Piece of crap 1/5
None of the help files are accurate! I somehow ended up with an automatic renewing monthly subscription, and I don't want that I can't figure out how to cancel it.
The hard version of the trail 5/5
By Marcia Steiner
This was a practice hike for The Appalachian Trail. It was harder to hike with the backpack then I expected.
Spring rains washed some of the trail area. Follow the tree markings!
Awesome trail app 5/5
Love the ease of use and the stats and especially the chart with Trail profile and photography taken along the trail pinned to exact location on trail
Stop with the crazy account setup 1/5
I deleted this app 5 mins after downloading, never having even seen the trails, etc. it’s one thing to require an email— although this should be done after presenting the actual trails. It’s quite different when requiring both my email and log in to Facebook which I don’t have anymore. Stop pushing social media!!!
Super easy to record my hike! 5/5
Love the simplicity of setting up a recorded hike. Trail info was accurate and concise. The summary at then end showed distance, elevation climbed, walking speed and outlined our trek on the map. Definitely will be using this app again on our next family hike!
Horrible waste! 1/5
No way to filter a search according to activity. It just a mashup of stuff. If you want to hike, you can probably make some use of it but even then it isn’t worth it.
I stupidly purchased the subscription hoping it would unlock some search feature. Nothing.
Too bad it is a good app, but 1/5
Good app but the premium version is worthless. How are suppose to read the books which are included in the premium version on an iPhone. Need an iPad version which is not available.
Needs activity selection 2/5
You need to have a way to select what activity you are doing, whether it is kayaking, hiking or backpacking. Is pointless to scroll through everything when all you are looking for is hiking trails
Do not purchase 1/5
This is worthless. It does not have all the major trails, there is no 3-D on anything but their selected trails- I tried to cancel within a day of purchase- no way- waste of money
This does not actually have maps just a blue line. I will not renew

What about pets??? Wheelchair trails???
Not for Mountain biking 1/5
Did not show the trails around me. App suggested MB trails too
Extensive information 4/5
By Patti of Asheville
With maps and directions. It’s the next best thing to having a guided tour! This app is pricey, but I might decide that it’s worth it.
Saved Falcon Guides Don’t snow in App 1/5
Why not ?
Not worth the $ 2/5
This app is cool in the fact that you can record your walks and document trails you’ve gone on. There’s no way to add trails. The trails that are on there don’t have actual maps to download like it says. Not enough users to make it interesting. Not renewing my subscription. Maybe if it was $7.99 a year instead of $7.99 a month I’d keep it.
Not very intuitive.
Downloaded Map Issue 1/5
By Take A Hike Mike
Similar to the individual in Glacier NP, I also experience a downloaded map that fail on a hike in El Dorado National Forest. I have the paid version loaded on my cell phone. My issue occurred in October of this year. You had mentioned a bug fix ??
Got all the way to the trailhead of Cathedral Lakes and as soon as cell device cut off so did access to downloaded maps. Upgraded to premium so this would not be an issue. The app states the maps are downloaded but even turning the phone on airplane mode makes them disappear, a few with just a weird blue line in the middle of the screen. We were extremely fortunate that one of our hikers had Gaia GPS which worked amazingly offline without a single issue. There are no help sections or user guides in the app and the Trails.com website has no FAQ's or any information that was helpful AT ALL! Customers should not have to contact customer service for every little thing, there should be resources readily available. Will not renew this membership and warn anyone trying out this service while it's discounted, don't waste your money.
Be careful of “Zombie” offer 1/5
Attempted to buy premium with discount code for Halloween. Link redirects to Apple app; will charge you the full amount w/o allowing you to put in special discount code.... bait & switch? Hopefully others don’t experience this
Old, inaccurate, difficult to use 1/5
I bought premium version to augment my very useful AllTrails app...Trails was on sale for 14.99 and features aerial pics to “know before you go.”
First thing, it is based on a 1997 trail guide, and many if not most of the very few reviews are quotes from that guide. Things change A LOT in 11 yrs and most folks would like a realistic assessment rather than trail guide rhetoric using words like “blissful.”
Clunky. Also the maps just take the closest chunk of map, even if the trail is barely evident and located on the edge of the map. Just plain hard to navigate.
Didn’t differentiate between trails where dogs could be under voice control vs leashed.
Multiple inaccuracies, a flat nearby city park trail (takena landing) was noted to have a total elevation gain of 348’. The Intensive Management trail in McDonald Forest near Corvallis is a 1.1 mi interpretive trail with minimal elevation gain...Trails combined that trail with the Calloway creek trail. These details matter.
Unable to cancel service 1/5
I signed up for premium service and it was not beneficial. I have tried to contact trails.com to cancel. I have not received a response. Website does not give me an option to cancel service. Instead they keep taking my money. I am not very pleased with the app or the service.

The app is not user friendly. I’ve been trying to cancel my auto renew subscription and nothing is available anywhere to do that.
Terry Vanover 5/5
This app is absolutely one of the better GPS trail maps with a huge data base!
By This Guy Is Aware
No free trial, when I paid the app then didn’t provide maps, the filter didn’t work and the most basic data (elevation etc) was missing. No option to cancel on the app, shabby.
no maps to download 2/5
careful before you purchase. I paid hoping to download maps for popular trails in Barton VT and there are no maps to download. Just wasted 14 dollars. Also cannot figure how to stop the auto renewal. Looks like I'll have to use All trails ap . More expensive but they have my maps
Only want to see fishing spots and keeps showing me all this other stuff!
So what is the point of the filter?
Trail maps worthless and inaccurate 2/5
The trail maps I have downloaded for trails have proved to be worthless as has a number of the directions to trail heads. Clearly nothing is really reviewed for accuracy before publishing.
Love this App 5/5
Great App to find and explore trails!! Must download!! You can keep track of completed trails along with adding a wish list for future adventures.
Where there's a trail, you can always find details about it with this app 👏🏼
Changing email and password 4/5
How do I change my email and password for this app? Does not seem to allow it .
Disappointed at Glacier 3/5
I bought this app to use while hiking at Glacier National Park. Most areas of Glacier have zero cell service so I opted for the paid version so I could download maps ahead of time. After installing I realized many maps were only trailhead locations, but I found several full trail maps for our trip. Upon arrival I discovered the downloaded maps did not include the actual map! It was only a blue line on an empty grid. I did use the program to track a few hikes, but the maps were useless.

This app is pretty awesome! I like to think I’m pretty good at finding hidden trails but this app shows everything! Only downside is whenever I try to upload pictures from my adventure they never upload :/
Useless without the subscription 1/5
Minimal information provided unless you get the subscription which at $8 a mon is too much
Best trail app! Super useful and easy to use! 5/5
Switched over to this trail map app and I'm glad I did! Simple to use, fast and accurate. Highly recommend to avid hikers and bikers.
Good but needs to improve 2/5
I zoom out even a little and all the trails disappear. I need to have an idea of where the trail goes and have to be zoomed in so far makes that terribly hard.
The labels are labeling points not trails. They should highlight the trail the marker is referring to for easier planning.
I love that there are so many trails on here! But it needs a better interface to make the app “useable.”
But! There are some functions I find very useful! Recording your hikes is awesome! Being able to take pictures and pin them to a trail is also awesome! Very good things and I hope there are more to come!
I think you guys did a great job.
Good tool for finding nearby trails 3/5
This is a good accompaniment to the web page. Please add the ability to save the guide pages offline as I usually don't have data service while hiking.
Great app for avid hikers and bikers 5/5
It's a nice and simple app with a pretty intuitive interface. It allows you to not only find trails, but record your adventures, and even add reviews and photos to help others who haven't explored them yet.
In my local area there are trails and rides called out that I didn't even know existed. Really looking forward to exploring many of those.
Easy to navigate 5/5
Great app allowing me to do lots of different things, al with ease.
Who knew there was a trail behind my house? 5/5
This app has made me aware of trails I kind of knew were close by, but hadn't wanted to try without some first hand knowledge. The rankings make it easy to know an easy trail to start with and there's plenty of detail to find out more if I would like to.
