d want to read is included. Great feature to browse articles from magazines not on your favorites list. I’ve always read magazines in addition to books. Here there’s a selection to all kinds of magazines—news, decorating, housekeeping, business, consumer advice, fashion, entertainment. Gossip magazines that I used to not want to buy because I didn’t want to be seen buying them but I was curious. It’s cheaper than lots of television subscriptions and provides more entertainment and mental stimulation.
I like the concept but not the execution 1/5
If I’m reading a long form article and pause, when I return to read further I need to find the mag issue all over again. If I’m in the middle of something I want it to hold my place until I’m finished.
One of the best things in my life! 5/5
Not only do you have access to all the latest issues, you have access to back issues also.
I have had this subscription for years! As long as it stays great like this , I will never give it up!
I got the app and free trial I didn't like it so I deleted it and cancelled my free trial.but yesterday it charged me 14.99 for the app subscription.
So bad, one should be paid to read the articles not the other way around 1/5
Puff pieces along with a lot of propaganda, pushing a certain agenda. I don't think the media should be unbiased; it's fine everyone have their own agenda but to cherry pick and sell it is a bit much...
I think subscribers should be paid to enduring the worst picks possible from already declining magazines.
Real good 5/5
By imagination view
I enjoyed it very much for not only reading my favorite magazines, but the ones I don’t usually buy. There are a lot magazines to select each day, but if you don’t like it,then, go next one without paying extra. It is real good!
Best bang for your buck 5/5
Having all my favorite mags in one place without the hassle of multiple subscriptions to deal with. My favorite feature is the ability to save articles. This app is an absolute must for your library.
This app doesn’t work 1/5
When you are downloading a magazine, it gets stuck on download and even if you delete the app and download it again, it still has problems. This app is a good idea and has great magazine choices but it does not work.
Great for organizing my reading. 5/5
As an "old school" print subscriber, this app gives me the best of both worlds that I can read the print articles while accessing and organizing using online tools like collections.
By Dividend Dancer
Totally Amazing. I got my money’s worth in the first hour. Love it.
Downloaded issues disappear 2/5
Love the app but my downloaded issues disappear. Think it may happen when iOS gets updated. Very annoying as I find out when I want to read offline away from WiFi.
Doesn’t always work great on cellphone 3/5
I want to love this app. However, it seems that only certain magazines are formatted in a convenient and easy to read style for cell phones. This would be a no-brained if that could be fixed.
Love this app 5/5
I love Texture! I get my favorite magazines at a fraction of subscription costs. I recommend this app to anyone who reads magazines!!
Best All Around Magazine Subscription 5/5
Access to all these different magazines and previous editions is a great deal! No throwing out heavy piles of magazines when more space is needed to make room for more. To read them on the iPad pro is nicer than looking at the real issue itself. Can’t say enough on how awesome this app is.
Stopped working completely. 1/5
My texture app of which I have been a member for at least a year seems to have stopped working. I sent an e-mail to their customer support, was issued a support case # and nothing else.
When I open the app it asks me to sign up for a free trial membership as though I have never been a member. Even my already downloaded issues will not Open. They guarantee that if you choose to no longer be a member all previous downloaded issues are still there to keep. I have nothing. And they are doing nothing.
They have my money. I cant do anything about it.
This app is continuing to get more and more frustrating. They use scrolling up and down form on many magazines. When doing this the app constantly shuts down causing you to start over. Because of this form it is impossible to read many of their magazines. Frustrating all together. May just go back to buying magazines. Maybe thats their whole game.
Left slant 4/5
By never new yorker
Articles too liberal for my tastes !!!!!
Like walking around with a magazine rack in your pocket!
Famous Magazines 5/5
Just began my 7 day trial and can already say I will be keeping this.
I just spent a couple of hours reading a magazine I used to occasionally buy.
I appreciate the fact I can peruse so many magazines. I also appreciate that I can read so many and not have the mess of a print subscription piling up in the house.
Never fear! You can save a page or an article you particularly like.
A good deal for the price.
Never have to have a thousand magazines all over the place!!!!
Save a tree, get TEXTURES
A lot of magazines, not so easy to read 3/5
You get a lot of content for the money. But what you get are scanned magazine pages. Canceled after one month.
By K Jimenez
My husband and I have belonged to texture for several years and have always loved it. That is until this last month. We can’t access any of the magazines, have updated our payment acct, have emailed texture, with no response and yet they took our payment out today. So they take money but can’t access
Good Until Apple Bought 3/5
What a shame this was a good app until Apple bought it.
Not clear how to cancel my subscription 1/5
Not for me, the magazine selection wasn’t worth the price. Cancelling the subscription is way too hard to figure out. Had to email support. Think twice before trusting this company with your credit card details.
Great app with one improvement needed 4/5
So far it is working great. I love having all of this content at my fingertips and being able to read the content off line, after downloading it. I love being able to store articles, recipes, etc, and being able to organize them into categories.
The feature I would love to have added is the ability to highlight parts of the content as I read it and then be able to save/search highlighted items at a later time. That would push this app up to a five for me.
Most of the magazines are great, but some of them have real problems. The Food Network magazine, used to be my favorite, has so many glitches I can't look at it. With some of them, when you scroll down the page, it completely backs out of the whole app.
I cannot believe I just found out about this! 5/5
So many tittles! Everything I need. Texture is a savings cut like no other.
Love the many magazine choices, if I’ve had a stressful day I just open a magazine with a cup of Tea and relax. You don’t have a stack of expensive magazine hanging around, then you bundle them and throw them in the trash because you have accumulated too many.😠 I highly recommend Texture. 😀
The best way to have a coffee. 5/5
I no longer have to carry or store magazines, as I can have them all on my tablet. Oh my favorite titles in one place. Simply wonderful.
Love Texture! 5/5
It might seem pricey to others- but I value Texture for a number of reasons!!! I love that I can travel with my magazines and not leave them on a plane, really love that I’m not killing extra trees for a magazine. So I consider some of what I’m paying is in support of not wasting raw materials! It’s also amazing to look over a magazine that I might not buy or have exposure to any other way. And mostly, I love searching on a topic and being able to read multiple articles in a very short time! Texture is Amazing!
Buggy Offline 3/5
I was excited to load up the app with mags for a long international trip. Sadly, when offline, the cover previews wouldn’t show and a number of the magazines wouldn’t render right (80% of pages were all white). Love the concept...
Excellent App 5/5
The only problem is I forget to use it and I have not received my airline rewards and there is no phone number to call for assistance.
I hope the royalty they pay is enough to keep the publishers in business.
Great access to many interesting magazines!
Taking a “Senior”Current Events Class 5/5
By Bruce SPas
I am retired and taking a current events class through the Osher program at UCLA Extension. Getting access to current articles from leading magazines is difficult and expensive.
Texture solves my problem. Both the topics we are covering in my upcoming class are represented by articles from several of the magazines.
I have this all on my iPad Pro. I have enough space for many many magazines.
Texture is a great price, has a good variety of magazines and gives it to me on my iPad which is always with me.
Happy Camper here.
Love it! 5/5
Works great on my iPad mini. Cheaper than me buying all those magazines. It also saves time and space being able to down load them, then deleting them when I'm done.
This app is amazing 5/5
I just downloaded this app yesterday and so far I love it. I’m just upset I didn’t know about it sooner. I was paying a $20 annual fee for 5 different mags that read on my iPad. Now I have 100s of mags for one low price!
Wow! Why did not I discover this app before? 5/5
The apple music of magazines. Great app
Great service, meh reading experience 4/5
Most magazine are basically just high quality scans. Some have little bits of functionality. But this could be so much more
Buggy crash fest 3/5
Works fine in online mode. When offline such as on an airplane Textire crashes constantly. Almost unusable. Actually crashed the whole phone (iPhone X )several times.
Best magazine app 5/5
As an avid magazine reader, this has become one of my favorite and most-used apps. Great selection of mags, excellent UI. I also love being able to auto download my favorites on my WiFi only iPad.
Text to Speech 4/5
I love the app for myself. It works smoothly and I love not having to carry another thing around. Still, I’d love it if my dyslexic kid could also enjoy the app, but because there is no way to integrate text to speech, she can only look at the pictures. I’ve tried the “text mode” which only seems to work on the iPhone. But even then, it doesn’t appear to be a true text mode. Even if I were able to upload the text to another text to speech app. But there is no way to do that. It only uploads as PDFs. Anyway, if there is any way for the app to provide true text for the Dyslexic, Blind, or otherwise struggling reader, then I would give this app an unqualified 5 stars.
Infinite loop fail 1/5
I can’t get past the subscribe page even though iTunes confirms I already have a subscription. Password reset is non-existent because they require you to email them, what is this? The website is even worse experience for on-boarding new customers. Terrible, really.
One of my favorite Apps 5/5
I love having all the magazines I love at my finger tips without having to toss out stacks of them each month. If you’re waiting at the dentist office or getting your car service you’re not stuck reading whatever boring magazines they have in the waiting room.
App keeps crashing 3/5
By Stiv kV
We use this app on two iPads in our house - I love the app but it crashes everytime we use it now. Very frustrating. Some magazines won't open, our the app will just shut down. I hope with Apple purchasing the company there will be improvement
Very unhappy 🙁 I was unable to keep past issues I had downloaded on the free trial.
I understand paying for new ones however some are 3 years past. Most of the magazines are 100 percent free online. I also wasn’t very happy with the selections offered..I joined for woman’s world and first because I am unable to find a free subscription to the two..After the free trial I was locked out of downloads on past issues.
