Vrbo should really work on availablity! I booked a house twice they were both cancelled by the owners saying they were not available! I had 2 days before my vacation to find something else. It would be helpful if the owner would respond in a timely manor, and Vrbo to have the correct information about the properties! Complete waste of time

I booked a property on Arlington pond with property manager Celeste Demonaco for summer of 2021. There was a no return cancellation. I got a call from the owner saying the week I booked and paid for was no longer going to be available. I asked why, and was told they were going to rent it to someone for a longer time. I would lose the full weeks amount if I canceled but the owner can cancel without an issue! So not right! Very disappointed 😡

There is no customer service using this app. I was having technical issues trying to book a place using the app and the website. I tried multiple times to complete a booking a got an error message, so obviously thought it did not work. After trying a 4th time, it said the place was no longer available for the dates I needed it. So I then tried to book another place, it AGAIN gave me an error message. But when I looked in my email the next morning I had emails saying BOTH places were booked. But it’s too late to cancel for a full refund, so I am out $1800. Use Air B and B!!!!!

As of a day or so ago the properties fail to load. Instead, an “oops, care to try again” message appears.
I can find and filter lists of properties, but I can’t load the details for any single property.

I booked a house in Sarasota though them and I had the worst experience and we left the next day I called customer service explained the dirty house and other issues we had I was told they can’t help me with that even I lost my money caz I left before the time I paid for still they didn’t care they even said this is a new listing but this listing was there since 2017 there is much better websites that u can book ur vacation with and they have a great customer service that they will support u if u have an issue

I work in the film industry and we often travel for work. We are given a housing allowance and can choose to stay in a hotel provided by the production company or take our money and find something else. Due to the pandemic most of us are choosing private housing. I was having issues with some of the other apps and somebody suggested Vrbo. I have found three listings, different areas and pricing WITH THE EXACT SAME PHOTOS. I can no longer trust the listings on this app. There are over 50 shows bring in hundreds of crew to the area and I will tell my coworkers to be wary of this app. Not cool.
Years back when I rented with VRBO you paid the price listed. Now they have added huge fees to their rentals. I would rather deal with the owners directly then having to pay all this extra cost.

When a host lies about the availability of a house there is no way to report or rate this. Waiting 24 hours for the request for booking to expire. Haley lied to us and made us wait. If she did not want to rent to us because we have dogs don’t list dogs are allowed. What else is she going to lie about!

Booked from Vrbo 3 times and each time had some type of issue with billing and payment. Since they don’t have any customer support you are at the mercy of the renters. This last time the renter was charging a $300 cleaning fee on a $299 rental. THEN the renter said I needed to send a picture of my credit card, drivers license and then of myself holding both! If you agree to this you’re asking to be scammed. The renters phone showed on my credit card charge and called them to dispute which they finally agreed to credit me back the charges. This is nuts. I’ll find another place to rent homes.

It sent me an email reminding me to pay my account rental balance by tomorrow and provided a link button to pay. This was fine. Awful after that point. Went to page that had no detail but the full price of which I’d already paid 60%. I hoped that it would give me a true balance and payment due amount after I put in my card info. It never did. Just treated it as a request like I was plunking down for initial booking.

I am so impressed with the level of quality with VRBO. There is a seamless protocol in place with booking, communication with the property owner and ability to learn about the area and and activities that surround the rental. I have been so pleased with the level of professionalism and ease while booking with VRBO and have since stopped using Airbnb do to the deficits of the above topics. I can plan a trip with confidence and that adds to my hard earned vacation experience.

Not sure what “department” is responding to these reviews but seeing as how I’ve spoken to and been escalated to, several different departments and been given nothing but the run around for roughly 2 months until speaking to the “executive customer service team” and given an answer of we can’t help you and told they were the “be all and end all” of escalation, since when I asked who else I could speak to, the response was along the lines of, I’m not sure what you think the word “executive” in “executive customer service team” means and that there is no one else, but I followed the web address given and was taken to the same place I started all of this after many phone calls and being told to go to same page as provided in your response and got no where. So really just more run around and double talk or these are “answered” by a computer automated system programmed to just spit out the same reply to bad reviews every time in the hopes of seeming like the company cares and might actually attempt to look into the issue and be fair and do the right thing. (Guess I’ll find out by the response this gets, if it gets one) I’ve already found out the hard way that this company doesn’t and won’t stand behind what their associates, agents, representatives or whatever they want to call the actual people that work for them and handle customer complaints and tells customers what the company can and will do for them and then the company makes scapegoats out of their own people pointing the finger at them for misspeaking or points finger at customer for misunderstanding what was said or in this case and I’m sure many others, both. I have worked in a customer service management capacity for a very long time for several companies in different industries and when one of my people misspoke about what the company could and would do, somehow, someway the situation was made right for the customer and at no time did I have the advantage of a recorded phone conversation that this company has to review and pick a sentence or 2 out of what was probably a 20-30 minute conversation and try to twist the blame to an associate of theirs misspoken words and/or the customer misunderstood. O and by the way the recording is “proprietary information” and you aren’t allowed to hear the rest of it, so make sure you take good notes while on the phone of exactly what is said and what possible meanings they can twist their own and your words into.
We booked a property with this app through another family member’s account. Upon arrival found the property completely unsatisfactory and in unsafe condition. Having run into some travel delays we arrived well passed midnight and reported findings to company as we got nasty responses from owner when messaging for the corrected access code to enter property. We were assured by agent we spoke to that they would handle getting a refund. So we found alternative accommodations at considerable expense time and stress and vacated property within several hours of arrival. Well it’s been weeks of back and forth emails and phone calls and as you may have guessed by now no refund. This company is a joke to deal with once they have your money if you have an issue, no return calls unless you make a nuisance of yourself and let them know you aren’t just gonna go away and even then they just claim to escalate your case to supervisors or managers or higher departments ultimately just telling you the agent was mistaken and shouldn’t have said what they said and would be spoken to with their apologies or that you misunderstood what the agent said or actually told both, after they “review” the recorded conversation, when clearly that isn’t the case because how could it be that the agent was wrong it what he said and I misunderstood what he said. Well which is it? Either way no refund when obviously there should be. Company doesn’t stand behind what their associates say they will do and doesn’t care about their customers

Great owners Sandi was wonderful- Hostess Katherine was superb. Unit was in a Great Location in Mission Beach on the Strand. Near everything! Parking inside a secure parking garage under the building with an elevator is a BONUS in San Diego! Especially at the beach where parking is impossible! This condo is good for a couple or family with 2 small children or a second couple who don’t mind a pull out couch. Equipped with everything you need - plus a bbq grill and beach chairs. Coin Laundry on property. Bike and Watercraft rentals are nearby. Boardwalk is one building away - only 55 steps!
Restaraunt’s and stores are all in walking distance.
Sunrise . sunsets and view of Mission Bay, Pacific Ocean and City lights are all there on the balcony.
Clean and Comfy Property that is great for a beach getaway! 20 min from San Diego airport! Close to all the attractions!

I had difficulty using Vrbo making many attempts to get the booking site to work and then it wouldn’t accept my credit card and I had to use a card that I didn’t want to use in order to finish a two day booking procedure. I even had to call the property owner to preapprove the booking and try to get the Vrbo system to work.

VRBO App needs work 2/5
We like arranging stays and vacations through VRBO, but the APP needs improvement. The email inbox feature and messaging feature with owners takes forever to load and sometimes never does load on my Apple iPad IOS device. I have to repeatedly close and reopen the APP. Have also deleted the APP and reloaded it, but the issue persists. I do not have the same problem with the Airbnb APP. This long delay in loading or failure for messages to load at all happens despite the fact that we have premium high speed WiFi. It has to be an issue with the APP design. We prefer using an iPad for VRBO to see property photos and location maps in larger formats than iPhones allow.

I have used the app in the past with no problems BUT I just booked a home on Plum Island and am having a problem. Under amenities in the app it was stated that linens and towels were provided. After booking, I find out there is a fee of $200. I also find out that the fee is stated on the web site but not on the app. I have tried to contact vrbo but haven’t had any luck. I am unable to send this without tapping a star, so it gets one.
I love the app but I wish it had a filter that added an office or workspace. I am a remote worker and would love to be able to filter an office/workspace option so I didn’t have to read every description.

We need a king size bed, and I waste hours clicking into each property trying to find those that have king beds. Some don’t even specify so I’m stuck sending messages and waiting for replies. It’s very frustrating.
Search Pictures Not in Order 3/5
Me and my family love Homeaway and VRBO. I love the conscience of using the app; however, it is very frustrating that when you get search results, the pictures are never in order. Owners put their pictures in a specific order, but when the search results are brought up I need to scroll all the way to the left to bring up the first picture.
It seems like it should be extremely easy to have the search results always show the first picture for each property and provide the scroll by the property’s picture order.
The app’s a bit complicated to get from your notes to the place you write to the home owner. 4/5

Hosts should be penalized when not keeping availability up to date. Listing shows multiple units with multiple units free in August, but host responds to booking request saying it’s sold out through Labor Day. Ridiculous!

Love this app to find a rental. Recommend updates to include searching for multiple week options. For instance if you wanted a week in July. Any week vs searching individual weeks. Also would like if there was an option to report a listing for inaccurate information. For instance, if I am looking for a oceanfront house and filter that way, I don’t want listings of condos or houses that are blocks away.

I booked a beach house for 4 girls in Tulum ,Mexico and right before we arrive there is no answer from the owner ! No keys , no correct address and no response ! I thought they would let me know as we were arriving . It was a lot of money and it was very very traumatizing to be in Mexico with no where to stay with 4 girls . I had to just about beg them to believe me that this guy took my email changed it and said I cancelled ! I did not cancel at all ! Thank goodness two days later they found out it was fake but what a nightmare ! I can’t believe that it isn’t checked better we are thankful that hopefully I’ll be fully reimbursed by my credit card ! But nothing is 100% ! Please please Vrbo check your properties better this was a horrible situation for all of us !! Never again !!
