Good training and music but the music turns off every time the coach talks 2/5
Music needs updating and improved options to stay on over other parts of app and other apps.
Would be much better to have larger fonts to see upon a glance when running
Would be much improved to see what the total work out on the front page.
Splits and gps summary are good.
I would not purchase this app again.
No better than free running apps 1/5
I normally use a free couch to 5 k app for running but I thought this would be different with an encouraging voice or instructor. Waste of time and money. The “instructor” talks just as much as a free app and the music choices are TERRIBLE. The running segments are literally identical to free apps. Don’t waste your money.
Great for any levels of fitness 5/5
I am very irregular with my workouts, but this app has helped me several times to get back into a routine with its running plans. I love the combination of walking/running in their programs that truly teaches you how to start running and actually make you feel that you are making progress within the first couple of weeks (e.g. being able to run for more minutes in a row each time, to running a 5k.
Mixed review 3/5
Like the plan and active part of the app. Hate that there are so many ads constantly for premium and spending money. Every time you try to click an ad off to see the whole screen it pops the premium ad back up! However, I like the plan enough to keep using it.
Free app 4/5
Before it’s free now How I can use it for free without upgradation

This app is great and easy to use. I love it!!!
Good way to start.... 2/5
I am not a runner but for my body type and maybe others it’s the best way to lose weight. The app is a good way to start running with their walk/jog interval programs. I will say the calorie counter is misleading. Stand still and just watch that thing fly. Smh it’s a shame. If you count calories for weight loss do not rely on what the app says you burn. I use it and let my Fitbit tell me what I have actually burned after a workout. Outside of that no complaints. Good for what it is. 2.5 months in and I’m 25 pounds down!
Great program for a newbie 5/5
Using the 5K plan. It’s very easy to follow and appropriately challenging
Great except meal plan is for this with money 4/5
By Chaline L.
This app is great for the running but, but when it comes to the food, if you do not have money, it will be very difficult to eat the foods they suggest.
Could be so much better 3/5
I like this app for running and the pace it sets with each program. You can listen to your own music with it, a major plus. But it can be so much better by including 2 simple things right off the bat.
1. When finished with a work out you should be able to maybe press and hold an ‘end workout’ button instead of having to press several different screens to end
2. You should be able to view ALL workout history/stats somewhere, instead of just that particular program
I mean for a $9.99 monthly membership, let’s get it together. You haven’t made any changes or updates to your app worth mentioning in over two years.
Can’t change the meal plan 2/5
Just at first glance the idea of the app is great! But upon playing with the app I found that you couldn’t add or change preferences to the meal plan. I would love to follow the meal plan to a T but the eating 5 times a day has NEVER worked for me I know that’s a simple fix on my part but being that I’m a picky eater and am allergic to things such as peanut butter it would be nice to be able to put my preferences in the app and have recipes I’d actually use instead of just getting what I get.
Awesome app 5/5
Awesome app! I completed 8 weeks 2 level looking forward more!
Could be better 3/5
The meal plans do not include nutritional facts. I found a music mix that I love but have not had luck finding others that I also really like so I have music variety. It would be awesome if it prompted you for “others who liked this mix, also listen to this one”. The music mixes are longer than the workout time so I never get to hear the second half. Would be cool if it was broken up into segment so I can switch between the first half of mix and second half on alternating days. The app does not recognize that I haven’t worked out for a few days or a week i.e. vacation, so it throws you right into an intense workout instead of scale back/ ease you back into the program. The Premium Club tab never had any content which is annoying because I pay for the app. I will probably cancel after my 6 months and start looking for other options.
Running feedback 5/5
By Hobbes Dwight
Love the motivation and someone else telling me what to do🥰!!
Great FREE app 5/5
This is a great app with awesome workout plans and the beat part about it...you pay nothing! Occasional add here and there but not as annoying as most work out apps! Great job guys!!!
Great so far 3/5
The running part of the app seems great so far. It works with locked mood and the voice that talks to you sounds friendly. The running intervals are better than some other apps I’ve tried.
My real issue is the subscription part. The app’s description says it’s $9.99/month or there’s a 6month plan and a life time plan. However when I go to manage my subscriptions in iTunes, there is only the options of $9.99/WEEK or $119.99/year. I was gonna pay but I don’t think it’s worth that much every week or to pay that much for a years worth.
Great interval app but.... 1/5
I have used this app for years. At one time I accidentally purchased something through the app and had to cancel it once I realized it. I continued to use the free interval training programs. Ever since that in-app purchase would have expired I have not been able to use any section of the app. I’m very disappointed with this. I would like to continue using this app but I can’t without paying $40-60 for what my running partner gets for FREE. That’s very frustrating to me.
Not paying for something that used to be free 1/5
The app is free but the training is no longer free. I loved it. But after the update, it prompts me to try the first 7 days free and the I have to pay monthly. I used this app in-between my marathon training to keep up with it and now it won’t allow me to use it. I’ve tried backing out of it or using the x in the corner but it won’t let me get past the subscription screen. I will be deleting this app.
PUSHES ME! 5/5
Honestly, this app pushes me. If it wasn’t for this app I’m not sure I’d run as much or as hard. I’d give quicker without this app. Originally I signed up for the free trial and was hoping I’d forget to cancel .. AND I DID. It was 61$ for 6months which I wouldn’t have knowingly paid but I’m glad I forgot. I mainly use it just for the interval running and can I just give a shout out to them bc THEY INCLUDED CHRISTIAN MUSIC as one of the music genres. In world that tries to push out Jesus I’m glad they didn’t! Only thing I would ask is that you add different types of Christian music Bc the rock stuff gets annoying sometimes. Maybe do DJ mixes of gospels/Christian tracks like the other ones. If that makes sense.
They charge you for annual subscriptions even after you’ve cancelled them! 1/5
I want my money back!!!
No way to use the app in free mode 2/5
It’s a good app, but it doesn’t work in the free mode. Every time I open the app, it makes me sign up for the 1 week trial or subscribe to monthly/yearly plan.
Great app 4/5
Love the app, just wish the price was more reasonable. Also wished the app didn’t pause once the screen locks. Other than that, absolutely love it.
This app is the only one I use for my running goals. It has motivated me to do better and has never failed me in the three years I’ve been using it. AMAZING!
It HELPS! 5/5
By E Desir
This app has definitely helped me lose 10 pounds a month ! I lost 30 pounds and saw strength and a new me. I gained the weight back due to my own carelessness of eating but I’m back at it again with a goal to lose 50 lbs by January
Great App! 4/5
I just don’t have the funds for it. The time that I use it, has been very great. They have upbeat music
Horrible user interface. 1/5
After using this for nearly a year and it having moderately ok quirks in the free portion started on opening and requires you to pay with no opt out back into the free side. Thought this would go away after a week or two but after logging in from different devices and accounts it won’t go away. Was decent before this but has always not been the smoothest operating app.
Didn’t like it 1/5
The app is free but then once you get it it wants you to pay 120$ a year which is ridiculous
Don’t Bother!!! 1/5
Back when this app was “free”, I paid to have all ads removed and they said that this was a lifetime thing. Now they have changed the whole app to a subscription thing and they will not honor the money that I have already paid them. Don’t even bother! They are nothing but liars and cheats! If I could read zero stars I would but since I can’t I’m going to give them one star which is a hell of a lot more than they deserve!
not worth it 1/5
this app is not worth having to pay $10 a week. i tried the 7 day free trial and then it charges you $10 a week. that’s $40 a month. not worth it.
total scam..was charged over $100 for trial. Trying to get refund. 1/5
By T Chalaby
It never stated anywhere that had to pay for this app until you fill out stuff and get to step 3
Loss weight 5/5
It’s a fantastic app
I can’t get it to work. Frozen 1/5
I downloaded it to start training for a 10k
Far, frustrated with it. Frozen!
Pretty good 4/5
I like the running portion of the app and like that there is a recipe portion too. My issue is that the recipes and ingredients are not always correct.
Great app 5/5
This app is great for beginners or for people returning to running after a long absence. I'm running my first 5K in a month thanks to this app.
First day 2/5
I just don’t like to run. But I’m enjoying the music and the coach telling me when to start and stop.
TERRIBLE SERVICE 1/5
The worst service I have ever encountered. The app claims you are eligible for a refund within 90 days. When I contacted customer service they said I should go through Apple. I have now spent 3+ hours with verv and Apple combined trying to get a refund and no one will help. They are liars and trying to mislead their customers!
Terrible don’t do it 1/5
I tried the free trial and forgot about it and they ended up charging me 41.99 for 6 months 😩 I’ll never use this app because the I don’t find any of the functionality useful while I run. Spotify and Strava are much stronger applications with a plethora of more options, especially for runners. Do yourself a favor and don’t download this.
Costs only after you download 1/5
This is such a disappointing AP, can’t access anything without doing a “free” 7 day trial that you would have to remember to cancel. If you want to charge as soon as someone opens the app, just be upfront and charge for the app for a limited access with in app purchases.
I used to love using this app so I need to start running again and now I have to pay 😭 I used this for years
What happened to limited free edition? 1/5
I loved it but when I changed phones the free edition was gone. Don’t live it enough to pay for it. There are tons of other free apps out there that are comparable or better.
Great running app 5/5
I ever wrote app reviews, but I LOVE this app. If you are looking for something to ease you into a running routine that won’t injure or stress out your body this is right for you. I’ve been using it for about 8 weeks and can now easily run 4+ miles and feel great after. I was looking for a basic app that could get me going and keep me on track on a running routine. At time of purchase I considered myself a “casual jogger” but I have a tendency to pretend I’m 20 again and overdo it when I run then get injured. This eased me back into a good routine and keeps me motivated to keep going!
Here’s what I like about this app:
Simple interface. Push the go button and start running. I wanted something that didn’t talk to me a lot and gave me a breakdown of important info like where and how far I ran and calories burned. This does just that. The app basically tells you to “walk” or “run” or “sprint” for a certain amount of time. Simple and perfect for me. The gps is reliable and you can adjust how much the app speaks to you. I like that it gives you periodic updates on time elapsed, distance covered, calories burned, and average speed so I don’t need to look at my phone to know my stats. It also tells you when you are halfway finished with your run so you know to turn around (I spent the last few weeks running on unfamiliar country roads so this was very valuable to me so as not to stray to far). There’s a lot of extra “stuff” the app offers like meal plans and hydration tracker, but I don’t have interest in that stuff so I don’t use it. They also do not harass you to use those estar things so they’re easy to ignore if, like me, you just want a running app.
Things I don’t like:
The app provides music to play during your run but I haven’t listed to it so can’t comment on its quality. Instead I play from my iTunes. This might be the only thing I’ve had issues with— when you adjust the volume to your music it sometimes mutes the app— my solution is simply to quickly pause then restart the workout and that resets the volume. So basically it’s not a problem!
I love this app. I amazing myself by how easy it is to run longer and longer distances. I’ve lost weight, toned up and feel strong!
This App Has Truly Improved My Life 5/5
I started using this app in September of 2018. I weighed 222 pounds and was very discouraged about my fitness and appearance. I had tried other running apps with little success after burning out. As of today, I now weigh 185.2 pounds and my physical and mental health have both dramatically improved. The app has a variety of plans, but I highly recommend following their beginner weight loss stage 1 religiously. It was tough at first, but slowly my cardiovascular strength increased. I can now run over 3 miles without stopping. I never knew I had this in me. I can now confidently say I am a “runner.” Thank you VERV team for changing my life.
This app used to be free with the option to upgrade for a fee. Not about to pay $42-$99 for a running app. Get with it.
Greatest Run Training App ever!! 5/5
All levels can use this app for training!
Love this app! It is making me love running. 5/5
It is challenging for a beginner but it is actually making me love running. I actually look forward to this short, well planned runs.
Can’t even try out the app 1/5
Keeps saying app purchase failed.
Made for outdoor workouts and slow app 1/5
By Kristin A B
The robot voice (not real trainer) who tells you when to run or walk doesn’t tell you what speed to go. That’s fine for running outside...but if you’re doing the app on a treadmill that isn’t too helpful...unless you’re okay setting your own pace on a treadmill. The app is slow and the music option lags. Nutrition plan isn’t too bad. Overall I’d recommend getting Aaptiv instead for workouts, and googling to learn what to eat and what proportions of fat protein fiber and carbs you should eat for each meal.
