App does not work 1/5
Asks you to confirm email and enter in code. However, confirmation email just has a link and no code. Try to resend and you get a network error. How reliable can this system be if the app does not work properly?
In the beginning I had problems with my Tile but after contacting customer service and getting everything straightened out I am very happy with it.
Great app... when it actually works 2/5
Two times out of three the thing just does not work even when keys are out of sight but inches away. It’s a shame
Saves Time and Aggravation! 5/5
I would still be frantically searching for keys and tv remotes if it weren’t for Tile. Thank you, Tile!
Airplane mode: Annoying notification 2/5
I put my phone into airplane mode every night and would love to disable this annoying notification about the Tile not working in airplane mode (so what ...) without disabling all notifications of this app.
Liked My Old Tile 3/5
Upgraded to the new Tile with a battery and it is so “touchy”....it randomly goes off, even when my keys are in the ignition and nothing is touching it. Lately it’s been more frustrating than a help. That being said, loved the old one.
Can’t turn off find your phone on shared tiles 4/5
My wife’s phone chirps when I accidentally trigger find your phone. I disabled that on my phone and shared it to hers, but I don’t have the option to disable it on hers. Sad panda 🐼
It’s great when it works. 2/5
But it’s pretty unreliable many times. I’ve experienced lots of times when the tile does not make a sound when I ping it and then find the item two feet away.
Also the button on the Tile is extremely easy to accidentally trigger. This triggers it to make unwanted chirping. I wish they would remove the button altogether or redesign it to be less easy to accidentally trigger. But I don’t think they’ll do this. I’ve written to Tile to complain about this for years.
However, the Siri integration is really nice and the app itself is really nice. When the tile works it’s a lifesaver. Oh and I’ve gone through several tiles and they all experience the same about level of reliability so I don’t think it’s a malfunctioning unit.
I’ve had my tile for almost a year and I haven’t had to use it until recently. I lost my keys in my house and couldn’t find them so i thought I’d use the tile app to “ring my keys”. I went into the app and used the ring button and the tile made no noise whatsoever. I walked by my keys multiple times without knowing it bc the tile app didn’t ring my keys or alert me that they where nearby. Waste of money.
Terrible connection 1/5
Anytime I need to use the tile it’s never connected, nothing I can do connects and, it’s basically worthless and I’m extremely disappointed.
Pay extra from features that can be free 1/5
Cheap products. You should not have to extra for dumb premium features like forgetting you keys that should be free
Doesn’t Work! 1/5
This device is a joke! I had 4 of them and none will work. Attempted to contact Tech Support and never succeeded. Also, as the other reviewer stated, I don’t like that you have to leave the app running in the background for it to work. That’s not required for my other Bluetooth devices. If you have location services turned on it should work just like with any other phone app. I was excited to try these and now disappointed. Don’t bother with them!
Can’t add my tile that I previously used to my new phone. Contacted support and paid the premium membership for help and got nothing.
Tile doesn’t connect 1/5
My tile constantly disconnects from my phone and displays an incorrect location on the app and I’ve reset my phone and tried turning Bluetooth on and off again. Because of this the tile doesn’t function at all and I can’t use the app to find my keys, which is the only reason to buy a tile, and because there is no way to reset a tile I can’t fix it. I wouldn’t recommend buying a tile to anyone and I won’t be buying a new one. 0/10 garbage product.
Waste of money. 1/5
Whenever I truly lose my keys the tile never delivers when I need it the most.
Great product 5/5
I love my tiles! I’m completely absent-minded and misplace my belongings (especially my phone, wallet, and keys) like you wouldn’t believe. I used to spend so much time looking for my crap, but now my tiles help me find them easily. I really like how loud the tiles are, especially when my items are across the house.
I haven’t really used the “lost item” feature that the tile supports, so I can’t comment. But overall, I am happy with the tiles. If you are extremely forgetful, I would highly recommend this product.
Spammy notifications... and you can’t opt out 1/5
The app sends you notifications to advertise its services. And you can’t turn off notifications, since that would make the app much less useful. I reported it to customer service and they gave me runaround. Hence this 1-star review.
Bose SoundSport 1/5
Tried to use this app for my headphones but keep getting an error about it having a bad syntax. Looked up the possible issues and how to resolve. Still no resolution. I tried.
Great product 5/5
Love the tile and the Siri function but would like to see a tile button inside the home app.. instead of asking Siri where is my tile I can just hit the button within the home app to make it ring
Premium for already paid premium 4/5
I like my tile, it makes life easier, but one thing bothers me, two actually. First, why would I pay extra for “premium” features while I already have paid for the tile itself? Second, why the app does not support landscape?
I Love it! 5/5
Looks great and helps track down your keys or quite literally anything. Make sure you buy the tile pro with the replaceable battery because the regular tiles die after a year. I keep my tile mate in my wallet and my tile pro on my keys. It’s an amazing little gadget with a great app!
This app is terribly annoying. 2/5
I already purchased your product, and I was prompted to purchase the Tile monthly subscription service. I declined that in the app. However, I continue to be persistently harassed every time I open the app to use it to find my items. “Will you please please subscribe to Tile Premium???” NO. I already said no. Stop harassing me and just let me use the product that I paid for! 😂
Trash app and trash product. They will go days, weeks, or months without updating location.
not very user friendly 3/5
By COOOL! BUT NEED MORE
when i first heard of this app i was really excited because i love my wallet in my own house daily. i thought that the ringing would be useful for when it’s under something and i just can’t find it but the tile will only ring when the app feels like it. why can’t there just be an option to make the noise so you don’t have to wait for your phone to track the location on your item if you know it’s in your house? it’s just seems silly that you can only make the sound when the app wants to. i find myself frustrated with this app every time i use it. everyone uses this app for different reasons and circumstances so why not make it applicable for everyone? it’s not always about leaving your wallet in another city sometimes it’s just leaving it in the next room over.
Upgrade = Useless 1/5
I had an original tile gifted to me. It worked fabulous as long as it was near another mobile device with Bluetooth and location services enabled it would provide up to date location information. Recently there was an app update and about the same time the battery died on my old tile. I purchased the new tile pro to replace it and now the pro tile only works when within range of the mobile device it’s paired with. It no longer pings off other devices with Bluetooth and location services enabled that it is near. Therefore no longer provides accurate location services. In my opinion that renders the device useless. I’ve canceled my pro membership as a result. So much for the supposed upgrade...
Not reliable 2/5
Many times where I ring my phone from tile and I can’t hear it, only to find out that the phone notification for tile went off but the phone made no sound. It should work even if the ringer volume is decreased but it doesn’t.
Was good at first, gets worse over time. 2/5
I bought my tile because I'm forgetful. I have only been able to successfully locate my keys twice. Every time following that, the tile would not connect to my phone, and silently disconnects after only a few minutes. I have now tried to locate my keys several times from the app, and it ABSOLUTELY DID. NOT. WORK. I had to find my keys myself, then manually press the button on the tile to get it to reconnect. Then tile has the audacity to email me saying it found my keys. No, you didn't find them. I did, and you tried to take credit.
Waste of money and privacy.
App does not work 1/5
By Bad experience 1star
Every time I attempt to see the location history of my Tile the app closes it also does not show you where your tile is unless somebody is nearby with their Bluetooth on that has the app but once again you got to be able to see the app first
Endless notification spam 1/5
This app abuses iOS push notifications to spam you.
Tile validly needs notifications enabled to for its core functionality. This makes sense.
Unfortunately once you enabled them, the tile team shamelessly uses the push notifications to spam you, their paying customer, multiple times a week with push messages to tell you about new capabilities, new stuff you can buy, request you turn on location sharing, and more.
It’s disgraceful, annoying, and I’ll never pay for another tile because of it. I recommend you don’t, either. Shame on tile.
I lost my only key to a used pickup I had recently purchased and just couldn’t figure out where I’d put it. After two days, I finally found it. A friend recommended Tile so my wife and I got a pair of them to try. I mostly like it. When my keys aren’t in their bowl or basket, I just open the app and follow the noise. A couple of times, I’ve used my keys to find my phone. Great. The drawback is, (when I wasn’t allowing constant location use) sometimes it just won’t work. Even when both are in the house. Repeatedly. (Then I turned the setting to “always” and viola! It started working again.) Also, -every - single - time - you use it, they plug you an add for their expensive subscription service. Exhausting. I’ll never purchase the subscription service just because of that.
Bad. Useless. 1/5
You want to find something in your couch? Get a Tile. Do you actually want to get a location on something? Don’t bother with this. The most useless technology I have ever used. All it did was take up space on my keychain. Absolutely terrible.
Waste of money 2/5
I pay for the subscription.... I have no idea the only information it tells me is if I left my house without my keys 🙄 today I really lost my keys and the last know location was by my house. So useless if you ask me...
Useful when they work 2/5
I’ve been using these for a few years but am not sure why. The Tiles fail on me at least 15% to 20% of the time, and it’s maddening. I’ve followed all instructions and done all the suggested troubleshooting and contacted support, but the tiles are still unreliable on many occasions. They just don’t ring. Then they do. Then, the next time, they might not again. There’s no rhyme or reason to it.
Very Disappointed in iOS version requirement please fix! 1/5
By V Floridan
I am not able to update iOS and I don't see why a Bluetooth app should force an iOS update. It offers to let me download a last compatible version but it will not install. Sad. Sad. sad.
I JUST Bought new tiles because they FINALLY made them with replaceable batteries, but I can't use the iPad app. It will not run, it has a pop up that want me to update and then the update WILL NOT DOWNLOAD. Fix this. Please.
Tile is garbage 1/5
Do not buy tile. It never connects, it's never in range, and it doesn't work the way it's supposed to even if by some miracle it does connect for a time. It's just a fancy expensive keychain. Good idea in theory but just too glitchy. Tile is an email spamming service that is taking up valuable real estate on my keychain.
Terrible customer support 1/5
The application ghost charged me 30 dollars and now will not get in touch with me to dispute this charge
Hard to hear tile 10 ft away 3/5
By Comedy writer
Is hard to hear tile, but easy to see on map where is my dog
Updated, open, useless. 1/5
I just updated my app 3 minutes ago.
I have Tile open in the foreground, not background, open in the foreground. Staring at the app on my screen as I try to ring my iPad from my phone and guess what? Nothing.
My phone is 2 inches away from my iPad.
Both have bluetooth enabled.
Maybe things like this are why Tile does not have a customer service phone number, because they don’t want to have to actually hear that their user base knows about the problems they’ve been trying to cover-up instead of trying to fix.
Nice Tile, real nice.
I would leave 0 stars if possible.
Waste of money and time 1/5
Won’t add a tile. Ridiculous.
A great app/product when it works. 4/5
Tiles can sometimes lock up requiring a reboot. Recommend periodically checking. Product support bent over backwards to help me get this working.
The company continues to improve the product.
Never again 1/5
App could never make my Tile go off, always says to just walk around and gives me the option to notify when found. By the time I've found them, the Tile still won't go off, never fails. First time purchasing and NEVER again.
App nags and lies 3/5
While the product works well most of the time (it sometimes loses connection), the app ALWAYS tries to convince you to exchange the tile despite the fact that the new tiles have replaceable batteries. He first thing you see on the app screen is the nag because it’s more prominent than the item locator - you have to scroll for the key finder while the nag is on the top AND a persistent banner on the bottom. Naturally, when the connection is lost, you’re likely to start believing the nag while you can, in fact, either renew the connection or replace the battery. The only time the new tile needs replacement is when it gets wet or really fails, which is rare.
Tile took a lot of heat for not offering replaceable batteries. Now that they have caved in and done so, it seems that they will do anything it maintain that old revenue stream. It’s a good product and works well, so it’s still a buy, but don’t believe this app when it recommends exchanging tiles.
Horrendous customer service! 1/5
Be prepared to figure everything out on your own because there is no way to contact customer service. No phone number. No SMS like they claim. Only an email option that gives an excuse of how busy they are and not to expect a fast reply, but that doesn’t even work. My Tile doesn’t work. Won’t connect. Total waste of money. There’s no way to figure out how to send it back either, so I guess I’ve been duped! Just a warning to everyone else so I can hopefully save some other people from getting sucked in and ripped off.
Tile App mis-labeled my Tiles!!! 2/5
A recent App update has mid-labeled my tiles. What was once a Tile labeled for my car keys, is now labeled for my lunch box. For my wallet, is labeled for a document pouch with my Passport. Tile Support suggests that I re-label all of them correctly. I have a lot of tiles...about 12 (a bunch of the old versions that was on sale), and they are not all at near each other: I have a few at home, a few at the office, a few at off-site storage...and those are tens of miles in between. And the only suggestion is that I re-do them? I like for the support to make a correction on the back end so I don’t need to go through the effort. Besides, I wasn’t re-assured that Tile knows of the issue and has a fix in place...which means it’ll happen again and perhaps to someone else. Two Stars.
Just stops working 1/5
This would be a great app if it worked. And sometimes it does. But sometimes it just stops working completely. And that is usually when you need it the most.
One of the greatest inventions ever 5/5
My dear wife knows how forgetful I am. She is always looking for ways to help me.
She gave me four Tiles for Christmas. I can’t begin to tell you what a great gift it was. I have tiles on various sets of keys and in my wallet.
The tiles have saved me countless frustrating hours looking for my devices. They also help me find my phone.
I wholeheartedly recommend Tiles. For me Tiles is one of the greatest inventions ever.
Wowza! Cool idea.... 5/5
Great app! It’s already helped me a bunch of times to find my keys, wallet, and phone. I’m a little bit clumsy😬
Because the app prompts you to keep it open to maintain contribute to the mesh network of users and to assist the location of your items, I would like to request a cool graphic.
Most people close all of their apps to keep the background battery usage to a minimum, so this is the only one open. If, on the graphic that appears when scrolling through the different apps that are currently open, you put a graphic that reminded the user to not close the app, that would be pretty cool and effective.
Or, if in the settings there was a place to customize your own graphic that would appear while the app is open, that would also be pretty cool. Thanks!
Works but… 3/5
Why can’t Tile figure out how to keep Bluetooth running in the background on smartphones? I primarily needed this to be able to find my phone that I tend to loose around the house, usually just before I have to leave for an appointment! If I remembered to leave the app open no problem, but most of the time I’ve cleared my apps (long time habit) and Tile just doesn’t work unless it’s open!! Then I have to do it the hard way: start my laptop, go to web, launch the “Find My iPhone”, wait a minute or two till it’s located, play the sound, hunt it down. – I really thought Tile would eliminate the need to use this method, but until the developers can figure out a way to lock the app open, or something that keeps it connected to Bluetooth, I’m faced with it only working if I’m hyper-vigilant about keeping the app open manually.
Bought one brand new and it was already connected to a device. Since they legally cant reactivate a deactivated tile for any reason, its useless to me. Scam likely, don’t buy.
