Best app for public transportation 5/5
I’ve been using this app for a ever and love it!! This REALLY the BEST app for public transportation!!!
Awesome Bug Fix Reports 5/5
I used to use this app when I didn’t have a car. It was a great app. As far as I know, it still is. I keep the app on my phone for one reason. They have THE BEST bug fix reports of all apps. Where others say “bug fixes and improvements” Transit will actually tell you what they fixed in an amusing manner. Sometimes in the form of song lyrics or a movie scenario. Best reading in the App Store.
Needs update for iPad and support for landscape view!!!! 1/5
UPDATE: We don’t need clever update banter, how about landscape mode and the ability to save favorite schedules locally, offline?
Apple should make that mandatory for iPadOS.
Do you guys even read the suggestions?
To b a serious app, and not just a nice toy, this app is in dire need of a complete overhaul,
1) You need to be online in order to see the schedules. What if you're in the subway and there is no reliable reception? Why can't we choose what schedules we want to store locally? What about system maps so we can plan connections and alternatives for the entire trip end-to-end?
2) Why is there no iPad version with landscape mode? After all, the iPad (and tablets) have been around since, what, 2011 or 2012? The phone-only version doesn’t cut it with tablet device.
In Nassau / Suffolk County NY, buses that are late to their destinations “disappear” from tracking. So you can’t track it because, according to the algorithm, it was “here” already, because, you know, look at the time - it was scheduled to be through here 10 minutes ago. So, here you go, look at the next bus (if there is one). Exactly what the app shouldn’t do. This is true when waiting for a turn-around that ends at a destination and begins the next run in the opposite direction. To be fair, maybe this is the app, or maybe the bus driver turning off her/his GPS system because they are just so embarrassingly late. But it needs to be figured out and fixed if it is the app.
Why can’t the user opt to see all buses operating the route if they choose to, instead of this complicated ”according to the schedule” algorithm that tries to figure out what bus you can see for you? How about as in “see all Nassau N24 buses at once” on the map?
And once again, no iPad or landscape mode. App is an exercise in scrolling in portrait mode.
So, still one star. TransLoc has this app beat by miles. Too bad corrupt Nassau County can’t share their data with TransLoc, and do it without raising our property taxes another 6.5% to achieve it.
Review of Nassau County:
Proudly competing for the highest property taxes in the nation, with little to nothing to show for it except . . .
brand new traffic camera lights everywhere with - you guessed it - rigged yellow light timing and the highest fines with 1.8x ‘service charges’ in the nation.
Come on in, the water’s fine. Hope to see y’all soon.
Your better off just asking someone or using Apple Maps, this app is TRASH, very inaccurate
Correct time 5/5
I love this app because it has the real time the bus will pick me up
useful app 5/5
By surfing is fun
hella useful get this app if u too young or too broke to drive
Just plain too slow and inaccurate 1/5
By Chicago Organizer
All of the sudden it's hidden the "Show nearby lines" feature. This makes the app significantly less useful. You need to be able to see what connections are possible. It's especially useless as it defaults to me walking to the location I need to get nearby transit info about. Information had been inaccurate in the past now it's barely useful if you live in a larger city. You know the only places where people use public transit en mass. Go figure?
For riding the Bus. 5/5
It’s awesome and accurate. Just like maps on iPhone. However this actually shows you where the next bus you are waiting on is at. The bus location updates for me usually within 30-60 seconds. So you know even if it’s late it’s still coming and that is very helpful. And just kind of cool. You can set home and work to be available with a press and the notifications that tell you when you are two stops away and when it’s your stop are helpful. It does what it should and more.
This app is mot accurate. Ive been late soooo many time for work trying to go by what the schedule says and its never true.
No bueno 3/5
For some reason in the am like 1:00am-?? When it tells me a bus is coming it’s not accurate now I constantly have to wait a extra 1 hour and 20 min for a bus this is third day in a row this has happened orange bus line
NEEDS BETTER BUS UPDATES 2/5
I cant remember how many times I’ve been look at the app and the last location of the bus hasn’t updated in some time. I know there aren't alot of drivers and busses will be slow but LET US KNOW!!! I wanna know if its gonna be late or when because this is my main form of transportation. For an app thats supposed to keep us updated on these things you guys are really doing a poor job at it. I really wanna like this app but it’s like y’all dont care.
Works GREAT when needed! 5/5
I don’t use this offend, but its my go-to app when I’m in DC. Works flawlessly each and every time!!
Constantly changing 1/5
I don’t know whether it’s the buses themselves or the app but every time I go to check on the time a bus is coming it changes. I just watched a bus go from 3 minutes away to 20 minutes away. I’m not a fan.
Thank you 5/5
Timely, Accurate, and you gotta read the update notes 5/5
As a Chicago resident this app is used more than any of the others out there and is more accurate then the CTA apps published by the transit systems. I’ve found that it also works well when visiting other cities as well, so the apps ability to show a transit system is unrivaled. Their navigation is pretty user friendly and intuitive as well from the start, allowing you to favorite specific routes or lines & has an easy to access widget that can get you major route times without having to open the app (though it sometimes has difficulty registering smaller/less used routes). If you’re looking for a good transit scheduler, so long as these good folks have mapped out a system, this is a great choice to help plan your commute.
Also, there’s some good fun in reading their update notes sometimes if you’re bored.
Doesn’t update quickly enough. 2/5
Things happen quickly in NYC. This app can’t keep up. You can refresh and refresh and nothing. In addition, you can be ON the platform for a particular train and it will not give you the option for that train!! It’ll give you the buses around you and subways a block away but not THAT train whose platform you are currently standing on. So location services in the app blow. Even if you are eventually able to get the app to find your subway it will only give you one direction. And it’s always the direction opposite of the one you want. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling, shutting my phone off and on, nothing. On top of all this it is super SLOW.
Highly convenient and simple to use! 5/5
This app makes it very easy to get around the city. Very useful and helpful app. The display/ layout to navigate is simple and sleek. Very proud user of the app, thank you for the innovation Metro!!!!
Data laggin 3/5
Please update the system for correct timing and updates on alerts for changes.. nyc user thanks
Radical service 5/5
Thanks this is a awesome app
Just a mess. 1/5
In the past year or so since my last review the app has lost its way. It cannot seem to find a way home for me. It no longer directs me to the railroad, to take me directly home. Instead it has me get on the railroad and get of before arriving home to walk to a subway, the get off and walk to a bus and get off to walk home. A trip that takes around 40 minutes now takes an hour and 40 minutes.
Very helpful and most of all entertaining 4/5
As I began commuting to university for the first time and without a car, this app was helpful. sometimes it would show busses that didn’t exist or fail to show correct time the bus was leaving. But since using the app since last august, there have been consistent updates and improvements. I used it everyday at university. The app updates are entertaining and someone is doing a great job at their job so keep up the great work.
TLDR: overall helpful, sometimes miss informed, funny writers
The Wordt Ever 1/5
Traffic app, you are now so user unfriendly. Now, you force me to enter an origin and destination.
I am used to, for my own reasons, entering only the origin —say my home — and now I can’t.
Traffic app, you and I are done. I’m going to find something else.
This app is never accurate 1/5
By Jin 410
When I try to pull transit information it’s never accurate
Awesome app!!! 5/5
I went to update the app and, for some weird reason (cuz I never do), I started reading the update explanation (version 5.7.8). This comment has nothing to do with the update; I just wanted to say thank you for making me laugh. It was pretty dang funny. I needed it!!!
I don’t do reviews but I just had to for this app 5/5
By jfuduxuxhc hsdycx
I cannot say how much I appreciate this app and how accurate it is EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have options that I didn’t even know about, before I had the app I would get off work later that the options that I knew of and riding in Uber or Lyft every night was not conducive to the fact that I was doing OTat work and it simply cost to much money and defeated the purpose of more work hours when I would have to spend those extra hours of money to pay for personal expensive rides.
With the information that I can access through your app I can pocket my money instead by utilizing public transportations that I didn’t know were available ESPECIALLY during COVID19.
This app makes all kinds of sense and I cannot thank you enough!!!!!! <3
I wish it would track the bus that your currently on to your destination.
Update app 1/5
The app is messing up its saying I’m by the trollers but I’m no where near the trollies
Love this app 5/5
This app helped me go from someone who never caught a bus before to a public transport fiend.
I love this app and I love the app update descriptions. I don’t normally read app updates but when there’s an update for this app, I can’t help myself haha (they’re funny and fun to read).
Great app keep up the awesome work!
Minor flaws but 100% recommended 5/5
This App is great. Sometimes the timing and updates for transit are off by a lot and thus always better to prepare. But compared to others I would say it’s very dependable.
Refund ! 1/5
The bus ticket system if stupid .
Great app 5/5
I love how it tells you that your stop is coming up audibly I can miss the vibration that google maps uses
Bad schedule 1/5
I always get wrong schedules of the buses especially the 191 bus
I am much happier, & more informed, in the dark, or snow, with this app, while waiting for Transit ! Thanks so much you guys 💜🥰
Constant updating 2/5
This app is never updating. It will say whatever your mode of transportation is will be here in 0 minutes. I’ve had to wait hours on three separate occasions because the app wouldn’t update as it should.
this app has its faults 1/5
By Non accurate times for the bus
Not accurate all times in nyc
Worst transit app ever!
It’s not showing routes near me anymore. I use this app everyday. I live in Philly. I’m looking for my usual route. And it won’t load. What happened?
absolutely amazing for NYC people 5/5
i have been using this app for basically the entire time i have had a cellular phone, and it has been great for me. i know that it is a third party app, and relies on information from local transit information, but i personally, in NYC love to use it because it is very simplistic and less complicated than the MTA app.
You won my heart with the update description. Wow. Cool af
Not reliable 1/5
The bike rental through Mogo never seems to work when I need it. Just times out.
Best transit app for commuters. 5/5
By far the best coverage and easiest to use app for mass transit. Now with the crowding information, there’s no competition. I highly recommend it.
This app by far is the most accurate Transportation app that I have used so far.
Needs more improvements 1/5
Early, Late or No Shows... Doesn't give you the best route possible(missing shortcuts and alt routes that tend to be faster), mostly wants to only show main routes, but if you know what your looking for, it can be found. Used to be great app but I rarely use it anymore because it jacks up my trips 75% the time... I rather use the hard copy book then have to tweak the map and search by route numbers.... easier just to look at the book and find your route! That is SAD! Not holding my breath but remain hopeful it improves to become the app it once was!
Love the updates!! 5/5
Love this app and always look forward to the updates. Someone has a good sense of humor:)
Best app release notes ever. 5/5
By Andrew Southpaw
My days are always a little bit brighter when Transit releases a new version and I get to read their app release notes. Sounds silly but it’s true: treat yourself to a couple minutes of mirthful giggles because the person(s) who are them are brilliant. Also I guess the app is great too. 🙃
5 stars 5/5
I never use public transport before but man this app makes it easy. Thank you for existing.
Helpful & funny! 5/5
By Strange Sheep
This is just an all-around fun, informative app. I don’t use public transportation as much now that I have a car, but this app is the best, by far, for their creative update details.
I like it 4/5
This would most definitely get 5 stars but it does have its cons (the transit “real time” info sometimes is a bit behind (which could make you late to...wherever), the transit icon will come and go as it pleases when exiting and/or going back to the app.) Overall it’s the best transit app I have used and I’ve used a lot of them! I was so happy when I found this I really felt I was going places. Lol
