It could be better 5/5
It would be better if you can read all of the manga for free and a good way of making money would be to have Merch
Thanks viz for a good service, which is quite rare these days. Honestly the change from wsj to the current state of things seems to be for the better. I love having access to 1000's of manga chapters ready to go.
Theres some things that could be added as nice features. Like a option to add titles to a quick access currently reading library (if you have this im not aware of it)
Add like i wish list and favorite list 3/5
I love this app but like make it more manga equipped, Add favorite list or continuing manga list. Just to make the app easier like manga rock. Can you plz do that🙏🙏
Great reading app, with a wide selection of the publishers books 5/5
The app has improved over the years and I enjoy being able to support the creators and translators.
My man 5/5
You want to read manga? Then here you go!
I love the my hero academia books
Slow on iPad 2/5
The quality is great! 3/5
Yes, the quality and experience are amazing but I have problems just with how “this” free app earns money they make you but each chapter, a full manga or saying to become a member for a monthly fee just to read manga! For that, I would just buy the manga I want and not spend that much. If you have enough money I definitely recommend this app but I personally as a student don’t.
Good app 4/5
By Night Demon 25
I wish this app had free manga instead of having to purchase it but I wish I didn’t have to read only the free chapters
I wish that they offered details on when you purchase 4/5
I’m not sure how many volumes I’ve bought this week and it’s not gonna come out of my money for a while due to iOS billing. Like for one iOS should just charge you when you do the thing. However for two I wish viz provided a section to tell me when I purchased each volume.
Add the missing manga chapters of demon slayer 5/5
This is a great app and all it needs is to add some of the chapters in the manga
The App is missing Manga 1/5
The app advertises having “the entire VIZ digital catalog” but it’s missing stuff like Fire Punch despite it being on their website.
Great app 5/5
Everything is optimized very well. Though I’d like the ability to delete multiple to be present
good app but it has issues 5/5
it's missing some key features that almost every other (free) manga apps on the app store do have. such as a list of chapters you've already read, and a favorites list/library. it's also pretty buggy. the app crashes every time i finish a chapter of a manga. sometimes it says i finished off mid chapter when i open it again. besides those issues it's a great app and the membership seems to be worth it. hopefully these issues are solved soon
Worth it to read My Hero Academia 3/5
By Wannabe Seras
It’s worth it if you’re into more current titles. I love being able to read MHA on the go. However, it doesn’t make sense to me that I’m paying monthly for the app yet I can only read series divided into “chapters”. I have to pay to read the series that are only in volumes. It doesn’t make sense to me. If I have a paid membership, I should be able to unlock everything. Please change it to make pricing more fair. I don’t want to pay $2 for the app then have to pay $7 for a volume only manga.
Good, but Search features need a ton of work 3/5
2$ a month for Shonen Jump is a steal and the prices are great all around with a large selection of titles to choose from. However there are no genre sections, the authors names seem to be absent from certain titles (Why does searching Akira Toriyama not bring up Dr. Slump?),and a few larger titles (I.E the works of Rumiko Takahashi) are glaringly absent. That being said,it serves it's purpose of letting me read Viz Owned manga quite well so I can't complain. No frills but it works well enough.
MISSING IMAGE 1/5
It’s great that there’s some manga I can read after I pay my 1.99 but I can’t read a large majority of what I downloaded the app for. It’ll just tell me to buy the manga for like 6 dollars but if that’s the case I might as well buy physical cause I like to keep a collection on my book shelves.
Good, but improvement is good! 3/5
Lots of free chapters of popular manga that are updated regularly. It’s great to support the mangaka! A wide selection of genres to choose from and even so older titles - Absolute Boyfriend, Alice 19th, etc. Ties in with the Shounen Jump app pretty well. I haven’t purchased any manga yet, so I can’t say about prices yet. Manga is good and full of the artist’s blood, sweat, and tears; it’s worth the cost.
- Inadequate search: I’d like to be able to search based on genre, not just author/title. What if you only want to see the shoujo/jousei options? I don’t want to have to scroll through everything.
- Bookmarking: There doesn’t seem to be a way to tag which series you’re reading or where you left off somewhere.
These are two key features that mainly keep me from using the app. I hate to say it, but the Mangareader app UI and tools are far more user-friendly than this app. I am suggesting to maybe apply those features to this app in order to make it more appealing.
I can enjoy my manga without to buy a physical copy.
SO HAPPY!!! 5/5
IM SO HAPPY!! Reading my favorite mangas bring such a nostalgic feeling!! And only $2 for subscription??? AWSOME!!
Best manga app better 5/5
Love it, love it ,love it
I am currently reading demon slayer and it is a fantastic manga. However, with this app I it automatically jumps to chapter 139 instead of continuing to chapter 52. I am very disappointed and do understand why a big skip. Not worth it.
Keeps missing pages 1/5
It keeps crashing and taking to long to load
In need of serious improvements 2/5
There’s hardly any reason to use this app, the lack of features are surprising & it’s membership doesn’t give you much more.
Really need a better app with more features. Also it’s such a annoying process to get back to where you left off considering the bookmark feature doesn’t work.
One thing that I am surprised isn't already included. 4/5
By Conor Barnes
I love this app very much, it has given me a lot to read that I love, but would it not be good to let users subscribe to certain manga and get alerts when the next chapter is published in-app?
great app 5/5
i just started reading the one piece manga on viz because i finished the anime up to the section i could get up to, now just have to wait until july for it to release wano arc episodes :) i haven’t really dug into this app fully, but from what i’ve done so far it’s perfect for reading english dubs of manga. super cheap for a monthly membership and it’s got easy UI.
I paid for a subscription and still can’t read anything 2/5
Paid for the subscription but still cant read certain free manga. Sometimes it works and I’ll begin reading it then randomly it’ll go black and kick me out then will only show the most recent chapter. This happens often. The app is glitchy, you can book mark the free manga series so you can find it quicker. Lots of problems. Please fix!
One of the greatest apps. Ever.
Thanks for this It really helps me a lot I have a really happy time reading this one only wish you didn’t have to pay issue really change it because it gets you must review but overall
Problems with app 3/5
By Irakli Mataradze
I have joined shounen jump subscription and i use it as normally, but when i made a reset of my phone and logged in Viz acc,it shows me that i am not member of it,so it’s equal that i am paying for feature that isn’t available, so please help
I like this app. 5/5
This is a good app for reading manga, I like how you can read each manga. The new layout is awesome. If your looking for a way to read manga you have found a great place to do so. I highly recommend this to any new time readers or anyone looking for a new manga to read.
You guys have the best mangas but... 5/5
For someone that has an account, I wish I can be able to add some of the titles to some sort of library or queue so I can go straight to it
Great selection! 5/5
Worth it 5/5
Very cool and nice price
Lol I’m a premium member so:穴は穴は穴はガハハな腹なら他ならナタラタならたなラタなら赤らあから
Good app 5/5
For only 2 dollars a month you get more manga than the shonen jump app I give this 5 stars because it’s a good deal
it's a very good app but... 3/5
I wish you could add an option to select how to turn the page ..
such as real book page turn and other .
Thank you .
Has all manga licensed by Viz
Love it 5/5
Dont need to say anything more i love it
Great app!!! Recommended for Shonen Jump fans 5/5
Great App! 5/5
Great privileges for users without a paid monthly subscription to VIZ. I especially love that I can view the latest 3-4 chapters of One Piece for free/without a subscription.
Great but Missing Quality of Life Features 3/5
Pages load well if you have decent WiFi or reception, everything looks good and it is nice to support the authors/artists I enjoy! The real bummer about this ap is the lack of bookmarking, no ability to make a favorites or tbr list, and no reading location sync across devices. Every time I switch from one device to the other I have to cross reference what I was reading and what chapter I was on. Sometimes I even have to do that within one device if I restart. Hard not to compare it with scanlation services with great library and sync support. Really frustrating in what is otherwise a great ap.
User Experience! 5/5
I just want to let Viz Media, or whoever is in charge — especially the user face developers and the others who have a hand in making reading the material(s) online super easy and enjoyable — know that I greatly appreciate how simple and inexpensive it is to read the content the company provides on their website and app! Thank you!
Fixed most of my problems! 4/5
By Daaaatttt bbbooooiiii
When I first reviewed this app it was sluggish, hard to navigate, and it didn’t remember what you were reading. That’s all fixed now!
It’s still not perfect, I imagine it’d still be a bit difficult for new subscribers to tell what they get for free and what they’d have to pay for.
The subscription is an absolute steal at $2 with this serviceable app, I highly recommend it. 4.5/5 stars.
Legal, accessible, and streamlined! 5/5
By mari chan san
I’ve been using this app for a few years now, and I’m really impressed with the way it’s been improved over time—it used to take a long time to load after the revamp with the simulpubs for Shonen Jump becoming free, but now it’s much faster. It’s my preferred way to read manga, thanks to the seamless way I can turn my phone or iPad to landscape mode and stitch two pages together. My only suggestion would be to have some mature content available online also on mobile, through the native parental controls filter on the device, like how some shows on streaming apps get filtered off or on through that way. Totally understand if it can’t work that way though, it’s not a dealbreaker by any means because I’m still getting access to FREE, LEGAL manga that officially supports the creators!
Nice concept, but... 3/5
I’ve been subscribed to JUMP since before it went digital. I really like that it’s switched to more of a subscribed digital library service than a magazine.
HOWEVER there are some issues. It’s cool because this is a recent change and it can’t be helped.
The app is supper finicky and loads slow. I usually have to spend more time getting a chapter to download or open that it takes to actually read the chapter.
It’d be nice if tracked what chapters you’ve read
And I really wish I could mark the manga I’m currently reading, then get notifications when they update.
