Weav Run: #1 Running Music App

Weav Run is a music app for runners. Using groundbreaking technology, hit music automatically syncs to your footsteps—in real time! Access hundreds of top songs and curated playlists by your favorite artists on the app. Run, jog, sprint, walk—we cover every tempo from 100 - 240 steps/min. The music adapts to your stride! Enjoy tracks by Icona Pop, Clean Bandit, Rudimental, Portugal. The Man, Galantis, and many others at 122, 179, or even 220 beats per minute. We reengineer every song on the app with permission from the artists, so an artist’s voice never sounds like it’s sung by The Chipmunks. Weav Run puts you in control of the music with 2 modes to choose from: — MATCH MY STRIDE Weav Run keeps the music in sync with your steps while you’re running. The song’s beat will match every time your foot hits the ground. If you take more steps per minute, the BPM (beats per minute) increases with you. If you take fewer steps per minute, the song instantaneously adapts to this change and will play at a slower BPM. — FIXED TEMPO This mode enables you to set the BPM, and every song you hear will play at that exact tempo. You can also change this at any point during the run. Use this mode to help maintain a steady rhythm while running. It can also be used to help you optimize your cadence. Running at a higher cadence can reduce the risk of injury, increase running efficiency, and boost performance. Weav Run for improving cadence: Studies show that runners often match their steps with the rhythm of the music. The idea is that a higher BPM encourages you to take more steps per minute. And by matching your footfall to the beat, you can begin optimizing your cadence. Weav Run also features: PERFORMANCE TRACKING • Keep track of your run streak with our built-in counter • Measure your steps per minute (cadence) and use Weav Run to optimize your cadence • Track your run with GPS CONNECT & SHARE • Connect to Strava and share your route, photos, and cadence • Easily share on social media • Weav can run simultaneously with other apps like Strava, Nike+ Run Club, MapMyRun, Runkeeper, Runtastic, and any other run tracker • Weav Run integrates with the Health app to track and store workouts MUSIC • Featured artists: Clean Bandit, Demi Lovato, Icona Pop, Portugal. The Man, Rudimental, Olivia Holt, Clara Mae, Shawn Hook, The Knocks, and more! • All songs on Weav Run can play between 100 and 240 BPM without losing the integrity of the song. You never have to make another running playlist again. TRAINING • Pace your runs with music • Achieve a steadier running stride • Improve and fine-tune your running cadence • Motivate yourself during a run, jog, or walk • Spice up speed work, long runs, and everyday runs Try Weav Run during other activities like: • Yoga (set a low BPM for a soothing experience) • Cycling/Spinning • Skiing • Gym training • Kayaking ...and many more! Weav Run: #1 Running Music app reviews

  • Interface 4/5

    By TG1160
This app is by far the best pacing app available. Only trouble is that the phone app and watch app don’t seamlessly interface with each other. Treadmill experience is that while watching bpm on the phone, you cannot see distance or pace.... Also, very small next button to advance audio selection...
  • Needs a search bar 4/5

    By Clubbeddread31
I like this app but I want to run to post Malone better now. Please add a search bar
  • wow 2/5

    By Cesco2008
The main thing the app shows on ad is Music following your steps, but you have to pay for that
  • Don’t waste your time 1/5

    By Bradlb033
It’s a really cool idea but it’s one of those apps that make you give them your email, then don’t give you access to anything until you pay a ridiculous amount for the full version.
  • Dumb 1/5

    By 5starratings.
Says it is free on the ads but then makes you pay money when you want to run
  • Love it! 5/5

    By LeLa459
Used it for the first time tonight and it was great. I got sick of my own music and I thought I’d give this a shot. It’s really great! The music keeps ya going. Super easy to use. Love it!!
  • Seriously lacking good music 5/5

    By jutterface
The app is fine. It will help you increase your speed but it’s lack of good music is very disappointing. It doesn’t have any rock or metal! It doesn’t have any 80s hair band. It’s has a bunch of hippster techno crap and a bunch of people you never heard of if your over 35 years old. It may get these young kids motivated but for a 45 year old man it was a waste of money.
  • Heads up, not free 2/5

    By boskokitten
I’m sure it’s a decent app, but it’s not free. It also doesn’t seem to have a lot of music options yet.
  • Impressive but there’s a limit 3/5

    By marcoangara
Impressive selection, keeps up with my cadence... but I really hope I can just get away with my apple watch and leave my phone because it’s cumbersome to lug my phone while I run.
  • Confused 5/5

    By hamilton_lover07
I am not 9 I am over nine but how come on the app rating it says for 9+ when you are filling out your info you can’t go under 13 all in all the app is good for most people I do recommend
  • Needs work 3/5

    By Selbor15
Great concept, would give more. My only gripe is, the song tempo increases as you run. Making some songs sound absolutely horrid. I went into this thinking there would be a "smart" function. One that changes the song to an appropriate song where the beats per minute match my steps per minute. However all it did was speed up or slow down the song making some songs end in a minute or lasting normal play time. I like My Lovin by En Vogue as much as the next person. But when it sounds like a Chipmunks remaster simply due to the fact that I increased my running speed then I have to simply say A for effort. Brilliant idea, poorly executed.
  • FREE unless you want to use it. 1/5

    By AlphaKilo15
Waste of time, can’t use it to run with unless you purchase it. Why make it free to download but pay to use? Trash app.
  • My favorite workout app 5/5

    By Exitofin
This app help me to go faster when I need it the most, being able to speed up the music to my desire push me to be more efficient in every workout, not having to look for faster pace music, any song in the app work just scrolling the dial gives you the exact pace needed in every step.
  • Really, this is fake 1/5

    By Leela Beth
The entire concept I thought sounded good until I used the app. I decided to go for a run. I started running, wanted to use this app so it would match my steps. It doesn’t work. It won’t match and just plays random music. Might as well just use another music playing app.
  • Loved having the music match my steps 5/5

    By leeping4u
    Great first time
  • Money money money 1/5

    By Ellie Staab
All this asks for is money and I just want to run and have fun music but to do that you have to pay money like no thanks smh
  • Playlist 1/5

    By Omar 1
Ughhh. When are you going to update the playlist? Of course about the only playlist I listen to is the songs listed under “All the Way.” But long before I’ve listened to WR I have always preferred to run while either listening to progressive trance or psytrance.
  • Couldn’t find any rock or metal 3/5

    By Spike3905
Put in all the info including my age height weight etc. (For reference Im only 14 so that may be the problem considering that people my age don’t really like rock or metal) but when I click on the music in the bar below, the only genres they had were pop, hip hop, edm, and dance. But boiled down 2/4 of those things are pretty much almost the same thing. The reason I’m giving it three is because they may have a feature I don’t know about yet. but still the fact that they didn’t have the basic genres (I.e rock, indie, classical etc) is really disappointing
  • Why 1/5

    By xjjs cje
It’s horrible u have to pay to listen to music and for it to match steps like I can do this on YouTube for how much ohhh zero freaking dollars it’s a waste of precious time so don’t download if u don’t have money
  • So far I am not impressed 1/5

    By Btm007
You can’t play your own music!!! Only music that they have. So if your over 25 you probably won’t like any of the music. There is also a lag between your when you change running tempo change of the music.
  • Ugh 1/5

    By gumdrop the cat
You can’t even run without paying. Horrible
  • Shuts down before it even starts 1/5

    By cler65
Don’t bother, not only will this shut down every time you finish choosing your settings, they auto renew you the full yearly amount. Total waste of time. Worse most useless app I’ve ever tried.
  • Perfect running companion! 5/5

    By girlsrunGR
I have to have music when I run. And I’m trying to run at a certain BPM. Trying to find music I like to make a playlist has been quite frustrating, unless I want to listen to the same 4 songs over and over. :/ But with this app, I pick a playlist and simply dial the BPM up or down! Couldn’t be simpler!! Definitely worth the cost! Would highly recommend. Happy running!
  • NO NO AND NO 1/5

    By anonomous_7528
  • 5-stars as a free app... Pricey now 4/5

    By MWApps
As a free app, Weav Run was easily a 5-star app. At $40/yr (or $60/yr regular), it’s much harder to justify given the current limited (but slowly growing) catalog. I’m still within my 14-day “free” trial.
  • Constructive criticism 4/5

    By Narutofan6895
Even though I haven’t used this app for its intended purpose I like it but I’m a picky person when it comes to my music so it would be a cool idea to install a search option to search for certain songs instead of searching through all the pre-uploaded playlists that are already there.
  • Great app. Awful Strava integration 1/5

    By lickmygiggle
It really needs to be a simple option in the app whether or not to post a collage of all of the album art for the music you ran to in Strava.
  • Bitter taste 2/5

By Good memes for good children
It’s doesn’t have my favorite artist and this is just one of those New Years resolutions that didn’t work out
  • It’s not speeding up! 1/5

    By iamafivestarmarshmellow
Maybe you can help by responding and helping but the app doesn’t work and make the song speed up. Every time I try to pick the music mode it wants me to pay. Please help or fix the problem!
  • App won’t start just keeps loading??? 1/5

    By gabemarchant
I just downloaded this app 1/13/19 and the app won’t start???? I just keeps loading at the start screen?
  • Can adjust my tempo and speed 5/5

    By SueDel
The Weavrun app is great especially for training. If I want to speed up, I increase my tempo; slowing down the tempo for a leisure run.
  • Good concept but... 3/5

    By Wendy-Loo-Who
It looks like a lot of people really love this app, are motivated to run faster, and have found that it improves their pace significantly. That’s awesome and I’m really glad it works for them. I also think it’s amazing what they’ve done by re-engineering the music. I preface my review with admiration over that attention to detail since I’m a musician too. However to me the tempo changes are distracting, and a lot of the music just sounds too fast for its own rhythm, melody and phrasing. I thought maybe choosing a “Fixed Tempo” would solve it by playing only songs that are written for that particular tempo. While it does stay consistent, it does so by the same method, adjusting the tempo of every song so they still all sound rushed. It pretty much goes against all of my musical training to play something too slow or too fast and worst of all, to drag or rush the beat. Anyway, good luck to you all...it’s a fabulous idea. I’d love to try it again when I can choose a tempo and it filters to a playlist of songs in their original tempo.
  • Not what i needed 1/5

    By MelNeu87
I had to get a free trial just to see what this app does. I noticed immediately that this is not what i was looking for so i emailed where listed to cancel. I have now been charged for a year for an app i don't use and no-one from the support email has responded. If this is the only way to cancel after the free trial it needs to be reliable. I will keep reaching out until this charge is removed!!!
  • Difficult to navigate 2/5

    By kkMLS22
Good music, but there is absolutely nowhere to manage your subscription on the app. I have no idea if I’m paying monthly, quarterly, or annually and when the subscription started and ends. Very frustrating bc this makes it seem like the developers are trying to hold me in and stealing money from me.
  • Love it 5/5

    By cj_mark
I used it to run and helped me out quite a bit and I’m 340 I was able to run a full 2 min and I noticed when I was doing weights the beats didn’t let my heart rate go down I love that it had me going til the end
  • Wish they weren’t so expensive 2/5

    By renealemartinez
Loved this app when it first came out. After awhile it got really repetitive and I wish they focused on getting more top songs instead of obscure bands. Definitely a 4 1/2 rated app until they decided to charge $60 a year for it. They plan on discontinuing the free app (which they plan to not add music to) in the summer and that’s really unfortunate. I wish the price point was more realistic as $60 is a little ridiculous for a running app. If the price point was $15 a year or a one time fee of $20-$30 then maybe I’d consider it. I prefer just to stick to my Spotify playlists I’ve created at this point since I’m paying for that. I will say the customer support and overall staff is helpful and always trying to engage their customers. Unfortunately, Weavrun will lose me once they remove the free app.
  • What Deja Vu.... 4/5

    By Myles Hoffman
So I actually came up with an idea identical to this last June for an entrepreneurship project at my high school. Seeing a developer actually make this is pretty crazy. One thing though. The name of the app doesn’t convey the message that you will be running to the music. That’s why I called the app “Step to the Beat” when I first thought of the idea. Maybe you’ll wanna message me to see if I can give you guys some other ideas I’ve had in the works with this. I love the subscription based program though. It makes a lot of sense. Keep up the great work overall!
  • Having trouble with tempo 1/5

It won’t match my tempo do I need to pay for that
  • Scam Subscription 1/5

    By therealenlaa
Canceled my subscription (double checked it and no, I was not subscribed) but the app still charged me 59.99 a week before the actual renew date. Definitely reporting this.
  • Love It But Please Add Kpop Songs 3/5

Taking songs and speeding them up is not worth 40 a year.

    By Proudtuber21
I love this app so much! Not only do I use it for when I run but it It influences me so much on my other workouts!
  • Plays one song and stops... 3/5

I downloaded all of the songs as suggested to a previous reviewer and still the music stops after only one song. Any ideas?

  • It seemed cool, but was really bad 1/5

    By Ahkuf
I was so excited to use the app. The ads I saw for it make it seems superb. When it finally downloaded I was going to start using it and then I made a very shocking discovery that you cannot use this app unless you pay. Don’t waste your time and do not get this app.
  • Won’t let me use the subscription. 2/5

    By pure_joy7
On my phone settings, it says I’m subscribed to the app for a yearly subscription, but when I try to get on, it keeps saying to try again or the subscription didn’t go through or it can’t connect to the apple store :(
