I regret ever buying this television. Will never buy vizio again.
My television told me I needed to purchase a new remote. The one it came with stopped working. Only I can’t get the notice to disappear because I don’t have a down arrow (or a working remote...)
This app is supposed to work as a remote, but it isn’t very intuitive to use. So looks like I’ll be buying a new remote if I want to continue to watch television.

I’ve had to reconnect more times than I’ve actually gotten to just use it when I need it.
Doesn’t even deserve the one star I gave it. I’m a software engineer and to the makers of this app, my god are you bad at your jobs. The app works maybe one in every 200 times I use it. Vizio, hire better developers and actually make a good product mkay?
I really can’t express in words enough just how awful this app is. It never ever works. I built a proof of concept app that works better, is less confusing, and looks nicer in two days. Never buying a vizio product ever again and I’ll recommend all others don’t either.
What take away compatibility with older TVs? Never will I buy a vizio product again

This has got to be hands down worse app ever! Half the time it doesn’t connect to my tv and when it does, the buttons won’t even let me click them. Completely pointless! Basically now I have a nice big square in front of my wall since I can’t use the dumb tv without this terrible app! Pray the remote I just ordered actually works! This app is so bad, I’m actually leaving a review.

This app is not to control your Vizio smart tv. How frustrating!! I wanted a control for the tv and instead this app has content for which you have to sign up and sign in to. So I can’t watch what i already have access to in my tv. My dog chewed my remote and Best Buy doesn’t carry it so I have to order one from Vizio. Can’t watch tv for days.
Poor design, poor implementation 1/5
A disaster. Sometimes the TV doesn’t appear in the devices. When it does you turn it on (actually your “search” for it). The TV turns on but the app considers it off. Close and restart the app and there it is. Sometimes the remote control in the app is not usable. Amazon prime is available on my TV, but it’s not an app in the SmartCast app! It’s crazy to think there’s a team who implemented this and someone sign it off.

App worked perfect when I bought my tv. Then Vizio updated it a year ago and the app has been garbage ever since. Terrible app and it seems like the company just doesn’t care.
First review on the App Store for me. Update has made app worthless. Trackpad is gone SmartCast does not work. Fix your product, don’t become a Walmart clearance isle item.

It will tell you everything you need to know. Every update has a dozen fixes because each version gets released with a bunch of bugs. Just keep in mind that what works today may not work tomorrow unlike your conventional remote control. Don't lose the crappy one that came with the TV. I've had to resort to it a few times. I would suggest that if you ever get the app working to your satisfaction, never update it again.

You at “required” to enter your email address for an “emergency alert” and then you get spammed. The emergency alert comes up every time you open the app. Once you get into the app, each time you push a button it makes an emergency alert. What a waste. Just buy a new remote on amazon!!

I keep searching and it says on forums that Smart Cast added it in 2017 but cannot figure out how to cast it from my phone to my TV, annoying, so now all I can watch is Netflix

Please fix this, it was fine before the update, now my app won’t connect to the tv and the tv won’t connect to my WiFi.

This app forces your devices to update whenever there is a software update. It killed two of my $200 WiFi speakers today. The no longer can be connected via WiFi. There is no solution. Vizio just pushes crappy updates without any data validation and destroys your devices. Do not ever buy any of their garbage products. I am beyond mad.

This app takes FOREVER to connect to my TV. Usually, I just end up casting to my Apple TV because it connects to my phon INSTANTLY, the moment I walk in the door. I can’t get YouTube to cast without waiting 5-10 minutes, Netflix same thing, THIS VIZIO APP, same thing. Please vizio, improve the casting/connecting speed. I want to fully utilize my TV, not struggle to get anything to cast to it! Please improve this app!

This app is terrible I have the fastest internet Comcast has and my tv is never connected to my phone. It literally hasn't worked in weeks. I have a 70 inch tv with a broken app.
I will never buy a tv that requires this app again this is trash I spent $1300 on this scam.
Update 5/12/18: still horrible. I will never spend a dollar on vizio again. This stupid app is by far the worst thing on my phone. It literally works once a week. Cannot even put a timer on the tv because I can never connect my phone.
Unless you enjoy setting up your vizio device every time you want to use the app, don’t bother wasting your time. I added my tv and sound system (again) yesterday and the app automatically adjusted my tv settings. I didn’t want to play with it at the time and now I’m paying for it. It’s dark and the tv brightness is a bit much. I open the app to adjust the settings and my devices are not listed. Junk. It’s a shame I spent so much money on the equipment, but I can say this is the last time I spend money on a Vizio product ever again.

I thought this app would be a perfect companion to my newest Vizio TV (I own 3). But.... nope. When it works, it’s in and out....iffy. When it doesn’t operate properly (which is most of the time) it’s frustrating to say the least. I’ll be deleting this app until further developments/updates....if they update. 🤔

After my roommate moved out, I lifted his TV from storage. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the remote. I was hoping this app would solve that problem. Nope. It couldn’t even find the TV. I guess the volume will be on the low side. I can’t put the TV back in storage because he will know that it was me that swiped it.

Every time I wake up....in order for me to turn on my TV I have to sign in and connect my iPhone to my network. Really?? The remote control doesn’t even work. I don’t know how many accounts I have created. Is like I have to registered every time I turn on the TV. Probably the 30% of the time will work and the 70% won’t work. I have one of the first TV when vizio was starting, I still have it. I have had great experience with Vizio, for that reason I bought this brand because they are very good tv. But this form of using your smart tv isn’t smart! YOU NEED TO UPDATE AND FIX THESE ISSUES!!

I set up my soundbar with the app a while ago. It won’t connect anymore and now I’m stuck with my settings which I don’t like. This is EXTREMELY frustrating. The app has been terrible off and on for the past couple of years. Stay AWAY

After many updates the app only gets worse. I have to keep unplugging my TV just to get it to reconnect and then use the cast feature. I don’t care about all the other features but at a minimum I should be able to cast without having to reconnect to my TV every single time. Horrible!!

Easy installation. It found my TV right away and all functions worked well including Chromcast. I'm using it on a new 2018 E-50 F2. Love the ability to change settings and project videos to my TV. And I like being able to browse all the content as well.

That’s terrible. The app won’t allow me to type nor the tv remote would allow me to write in upper case letters to sign in to Amazon Prime. Amazon also doesn’t have chromecast. I mean come on guys. Please fix this issue, otherwise I’m gonna return your tv to Costco if you don’t come up with a solution

I can’t get it to work for me anymore. None of the phone I use this app with will even turn the thing on anymore. If I wanted to get up every time I had to change tv settings I would have bought a floor model. Please fix this issue.
Sometimes the app works and sometimes only partial functions work. I’ve been having a tough time using the remote feature because sometimes when I put it on cast mode it doesn’t work at all, which is a bummer since the remote that came with the tv doesn’t work also.

What it needs is... well how do I explain? It’s something where u put your earbuds in ur phone,tablet or whatever you use you insert it in your phone and then when ever you have your ear buds connected y can hear what u put on like keys says I connect YouTube in the Tv and I have my earbuds on I can hear nothing because I can only hear from the regular volumes . I would like that u would be able to also hear in your earbuds so u can hear while others don’t ! If you guys add that it would be amazing !! But other than that it’s really good . My phone automatically connects to my WiFi when ever I get home and all I have to do is either go to the app and turn it on or go to YouTube and put that coner thing that you use to connect it ! So I love the app !
