Very Satisfied Buyer 5/5
I’m a real customer and no one is paying me to write this. I only use ThredUP to buy, not sell.
I’ve been ordering items for a few months now. So far, everything arrived exactly as described and the deals are great. I scored a like-new JCrew dress for $25 that would retail $100+ easily.
My favorite feature of the app is how you can save your search and be notified when items fitting your search perimeters are added to their inventory. So if you are looking for something specific, it actually finds it for you!
I also love the sales and rewards. Just about every day there is a discount code in my email. And there is a rewards system where you can earn REAL rewards, like a $10 discount!
From now on, ThredUP will be my first stop when I need apparel.
Did not realize it was only for women 1/5

You can spend hours looking at everything. Great bargains, nice clothes - love it. So happy to have found this site.
By Tracy Seid
It would be wonderful if I was able to sort and filter my favorites.
Love this company! 4/5
I made a commitment to buy only used clothing in 2020, which would have been impossible for me if this company didn’t exist. I live in the country and don’t want to shop at Walmart or drive an hour into the city to shop amongst the crowds.
I recommend several improvements to the shopping experience. First, allow sorting and filtering on the favorites list. Second, create something like a personalized feed with my favorite brands, colors and styles, which I can edit at will, kinda like a super search with a lot of options. Third, allow for users to alert staff when a description is obviously wrong. For example, I’ve found a zip up hoody classified as a pullover sweater, and a crew next sweatshirt identified as a short sleeve polo. Finally, there are certain items that never have measurements, like jackets. I’m very busty and won’t buy anything without a measurement. Also, why do pants and shorts have waist measurements but not skirts?
Better way to thrift???? Maybe not 3/5
Seems like a legit and awesome new way to thrift.....But I’m not sure I will use it very often. I expect better pricing. That’s why o thrift. And the picture could be better. Pictures of details on clothing are needed. And the condition of closures and fasteners should be disclosed. I’ll check back from time to time but I’m not impressed yet.
No men’s clothes! 1/5
Don’t standard thrift stores have men’s clothing? Women’s, girls’, and boys’ clothes and shoes. That’s all they carry. Disappointing and misleading.
Great online consignment! 5/5
Beautiful clothing & great selection! Easy checkout. Packages arrive wrapped as though I've just left a high end boutique.
Really 1 star, horrible company 5/5
This is my fourth time reviewing this app or company, they keep deleting all of my other reviews because I am honest in them.
I had to rate it five stars, but in all actuality it doesn’t even deserve one star. I am hoping that since I gave it five stars they will leave my review without actually reading it. This way consumers can actually read my warning.
Yes this company sells used clothing, I’m a big fan of buying secondhand. Where they drop the ball is the descriptions and the quality of the clothing.
I have received many items that were completely unwearable due to having holes large enough for me to place my fist through, but thred up still marks these items as brand new and tags still attached. I have also bought items that were marked as being like a sleeveless dress, but when I get the item not only does it have sleeves but it’s not a dress it’s a shirt. I have also gotten items that smelled like a smoky BO filled death, come on thred up, if it smells it shouldnt be sold.
Then they charge you $1.99 for a restocking fee and then $8.99 to return your funds. Totaling $12! That’s right, even if they miss describe the item or it smells like someone died in it, you still get to pay them $12!
So be mindful of that.
Terrible terrible 1/5
App works fine. But the turn around time for getting your stuff put on their site for sale is absolutely ridiculous! They had my stuff since 5/3 it’s 2 months later!! And still nothing!!!! Sorry, can’t use COVID as an excuse for everything and sorry service!
Just awful! It’s a shame really! And their sales are only on stuff you don’t want nowadays!
Bad for the seller 1/5
By FedUp on thredUp
The only one who makes money on thredUP consignments is thredUP the seller makes nothing, what a scam. Read all the very tiny print before sending anything in to sell. Lesson learned!!
Every item in my cart had a p”promo code sparkler” next to it but when I added the code it said non of my items were available for discount. Don’t lie to me lol I don’t mind paying full price or whatever. I know it was already discounted but don’t flash a promo code next to my item like I can get it discounted again a. Also, for some reason I can’t see any texts as I’m writing. So work on that too, maybe? Thanks! And why are your forcing me to pick a nickname for my review? Stop that!
It is the easiest, fun and simplest way to shop. I only hope the shipping and receipt of merchandise will be just as easy, fun and simplistic. I prefer to shop with this personal and private process. As to date excellent service!
Terrible Return Policy 1/5
Use Depop or Poshmark instead. I bought an item that was incorrectly advertised and they would not refund me appropriately. I will not be shopping there again once I can finally get rid of this store credit I’ve been stuck with. I would not recommend.
Not as advertised 1/5
Lots of stuff is mislabeled or description is like new but is stained up of pilled up.
Nice idea but super hard to figure out how I can return this garbage Goodwill style junk.
Would love to rate higher but... 2/5
By Angela Calderon
My package never came and it might have been stole. I understand that that isn’t the fault of the company’s or anything but an email on it being delivered would’ve been nice, especially since I get emails about their other promotions so often
Great App! 5/5
I’ve only been with Thread Up for a couple of weeks but so far I’m totally impressed. I’ve purchased 4 items so far and I’m happy with them all. You can get good stuff for great prices! And the app makes it so easy to find what you’re looking for! I just signed up with Thread Up’s “Goodie Box” and I’m so excited. I can’t wait to see what’s in it! Also I have contacted their support team with a couple of questions by email and received a response the next day. But Beware....you can spend hours in this app shopping! There’s so much to choose from. Great job Thread Up!
Love it 5/5
I have completely renewed my wardrobe with thread up. Love the deals and the points for coupons. I’m most definitely a bargain shopper and I recommend this site to everyone
They have potential to be great 3/5
Customer service has a lot of room to grow. Items are not described truthfully and accurately. Communication with sellers is terrible. There’s room for growth and I hope they get better because they offer great products.
Overpriced and Not as Advertised 3/5
I have purchased from ThredUP many times and on multiple occasions, have received items that were not as advertised. For example, one shirt said “in excellent condition” but had a nickel size hole in it upon arrival.
Easy to Use 5/5
Easy to use app, I like that I can set my size preferences so when I look up clothing it ONLY shows my size. You can also save searches and favorite items and get a message when the price drops.
Very slowwwwwww 3/5
Shipping is super slow. The products are clean. But its been a hit or miss for me. Ive only been happy with my purchases about 50% of the time. Haven’t purchased a lot because of that. Just placed my 3Rd order, it it takes to long to receive, Im deleting the app and moving on
Customer support is questionable 1/5
I’ve been trying to get info on an item I bought about a month ago. It was financially important, but all I ever see is that a fedex tracking number has been created: nothing about the item or where it stands in the shipping process. I’ve gotten items order from the same facility/warehouse more recently than this prior purchase. Service/customer has not responded to email or chat.
Great site for gently used clothes 5/5
This is a wonderful way to send off your good wearable clothes and find new items—well new to you
no men’s clothing:/
LOVE THIS WEBSITE! 5/5
ThredUp has been an amazing find for me. I have enjoyed sending in my preowned items and discovering new things every day. Cleaning out my closet has never been more fun! App is easy to use and customer service is 5 star as well.
Love the app. It’s so awesome. Great customer service. I come back to shop constantly.
Bewildered why anyone likes 1/5
ThredUP is such a rip off. From an entire box of name branch great condition clothes I got $3.50. Not enough to buy any of their overpriced items. Poshmark is such a better deal.
Side Hustle 5/5
I LOVE LOVE LOVE ThredUP. What turned into a way to get rid of clothes after weight loss has turned into a nice little side hustle. I’ve made over $200. I tell everyone I know to take advantage of this!
Great shopping! 5/5
I love thredUP and buy most of my clothing here. Item descriptions are accurate and photos show you exactly what you’re buying. Great sales and app, too!
Not what I hoped it’d be 1/5
I’ve sent two bags to thredUP. Personally I don’t think it’s worth sending well taken care of like new clothes, if you’re only going to make cents on them. The bags usually take a really long time to be sorted and listed online. I don’t know if they’re betting on you forgetting what you sent or not, but I’ve sent new, unused items, with tags attached, that never got listed.
I don’t recommend using thredUP if your trying to make a profit.
I do recommend using thredUP if you were going to donate to the thrift store anyway, and don’t care what you make or what they choose to sell.

Who is determining what dress length is knee length and what dress is not? How can a dress 31 inches in length and a dress 41 inches in length BOTH be considered knee length. If you know the designers you can pretty much figure out how a dress will fit on you or if you’re a sewer you can look at a dress and maybe figure out how where the hem will hit but, we rely on you to give us an honest assessment of the clothing, I’d like to know based on average height (and be told the height your using) where the dress will hit, above the knee, at the knee, below the knee. There is no such thing as knee length and short unless you consider a hem that falls at your knee short!
No Mens 1/5
By Judas Prime
I was excited about the app until I realized there is no section for Men. I'll update my review if men's section is added.
IDK IT WAS JUST BAD! over priced...I could go to goodWill and get multiple CUTE items for the price of 2 of the shirts on here...shame on y’all this is a scam
The only place I buy work clothes 5/5
Great prices for name brands.
Cliente fija 5/5
Soy compradora compulsiva me encanta la paguina pero hace un tiempo tuve un inconveniente y no pude aclararlo. Ni defenderme les hace falta un centro de atención al cliente telefónico. Y efectivo gracias
Its okay 2/5
If you’re looking to buy. You will find some good pieces but prices will be higher than your local thrift shop. However, I am disappointed because I sent a large bag of clothes that were in excellent condition. It took a long time for the bag to be processed and the items to be posted for sale. When one piece would sell. All I made was .27 cents for an item that sold for 7.99$. Im not expecting to be paid 50% but .27 cents is just a joke. If I knew, I wouldn't waste my time sending my bag of clothes over and would just donate the clothes or sell them on Poshmark.
Don’t order from ThredUP 1/5
By thredup is a pain
Items are not in the condition described, and it is impossible to contact customer service to resolve order issues. I got a shirt with a missing button and I can’t return it because it was a “Final Sale.” The condition was described as, “Like New.”
Fun and easy! 5/5
I love thred up!! I’ve been a loyal customer for years and the whole process is so easy! The app works great!
My favorite place to shop! 5/5
I’ve been purchasing from them for over 4 years now and only one time was I disappointed in an order, and actually, it was laughable! There was a built in belt that had brass tigers that locked together on the otherwise very flattering top. Not really my style... :) I’m careful to zoom in in photos now. I’ve always loathed shopping, but now it’s like opening a treasure chest and being surprised by all the goodies!
Pleasantly Surprised 5/5
By Armadillo helmet
I’ve searched for a certain pant for years; found what I wanted on ThredUp and they’re exactly what I expected! Had been looking to replace my old favorite winter vest for two seasons & found a “new with tags” at an almost-free price!
10/10 awesome service!!
It could be better 4/5
I’m all for secondhand shopping and when I find a seller that I really like I tend to stick to them. However, one major problem I’ve noticed with the app is that when you select the option to see all from seller, the app does not allow you to view the shop to its full capacity; thus, despite me knowing that the shop holds more items than the app allows me to view, I am unable to do so. This often leads me to go to the website on my laptop just to view the full shop. In that sense, the app becomes a bit more useless than the website itself and is far less convenient, defeating the purpose I assume it was created for 😑😤.
Why Buy Anywhere Else? 5/5
Since discovering Thred Up a few years ago I have all but abandoned other retail. Tons of quality items at great prices and it’s a good feeling to be part of a recycled clothing culture. Love it!
SCAM!! DO NOT BUY OR SELL FROM HERE! SCAM! 1/5
I ordered a goody box from thredUP, it’s seemed like a good company and I love shopping a thrift stores. I received my goody box and didn’t really like anything except one old navy dress for $23.99 which I kept and returned everything else with the pre shipping label. I thought all was good but then was charged $223.96!!!!!
What the hell!
They said I didn’t return the original items!
I returned everything expect that old navy dress and within 5 days of receiving the box.
I’ve tried to reach out to thredUP and they just keep saying o I’ll have my processors look at your account. This is a scam! Screw thredUP I want my $223.96 back scammers!
Love love LOVE!!! 5/5
thredUP is a super easy to use / fun app that provides thousands of cute clothing items at a really great price. Keep your eyes out for discounts and sales!!
