Security deposit refund takes 4 weeks to process, ridiculous. To compete with AirBnB, VRBO needs to prevent listers from charging security fees. Makes for a much better customer experience.
Lovely studio , exactly what I expected and much much better than my friends did . It’s a perfect location , very well organized , extremely clean and Uber organized for your stay . I hope it’s available every time i visit . The owner is very thoughtful and cares that you are Comfortable safe and well acclimated . Perfect

Searching and booking is so easy/convenient!
When you book a rental house make sure you get what the property describes because unfortunately i got misrepresented by saying and showing one thing and not actually being there. VRBO is the type of app that will take side with the people they partner up with and not their customers. I tried contacting customer support and is like talking to a wall. If i can rate this a zero i would but unfortunately i cant. I will not recommend this app to anyone and i wish the best for everyone who book through this site.

I used VRBO for the first time planning a family s week vacation after being in quarantine and hoping to enjoy Myrtle Beach I been trying to cancel our family trip since mid June because the virus is out control down there I had spent at least a hour at a time on hold on several occasions with Vrbo After finally getting to talk to a person there answer to me was we will be in contact with you within 24/48 hrs To give you a answer on a refund I said thank goodness I spent more money on trip insurance Anther waste of money cause it didn’t cover the virus it’s in the small print We even tried to contact rose the owner but she also was impossible to reach with a attitude to boot
Vrbo really has a great selection of property’s as long as there are no issues Vrbo did not stand behind our family Very disappointing lost over $2300 😕

During difficult times i get things require extra effort and patience. Ive waited over a month for a refund and after an hour on the phone all i got was maybe check back on the day you booked the reservation?! Call back tomorrow and wait another hr to talk to billing.
Not Worth It 1/5
Vrbo charges a ridiculous amount just to be a connector for other organizations. Plus there is little to no customer service nor do they guarantee customer satisfaction. I rented a property whose price was overly inflated and got the worst customer experience not only from Vrbo but also the management property and owner of the property. I would have been better off searching for a property myself or using Airbnb. I was very disappointed because the app is nice looking.

Wonderful place to stay for the four of us. Brian and Nicole are very accommodating. Was lovely meeting you two and sitting at the campfire together. This is a second time I spend several hours to find and book a home to know 72 hours later that it wasn’t “approved” because those dates were not available! And I only found out about that because the owner of the house told me...

I booked a property this past 4th of July and paid in full. The day of, I called the owner because I wasn’t getting any access info. Turns out, property WASNT EVEN AVAILABLE. I had to do last minute plans and rent a hotel. I couldn’t even get my money back right away to get something else. NO ONE FROM VRBO BOTHERED TO call, not even to apologize and after waiting about 50 minutes in hold... they just clicked on me.
I will not be using this app. Ever.

I absolutely love this app however one thing that I cannot stand is that the owners of the vacation rentals can delete reviews. Due to this I believe that it makes the app risky to use when it comes to finding a place to stay.

We had a lovely time here! It had all the important amenities and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. It was perfectly located between Orange Beach and Pensacola Beach, with all their attractions. The owner was VERY nice and accommodating to all our needs/requests. If you’re looking for a peaceful beach getaway, I would highly recommend!

Accidentally entered email with typo. App doesn’t allow you to fix until account is confirmed via the email just sent wrong address. Ok, my bad. An hour on chat (after being dropped once) finally told to Call customer service. Hour on hold. Rep says they will fix it and outs me on hold. Call is dropped. Doesn’t call back even though she took my number “in case we get disconnected.” Call back. Another hour on hold. New rep says to call back in 24 hrs. Ask to speak to supervisor. On hold another 20 min only to be disconnected...

One suggestion, provide a filter for a month selection. Example, I’m looking for a vacation in August. I don’t have specific dates but I know I want to vacation in August. Then show me all of the properties that have availability in August.

The fact that you are forced to download the app to view a listing someone sent you is absolutely ridiculous. I do not want to download the app. I should be able to share a listing through a browser as needed.
Full of options to conduct searches except... 4/5
The only thing I see the app lacking, or maybe I just haven’t figured it out, is plugging in a window as far as dates and the ability to look for say a 5 night stay between these 2 weeks.
Other than that, I do enjoy the app searching for places to stay.
Owners are pretty prompt on their responses as well

My booking was confirmed at Timber Lodge by Marriott. When we get to the front desk, they told me they couldn’t find my reservation. I showed the assistant manager the email of my confirmation. And then I saw the cancellation that was sent after midnight the day of check in. Can you imagine how horrible it was. The front desk manager said they were sold out and they have no room for us! We travel a lot and this is the worst experience we had.

Not only Vrbo is offering properties and giving confirmation of reservations made for which they of course take your money, but then, they cancel you without any valid reason and then in top of the huge mess they keep your money for 4 to 6 weeks ( this is what they say is going to take for us to get our refund). To say that we are disappointed and upset is an understatement.

My family and I had a house rented over a year ahead of time. A few weeks before the trip we get an email saying our reservation is canceled without an explanation. They can cancel your trip at any point and screw your vacation

The functionality and process of finding and booking a place is great, but good luck if you ever need to cancel and/or get a refund. I would recommend reading reviews on other reputable sites. Most complaints are related to getting a refund. It is too difficult and cumbersome to get your money back if you ever need to cancel.

The search function was horrible. It doesn’t tell you that you have to have $3,500 deposit. VRBO charges additional fees based on the number of guest. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. I’ll write another after our visit. Not happy with VRBO! Great owners!!

We love the accommodations -we love the setting we love your home. We have had a beautiful, relaxing, fun, time and we thank you very very much. The beds are comfortable the pillows are comfortable -the place is clean -I can’t say enough!! So this is probably the best Cabin we’ve ever gotten from a VRBO or HomeAway rental. I hope we will be back soon!!

Love VRBO and have had a great experience generally but rented a place this winter and the reservation was not tied to my name somehow (unlike my other reservations) and it has been a major hassle trying to find it and cancel the reservation
This is problematic that you take a deposit immediately, but sit on and use my money for over 10 days. I have not received a deposit from a stay that was over 10 days ago. It’s very obvious what you are doing and this is a troublesome practice I would be concerned about.

The ac had to left on 72 and algae formed in the pool. Took 2 days to get someone out to clean. Deposit is being withheld because owner is stating we messed the ac up by adjusting it from 72. They replaced the unit. This doesn’t cause a unit to break down.
