Train Fitness Workout Tracker app reviews

  • Not letting me create account 1/5

    By DeeW90
I’ve downloaded your app and it signed me up for the subscription but won’t let me create an account.
  • Tracker Only 3/5

    By Tracker Only
So I bought this app thinking it would not only track what I’m doing, but let me save my previous workouts to repeat or design them. I’d like to see this app enhanced by the ability to recall previous or created workouts and then have the watch prompt you on what to do next, set after set. For example, create a customized workout plan in advance, and have the app move your through the exercises either in repeated sets, or a circuit. The AI can detect you’ve done what you’ve programmed, and move you through it. I hope this is what’s next for TrAIn, it would take it to the next level.
  • Great concept, poor A.I. 3/5

    By Mapes732
If this app actually worked properly and made workout tracking more efficiently, I would give it 5 stars. Not only does it not detect proper lifts the majority of the time, it also rarely recognizes supersets. Every single time I do dumbbell bench press, it thinks I’m doing DB shoulder presses, a lift I have not done one rep of while using this app. Also, with the most recent update, I can’t go into my phone and edit the workouts correctly. It doesn’t have a backspace button to delete an incorrect weight and prevents me from updating it. I train numerous high school and college athletes and had suggested they try it for our sessions. Not one of them are thrilled with it and have all suggested we go back to our old school way of mini-note book. With the time wasted during a workout trying to get the app to work right, we could have written the info down. Waste of a pro subscription.
  • Save weight 1/5

    By FewSimple9
Needs a way to save the weight set. For example let’s say I am benching 225, then doing curls I manually change the weight to 30lbs. Then bench I have to change back to 225 from 30lbs. This cycle continues all workout of you do more than one exercise at a time. It should auto save the weight each workout and go back to the last weight when it detects a exercise you already did in that session.
  • Not compatible for Apple Watch 3 2/5

    By knippychris
Please try to make this available or create a new app that the Apple Watch 3 can download. Some of us can’t buy a new watch like that and I honestly don’t want to spend money just because of this. I enjoy working out and I’ve been trying to find an app that actually counts your reps/ sets so that you don’t forget.
  • Absolutely Amazing 5/5

    By ChristopherCStark
It's amazing how this app automatically detects what kind of exercises you are doing.
  • I needed this years ago 5/5

    By Luiggi Gun
Been using it for the last two days and I’m amazed how sweet the UI is on the Apple Watch. Less time consuming on marking down my reps and I love the fact that I can customize the workouts on this watch. $70 per year was a bit pricey for my taste but the reality is that it leaves more time to train and less time to log. Thank you for this amazing app. My only suggestion is making a group offer like $250 for family sharing, that or make the monthly rate to $10.
  • App crashing 5/5

    By Ti2007to
Hi my name is Chris and I just downloaded your app and when I try to enter the app through my phone it would open but than it will just close immediately and go back to the Home Screen even when I restart the whole phone it still will not open and it only opens on my Apple Watch, which isn’t that convenient and I know it not a phone problem because I have a iPhone 13 and the new Apple Watch SE 2 gen that isn’t even 1 year old so I hope this can be fix soon Thank you for your time.
  • Best workout Application Ever 5/5

    By jdckfj fb. ndjnf cjxk
This is the most awesome application to track all you over +100 auto workouts and over 400+ manual. Next thing coming is workout maker. Keep it coming. Andrew and Quinnlan.
  • Great software 4/5

    By Reid Niermann
The ability to identify exercises and rest time is quite remarkable. That being said, I really wish it had the ability to input pre-set workout routines so that you could see what set/exercise is up next (as soon as you finish a set), and what amount of weight/reps you did on that exact set last time you worked out. Would be great to have this all on the watch. I feel like a large number of people workout in this fashion with a set routine. Without this feature, it seems difficult to make Train my full time workout companion. It shouldn’t be just about recording what you did but also helping guide you through you workout (and providing a historical reference so you can improve).
  • Was working 5/5

    By chicom24
It was working great at first but now I’m receiving messages WHILE I’m working out saying to sign up for a trail when I already am. It won’t track while it’s giving me this message. It’s also saying “error” on the top corner for no reason when it does start.
  • Incredible 5/5

    By oldbuck48
This is an amazing app. My favorite of any sort on the Apple Watch. It gets the right exercises and reps almost every single time, which is incredible. And it’s so easy to use and adjust on the fly. I’ve had other watches and apps that never came anywhere close to this level of accuracy or ease of use. I can’t recommend this highly enough.
  • Game changer! 5/5

    By Edwardluvr222
I’m so obsessed with this app! Love the new update where I can do supersets now! I’m recommending it to all my lifting friends
  • Wow 5/5

    By It's me Kevin
Does exactly what it says it does. Mind blown. 🤯
  • Money scam 1/5

    By jvdjskujcbdjdhbbs
This app used to be awesome now it’s over run with them trying to get your money by signing up for pro. Save the hassle and just use the Apple one that comes with your watch Can’t get over how the developers ruined this app, they auto detect over 100 exercises but don’t give you access to 70+ unless you pay, ridiculous
  • T 5/5

    By jjscott1
This app is super helpful in helping to track my workouts. I love the way it identifies exercises and allowing me to record them as I workout. I hope they continue to add more exercises. This will be all I need for my workout plan.
  • It changed 2/5

    By wastcoast
This app had so much potential until they added the PRO feature. There is a constant syncing issue with the subscription on the watch, it randomly works then flips out. I get the developers want to make money but they need to make their app work properly first.
  • Was great 1/5

    By BradB612
It was a great app then all the costly upgrades and everything came now it’s just annoying.
  • Great 5/5

    By Cdon2828
This is a great app.Just do the exercise and the app knows what you are doing and how many reps you did.
  • Wish they did not reduce features for free users 4/5

    By Semidevil
Great app and worked amazing. The free version had kept a lot of common exercises free, but the new update took a lot of it away and put it behind a pay wall. I wish the devs did not take away features from the free tier and instead charged for other features and enhancements
  • Amazing, truly. 5/5

    By Mr.Robutt
This app is amazing on every level. There are no others like it. The founders are great people as well. I’m very excited to be a part of this.
  • Fantastic app! 5/5

    By AdamRW80
I’ve been an avid weightlifter for 20 years and I always have struggled keeping tabs on my lifts (number of reps, weight lighted, 1 rep max, etc) but this app does it all! With this app you can start working out and it will figure out what exercises you’re doing and it will track your reps. All you have to do is tell it how much you’re lifting and it does the rest. It has been great keeping track of what exercises I need improvements on and areas that I have been getting great gains from. Highly recommend this app!
  • Mid 3/5

    By JORGE!b
The accuracy has drastically dropped since the update. It used to at least be within the right range of reps and sometimes right exercises. Since the update it’s not as accurate on either but I find the reps the most annoying.
  • Before Premium, it was the best 2/5

    By likasnmiba
I loved this all so much prior to the latest update. Once the update occurred and premium became an option, almost half of my exercises were not available and manually adding them was exhausting. I am so disappointed, especially since the premium version is 14 a month.
  • Pay wall 1/5

    By Killerbou13
Was great before the update but now you got to pay for things that were free.
  • After 2.0 1/5

    By Elielruiz
Ever since I updated to firmware 2.0.0 the app has been crashing on my watch missing that training completely
  • Love this app!!! 5/5

    By Raveena__
The UX is 10/10 and the accuracy is incredible. This has had a fantastic impact on my workouts. So convenient and easy to use!
  • wth?! 1/5

    By lexabear1997
Why is the new update now requiring payment for certain exercises?! Now nearly all of the ones I do are behind a pay wall!! This is a rip off, time to just delete the app.
  • Amazing! 5/5

    By bat_gurl_ОРЮР
This app is truly awesome: as an avid gym goer and a D1 athlete, I needed a program to quickly log my workouts to track reps, weight, and TVL progression. Train does just that. If you’re looking for an awesome workout app this is the one! I’m super excited to see what new and exciting features are coming in the near future as well!
  • Tracked 50+ workouts using this app and love it 5/5

    By jbonneville
I’ve use this app to track over 50 workouts and am totally hooked, love being to easily track my workout history - now never work out without it!
  • Happy Train App User 👍 5/5

    By Very Best Dad
App works great - tracks my workouts without the need for pen and paper - fantastic!
  • Used to be good.. 2/5

    By Rosebreaker
Started using it a few months ago and had few, if any, issues with the app. Since the pro update, tracking exercises has been inaccurate and quite frankly it’s annoying when an exercises pro-only.. It already knows what exercise it is, just add it instead of making me do it manually. Looking for a new app to move to or back to the trust notepad it is.
  • Developer taking away features 1/5

    By Dee76381a
App used to be really good until this last update. Where almost all the detected workouts are now behind a premium version.
  • Love it 4/5

    By AJW583
I love this app!! I use it daily to track my workouts. Love that it detects what I am doing. The only thing I wish it had was a feature to plan my workouts for the week.
  • Well it was great 3/5

    By Designskyline
It was a great app to use and I was always using it whenever I got to the gym. Sadly like every other training app, there came the in-app purchases for a pro version of the app. Only a matter of time.
  • Amazed by the app 5/5

    By Da best👍👍👍
Just did my first workout with the app and scary to believe how accurate it was. It knew exactly what I was doing and with what grip.
  • Hit start on the app and get moving! 5/5

    By my_chiguai
That's actually how it works for auto-detected workouts. I was a bit confused at first because the app asks for a weight amount, but I was going to do jumping jacks, so no weights. It turns out that once it auto-detects the exercise, it will set the weight to "BW" for a bodyweight exercise. And if you _do_ decide to use weights, you could fill that in for this value. Nice! I did two sessions of 3 sets of 50 reps for a total of 300 jumping jacks. It did undercount the reps by a few and you can set it so it "learns" your motion. It looked like it over-counted the calories based on the MET values so I reported this. A bug was identified and a fix is likely coming in a couple of weeks. Great support so far! Overall I like the concept a lot. Just get up and go. Looking forward to how this develops.
  • Will this work with the Apple SE? 5/5

    By Lavish Lex
Will this work with the Apple SE?
  • Terrible App do not trust for tracking your workouts 1/5

    By tictash
The app on the Apple Watch is fine with tracking mostly dumbbell movements but you have to manually add if you are doing machine moves but that’s fine. But the app to use on the phone is so bad I can never access my data is close out automatically and I can not even access the info online. Guess I have to just used the tried and true practice of writing my weights in my notes app.
  • Trying to create an account and keeps crashing 1/5

    By MJsPYT
Can’t even use the app it keeps crashing.
  • Amazing and hard to believe 5/5

    By Carlyluvsloki
I have been searching for years for an app to make tracking my workouts easier. When i came across this app, i thought it was too good to be true and wouldn’t work. But let me tell you, it works and it’s crazy how it knows what activities your doing and how much your lifting. I love that u can add custom exercises and you can tweak the rest periods to fit your goals. Also, it saves your workouts and shows you on the app what muscles you used and how much total volume you lifted which is so cool and helpful for when you want to progressively overload and track your progress. I no longer have to remember or keep track of what set or rep I am on. You can also make it social by inviting your friends and motivate each other and It syncs seamlessly with the apple watch. This app is a game changer. And if your a gym rat, you need this app. Seriously download it now!
  • Love it!! 5/5

    By CeeCee146
Absolutely love this app it’s so useful and helps keep track of your progress 🙌🏼
  • Loveeee this app 5/5

    By Bella Knuth
Just discovered this app for weight lifting and have not stopped using it since. So nice to have an app that tracks everything so visually and helps me remember my previous workouts. A lifesaver for progressive overload training!
  • Not automatic as shown 2/5

    By Edward_G
1st machine (triceps) was incorrectly identified. Had to manually change. 2nd machine (chest press) wasn’t identified at all. Two sets into it and it just displayed the weight setting. I’m now wondering if I’m missing something here, but this app is not as automatic as advertised. Ed
  • My fav app to track workouts 5/5

    By angelina :p🦆
this app does an amazing job with tracking workouts from back and bicep days to leg days and everything in between. if you haven’t given this app a try, you definitely should!
  • One of the best! 5/5

    By Jarrett Gruener
The train app will leave you speechless. From the auto calibration, to all the other little features it has to offer. This app is one of the best on the app store and i’m so glad I found it. As someone who likes to write down what they do at the gym, all the reps, and how long you were doing it for, this cuts the time down by a whole bunch! Would highly recommend train to anybody in your fitness community!
  • I have nothing to complain about anymore 5/5

    By TwoCentSolution
This is a great app, that had one annoyance….the scrolling to change weight. Now, it’s updated to allow you to type your weights in. Thanks for taking away my reason to complain about the app. Keep up the good work!
  • More then expected 5/5

    By Pierre Orcel
I have tried many apps I love the set up and the flexibility good work
  • Really enjoying this app 4/5

    By Craftymom2four
Very convenient little app for workout tracking. Love how easily it can detect what workout your preforming with the auto detecting feature and how easy it is to manually lookup and enter one that isn’t. Been using for a week now and already know that this is now going to be used every time I workout. The stats section is a great bonus. It shows what muscle groups I’ve been hitting and the areas I need to focus more on. One thing I wish would be different is when super setting. It will detect the different workouts, but I have to change the weight back and forth between the two different sets. Great overall!!!!
