    Overall I like this app/website. Easy to navigate and good representation of the properties that are available. My only complaint is that I would like to see a filter that would allow you to only pick short term rentals as opposed to having to click on properties only to find out that there is a 30 day minimum.

    I have had 2 terrible experiences with this service now, prompting this review. First time the guy I made a reservation with just canceled it days before my trip and the customer service told me it was just too bad. Completely upended my vacation budget. Second experience happened today after the Tigers game the guy just didn’t respond to my messages or calls, or customer service’s messages and calls. So I was given a refund in both instances, but that doesn’t really help me when I’m days away with a booked flight or the night after a baseball game when I’m stuck on the street with my 2 kids calling around to book a last-minute room because our train doesn’t leave until the morning. I wouldn’t have even used this service the second time except that Expedia owns them and after I booked I found out it was a VRBO. Just unredeemably terrible.

    I’d leave 0 stars if I could their customer service is horrible and their policies don’t make sense and are stupid. Vrbo told me I’m not eligible for a refund because I didn’t call them the night of my booking? I didn’t know customer service was 24/7! How is that my fault? I waited until Monday because it’s a business day to call and inform them I wasn’t able to stay at the property that weekend and needed a refund. My boyfriend and I showed up, the owner never sent an email or text on how to get into the house or ever replied to my message through Vrbo. The calls went straight to voicemail and nobody answered the door. Their Ring was completely shut off. There was a package on the front porch with the owner’s name and their car parked in the driveway. I don’t think that’s normal... I sent them videos and screenshots of us trying to get in, the car, the weird package that had been there for God knows how long and they’re still unable to assist me. I’ve been asking for a refund for weeks because I never stayed at the property I had to drive all the way home. Imagine if I was staying somewhere out of state hours and hours away? They said they can’t help me because I didn’t call the same night I couldn’t get in so what? Either way, the owner of the property is not responding or cooperating! Customer service has tried calling themselves and it goes straight to voicemail for them too, they send emails to the owner and no response there either. Vrbo says “It’s up to the owner, they need verify you didn’t stay at the property.” There must be something Vrbo can do for hosts that do not respond! This is unacceptable. Did anybody at Vrbo come to think that the owner may have passed away in the home as well? I expressed my concerns about that too but nobody is helping anybody. I will never book with Vrbo again, Airbnb is better and more reliable, their hosts are more responsive. Vrbo needs to check in with their hosts weekly to make sure they’re ALIVE and ready for their guests. This is ridiculous. Give me my money back!

    This is a frustrating process. Seems like a lot of availability, but everything is through brokers in Florida who say there is no availability and change the price by a couple $1,000. Seems unreliable and very frustrating.

    This app does not work most the time. No one to contact and speak with. Rental pending host has 24 hrs to respond it’s been 24 hrs and no response but app states no refund if I cancel the request! Stay far away from this site!

    I normally don’t write this kind of comments. I tried to find a place to stay for Honeymoon. Every time I requested they don’t have the same day I requested or they increase the money and ask me to book a different day. I specifically asked for the day and if they don’t have the date it I don’t know why I can request it. Anyway, I won’t use this app anymore.

    Vrbo gave me a nightmare experience. The host for my stay in Amsterdam completely ghosted me leaving me stranded. Vrbo was unable to provide me with new accommodations as they assured me would be possible. Their app made it impossible to chat, none of the provided customer service numbers worked, I had to have a friend help login to my account on a computer just to get an international number that did work for me. I was not only told I would be completely refunded in 3-5 business days but that a stay free of charge would be found for me. When they sent me the options they could give me, none of them were even available and they kept putting on me to book a new place in order to move forward. I kept stressing that they weren’t giving me viable options and thus a pointless cycle continued. I ended up having to spend an extra $1300 to book a new place on my own wasting two full days of my trip because of them. I’m still waiting for my refund and have since gone through my credit card company to get a refund. Absolute worst service and I would never suggest anyone go through them unless you want to have your time and money wasted while they do absolutely nothing to make it right.

    I was looking for a three bedroom rental and chose to filter all the listing by three bedrooms. I found one that I was not too fond of to begin with but it said it was a three bedroom. Upon arrival it ended up being two bedrooms two bath. I called the host to complain and was astonished by her response. She stated that it could become three beds by taking one of the mattresses from the main bedroom since it had double mattress. When you are traveling a long distance you trust that you will get what it described or even exceed your expectations but not with this one. Not even an apology did I get.

    I find this website incredibly difficult to use. And I’m a person who does nothing but online shopping and uses at least 20 or 30 websites regularly. I find this convoluted, difficult to navigate, and particularly when compared to other vacation rental websites.

    Renters beware! If you cancel you will charged... but if you have 6 family members and a small preauthorized graduation party planned and the home owner, Tyniece Cummings in Jamestown NC, messages you “We found a double booking in our calendar and had to cancel the reservation based on priority booking.” There is virtually nothing you can do. You can not even leave her property a bad review because the rental never took place. VRBO app just connects idiots with idiots.

    I am a seasoned traveler both internationally and domestically. I booked this property through Vrbo for the first time for an event that my family was participating. I payed fully and received confirmation 8 months ago, in September 2021. About 3 weeks prior to our departure, I reached out to the property owner to ask about the check-in procedure and found out the property was SOLD to SOMEONE ELSE with HIGHER PRICE after I HAD SECURED the place. Due to this international event that’s happening in our destination, there was ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER PROPERTY AVAILABLE and the price was about 3 to 10 times more compared to when I made this booking 8 months ago!!! I lost my sleep and appetite after this incident due to the stress to look for an alternative accommodation while the owner was telling me to cancel in order to receive the refund although she was the one who sold her property to other customer with the higher price. Finally we were able to force the owner to cancel the booking and receive the refund but there was no other property with equivalent condition existed. Vrbo told us that there was a guarantee system called “Booking with Confidence”. This means that Vrbo will make sure to give us an alternative property in case if the owner cancels the booking at their convenience. The only property that was available in their site at this moment was far from the event venue, and price was twice more than the original booking we had. The Vrbo rebooking team reached out and offered to pay the difference up to the same amount as what we payed for the original property (in writing), so we booked this new place with a great compromise on our end. HOWEVER, we haven’t got the difference payed back from the Vrbo yet and we were forced to depart for the trip without enough funding. I have been trying to reach out to Vrbo’s rebooking team, but never got reply other than the regular customer service saying our case has been in investigation AFTER THEY ALREADY OFFERED US TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. I need the reimbursement for the difference that they promised as soon as possible, since we booked the alternate property ONLY BECAUSE they offer to pay the difference. I personally will never use their site ever again FOR THE REST IF MY LIFE. Is this site an AUCTION site? Even the auction site will not re-sell something to a new customer after they receive full payment and give out the confirmation TO THE FIRST AND ONLY BUYER. Wish if I knew. I have never been tortured like this in my travel history. Everyone I talked about my experience was so much in shock. This should not be allowed as a business practice. I truly hope they go out of business and do the favor to consumer if they can’t pursue what they offer. This is a con. Update: So the proper team finally contacted me and said they’ll follow through what they promised. I submitted everything they asked for, including our bank information. It’s been 2 weeks since then and again, I don’t hear anything!! I emailed them asking how things are going, but no reply!! Please,reply me email and tell me when you can send us the reimbursement!!!

    I have had great experiences with Airbnb and Casago, in terms of customer service and flexibility. I booked my reservation with VRBO about 45 days before the trip and included the wrong dates. VRBO offers no cancellation refund within a 60 day window! Airbnb offers 48 hours to make changes! It says it is up to the host’s discretion after that. I emailed the hosts at Bella Sirena (will include their names later), less than 24 hours after I booked with them. They initially said they would allow me to change the dates. Then after sending some new dates, they changed their mind and said we could not change the dates!!! I paid over $1200 for this stupid 3 day reservation. The owners said they would refund me the $200 cleaning fee if I wanted to cancel, but would keep the other $1000. Remember, this is less than 24 hours after I made the reservation and it is up to their discretion. After the back and forth and my frustration, the owners asked for an additional $500 damage deposit!!! As if I’m going to damage the property. Never use VRBO! Always use Airbnb and Casago. The site and owners have always been helpful and they have reasonable cancellation policies. I have never been so disappointed in a company!

    I cannot understand why the VRBO app is all of a sudden not working on my phone. It was fine 5 days ago. I tried to use the chat option and text box does not populate. When I called a rep, her tv was on so loudly she could barely be understood. She told me that everything with my account is fine. I cannot see properties. I have a trip to pay on in 2 months and I need help with the app and cannot find where to get that help. No customer service whatsoever!

    This company will allow hosts to charge you a bogus incidental/damages fee with no possible way to appeal. I was told I’d be able to prove my case and was blindsided this morning when I was charged $300 with no sort of follow up from any customer service rep. I will be leaving a bad review on all of their platforms and disputing the charge through my bank since this is not the company you use if you want customer service. Edit: LOL at their response. I’ve already gone that route. Been almost 2 months with no response. Funny.

    It’s very disappointing to write this review. My booking is for July; soon after finalizing the booking in February, I decided to shorten the stay by one day. The host was aware and tried to change the date, and I also attempted to change the date. Neither of us were able (and still unable) to change the date. Incredibly frustrating and a huge black mark for VRBO. I will certainly think twice before using this website again.

    Be ware! The app will tell you the reservation cannot be booked and then charge you for it anyway. There is absolutely no help available or way to request refunds.

    The first time I used them there was a mistake with the dates. I tried reaching the property owner with no success. When i spoke to those at VRBO they said there was nothing they could do as they couldn’t reach the property owner either. How is it they represent someone and can take your money but help in no way when there’s an issue.

    The app does not allow you to receive answers to questions before taking payment info. The app does not give a final order review before processing. The app does not explain the process where you submit money but your reservation is still pending some kind of review. It could be a lot better, seems there wasn’t a lot of user input into the app development.

    You would think with such a popular app they could address the constant problems. The main complaint is that when I try and enlarge the map or pictures of a property the app (as well as browser use) locks up and you have to close it out and start over. This is a constant issue- please fix it!

    We booked a place for 8 people 6 months in advance. 2 weeks before the trip the house owner sold their house and cancelled, and the home owner tried to book us in a house half the size, a third of the cost (with no refund! $2.5k down the drain!), and an hour away from where we needed to be. Because this was so last minute, there are no realistic options within an hour of our location. When I called VRBO, they were totally tone deaf on the situation and just told us over and over that it was the home owners right to cancel on us. Avoid these guys.

    If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked with a lady named Edith in March for my trip that’s in June. I did this three months prior to my trip so I had everything planned. Come May 3rd, I get a notification saying my stay was cancelled because she sold the house I would be staying at. I was furious. She gave a full refund but now my trip is less than a month away and I have to find a new place to stay. I called VRBO in hopes that they could provide some sort of compensation or inconvenience fee. I called once only to be hung up on and then a second time while waiting for 15 minutes. I was hung up on again. After the third time somebody finally picked up. Seeing as though most of the places are now more expensive. They could not do anything for me. They said all they could do is make sure her listings do not pop up as often. In which I responded that they should be totally taken off the app. They basically could do nothing for me after being cancelled on with less then a month before my trip. Absolutely awful service. Never again.

    VRBO does not take negative reviews seriously or complaints with properties. I left them a message two separate days and neither call was returned. On the third try, I was finally able to speak to someone but they were of no help whatsoever resolving the issue with the property I was staying at. They just blew it off and said to resolve it with the property manager that rented us the place. I used VRBO for an entire month renting about 6 different places and I will not be using them again. Lastly, since nothing was done about my serious security concern, I left a negative review for the property. After a couple days, they said my review didn’t meet the guidelines because I discussed security deposit pricing (one of my concerns) so I had the opportunity to remove that portion and resubmit which I did. They said they would review again but this time they waited about 3 weeks to respond again stating that it didn’t meet their guidelines. They didn’t give a specific reason either. This time when I tried to edit and resubmit, it stated that I was outside the window and could not post the review. This is a very shady practice for VRBO and I would highly recommend using a different app for your short term vacation rentals.

    I paid 1400.00 plus for a week in London. Got to the home and the host never answered back either me or VRBO. They sent me to the rebooking team who was goi g to find me a new place to stay. They sent me to a hotel for the night but I ended up having to pay for my own room. They were to contact me the next day about a place to stay or a full refund. After 24 hours I called and spoke to over a dozen people who kept transferring me around. I am now stuck in London with no place to stay and they are refusing to give my money back. I have 6 days left and am having to spend more money for hotels. I have repeatedly called and after hours of international calls, I have received no help. I sit on hold and eventually it disconnects. I do not recommend them as a vacation rental country.

    I booked this place on my first ever trip to our nations capital just to find out the property didn’t exist. When I called VRBO for assistance they left me stranded and I had to borrow money from friends an additional $600 to find a hotel to stay. Don’t use this app you’ve been warn…. This was my first and last time… after going on twitter I noticed that so many other people have been scammed using this service. If I could I would give them a negative 100 stars … customer service is horrible they kept hanging up the phone after putting me on hold for over 1 hour…. Use AIRBNB or book a hotel directly.

    This is a great way to vacation but all the extra charges can undermine your budget. There’s more houses to chose from but the fees have raised.
