Don’t waste your time! 1/5
With all of the many options of places to sell used clothing, ThreadUp should be your last. I was told how great they were and saved all of my higher priced items to send in, while keeping my lower end items to sell on my own elsewhere. I made a total of $5 on over $150 worth of clothing. Not okay, not worth it! On other apps (that I need to take my own pictures on) I was getting over $5 an item... WAY more than $5 an item. Apparently they recently changed their payout system and so now they screw over all their customers. And don’t bother looking for customer service, because they only offer automated and it’s difficult to get an actual human to interact with.
Code didn’t work 1/5
Hi I purchase 5 dresses and at the end used the code Gogo and it didn’t work. After spending an hour picking dresses just paid the full price without the code.
Not a decent way to do business in my opinion.
Overall App Interaction 3/5
By M&B 4 3V3R
The app has a lot of really good items but the user interface is not appealing. The format makes it so that you really have to search through to find good things and you kind of have to know what you want and know how to search for it. If there were suggestions or something like on Poshmark where they suggest items to you, the navigation would be so much better.
No deals 1/5
This is not a way to save money on clothing. More often than not, items are listed for prices ABOVE what they originally cost at retail. I’ve seen at least 10 items on here that I’ve bought in stores myself at full price listed for more than I paid. They used to send out coupon codes, but now they’re only good for specific (and usually out-of-season) items. They send buttons instead of have sales. It’s gotten to be too expensive to shop on this app, and they don’t make it worth my while anymore.
LOVE ThreadUP! 5/5
I don’t write reviews. Period. I love ThreadUP. I’m selling clothes that I don’t wear anymore and shopping for new (used). I’ve gotten great things for amazing prices. It’s my favorite place to shop because inventory changes daily. It’s the best!
Used is awesome!! 5/5
I bought my 8yo daughter a whole summer wardrobe. Everything I bought was in pristine condition. The app is easy to use and quick response.
Best Online shopping app 5/5
Thred Up has changed my life! The styles I find are so fun and I love scrolling through to see what I can find. I’m able to find codes online and save a ton of money on nice brands. Shipping takes a little long, but it’s 100% worth the wait. I hardly ever shop for clothes on the stores anymore
Always satisfied! 5/5
Fan for life! Wonderful customer service. Always quality clothing! And the Goody boxes are so freaking awesome! Well done ThredUP!
Don’t sell you stuff here, use other selling apps 1/5
I’ll make this short : they will make $238 from the 13 like-new items I sent in. I was paid 13.49 up front and getting it transfered to my account was a long and painstaking process.
I would have made this amount by selling just ONE of these items on Mercari, Poshmark or Depop. Unfortunately I learned this after I had already sent Thredup my cleanout bag. Buy stuff here by all means, but don’t sell, the payout is ridiculously low.
Love it 5/5
I love the app, it is super easy to use !!! I love all the promotions to help save a little extra !! As a mother of two girls that grow so fast this is the perfect site for me . I’ve purchased and everything has been perfect. I just sent out my first clean out bag so I will have to wait and see how that goes . So far so good !!
Pricing errors, items deleted, poor customer service - thredup used to be good but not anymore! 1/5
App and company has gone downhill - multiple technical glitches over the past few weeks that have wasted a lot of time and 9/10 customer service is very poor with empty apologies and no resolution.
For the past two weeks the app displayed incorrect pricing on a large majority of items and then price in cart of items would be higher than shown when shopping. This was apparently a known issue, but items were left available on the site for people to waste their time shopping thinking that the price would be lower (20-40% lower) than the price that would show up once the item was placed in your cart. The incorrect pricing was not being honored even after the issue persisting for over a week and affecting most of the items I tried to purchase.
After nearly two weeks of pricing issues finally being fixed yesterday, a new issue today was the last straw. A marketing email went out this evening encouraging customers to mark items as favorites to prepare for a big sale coming up tomorrow, but I go log into the app and all of my favorites have suddenly disappeared. I had 50+ items I spent time marking as favorites over the last 6 months. Now to add insult to injury, there is apparently another technical glitch that has just erased all the favorites that many long time customers spent time searching for and saving. Feels like a slap in the face after spending two years shopping often at thredup and spending a significant amount of $, but once again no resolution and no help from customer service at all to make up for this issue. I will no longer be recommending thredup or spending any more money with this company.
I regret that I’m still stuck with thredup credit that they will not refund. After all these technical issues, I wish I had just paid for return shipping to have the $ refunded to my credit card rather than thredup because after all these issues, customer service still would not give me the option to pay the return shipping fee and refund my credit. Thredup used to be good, but seems like as it has grown the company has stopped caring about customers entirely.
One last note - I’ve also received multiple items this year that were noticeably more used than what was listed on the website, such as items listed as like new with stains and holes. I would have overlooked this if not for the technical issues, but it’s all added up to wasting a lot of time and is not worth it. Save yourself the headache and time wasted dealing with customer service and spend your $ somewhere else.

Easy to use, stellar selection, easy to sell, easy to return, I LOVE THREDUP SO MUCH. Get on this.
It is not user friendly and the payout is terrible!!!! Never again will I sell my clothes! I rather give it away to someone that needs it!
God Sent! 5/5
By Gina L. Moore
This website has been “God sent”! I need to change my whole wardrobe as my dress sizes changed and I couldn’t afford it until finding this site. I’ve already told 5 people as well as made two orders within days! The actual site is so easy to use and I love that they save your sizes! I also loved the welcome letter from the founder. Please make sure he sees this review! Thank you!
The Only Way I’ll Shop 5/5
ThredUP has completely transformed my wardrobe. It allows me to purchase high-end designer clothing at a small fraction of the retail price. I receive so many compliments on my clothes and people are always shocked to hear they are used.
The shopping process is so easy. I love that my options are automatically narrowed down to my sizes not to mention I can continue to filter from there to find what I’m looking for. Nearly everything I’ve purchased has fit perfectly and is exactly as described. When an item hasn’t worked out the return process has been so simple.
I’ve become an unofficial thredUP spokesperson because I truly believe there isn’t a better way to shop. They have altered the way women can buy and have access to incredible clothing at game-changing prices.
Poor experience 1/5
I’m very disappointed with the amount offered for my items. In the description that was given in each listing is excellent condition and could be mistaken for brand new. Yet the item was priced super low. One NWT Show me Your MuMu jacket that retails for nearly $200 i was offered $2 and it was priced at $19.99. I tried to change the price but the app wouldn’t let me like it is supposed to. Definitely won’t be using this service again.
First Order 5/5
I received everything ordered very quickly! All items for professionally & attractively packed. Each item is exactly as represented. I am thrilled with my new clothes.
So sorry I sent 3 clean out bags to them. It took a couple months before I received my clean out bags and I called three times before I finally received them. The customer support and communication is lacking and I have never had my issues resolved in spite of all the time I’ve wasted trying to contact them. Even though I received a couple emails saying they received my clean out bags, they say they have no items connected to my email and they do not have my email on record. I am beyond frustrated.
Love it 4/5
Love this concept! Order arrived timely, and clothing is in terrific condition. Would like to see more granular search options... but feel like they’re getting there. Really terrific service. Keep it up!
Quite reasonable 4/5
By Bren PBG, FL
This is the second order I have placed. I was only disappointed that there was a huge snag and a lot of discoloration on a shirt I received. I understand this can happen with used clothing. However, it should have been mentioned before I purchased it, and there should have been some place to answer if I was satisfied with the order. None of those happened, so I was hesitant to shop again. Hopefully this will be a better experience.
Great, but 4/5
Wish I could add more than 25 items to cart. Would have purchased more today.
Always have gotten my items as described. Happy with all my purchases so far.
Not worth it 1/5
I sent in some expensive name brand shoes that I had maybe worn two times and somehow they disappeared and we're not mentioned in the resale of my items. I sent Vince C, free people, etc. I basically might as well thrown lots of money in the garbage.
I will donate next time 1/5
Took months before they were listed. Items were practically given away. New $200 retail blouse sold for $19 and I received less than $5.
It is very easy to send but I will donate and get a much larger tax right off next time.
Overall good 4/5
The only main cons I see are that when you do the goody box you can only select from your local warehouse. And the other is that bags and jewelry are final purchases. I once bought a purse that said it was in as new condition but when it arrived the strap was peeling badly so I had to buy one that matched as much as possible to the purse. Unfortunately I couldn’t return it.
Not user friendly 3/5
Searching is challenging.
Customer service 5/5
By loyal thredup fan
ThredUP is far superior to Poshmark in both price and customer service. I will never use that horrid site again. Thanks thredUP for restoring my faith in true customer service!!
I keep coming back 4/5
Love the variety and the ease of returns (which have been few). I find really unusual things but can always count on finding my basics if I need them. Plus I’m doing a small part for the environment. You can really filter your search well too. Only thing I don’t like is the shipping. It seems to take forever.
Love this app! 5/5
I like the idea that the items have already been assessed for quality!
I recently switched careers and needed to build a office wardrobe quickly. ThredUP has helped me finds some basics quickly.
They are also really good about returns!
First Purchase a Royal Hit! 5/5
By Missy G in SA
I just made my very first purchase and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I foresee lots more in my future!
What I bought was not what I received 1/5
I had heard great things about thread up and so I decided to try it. I was looking for a work bag, something that would hold my laptop and other necessities for the day. I was searching under tots and found a cute coach satchel. I was a excited until it arrived and it was a mini hand bag/purse. There isn’t any way for me to return it or review/rate the seller. I won’t be back. I’m extremely disappointed.
I love thred up 4/5
By baby- go
I have been shopping on thred up for a few years now I really love it I like unique clothes and I always find something just perfect for my style. I only wish they offered some rewards or something I love to shop and I do often It would be nice to get some discount or something back other than that it my fave! Awesome shopping!
Lost my return and lost my sell out bag 1/5
Above and there is no way to reach a live agent to speak with. All I get is automated replies. My sell out bag had some nice things in there- Cole Haan hobo, miss me and grace jeans. They lost it and just decided to compensate me with 35$. Not happy.
We need a Men’s section!!! 5/5
By katie craddock
I absolutely love this app and I’ve never had a bad experience in my orders! The only thing missing is a men’s section. I always recommend this to my friends, but unfortunately some of my friends are guys and they get frustrated when I talk about there great deals I get!
Couldn’t be happier with my first order from thredUP! I ordered 11 items for $23 (yep, those deals are in there, just gotta look 😛). I placed the order May 16 and it arrived today the 21st, one day earlier than projected! Only two items did not fit and that’s because the brand ran a little small and I was unaware. Even subtracting those two items, I got each item for 2.50, which is crazy! Adorable polka dot box, items in the exact condition they said they would be. So excited to order more from my new favorite online store!
What a SCAM 1/5
Not very many of my items got accepted. I filled a bag and they chose 4 items. And to be honest they’re selling them WAY MORE than what they’re worth (let’s be honest). I didn’t even pay that much for the items and they were new. I never got an email saying my items got accepted. 5% and 10% payouts?? TRASH. I will NEVER buy/sell from this site again. Lesson learned
Look elsewhere 2/5
By Look Elsewhere!!
Once I started paying attention to exactly how much money they were giving me for my items, I realized, I would much better off going with my local charity. My newest experience is that I saw an item that I considered purchasing. The “final sale” price was $20.79 and the price that it was probably was $25.99. When you click on it, you could see the sale price. However, when I added it to my cart, it went back to the original price. Small price difference, yes, but I inquired anyway. They said my app had not updated correctly and the price was $25.99. I thought it was odd that because my app didn’t update correctly, the price that was very clearly marked $20.79 was my apps mistake.
Can't think of anything good to say! 1/5
I have seen them price an item and when it goes to my cart it is higher. I have asked them about this and I get the run around. I have received items I ordered from the boys part, that was obviously men's clothing. They have refused my order because I had called complaining. Just not a good company
Love the Savings 4/5
I use the ThredUP app and love the ease of searching for and saving my favorites. I use ThredUP to buy better brands to improve my wardrobe at a significant discount! I have used a clean out bag and it is very easy. However, I won’t do it again because I could actually get more from my clothes to donate them for a tax write off. I only received a very small amount per accepted item.
Don’t do it! 1/5
Could do much better at my local consignment shop. Sent 3 boxes of next to new designer label clothing and evidentially they lost one whole box as it never showed up on line. The listing prices are low but the payout is ridiculously low. I would have been better off giving it to goodwill directly!
App works well and is easy to navigate 4/5
This app works well and is easy to navigate. Available discounts are not visible at checkout, but the codes can be copied and pasted within the app, so it’s not too hard to use.
I am not particularly happy with ThredUP in general because of the cost to return items and the restocking fees.
Great app! 4/5
I have made two purchases here. All the things I bought were great. My first purchase all gently used almost new. They were all in perfect condition. I am awaiting for my second purchase. This ones were all new with tags but final sale. Super low priced. We’ll see if the fit !
This app has no men section a.k.a. sexism
By HigherEd Prof
I buy many of my tops for work here. Coupled with a nice pair of black pants and pumps, and I’m all set. I also have several all purpose blazers and cardigans from ThredUP (for warm and cooler weather) to mix and match. It’s been a terrific solution to my budget - and reducing my carbon footprint. ThredUP is terrific!
Wouldn’t give me the sale price 3/5
Items would be advertised as price drop, but when I would put them in my cart it would not give me the new price. I took screenshots and will try to contact them. Hopefully they will honor the price shown.
Waste of time 1/5
This is not worth the time and effort I put into it . I spent time packing all this stuff up and got a offered for $9 . Your joking right . Your selling all that stuff for over $150 and I get nine . I’m donating it to goodwill from now on this app is a joke . I’d never buy anything on here it’s the same price as a sale at Macy’s and knowing that the person who sent it gets .60 cents and your charging 32.99 . I expected way better ., but then again it is a selfish world . I choose to opt out keep the clothes and the $9 good riddance. Stefanie Anderson
Love, love, LOVE ThredUP 5/5

This is an AMAZING store!!! I just found it, but I have already bought so many gorgeous things!!! I HIGHLY recommend! Although, I can’t help but wish they would implement free shipping (or greatly reduced). I would literally buy twice as much! You need to check out this website!!!!!
Great for shopping, but for selling 1/5
I love getting a good deal on ThredUP so I thought I would try consigning my stuff through it to. Don’t bother! My commission was usually less than $1 on name brand clothes like JCREW & Altar’d State - and they were selling for anywhere from $10-$15. Take your items to Poshmark instead and cut out the middle man.
Starving artist dressing in couture wardrobe 5/5

Thanks to Thred Up I have a beautiful capsule wardrobe of couture garments.
Excellent app and service 5/5
Thred up is amazing and keeps tons of clothes out of landfills. The products are described well and typically have measurements.
