Tile - Find lost keys & phone App

Welcome to Tile, the world’s largest lost and found. Tile makes tiny Bluetooth trackers and a companion app that allow you to locate lost or misplaced items in seconds — like your phone, keys, and wallet. Compatible with Tile Mate, Tile Slim and Tile Original. You can order Tiles at http://www.thetileapp.com *Ring your things. Attach or stick Tile devices to anything you don’t want to lose and use the app to ring your stuff when you’re within Bluetooth range. With Tile Slim and Tile Mate you can pick from one of four unique ringtones. *Ring your phone. Can't find your phone? Press any one of your Tile devices to make your lost phone ring —even if it's on silent. *See where you had it last. Keep the app running in the background and it will automatically record the last time and place it saw your item on a map. So, if you left it somewhere, you know where to look first. *Ask others to help. Still can't find your Tiled item? Our “Notify When Found” feature puts every device running the Tile app on the lookout for your lost stuff. If anyone comes within Bluetooth range of your Tile, we'll let you know where it is. This feature is 100% private, so no one knows you're looking for a lost item but you. *Find your phone from any device. Our app turns any phone or tablet into a virtual Tile. Simply download the app on all of your devices — and use the app on one of your devices to find another. Plus, you can use our voice calling feature to call another device from the app — even on silent — to help you get in touch with whoever may have picked up your lost phone.  Notes: * The app utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with your Tiles. The maximum range is 100 ft. * The app utilizes Location Services to record the last known location of your Tiles, based on your phone’s geo-location data. * Continued use of GPS or Bluetooth running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Tile Premium: Tile Premium offers an enhanced finding experience with exclusive features like Smart Alerts, Location History and Unlimited Sharing. Available for a monthly or annual subscription ($2.99/month or $29.99/year). You can subscribe and pay through your iTunes account. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renew may be turned off after purchase by going to the ‘Manage Subscription’ page in settings. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. The subscription will renew at the same cost. • Chewing through battery like crazy 1/5

    By TXCiclista
12.0 (and .0.1) and the Tile app is hammering my battery. If it’s not in range of the Tile, it runs non-stop and chews through my battery’s charge. Definitely not cool
  • Good concept. Bad execution 2/5

    By Teosoccer
Poor instructions. In trying to set up tiles, navigation proved impossible. Went into endless loop between two screens that did not allow for backtracking or setting up additional tiles.
  • The tiles are not working 1/5

    By cupcake cycling
I have bought and renewed Tiles for the past 3 years, Every now and then one tile would quit working 6 months in. This year... They don’t work. I have 6 tiles. Disappointing. I will not renew the Tile again.
  • Like tile 4/5

    By Eli Heitland
I like my tile. So I can have it to find my wallet. But my only problem is that I have to keep the app running in the background or it just turns off. That is really annoying since it drains my battery to but I do like tile anyway.
  • It use to be great 1/5

    By NOVA westie
I’ve used tile products for 5 years. The orginal tiles were great and durable. These new tiles are cheap and stop functioning in weeks. Customer service does not care to do right for long time customers to upgrade to the sport. These are not the tiles i have used in the pass. Having to replace each month and this model cannot handle being on a dog. I will be moving to alternative trackers once my one year of replacements is up. Tile you have lost a long time user!
  • No good. Don’t waste your time or money 1/5

    By Leaf Tacondry
This app is garbage and uses misleading marketing. The batteries die quickly. The app support links are always broken. There is no one to talk to. It’s all trash.

    By Faultiestpoop
I have really enjoyed having my tiles, i have two and my wife has one on her keys that she uses daily all of them started to go dead last month so i purchased some batteries and some super glue and now they work great again, the app still says that they need to be replaced even though they work like new wish they would remove the message trying to get me to buy more 3/12/18 - update, still love my tiles still getting replace tile message 10/15/18
  • Ring only allowed from Bluetooth connected phone 3/5

    By phylim
I think it used to let you ring tile form any device, but now it only let you ring the tile only from the device that the tile is connected to via Bluetooth at the moment. When both devices are in Bluetooth range tile just connect to them randomly. I’ve to hunt down the device that have Bluetooth connection first to ring my key.
  • Good idea, poor execution 2/5

    By 42 Blue
Tiles have an extremely limited range, limited durability, and only last a year. I’ve stood right next to my tile and tried to ring it and it didn’t ring. They only seem work sometimes. They use Bluetooth technology, so you need to be really close to them for them to work. A SIM card would be significantly better, because it would work all the time, regardless of distance. A SIM card would also significantly increase battery life. They just made really poor product development choices. They sell the slims as a disposable product that lasts for only one year. Waste of money. The new mates have a replaceable battery. A rechargeable battery would be way better. No one wants to buy and replace tiny batteries. Not environmentally friendly at all.
  • Fraudulent subscription charge 1/5

    By nonripoffspls
I agreed to a free trial of premium service and marked the last day to cancel on my calendar. I never used the service or the app. A few days before the expiration I contacted Tile and they refused to remove the charge. Don’t bother with this company.
  • Confused 1/5

    By SusanInMS
Have no idea how this app is rated so highly...it’s never worked for me
  • Mediocre 3/5

    By St. Zita
So I purchased the tiles for work keys (employees kept leaving the worksite with keys). I have seen an enormous reduction in keys being accidentally taken home. However, the accuracy for actually locating the keys is mediocre at best. The improvement is merely the power of suggestion. Staff don’t know that I’d be really lucky to get a accurate, current location on the keys at their home. My secret for now. The other MAJOR problem is that Android phones use a much better map app. I would rather track a tile on android than an iPhone. Apple really needs to more advanced than this.
  • Works great but you may be a mule for their contacting Tiles near you? 3/5

    By Chip93105
Great functionality. But when I enable background app refresh (as their pop-up requests), they use my device as part of a mesh network to locate other Tile devices. The background traffic overhead on my phone varies, but it seems to grow. I left my 6S iphone with all other apps off and background refresh disabled for them while in Madrid. Still lost >10% battery overnight. I then turned off the Tile background app refresh; things work great. So how much do you want to ‘help’ them monetise what could become a monopoly community? Otherwise, great product. (I had an early September 2014 version that was too weak; this review is for units received late September 2018)
  • Biggest hipe 1/5

    By justgb
Totally did not do what it said and it did not have the range that I expected if you are in another room you are totally screwed And the battery only last one year and then you have to pay for the product again and then again and then again this is a totally scam I purchased on the first launch this is the biggest bunch of BS I have ever purchased on the first launch
  • Crashing 1/5

    By Bennsco
Crashing ever since I installed OS 12. Big big minus. They say they updated it 4 days ago but it still does t work. A total bust for me. And about $100 of worthless Tiles.
  • tile stopped working 1/5

    By BabblingBrookayyy
tile just didn’t ring anymore, making it 100% useless
  • Charging a subscription for basic features 2/5

    By nyischilly
Firstly, the tiles are “ok”. Usually takes a while to find something. Took two days to get notified it found my keys. (I had already found my keys without the app.) Now they want to charge a monthly fee to tell us we’re leaving home without something? That should be included with the high cost of the tiles themselves.
  • Loved, but... 3/5

    By Elmolife
I loved the tile at first but lately I am having issues. It’s won’t make sound more than half the time. So I need to walk around and search everywhere. Sometimes when looking for my phone that also won’t make sound.
  • lost wallet. 4/5

    By Softtail2009
I was in Ross department store and I only carried my phone and wallet in. I laid my wallet down looking at something and walked off and left it. I was almost to the security guard when I had tried using tile to locate my wallet. well that didn't take long. Seems my wallet found its way into the shopping cart of. patron ready to EXIT the store. The security guard earned his pay that day. Now if only they could make a TILE TO FIT MY GLASSES!!!!
  • Asking for sign up 1/5

    By JonessR
Why, why? No need to sign up. Now they are useless. I shouldn't be forced to sign up for anything via email
  • Bloated - much better. 5/5

    By Jrsh1234567890
I can’t believe this app is almost a half of a gigabyte. Update: They managed to reduce the size to 80 MB. Much more reasonable.
  • Battery destroyer 1/5

    By Eggiers
The app uses 17% of my battery life every day. That’s just too much.
  • Sharing is not caring when it comes to Tile premium. 3/5

    By मोक्ष
Hi, I'm a new user of Tile and planned on signing up Tile premium for years to come after my 1 month trial. Unfortunately, I've just changed my mind about it. Because moments ago I've realized that the smart alert feature aren't shareable. Which is inconvenient for people who has children and/or elderlies in the family who may accidentally forget their keys and locks themselves out. I just hope Tile can improve on the share features of the Tile premium in the nearest future, which I would most definitely be signing up for.
  • Awesome. But 1 update 5/5

    By iwritelight
I’d like to see an ability or order tiles from app
  • Replaceable batteries!! Out of range alert?? 1/5

    By andrew
I was going to purchase these new Tiles, since the battery can be replaced now. However.... Smart Alert should NOT be a subscription. Out-of-range alert is a standard feature. All of the bluetooth trackers got this feature. It's ridiculous for them to charge a monthly fee for a feature that operates locally on the phone. Make Community Find a premium feature, you need servers for that! Extremely disappointed!! Good thing I didn't invest too much on Tile. I only got one Tile.
  • Still no Bluetooth 5.x products. 1/5

    By Libertyforall
Still no Bluetooth 5.x products. They should also add a version with GPS.
  • Very annoyed ! 1/5

Very annoyed - I had a problem with my tile and reported on the app. No response however the app hounded me all the time to go buy a new one when my battery was low
  • Customer service 5/5

    By Alexandre K.
Love this company! They made returning my defective item a breeze! From start to finish; the call was professional and my needs were promptly understood, no irrelevant questions. And a few days later a brand new Tile came to my mailbox with emailed instructions on how to replace it that came in advanced! These people are on the same page as I like to work when it comes to efficiency, service, and overall kindness. Thanks guys! Will be coming back as a customer for more Tiles in the futures.
  • "please turn on bluetooth" 2/5

    By wasp604
No! I keep bluetooth turned off for power-saving reasons. Apple doesn't seem to get the idea either. When I tap off, I mean "off". Apple thinks it means "less", and Tile seems to think it means "not right now". No. I never leave unnecessary radio functions on. Nobody should; It's a bad habit to leave them on all the time if they're not needed. Tile needs to understand that there are some of us who think this way, and that we won't be swayed by the 6th, 7th, or umpteenth time you ask, "please turn on your bluetooth" I get that that's your schtick. But no. I am not using it right now; It stays off. Quit pestering me about it.
  • Lasted 8 months 1/5

    By Pete Mayhem
Forget it, if your tile lasts less than a year, good luck navigating their hellscape of a website to find out how to retile early. I can’t find any way to make a claim on the site. The contact button at the bottom of support reloads the page you are already on. Don’t give this company money.
  • Eh, not worth it. 2/5

    By Daughter of Love
For all of the money spent on my tiles, you would think they'd last at least 6 months. I originally bought the sport tiles since my boyfriend and I both have a bad habit of losing our keys. We used them all of two months before they became inaudible. When we finally did find the keys, the ringer was on, but so low you had to put them to your ears to hear it. The app was good while the tiles worked. Tried again with the regular tiles and once again I got maybe 3 months out of them. No point in getting these or the app is you're stuck shelling out $50-$100 every few months on new tiles.
  • Love love love! But one small glitch. 4/5

    By Abbi824
As someone who would lose their right arm if it weren't attached, my tiles are a literal lifesaver!!! If they're not near me, I can see on the map where my phone last connected to them so I know where I lost them; at home, at work, or at a store. I no longer panic when I lose something, it's fantastic. The only issue I've had is that the "Style" tiles crap out after about a month. They still connect to GPS and come up on the map but they don't ring when I try to find them, so it's back to the "original" tiles. That's the only reason I give for rather than five stars, but otherwise I have no complaints!
  • Works when it should not 1/5

    By Throtol
The only time it works is during funeral services and work meetings when I don't want it. However, when I actually lose my keys it cannot find them. Avoid.
  • Helpful But 5/5

    By sorry4ever
I just wonder why there’s no explanation about exactly what the updates consist of besides further improving the app. Maybe it’s just some technical stuff that we probably wouldn’t understand? Anyway, the app is very helpful when you forget where your keys are. It’s easy to set up and connect the Tiles to your phone. It’s also easy to use. I sure wish replacements were a bit less expensive though. They do have a sale often, but sometimes it’s at a time when I don’t need any new Tiles. I like to purchase new Tiles when I need them so they don’t sit around and lose power. All in all, I do use and purchase them just the same. Thanks!
  • Not accessible for blind users 1/5

    By Blind guys minds eye
I purchased a pack of eight tiles on sale as the reviews were fantastic and the ratings of the Apple crate. However, the main purpose for me is for me to find items I miss place as I am blind. Your app is not compatible with voiceover for iPhone. There are 22 million blind persons in the world. You’re missing quite a market
  • Tile App Addict 5/5

    By DanTheU2Man
I am now a complete Tile Addict! I have the waterproof tiles on our two dogs and my keychain, the slim one for my wallet and back of my iPhone, the mates attached to my MiFis and gym bag. The newer versions with louder volume and better range are welcome. Yes I wish they had r charge batteries and didn’t die after a year though I’m sure this is how they make money so can’t blame their revenue model to stay in business. (Tip: occasional sales when you buy them in bulk.) Still worth the money and great product as I never lose these things anymore!
  • Product works as advertised but... 2/5

    By GGarratt
The original tile doesn't support Siri?! I've been using and replacing these each year for nearly three years. I'm glad the batteries are nearly dead. I won't be replacing this year. Waste.
  • Don’t Download This On More Than One Device 3/5

    By MissCathexis
I wish there was a way to have this app be a IPad backup for my other app. Instead, this takes over the connections to my main app (phone) rendering it useless. There is a setting to shut off Bluetooth in the app, which would be great if it didn’t notify me at least once a day (and sometimes multiple times) that it’s not on Bluetooth. I know that...That’s the way I want it! No choice but to delete this and reinstall it if I need it.
  • Tile 1/5

    By Bigman247
This app is miserably terrible, it doesn’t show you Wewe your keys are unless they’re literally right in front of you.
  • ReTile & Cust Service Is A Joke 1/5

    By Vin BioDiesel
Very poor cust service. I tried to retile as mine died. My mailing address is not recognized in their database. Amazon, the post office and everyone else on earth can find it. Tier one support made me try all combinations online, took about 2 hours, no, luck, then said he would escalate to tier two. I got am email from them had to redescribe my issue and my return email was sorry we cant help you. Seriously? Your issue and you cant help me? No complaints about the device, it worked most of the time. But forget about maintaining a relationship with a customer. >UPDATE: I went to your supposed escalated email support site and it just looped me back to your no service customer service site. Good luck to anyone who tries to replace a tile.
  • Why is this app half a GIG?!?! 2/5

    By Nizle32
This should be no more than 100MB
  • Valuable investment 5/5

    By Crysqo
I started with the original tile for my keys and Apple TV remote. Later, when it was released, I picked up a Slim for the wallet. I may be lucky, but I have yet to have a tile die on me due to battery life. I had a technical issue once in the past two years and my tile was promptly exchanged. When the batteries get low im informed by the app and was allowed to “re-tile” at a discount. Marvelous. When I exchanged my last tile, it was still functioning after 18 months. So many headaches saved. So much stress avoided. So much time saved.
  • Stopped working after update 1/5

    By hachuyoyo
iPhone 6 user here. Tile knows its location is the exact same location as my phone but even though it’s right next to my phone, the keys circle is grayed out and can’t be clicked to find keys. Double clicking the tile also fails to ring phone. Buggy update!
  • Tiles keep ringing randomly! 1/5

    By iPowered
I got the tile double distance tiles (white with gold trim). Put one on my keychain and another on my son’s backpack. Some days they keep going off beeping randomly without me doing anything. My Son’s teacher complained and thought my son had control over the beeping. He said it disrupted the class all day long for a few hours till it just randomly stopped. Last time I ever buy this product.... I really wanted these things to work too. Another annoying requirement is the location settings prompts in the app. I like to save battery and I don’t keep my location on. This stupid app keeps sending me notifications about turning my location on. Absolutely ridiculous. I got Tile to track my things (not to be personally tracked by Tile).
  • Where’s Siri 4/5

    By Dlecompte21
Update claims you can locate with Siri now. I waste my data to download this update because it claim it has Siri shortcuts. Opened the app only for it to tell me that Siri is not support yet, update coming soon. Why list this update as having Siri shortcuts if it’s not ready yet? Update Version 2.37.2 has fixed my problem
  • Reinstall the app 3/5

    By mentaluproar
I had trouble with Siri integration. You need to delete and reinstall the app for the Siri option to show up. For some reason, upgrading the app didn’t work for me. I had to figure this out myself, since their support website has a link to contact support that doesn’t work and they reference a blue chat bubble that isn’t there on mobile.
  • Annoying 1/5

    By AdamM6997
Endlessly nagging my me for unfettered access to my location. Would have uninstalled if I did not own one. One star for being obnoxious.
  • It can’t even find itself 2/5

    By Flameslingerlover
On many occasions the Tile app says it cannot find the Tile. What is the point of a device meant to find stuff if it cannot find it? I found it myself it was in my own bathroom, I understand if it was in a lead box but in my bathroom?? Are you kidding me?!
