  • Best app for finding a rental 5/5

    By mkf3696
Honestly I never feel compelled to write reviews but this app is so comprehensive and all encompassing it entirely surpasses all other housing apps. So much extra data on houses, neighborhoods, features, opportunities to contact owners it’s absolutely through the roof. Used it compared to Zillow and and it’s by far the best to know EXACTLY what you’re renting ESPECIALLY if you’re moving far away from where you’re currently located.

Wow! I’ve been searching for homes all wrong with Zillow and Realtor apps. Just began using this after 2 years of home searching and I’m blown away. See crime reports, school ratings, and far more user friendly. So glad I stumbled upon this app and can’t wait for my big move out to Denver!

This is getting ridiculous I’m tying to move out you guys don’t give any contact info whatsoever to be able to contact these potential people and then I have to wait until they respond back to me which is never and then a place I’m interested in is already off the market before given a chance

I be been using this app for about 2 years for 3 different moves! I love using the trulia app because it’s so easy to use and extremely helpful when finding a place. I always recommend it to anyone looking for a place! I do have a suggestion though. On the filers where you can select how many bedrooms your looking for, could you change it from “1+” to just 1 and so on with all the others? It just doesn’t make any sense. No matter if I choose “1+” 3 and 4 bedrooms still show up, so I might as well leave the filter on “any.” If I’m only looking for a 1 bedroom apartment why would I be looking for “1+”? I think it’s make more sense if the filters were just “1, 2, 3, 4, 5+” bedrooms. Just a suggestion, I still LOVE your app!
  • Very helpful 5/5

    By Esmeralda Vega
It was very helpful and it gave many details about the rentals. It also had a great 3D image of the earth itself and showed many results.
  • Handy, Easy to Use, and Mildly Annoying 4/5

    By SimSamara
I keep this app on my phone alongside a slew of other rental-search apps (as I search for an apartment), and I have found Trulia to excel in some ways and fall short in others, comparatively. Trulia excels at showing me relevant results based on my search terms, but it falls short when it comes to its filter options; One specific (nitpicky) complaint I have is that you cannot filter results to show only studios -- the options are "Any," "1+," "2+," and so on. So, as someone who wants to search very narrowly and then save multiple different narrowly refined searches (Trulia does let you save searches, but more on that in a minute), I find this lack of ability to specify "Studio only" or "1 bed only," or even "1 bed or fewer," to be a bit irritating. The largest problem with Trulia's filter options, though, are actually probably more the fault of their property listers than of their own. A couple more things Trulia allows you to filter results by are amenities, keywords, and price...and oh my gosh, something needs to be fixed before these features can be even mildly useful. First of all, the vast majority of the time, checking any of the amenities boxes has only caused my search to return zero results, since most of the property listers don't bother to accurately include the features in the amenities section, and instead just write about them in the description. So, I could choose to filter by the amenities "stove" and "refrigerator" and be returned zero results, even though all of the listings in the area include both of those, simply because the property managers don't seem inclined or pressured to mention them in the appropriate section. Along the same line, the keywords filter has basically been unhelpful to me for many of the same reasons. But the pricing filter is the worst offender because many properties get away with listing $0 for their cheapest unit in order to gain the system and show up on top of the search results, so that it'll bring up something like "$0 - $1365," indicating that a studio is "$0 - $1050" and a 1 bed is "$1250 - $1365," despite the fact that the studio is obviously not priced closer to the $0 than the $1050, and it may not even be available for another 10 months or something ridiculous. Finally, still on the topic of filters and searches, you can save searches to have the app automatically email you matching properties, but it does a pretty bad job, often delivering results that clearly omit one or more of your at-this-point-already-severely-limited-and-so-fairly-crucial search criteria; For example, a saved search filtering only by minimum and maximum price, allows cats, and location could give me two or more emails per day that show me rentals that don't allow pets. It's just asinine. All that ranting aside, don't dismiss Trulia out of hand if you are searching for a new rental. It does have some incredibly useful features that do their best to make up for the poorly implemented ones, and I keep it on my phone for a reason. Every property search app is going to have some strengths and some weaknesses, and I've found that it takes the whole collection (and a lot of diligence) to fill in all of the gaps for a well-rounded listings pool. Give Trulia a try, or don't. Good luck!
  • Won’t use anything else when looking 5/5

This app has always been my go to when looking for a new place for myself and others. I currently found an amazing place near work and just so happens the owner also works for my company. I love this app.

    By Bubbles1498
I really do love this app, I just wish there was a feature where I could filter out the listings that say “room for rent” because Im looking for a while apartment to myself.
  • Useless 1/5

    By RayofLight79
This app is useless since the contact property manager feature doesn’t work. I hear back from listings on Craigslist and Zillow. I never hear back from any of the Trulia listings I’ve contacted. I could be missing out on my dream home and the property manager could be missing out on a great tenant. ZERO stars!!!!😡😡😡

Changed phones, got a new number and updated my phone and applied to a few places. For some reason my old phone number continues to overwrite my new one, despite continuously updating. How about some QA?
  • It’s great to see my options 5/5

Fav apartment app. I love the crime reports
  • Horrible App! 1/5

    By Iabrdrive1
I’ve never written a review or rated any app before but this app is so terrible and buggy!!! I tried to post a room multiple times in three days in a row but every time something went wrong with the app. First, it would not let me use my registered email and password. The only way to log in was through Facebook. Then it would not send me the verification code via text. Only a call! The verification code would not work! I had to give it another phone number. The process of adding pictures is from the Stone Age. No HTML code in the ad! So no boldfaced font, no paragraphs, not even a double spaced line! Once the ad was posted, it disregarded all my settings and displayed all the defaults. Lastly, don’t even bother editing the post... It crashed every time. Oh, and don’t ever try to go to the previous page as you set up your post! You gotta start all over from the very beginning again. A 10 year old can make a better app
  • Love it 5/5

    Loving it
  • My Go-To App 5/5

    By RoxannRenee
This is definitely my go-to app for rental and buying homes. It has the most robust info when it comes to crime and school details out there. Even if I look up info from other sites, I always come back to Trulia app for further details. The only improvement I recommend is the ability to view how far the nearest train stations may be for public trans. If there was that feature, there would be no need to use anything else. Thanks!!
  • Screen Freeze 3/5

    By GracieLyn Surfer Girl
Searching for rental. Within a few minutes opened first site to check rental and click availability button. Screen froze. I cannot exit the screen. I hope they can fix this error. The site seem d easier to navigate and it shows your desired location and available rentals in area. Seemed responsive to zooming in and out.
  • Wish it had more listings 4/5

    By Breannanana133
Not really the apps fault but I wish there was more listings. I love the crime option
  • Crashes and buggy 2/5

    By Rbar321
Draw feature showed no results, inaccurate. Crashes every about 10 minutes
  • Crash heavy 2/5

    By JMM1969
The app is alright. I would just love a way to weed out or flag renters that showcase a home for individual rooms to college students. This often isn’t labeled under sublet or rooms for rent. And this adds to a ton of wasted time sifting through people only interested in cashing in on college housing. Also another issue is how often the website and app crash. When using the map or simply flicking down the listings trying to find that renter not wasting my time mislabeling their posts for college students I often have the app freeze, become non responsive and close making me lose my place and thus making Zillow a far less frustrating option to use just. They still have the lack of students housing exclusion options but at least its never crashed and forgotten the ads I’ve already seen.
  • Can’t log in? 1/5

    By sba432
Can’t log in through the app without logging in through Facebook. I don’t have Facebook and why should I need to do that even if I did?
  • Maybe make it more user friendly !! 3/5

    By dhayz313
I want to love this app, I really do but it’s annoying. When I want to see only homes in a specific school zone, it wont show it to me as a list that I can scroll up & down on. Instead, I can only look when its showing the map, but when you zoom into the map outline, the school zone disappears and I have to re-search all over again. On top of that, there’s no way (unless I haven’t figured it out yet lol) to move the list (that weirdly doesn’t match the houses I tap, which is pointless) that’s on the right to make the map bigger. I just want a more user-friendly app. It starts to frustrate me and then I just go to Zillow 🤷🏽‍♀️
  • Terribly designed app 1/5

    By qevolveq
    1) no ability to hide listings I’m not interested in 2) when I close the app and Re-open, every property shows up in green again (rather than grayed out so that I can see which listings I’ve viewed already) 3) total waste of time, Zillow much better and has most of the same properties already
  • Website 1/5

    By Palmtrees4nana
Every time I try to check availability it tells me missing parameter and I can’t send a message
  • Perfect 5/5

    By Barramansa480
    I love this app
  • Two thumbs down 1/5

    By Hf234
Every time I try to search for rentals, t says “nothing matches your search” when I can plainly see little green dots indicating rentals that match my searches
  • No response 3/5

    By Wireman134
I’ve had this app over a week and tried to contact well over a dozen people/agencies and so far only two people have gotten back to me. On top of that one person told me that an apartment wasn’t available to show yet and 3 days later it was rented. Good luck getting someone to respond to your requests, this app is very frustrating.
  • STILL unable to delete Alerts 1/5

    By SrDev2018
I used this app for a while, but the most annoying issue (after a research) is that this same feature is still existing since 2008 - and yet every app for homes/rentals/etc knows that if a user selects a home that if a user has selected a property to “heart”, view, or receive an alert for - THERE SHOULD BE A “SWIPE LEFT > TO DELETE THE ALERT” especially since half the time the app creates the Alert for the user automatically - such a simple feature that is being used by every other company is a competitive nightmare within this app. There’s always room to upgrade BUT AT LEAST IT THE BASIC FUNCTIONALITIES LIKE THIS WORKING - FIRST!!!! Hint: to whoever you unfortunately hired to build this - IF you give the option to ADD/TURN ON > THERE MUST ALWAYS be an option to DELETE/TURN OFF!!!!!
  • List when available 3/5

    By Tonya_88
I’ve contacted over 10 homes which appear available but aren’t until June. It’s APRIL!!!! Wish they would put that on the listing
  • Filter change 5/5

    By dearchandu
As you are already having great school ratings, you could have put that as one among filter items for people like me to check properties with good rating schools only. Thanks
  • Frustrated 1/5

    By MamaDjoy4
It’s frustrating to look for homes, we are finding nothing in our price.
  • Problems with your filter 1/5

    By pambj1
It appears that you constantly ignore my request for homes in the area of Vista California in the price range of maximum $2000. You keep sending me homes that are much higher and all the way from El Cajon to San Diego and San Clemente extremely annoying!
  • Good app but... 3/5

    By YourBlackFriend
I really enjoy this app but, personally, had a really bad experience with a landlord inexplicably not wanting to rent for me. I’m not the biggest fan of real estate companies , but at least there’s a greater sense of equal opportunity (if you have the money). Beware crazy landlords!
  • I do not wish to receive alerts in California 1/5

    By Junkgame
My interest is only in San Antonio, TX, but you are sending me rentals from everywhere in USA. ALSO YOUR WEBSITE KEEP ON KICKING ME OUT, AND YOU HAVE TO GO BACK! That makes me not to enjoy TRULIA!
  • 👍 5/5

    By DonWonHobbit
Professional and easy to use app
  • Unreliable source 1/5

    By Buffsuki_fan
This app is keeping outdated information and rentals that are already occupied. Terrible.
