  • Terrible changes 1/5

    By peanut music
Why did you change this? It doesn’t let you pick the part of the body, and if you say you’re in pain it doesn’t ask things like “is it dull, achy, sharp?” Etc. That’s important to know! It brought up things that were irrelevant because it didn’t ask enough questions PLUS I couldn’t put what sides my pain was on. I don’t like the changes. You should change it back. This new version it no good.

    Great app for medical assistance.
  • When you fix, let me know! 2/5

    By ThisTriniChick
This version does NOT allow you to elaborate on your symptoms. It also does not recognize a lot of pharmaceutical medications whether by brand or generic name. I think just downloaded it yesterday & I’m going to delete it today. I don’t think the new system checker can truthfully help me if it can’t get passed the medication part. Suppose my pain is a drug interaction problem? I truthfully miss the avatar which is NOT on this new update. At least it allowed me to get more specific about my pain.

Why can’t I find the “body” to chart my pain area.
  • Symptom checker updates = less accurate results 1/5

    By Bri1122
I like the old version of the body especially for stomach pain there are tons of different stomach pain that can mean tons of different things wrong that may not even be stomach. For instance husband most likely having gas pain or gallbladder pain but the only related question to his pain was where in the stomach it didn’t follow the pqrs (pain position, quality what it feels like, radiation does it go some where else and severity 0-10) which is basic assessing that it should. And it used to do. So when pain in right upper corner is the only answer I can give as for the stomach pain and it brings stomach cancer as the number one. This was not a good change to a decent app.

Hate the symptom checker update. Bring the body and options back. I do like that past med history is now included. But free text for specific locations is a poor design
  • Changed Symptom Checker 2/5

    By thestephness
They have changed symptom checker and now it doesn’t recognize any words. If I type “sore” it says no results but if I type “so” then a ton or “sore...” results come up. The recent changes are a huge downgrade as none of the functions work properly on the app or the website.

  • I miss the old version 1/5

    By Petite add
I like the old webmd format better where you could choose the part of the body on the body or choose from a list of conditions/body parts/areas and it would pop up conditions and symptoms, I like the old symptom checker this new version is horrible. Most of the symptoms, conditions, and meds I look for are not in there or not found. App is useless, will be deleting!

  • It helped me 5/5

    By Rakurudy
WebMD helped me to self diagnose my symptoms, then research it, finally ask my doctor when I was able to get an appointment...not easy these days :(. Some things I thought were serious, were explainable, so I didn't rush to emergency care.

  • Recent update 1/5

    By Scottcn08
Thanks to a recent update the app is no longer useable. You cannot enter accurate symptoms because the symptom list is decreased. Therefore an accurate look at what causes the current symptoms is impossible. Deleted the app.

    Crashed during use
  • medical terms/medications missing 1/5

    By Rowanne101
During 'intake' where you are laying out your symptoms WebMD also (wisely) asks for background info. Two items requested are medications taken and medical conditions known. These entries are a joke because so many legitimate answers are not available to choose from. These are very ubiquitous medications (such as Synthroid generally for hypo-thyroidism) and well-known conditions (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis - not under MS either). Only 3/13 of my medications are on the list to choose from even though only one is too new to be in the most current edition of the PDR (Physicians' Desk Reference; a list of drugs and info about them); all WebMD has to do is purchase rights to use the PDF as the source of their drug list. As for medical conditions if you simply offer a write-in option then assign someone to edit them all adding the legitimate ones to the official list you would solve that problem too. As it stands this app is useless.

If there are some type of ill brain idiot, that does not know how to dispose of their own or perhaps someone else in their family or an older persons of their un-used and out-dated pills and medication,.. there is absolutely no hope for them. Those that suggest taking them to an government agency are just stupid, as the people who received them, what in the Sam-Heck are the receiver’s going to do with them, or how are they going to extinguish them, they ain’t going to flush, burn or bury they are not going to throw them in a lake or river, so they are going to vaporize your old pills huh?
  • Last update is terrible 1/5

    By Ali0044
They took away the visually appealing human body inside the “Symptom Checker” section. What gives? Now, you have to manually type in what area of the body is effected instead of tapping on it. Also, if you took away the body, why still have it as the logo for the symptom checker? It will cause more confusion! If a CEO or higher officials of WebMD read this, please talk to your software team and tell them the app needs to bring that body back!

  • Useless 1/5

    By doesntmatter2me
    Absolutely useless
  • Hate new symptom checker 1/5

    By BillyDinPVD
An “update “ removed the list and body diagram from the symptom checker in favor of a rather opaque search system; worse, they seem to be missing several common medical conditions, symptoms, and medications. Absolutely useless.
  • Symptom checker: 2 thumbs down 3/5

    By Cherbob
The original symptom checker, touching the effected body part, was my favorite.
  • Bring back the old symptom checker 1/5

    By Mountainmouse
The new symptom checker is horrendously useless. It no longer allows selecting symptoms by body part, or scrolling through a list of general symptoms. Typing I symptoms leads to almost no results. For example, typing in “skin” does not bring up all possible skin symptoms. Selecting “dry skin” only brings up one condition, hypothyroidism. How does that make any sense? I’ve used WebMD for years, but if they do not fix this mistake, they’ve lost me as a user.

  • Hate it since the update 1/5

    By Wildhockey7
I hate that you can no longer point to a body part to get a list of symptoms. Also, when trying to put in a common symptom or medication it doesn’t recognize it. Very disappointed with the app since the update. Can I get the old one back?
  • Update problems 1/5

    By G2234G
The old version of the app was stellar. Since the update, however, the symptom checker, instead of choosing from a list based off body part, uses a system where you type your symptoms in and it gives you options from there. When inputting symptoms, even symptoms it offers as examples (such as nausea and headache) come back as “no result.” I used this app once after the update without issues, but now any symptoms typed in come back with “no result.” Also, conditions you input into your profile do not show up in symptom checker when it asks you about conditions (ex. Depression). Same thing happens with certain medications that aren’t as common.

    Symptom checker doesn’t work
  • Terrible new version 2/5

    By Libraryun
Why make changes that reduce the functionality? Did you test this with loyal users? Things missing in new version for Symptom Checker: Follow-up questions for more specificity Body map for choosing symptoms List of symptoms to chose from The new design could have still retained these functions. Why do this? WebMD app used to be my go-to. Now I might as well search the web because this interface has been reduced to that.
  • Beta symptom checker is horrible 1/5

    By h2odancer
The Beta symptom checker is horrible. The symptom search doesn’t show all possible options (ie searching for Red doesn’t show anything about skin, but yet searching ‘Skin Red’ shows 8 options), so you have to spend additional time and get creative with finding search terms. Then on the ‘Enter your history’ screen, the current medications search doesn’t include some common medications (eg Effexor XR - antidepressant, chlorthalidone- diuretic). The past or current conditions also lacks common and not so common conditions. It doesn’t have any variation of GERD aka acid reflux or heartburn Searching for obese or obesity only brings up ‘Past obese surgery.’ Don’t roll out a new/Beta feature to general public if your list of values doesn’t even include very common conditions.
  • It doesn’t work!!! 1/5

    By erpgnmw
I have put in my symptoms, conditions and I get no results. The pill identifier doesn’t even work and I just installed this app. Are you kidding me i’m trying to put my nickname in and everything I come up with is already been taken seriously!!! Instead of me having a nickname obviously I need to put my real name this is absolutely freaking ridiculous!!!
  • Symptom Checker Options Removed 1/5

    By popfizzz
This app was great until the recent update. Now the symptom checker just has you type in symptoms without choosing parts of the body or asking any followup questions. It’s essentially become just a fancy google. Pretty disappointed in the changes, there’s no reason to keep it on my phone anymore since the symptom checker was mainly what I used it for.
  • Beta test of Symptom Checker 1/5

    By RevDrKMC
Please go back to the original symptom checker. This new version is HORRIBLE! Far too time consuming and tedious to waste my time anymore. It wasn’t broke. Why did you try and “fix” it?

I miss the old checker that allowed you to click on a body part and have a list of possibilities. I had a concussion and that was never listed.

I liked the app when you can see a huge list of symptoms now you have to search it when no results even come up.
