An Ancient Mariner 5/5
By Marine City High School 1949
I thank you for your allowing me to receive the NEWS digitally: A former Detroit area newspaper boy and High School whiz (Marine City) during the 40's and 50's) and former School Superintendent (East Detroit) during the 70's ( before the problems!).Always enjoyed the NEWS more than the FREE PRESS! How about that?

My morning pleasure! 5/5
By Osprey Lover
The Detroit News app makes my day. Its format is completely convenient and content is complete. I can't believe this is offered for free. I am concerned that with the cutbacks recently announced by The News, that this service may be reduced or eliminated. This is the first thing I go to every morning. Please keep it up!

Needs a lot of work 2/5

When you click feedback it just states “Thank you”.
No ability to leave dialog.
Going to settings just opens an email. Nice feature ten years ago.
Sports Section Bias 1/5
I’ve been a long time Detroit News reader. I’m a MSU fan, with two degrees from Michigan State. I find that Detroit News sports coverage has many more articles about U of M than MSU. I would guess the odds are at least 10-1. Let’s get more MSU coverage!
Pop up ads 1/5
Your latest version’s pop-up video ads has frustrated me into deleting the app.
Great read. Love the news 5/5

Would appreciate more balanced attempt regarding conservative philosophy. Try doing the right thing by presenting the great things that are happening all around the country during this era of unprecedented national recovery.

Greatest destination for local news 5/5
Weather it’s sports, entertainment, politics or breaking news, The Detroit News never fails to keep me informed on happenings at the local and national level.
Good news app 4/5
I use this app everyday. I enjoy reading the local news but you need to re-evaluate what is worthy of an alert.
This is a great up-to-date news source 5/5
The Detroit news provide me with up-to-date news all day long. I rely on it to know what’s going on.
Glennie V 5/5
Detnews gives me all the news, sports and breaking info quick and straight. very credible news source for many decades.
Great News 5/5
Gives me a quick look at what's happening. Great news app!
Ad free doesn’t work 3/5
Love the app - love the news. But when you subscribe to the ad free version, ads are still displayed.
What’s the scoop?
USAToday lite 1/5
What a waste. Not even any market reports in business section. The whole thing is organized like a child’s collage. Just more trash like USAToday.
I read Detroit News for years
Crap liberal newspaper 1/5
Every article about president trump is negative and slanted.
Crap paper also Detroit Free Press is just as bad.
Sick of it.
Pure journalism 5/5
So much effort goes into this incredible paper.
My e edition app keeps disappearing 1/5

Top stories 2/5
Why mostly sports news as top stories? Can we have a balance of local, national and other news, please?
This app keeps me informed about the great things going on in my hometown of Detroit...😊

Subscription & Ads 2/5
By Curly Q Linque
I really like the app but paying the subscription price didn’t remove the ads. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app to no avail. It’s a frustrating situation.
Up to date information for Metro Detroit!! 5/5
Awesome, thanks folks for all the great information
Love it 5/5
Favorite news source for my favorite city
The Detroit News Review 4/5
By JDH '87
It’s a really good app...... I would like to be able to open the pictures that are next to the titled stories, though.
Detroit News 5/5
The best digital paper in the D
Can't read story 1/5
The app opens and I can navigate selecting different sections however I can't open specific stories to read them. No matter the window. This is only true of this app, everything else functions normally.
By BK Lion's
Is there anyone on staff there that could find a Lion’s buyer? A new owner that would do what it takes to make the team competitive. The Lion’s have not been anything to praise since the Bobby Layne days. Not sure why the Detroit fans have remained so loyal? Pathetically disappointing. BIll
Update upsets! 2/5
Since the latest update I can't open nearly half of the news articles for both the Det News and the Free Press on my IPad.
The update needs an update!
Ad Free??? 1/5
I purchased the ad free subscription ($2.99 per month) because l am sick of the chaos the ads create with the interface. What do you think happened after the purchase? Correct! There were ads all over the place! I cancelled immediately. All I can say POOR. Beware.
I have always depended on the Detroit news for honest and informative reporting
I have lived abroad for years and depend on the Detroit news to keep me tuned in to what is happening in my home town and with all my favorite sports teams.
Great App but need to improve picture viewing 4/5
By sp lions fan
I have used the detnews app for at least 8 years. It’s great for keeping up with my home town. Especially my sports teams. I live in Chicago now.
Only suggestion I have: please let me expand the view of the photographs that show up with the title of the article. Or add them again in the article itself. It’s disappointing sometimes when I can’t inspect those photos more closely. I use an IPhone. Perhaps that makes a difference.
Please use an editor. So many errors. Even messed up a list of 11 michigan billionaires.
Like the news, dislike the new super obnoxious ads 2/5
The new video ads that pop open 3 or more times while reading one article are ridiculous. I’m fine with ads, I get wanting to push subscriptions, but interrupting reading a single article with the same full screen ad multiple times is just obnoxious.
Great App. Biased content 1/5
By Duped 2
Really tired of the biased slant on nearly all stories. This deviates from the News/Free Press code of journalistic ethics and integrity. Just tell the news like it is. If I need an opinion, I will turn to the editorial section. As such, I will get my news elsewhere.
The app is ok, but should stop the race baiting articles.
Worst. Paper. Ever. 1/5
How is this shell of a paper not bankrupt yet?!?
So much better 5/5
By Bull mom
To echo some other reviews the News is so much more balanced than the Free Press which I found almost impossible to read- the journalists (if you can call them that) were just about their own personal feelings devoid of any facts - figures since they are a branch of USA TODAY - the News gives a good perspective and analysis. Enjoying the read so far.
Good News 5/5
By D. Rushlow
I am originally from Wayne. I am retired military living in Ohio. The only way I keep up with sports and news in the Detroit area is with the Detroit News online!!! Thank you Detroit News for making this available!!!
Detroit newspapers 5/5
By A. Winklepleck
Both the News and Freep are outstanding reads. I’ve lived my life in metro Detroit and have read these two papers since I learned to do so.
