Turo is a cool app. However, they have an extremely poor support team and internal communication system. If you get a car without issues, everything is okay, but when you run into any issues (I ran into twice), they can never resolve the issues and they blame everything on the renter. For example, one time, the renter before me got a parking ticket, without checking, they charged me instead of the renter before me. This is SHADY.

I have tried booking a trip multiple times and the trip keeps getting canceled. I have ensured my information is verified and have tried booking on different dates. Customer support will not respond to emails. I tried calling and was extremely patient, they hung up on me after putting me on hold for a while. I’ve worked in customer service before so I know that mistakes are made and it should be expected from time to time, but after multiple attempts at reaching out to them, I can’t really waste my time anymore. I’m really hoping someone will take responsibility of the issue and help me resolve this issue because I really like the idea of this company and would like to be able to say that it actually works.
The worst and most useless app ever 1/5
1st time. Been asked to deposit 500 dollars because the fraud owner of the car says there is a scratch under his car (yes, under!). Been told to write reports many times and even after I did the supreme insurance through turo I have been asked for my personal insurance info. I paid around 60 dollars for the cheapest value car with insurance with which you can rent easily in a legit renting company and avoid the hassle. DO NOT USE TURO!

This app is a great idea but one complaint I have is a lot of the cars say you must be 25+ or 30+ years old to rent. The problem with that is it doesn’t say it clearly so you have to go through every post and look through it just to find out you can’t rent the car. It would be great if you can add a filter option where you can only see cars that you can rent if your under 25. Thanks
Unsafe car and terrible customer service 1/5
I had a bad experience with my first rental (second rental was great) and I was in communication with customer service about the experience. They told me they would get back to me regarding a refund when they got more info, then closed my ticket. I really wanted to like this app (I use Airbnb all the time and have had great experiences with them), but this was pretty bad.

I do like turo for the connivence. But I don’t like the fact that there is always some new charges added to the trip with no explanation. It makes me think their doing it on purpose and trying to scam the customers out of extra money. Then when you call turo you never get a direct answer as to why this is happening.

It is much cheaper and easy to rent vehicles by using Turo.
The only way I’ve been able to find and rent a car using this service is by using my browser. When I pull up the app no matter what location I use it says there are no cars in the area even though there are plenty of cars on the website.

What a discrimination 1/5
I’m a young woman and I travel with a service dog. I was left and rejected by more than 3 driver. It’s not the first time that Lyft driver did that, but this time it was to much for me. It’s been 13*F outside and I had 2 suitcases to carry. They all arrived, saw me and canceled the ride, right in front of me. This is very discriminating.

This app seems great. You can usually find a car for significantly cheaper than a true rental car, however, be sure to read the terms and conditions/FAQ VERY CLOSELY otherwise you will be charged 2-3x the cost of the car for different random fees. Late fees are $50/hour, for example. My trip was $140, after which I was auto-charged an additional $190 for a little dog hair in the backseat. You’ve been warned. Stick to the legitimate rental companies.
This app is revolutionary and very easy to use. Everything worked out and I had a great time. This will be my companion for vacations and special events. Thank you Turo.

Okay things were fine when I downloaded the turo app and I rented my first vehicle from a Host in my city. When I drove off in the vehicle the TPMS Sensor light was on the dash board I thought it was strange and not normal. Later on once I gas up the vehicle plus completed my trip I wrote to customer service about the issue with low tire pressure sensor on the host vehicle. The host became aware of this issue I experienced in her vehicle and she immediately wrote me bad 3 star review in retaliation. Recently I tried to plan two more trips but I received cancellations because of the 3 star review the previous host has left on my profile. I didn’t know that when a guest like myself report any maintenance issue with host vehicle and the host will take revenge with an issue he/she is responsible to fix in the first place. Now I am black balled and every trip I try to schedule another host will cancel immediately.

Didn’t think it was legit the first time I tried it but it was rented a nice car for a special occasion. I’d have to tell you the experience and customer care/service was absolutely amazing I’d rather use Turo then any other car rental place definitely will be using Turo a lot more A+++
Card system is severely flawed!!! 1/5
I went to book my first trip with Turo, a concert in Lincoln, NE. Everything was going well, until I went to enter my card info. I’m with Bank of America, and tried to link my bank’s debit card to the account. Having seen someone else do it, I figured I could. It kept on throwing me the flag saying “We don’t accept prepaid cards”. Tried it 3 times, all with the same result. Until this issue is fixed, I’m gonna recommend people steer FAR away from this app.

Dave Ramsey had mentioned them so I got the app. $22 a day was the quote so I went to check out. They add FEES!!! The final quote ended up being $100 higher than Budget!!! Plus limited milage . I’m soooooo disappointed!

I wasted my time looking through cars and planning around turo only to find out I was ineligible to rent a car through them last minute which was very inconvenient. They should set it up so that it tells you you’re ineligible before you plan your trip around it.

Turo is not a reliable company, it does not take responsibility for damages caused by customers and they look for details in the contract to abstain from the payment of damages caused. I do not recommend it to anyone, they put my life and safety at risk making delivery my vehicle to a criminal car thief, I do not recommend it, its very dangerous work with Turo, they give my phone, my adress and my car to a criminal, my car now it’s damage and full of drugs and trash, worst deal of world work with Turo 👎👎👎

Worst service I’ve ever received 1/5
I was waiting for them to approve me so I’d be able to book a car and I have a spotless driving record. After 2 weeks I’ve been in contact with 4 agents, they told me my case has been prioritized with their trust and safety department , but gave me no estimate on how long it would take. Now I’m on week 3 and still no approval. My issue was never fixed and their customer service is just disgusting all they do is diffuse you and leave the problem alone .

If you want to use it then go ahead. I do hope you’ll have a better experience then I did. I tried using their services twice and no luck. First time I booked a vehicle, got to the pickup site and the owner of the vehicle didn’t even live there anymore, and the car I reserved he didn’t own anymore. Apparently the owner said he cancelled his Turo account years ago. Then the second time which is today as I’m writing this Jan 19, 2019. Tried to give them a second chance I booked another vehicle, arrived at the pick up site message the owner of the vehicle I’m outside his place then received a message saying the trip has been canceled by the owner. I’ve been messaging the owner a day before the pickup date to make sure everything is a go. Well it wasn’t. I called Turo about both problems. First time they refunded me back my money then credit my account and offered to rebook me a vehicle. The second time they offered to rebook me, refund me and send me a check in the mail to reimburse me the money for the uber ride I had to take back home. Im not saying don’t use the app cause maybe you’ll like it but I’m definitely saying DONT USE THIS APP cause I won’t you experience what I have but again it’s your choice and I wish you luck.

Host misled and Turo did nothing when I felt unsafe- renting with them is dangerous 1/5
I rented a car well in advance, had a stellar rating on the app, never had a problem with a host until a recent trip to Dallas.
The host misled me with a description and messaging that didn’t line up with what they provided and I felt unsafe taking their vehicle for fear that they would try to claim some sort of hoax in damage or any number of things. The host screamed at me and told me to tell turo to cancel the reservation when I questioned them on misleading me. I said okay and went to hertz..I called Turo no less than 35 times, emailed them, left messages, tried to talk to someone willing to be of any service and their support staff told me a dozen times at least that my money was gone and they didn’t care that I was never able to get the car in a safe environment.
I felt so horribly wronged with this experience but after so many contentious phone calls with Turo, I called American Express and their legal team took over and immediately gave me my money back.
It took Amex all of 30 minutes to deduce that Turo was a terrible organization and that I should avoid using their service again (they also said they’d flag Turo for issues in the future with other cardholders.) I filed a better business bureau report where I found hundreds of other people had a similar experience.
Moral of the story..do not use Turo, it’s a massive liability if a host is shady and the Turo support team is the worst of the worst.
