As a long term subscriber, why does your i-pad app page always appear as if I am a new subscriber and have to sign into me account?

I used to be able to access the digital copies with my print subscription - however, the new version does not authenticate properly and wants me to buy the digital versions, even though I have a print subscription! Whenever I try to log in with my subscriber number, I get an error message that I should try again later, and when I log in with my email address, the app doesn’t recognize me as subscriber. Not happy!

Follow the instructions in the new app to the letter - doesn’t work. Reach out to technical support and they require you to sign up for an account. I point out I don’t want an account - I subscribed through iTunes - but no - they want my email and me signed up to an account. Their own instructions to restore purchases don’t work. Feels like a bogus scam to get people signing up for accounts they don’t want and collecting personal information

I love Travel + Leisure magazine, however the new app, not so much. It has slowed down my iPad too much enough for me to loose interest. While I understand the concept of improving things, I feel this was an unnecessary app “improvement”.
This app allows you to download plain PDF-like versions of each issue. It is not as interactive as other magazine apps. This latest version doesn’t work properly on an iPhone at all. Terrible UX. I regret paying for the digital access. I will be asking for a refund.

I love this app for the articles and travel suggestions. The "top list" is my favorite. I wish it included commentary on the top properties. Maybe charge for the in-depth analysis with photos and destination recommendations.

I have found it easy to use and navigate. Up there with same high quality as the WSJ app for useability.
Both this and Food and Wine have gone way downhill under Time Inc. Time to cancel - the app does not recognize that I paid for a digital subscription in both cases.

Take a look at a Condé magazine app, and then try to take this one seriously. Not only has the print edition gone down in quality since its acquisition by Time, Inc., but the app is a drag. Slow, buggy, hard to read. Joyless. I'm out.

Used to be able to download digital subscription. App now asks me to pay for digital subscription.
Apparently, I'm no longer a subscriber. App won't allow me to download the latest issue, despite the fact that my print subscription doesn't expire for a year. Reached out to the app helpdesk but no response. Really sad that Amex sold this great magazine to a shoddy operation like Time Inc. Good luck. Won't be renewing.

Used to be a decent app. As a print subscriber, I can no longer download issues. App asks me to pay another $5.99 for something I've already paid for. Used to be a simple download button when signed into your account and a new issue came out. Same issues with Food & Wine magazine. Until they fix this, I would avoid this app completely. Also considering dropping my print subscription as a result. Very unhappy !

Being a long time subscriber of the physical magazine - which is awesome, it is very frustrating to see the poor job that has been done with this digital version.
To begin with, you have to be online to read it, which is against the ehole purpose of a magazine - to read whenever and wherever you want.
Secondly, it seems like a library of advertisements, there seem to be more of them than actual articles!
Third, you cant share articles, which is what most of us want to do when we read something interesting.
Fourth, one cannot add a bookmark or highlight a specific paragraph or even a page - only the full article. Also, you cant even organize them by topics,
Etc, etc, etc
If you are thinking of this app, look at the paper magazine, which will be much more useful

Update: App STILL does not work on iPhone; specifically, it does not work on the iPhone 6 plus. What faulty advertising! When the app description says, "now works on iPhone," don't believe it-it does not! 'Need to reimburse subscribers for iPhone (6 plus) for charging for subscriptions through this App that has not been working for a month now!
Will not load on iPhone 6 Plus. 'Says it is updating library; then, just loads a blank page. Also, there is no option in settings to restore previous purchases. App simply does not work on iPhone.

Interestingly, no matter how many email complaints I write or how many times I call, no one in this apps support structure can figure out that there is an issue with the app. But, when I periodically open the app to see if my "disappeared" issues have returned, a popup requests that I rate the app. Once again, I am giving one star because I can't give zero. The app and its cousin, Food and Wine, are broken. I can't download any digital versions since the May issue for either. I am a paid up subscriber with written documentation that I am entitled to free digital downloads. Guess this is what happens when Time Inc. gets its hands on you.
Doesn’t Recognize Print Subscriber 1/5
Like others are reporting the Travel + Leisure app does not recognize my digital account that I have as a print subscriber. I have quit/restarted the app and the iPad, logged out/back in, changed my password and logged in again using the new password but I am being asked to pay for issues. I have written to customer support for help but am still awaiting a reply although I am not hopeful based on comments here. Terrible app since other magazines seem to be able to get this functionality right.

If you are a print subscriber don't bother thinking you will be able to download your issues and read them here. It simply refuses to recognize print subscribers and customer support acts like you are from Mars and are trying to cheat them.

I have a digital subscription - frequent issues with downloads getting stuck. Recently the app opens but doesn't recognize my subscription and won't go past the sign on page.
A total rip off.
Possibly the worst app ever. It literally does not work. It keeps telling me to rotate my iPad. Absolutely awful. I hate to give it any stars, but 1 is the lowest option.

I just tried to subscribe to the magazine and kept getting an error. I had to call customer service. They were very nice, and got it done, but it was a pain. Why have a digital version or an app if you can't subscribe via iTunes /Newstand? That's the whole point of having a digital device in the first place. Once I actually have the magazine I'll post another review about how it actually works. Right now one star for poor execution just to subscribe

I had hoped reading T & L on my iPad would be just like flipping the pages of the magazine. Not so. You can flip from ad to ad, but getting to content is a pain. Don't like it.

I can't get the app to work. When I install it, it keeps showing the message "Connect to the iTunes Store..." I click OK, and the message reappears. I delete, reinstall, and the cycle starts over. I have deleted it for good. It's terrible. I am pretty sure the laudatory messages are self generaTED.

Very convenient to be able to view any issue whenever, wherever I want. Favorites option is better than a bookmark. Also like to see occasional updates to past issues. When will you be offering electronic subscription only option?
I love the magazine but the online edition has been impossible to access. Totally frustrating. I nave a paid subscription and it asks to pay each time I try to read an edition online. I am finished trying to use this. I easily read other other publications online but the road blocks for T&L are horrid.

Terrible app for a great magazine. It constantly tries to get me to re-purchase issues I have ALREADY PAID FOR, either through my print subscription, and then again through charges for individual issues. App treats you as a first-time user no matter how many times you have logged in. It tries to convince you to try the app, every time, and then re-buy the issue even when you are validly logged in as a subscriber. Shameless rip-off.
I have complained several times, and oh well. At least with the print version you only have to buy each issue only once.
The app developer should be publicly flogged for this.

This is a waste of time as it has to download each issue, 2 out of three pages are advertisements. I'd rather see a web version that doesn't download and skips the ads.

Once a subscriber logs in, one would think the banner ad offering 30 days free would go away. It doesn't. How hard could it be to have that disappear once a subscriber logs in?
