VRV got me watching anime all over again because for the longest time i had stopped. But all my app does is consistently crash. I open it try to sync videos and next thing i know I’m back to my home screen. There’s other times where I’m pressing sync and it just decides to ignore the input and close out.
I’m actually pretty perturbed that I’m using $10 for an app that isn’t working 100% most of the time
Very buggy 2/5
The whole app is a little buggy, but it’s not even worth attempting to download anything offline since it will crash every 5 seconds, and you’ll finally be able to get something to download, close the app then re-open it, and it will say download failed and you have to restart, if they fix downloading I will give them 5 stars, but for now I cannot do that.
Great app!! 4/5
I love this app even with the disgusting amount of ads without premium it still works really well but if I could make a small suggestion....you should add a genre filter so it will be easier to find exactly what kinds of shows I want to watch
The app is unstable 3/5
By Pink sheep cart
The app keeps on crashing and there are other bugs that I have experience. Overall it is good but they need to fix the app variant
Really don’t know 4/5
By taco bell mack sick
I mean this app is ok but it doesn’t show all the anime like tokoy ghoul I can’t watch that in this app
Subtitle doesn’t change on chromecast 2/5
Once you send the video to chromecast, there is no get anything but English on subtitles
Too many ads
By Jeoffrey P
Your ps4 app doesn’t load videos for the past 2 days. The app has had trouble loafing videos since I got it 6 months ago. Usually you have to try 3 or 4 times for it to start but now nothing. There’s no way to write a review on PSN so here it is. The only reason I started using this instead of crunchy roll was because crunchy roll had jacked up their subtitles on a lot of their anime’s there was no English option. This app filled the void but if it can’t even load videos anymore then what’s the use? Since this is also ran by crunchy roll guess it makes sense.
Offline viewing 2/5
Gee whiz, I sure do wish offline viewing worked. It’s like the only reason to use the app as opposed to the website...
Offline is horrible compared to normal 3/5
I downloaded a lot of episodes thinking they would be at okay quality but if you compare them you can see a huge difference. For example bleach, I downloaded the first six episodes and I can tell they were at like the lowest quality. When I tried it without download the highest quality was 480p since it was a old episode. When I downloaded it you can tell it was way lower. I was hoping it would be like YouTube and get 720p when you download. I do wish it was at 1080p.
VRV > Funimation 4/5
Honestly, VRV is one of the best places to watch anime and other cartoons/shows. It has a wide verity of genres to choose from and the layout is easy to operate.
While Funimation is also a good place to watch anime, I personally like VRV better because Funimation tends to have lots of lengthy adds. It’s almost impossible to find an app to watch anime that has no adds unless you pay for premium. While I am not currently paying for a premium account, my friend is and he says that it’s worth (about) $9.00 per month.
VRV may not have ALL the anime’s that you would like to watch, I’m just saying that it has most of them. If can’t find an anime on VRV I usually switch over to Crunchyroll of Funimation, but if I find an anime that’s on both Funimation and VRV I watch it on the latter. Thanks for taking your time to read this, I hope you get this amazing app.

HOW DO I END MY FREE TRIAL?!??!
BEST STREAMING SERVICE EVER 5/5
Great even without premium but VRV premium is 💯 worth it, and if you only want one service premium that’s all you have to pay for I saw one as low as 2.99 the most expensive is 10
Downloading and crash 1/5
By Jeebus crisis
Dang I crash like 5 times in a minute and all my downloads just fail wonder why
Synching impossible 2/5
Impossible to download anything keeps crashing
By idk somebody that
VRV is pretty good as a website but as an app it needs some work. Sometimes it will just exit the app and all the things you were trying to down load just would say failed and it would not let you retry and down load it again so I would have to uninstall and they reinstall the app it fix it
Constant crashing 2/5
I wish I could try to navigate without the app crashing on me.
Ads make it a 1 star 1/5
I’ve used this app forever but now I can’t since I don’t wanna but premium. There is a problem with the ads where they freeze and don't play so I can’t watch anything on this app. This has been a problem for months please fix it.
Ad bug 1/5
I keep on getting ads that freeze and have to restart the app and watch six more ads. The first three to make up for restarting the app and another three just to keep watching any series of shows.
Show pages don’t load. 3/5
The app is great. I can watch anime and cartoons I enjoy, when the show pages load. I originally got the app to watch a certain anime, and it was working fine until just recently. I find that lately it takes several attempts of closing and reopening the app to get a show page to load, and sometimes, though not often, it still doesn’t load. Other show pages will load just fine, it seems to be just the select few I have an issue with. As soon as the problem is fixed, back to 5 stars.
The anime’s 4/5
I got this app in hope it would have more shows than Netflix. It did it had the other seasons of attack on titan and more one piece etc. however it didn’t have Pokemon (yes it’s an anime) and one punch man. If the reason you can’t add them is because of legal reasons I get it. Also I was hoping you could add dubbing for the Japanese stufff.
Glitchy ads 2/5
The ads keep glitching and I have to click out of the app continuously.
connection issues and syncing 2/5
First of all, syncing is a complete mess. Sometimes it would show me the check mark claiming it’s done syncing, but then the app crashes. I would reload the app and all the episodes I’ve synced are now corrupted. This is extremely annoying since it would sometimes take maybe 3 tries just to download one episode.
Connection. On an iPhone XS with 20 mbps download speed(stable connection) I should be able to load an anime episode no problem. But instead, the app doesn’t load anything, just gives me a black screen with so sign of progress downloading. Secondly, I’ve found it common that if you were to continue an episode off where you’d left off, the app itself crashes AGAIN. Being honest, I still love VRV and all it’s content, but the app VRV, as well as the servers needs a lot of work. Nothing is consistent enough yet. I will still continue my membership, but I just hope they can improve the app. I have zero complaints about watching anime from my desktop, it’s just the app that has issues.
App keeps crashing and I am not able to download videos for offline
App has gotten progressively worse since Funimation left, and now, I can’t even download my shows without the app crashing, and then it stops downloading because it crashed. To expensive and too popular for these kinds of issues
Has good anime(Crunchyroll) but I crash every 10 minutes
Too many adds 1/5
Too many adds
Ok app 2/5
If you are an anime fan then this should suit your needs especially the offline feature its really great. That being said the app itself needs work it force closes when you try to access the offline part of the app, your account doesnt sync which means if you use the same account for two different devices you have to search through everything all over again and if you have multiple series downloaded you basically lost everything.and it has a vast library good for anime lovers terrible for offline users especially if its constantly deleting your stuff. Not to mention its made by crunchyroll but they dont give you a safe way to link vrv and an actual crunchyroll account you would have to either wait for your specific day and cancel crunchyroll and use those funds to get vrv or pay twice cause they dont make it easier for you.also last but least ive been communicating with their customer service department and not once did they encourage that they are fixing or updating the app they just try to blame your device nd how to troubleshoot but no actual progress. And while talking to them 4 6 months not one update not 1
My favorite app 5/5
By binny benis
So here is my take on VRV,
VRV was a strange idea that popped it to my head for no real reason so I decided to try it out since it was sitting on my home screen for about a month. When I first launched it it had a good selection of anime and other good shows to watch(this was the first time I had ever watched anime) so I had chosen the first one I thought looked interesting, and to my surprise I had officially loved watching anime ever since the day I loaded up the app. VRV has a great selection and almost endless possibilities for anime and non-anime watchers alike.
Over all my opinion is that this app is a great way to watch what you love.
Get your crap straight.... 2/5
Okay let me start by saying this app and the concept behind it, putting everything in one place, and offering so much for such a great price is totally awesome, but there are some serious flaws that I am having with their system as well the general app on the phone.
1) The system that keeps up with your payment and account is really flipping buggy, I just had to “START A FREE TRIAL”, when my debit card is already attached to my account, not to mention I have been a premium member for OVER a year. It’s really annoying and bothersome whenever you log on to watch your shows and it sits there saying you need to activate premium when you already got it and have to go through hoops to figure out why it’s not showing premium when you sit there and pay for it.
2) The app...... the app for the most part is great, good idea with everything, but the execution of the app is just plain garbage. It constantly crashes when you try to browse the content, and constantly switches on you from “dub” to “sub” whenever you touch anything on the dub side things. But, the worst thing of the entire app is that whether you download the videos to watch “offline” or not, you won’t be watching anything. If you don’t have data or WiFi you ain’t watching squat, end of discussion.
3) Another issue I have found that whether or not you have data/WiFi or not the downloaded videos will sometimes randomly stop and start buffering, sometimes you can skip a few seconds and that will fix it, other times you can’t get around it at all and will have to abandon the episode til you are sitting on WiFi to stream it. This would probably the most frustrating thing yet!
Having said all that it’s a great concept but the app is done in such a halfway manner that it’s almost impossible to use. These issues continually make me consider cancelling my subscription.
Work on it Ellation. It needs it badly.
Too Many Ads 3/5
By Really Lame
Although the content is exactly what I’m looking for I don’t believe that I need to watch 20+ ads in the span of a 20-40 minute video. On top of that the ads aren’t unique, the same 4 or 5 ads get played every time the app decides to make me watch them.
Only gripe 1/5
So my only gripe from coming to vrv from just crunchy roll at the birth was the plethora of content I wanted to watch (mainly anime/funimation). Since the increase of gaming popularity all you do is flood my updates with trash rooster teeth pods and vods. While undermining great installments on your other channels you neglect to advertise. I rarely see hi-dive get content and when it does I have to painstakingly search your terrible ui to find something “new” to watch. But yet when I log on my days where I know certain shows update there nowhere in the updates section. Why is that? Why is the update section limited so heavily why do you think the need for these huge images play so hard into my ability to pick content. When it took me literal months to figure out how to expand the read more logs on my PS4 which I’m 28 I’m not that simple when it comes to tech so it was a shock to me when it took so long to figure out because I literally gave up on reading synopsis’s and just said oh well 10 min won’t hurt if it’s trash. But it does, especially when you force MULTIPLE titles from series I’ve not even once opened. Like if people sub to VRV to watch rooster teeth content. You’re annoying, and ruining the one weeb thing I had that made me feel like I wasn’t disconnected. Oh well back to trying to dig through libraries to find SOMETHING decent to watch that’s isn’t the dudes from insidergames pouring their content down my throat on OTHER platforms. Where I understand many probably tune in to that watered down “gaming journalism” instead of learning truths for themselves, it doesn’t dispute the fact I paid for this service as a way to be able to FINALLY support the licenses in other ways than buying manga or merch. Thank you, you literally make me feel like I pay to sub for slutty slice of life anime’s and sub par gaming journalism. It hurts but at least I find random gems here from literally digging through every page I can now since I’m so burned out in titles that I want to view and consume.
Vrv’s changes 4/5
There are a lot of anime’s I used to watch on this app that are gone. I know the reason is because Funimation is gone. I’m just wondering why. Now, the anime’s I want to watch are either gone or on Hidive, which you have to pay for. I still love this app but I just miss the other anime’s.
Current bug as of 6/18/19 5/5
Whenever I go to the home screen, it says I couldn’t connect to VRV. However when I go somewhere else like Shield Hero or something, it works. Even just going to VRV select and stuff works. Idk why this happened, but if someone can fix it, please do.
Keeps crashing. ☹️ 1/5
Literally every 30 seconds.
VRV app 2/5

Can’t connect to app
It keeps crashing 2/5
The amount of time this app crashes would make you think it’s not a final product. You can download for offline viewing but chances are nothing will ever download. They need to fix all these bugs.
Billing (free trial) 2/5
By maria armendariz
How can I cancel my free trial
Some bugs but still good 4/5
So i just got the premium for the downloads but there's one problem I don't know if it's just my phone or what but iy closes the app ALLLLL the time for no reason when I'm downloading (also the space allowed to download is pretty small) please fix this!! i love this app but don't want to pay for features i can't even use
A little glitchy 4/5
I like this app but is has one problem the ads sometimes they don’t play and just show a black screen and they only start playing when I click on the add to go to the website
Can’t stream or won’t stream but streaming in an option 3/5
I love the content on this app but I’m really disappointed that it won’t let me stream
Bingers, rejoice! 5/5
The variety of shows you can get on this app is amazing. You can watch things like Naruto and Scooby-Doo on the same platform! A lot of the animes have both sub and dub, and the quality of the videos (not just anime) is amazing as well. And even though there are ads, they’re never repetitive and the ads are a mere 15 seconds at most. Perfect for binging! I don’t have premium, so I couldn’t say much about that, but I know the perks are great. If you’re a hardcore anime or nostalgia fan, get VRV.
Why not this anime 3/5
It has attack on titan BUT not Tokyo Ghoul
I Love It! Just A Small Problem... 5/5
I absolutely love this app! It gives you anime that you love and know and it is all up to date! I even watched anime that I didn’t even knew existed! But recently I couldn’t get on anything because I was offline, but my internet was on... I hope you can fix this small glitch, but overall it’s a really great app and I highly recommend it for Otaku’s like me!
Great concept, needs work. 3/5
The idea of VRV is incredible. It has a plethora of different shows that appeal to my nostalgia and also pique my interest, however, the app is constantly either crashing or just straight up refusing to load altogether. It would be an amazing app worth every penny were it not for those reasons. Until they fix those they need to lower the price or just take it off altogether.
Love but some issues 4/5
Love the app but there was some issues there always three add and you have to pay but I love watching my anime on this app
Ad issue 3/5
I like crunchyroll this app works fine but if your not on premium then there are about six adds in one episode this is a good app but if you don’t like ads don’t get the regular version it will make you mad. And when you leave the app and come back there are ads that pop up and your video is still playing and you can’t see any of it.
Ad issue O-O 4/5
Ok so, I LOVE this app, but, there is way too many ads. If you could get tone down the amount of ads a bit, it would be GREATLY appreciated!
Your’s truly, Alexis ✌🏻
Crashes all the time 1/5
By ahdukq ekcnabs
Every time I would try to download a series it randomly crashes I can’t have the app open for 10 minutes without it completely crashing and it is extremely frustrating
