Sneaky about subscription payment! 1/5
Be careful when downloading and exploring the app. It advertises a ‘1 week free trial’ to explore the app’s features - but then will charge you for a 40 dollar subscription. BTW canceling the subscription via your settings wont refund you, so you’ll have to go through the painful process of applying for a refund through Apple. If you’re ok with the subscription cost to use the app, go for it! But if you’re not committed to paying $40 upfront before looking closer at the app’s features - don’t do it.
230 lbs 5/5
About 3-4 years ago I weighted 230lbs and my one miles was about 35-40 minutes.
I knew cardio was crucial and my my doctor just diagnosed me as a diabetic and I was in denial.
When I first started tuning my joints were screaming for help. My fat would bounce around and cause so much pain and I wish to THE DIVINE SPIRITS that they made a sports bra for your ass....
Nonetheless this app was my saving grace. I was only able to run maybe a mile or two but kept stopping and I hated it.
This app and the funny/ means coach was amazing. I would be running and laughing And even when I wanted to die and give up before he said “walk” I didn’t because I trusted this app and I trusted the coach to push me but keep me safe lol, so weird to say out loud.
Anyways. I haven’t used this app in about a year but I’m about to subscribe again and restart my fitness journey.
So excited to love running again. Thank you for this app.

After a 2-year hiatus from all training, I used this app to get me back into a running routine. I LOVE having a “coach” with me on my runs! I don’t have to think about my workouts—I get to just do them.
I began with the Start Running plan, which would be great for anyone just starting. It’s a walk-jog program that just gets you moving. After that, I wasn’t sure which plan to try and sought advice from the Support page. I expected a generic response but instead received thoughtful, detailed guidance specific to my own experience. WOW! I also love that there are 3 workouts per week, which is consistent but not overwhelming—and it’s interval training without having to plan it. I just start my workout and follow the verbal cues. It offers variety while building my speed.
I can’t say enough good about this app. I do the premium (not pro), and there are meal suggestions and a water log water and health tips. You also earn badges along the way, which is just kinda fun.
Apple Watch “app” has no interactive purpose 3/5
All the watch extension of this app does is remind you to drink water, if you set it to do so - but they also come from your phone, so it’s not that special. You can’t see the progress/stages of your run on the watch screen. I wear my phone on my arm band when I run, and I hate having to stop my run to look at my progress. You have this function on the full Verv app, so I know you can make this happen. Get it done!

First day using app and I’m impressed. I like the way program is set up -3 min walk and 3 min run intervals- that I chose for beginners. I also like the food menu recommendations with recipes!

On my first workout the “trainer” alerted me when it was time to switch gears (run, walk, etc.). Halfway through the workout the alerts stopped. On my second workout I had only the first alert. Nothing following...
I have checked the settings. NOT happy with this situation!

Good but can’t connect HRM 5/5
I’m able to do the beginner workouts and they are a good challenge. This training appears to mimic the couch-to-5K plan. The weird this that the workouts show a heart rate meter but there’s no option in the settings to connect a heart rate monitor. I tried my chest strap anyway to see if it automatically connects and it doesn’t. I don’t wear wrist heart rate monitors because they never work on me. So the lack of HRM on this app is a bummer.
Update: Apple Watch 3 works with this app!

Alive only been using this app for a few days but I love it! I’m only critique is that there needs to be more vegan and vegetarian options as a a vegan myself it is extra work having to make the meals but find alternatives especially with all the protein based meals.
Calorie count a little off. 4/5
I love this app, I’ve ran to with about 6 times now and start both the app and Apple Watch Run Mode at the same time however, I did notice that the app was giving me about 100+ calories more than the Apple Watch.
If you are really big into accurate calorie count I would string more to the Apple Watch. The app does have really good music mixes as well as nutrition plans. I’ve read some reviews with the coach being silenced during the screen off. I personally have not ran into this issue and my screen is off for the full run.

App questions 3/5
I’m writing this review in hopes that the developers will answer. There seems to be a discrepancy in the app. I use it to track my distance when walking, I’m not able to run just yet. Anyway, after my last walk, I took a screen shot of the app and it said that I had walked 4.24 miles. Then immediately after that (while standing still), I ended the workout and the app showed my final results. On that, it showed that I had walked 4.53 miles. So now I’m confused as to how far I actually walked and how accurate the app even is.

has helped me so much on my journey, i couldn't recommend it more for any beginners or anyone that wants to lose weight
So I used to use this app a few years ago and it drastically helped my PT test. I recommended it to fellow soldiers. I’m getting back into improving and now you have to pay for plans!! It used to be completely free. So don’t get me wrong, it’s a great app, but not worth $60 a year.

This is just another run tracker but this one costs money. Waste of time and nothing like the ad that says it will tell you how much you need to run to get to your weight loss goal. Waste of time. Don’t spend the money.

It has happened to me the second time!
I have the monthly renew subscriptions but the app would ask me to subscribe again every time after I had it for like 2 months. The first time I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It deleted my user history and I had to resubscribe. I thought it was caused by the iPhone system update. But I haven’t updated my system since. This is the second time that happened to me. I have the plan through the next month but I can’t use it because the app itself is asking me to pay for it when I’m already paying for it!!
Will not recommend.

No way to put in what you actually eat. Did not mean to purchase the yearly was going to try the seven days free then go monthly but it picked up the yearly cost. I just wasted $40.

The only thing free about this app is the 7-day trial period. Once you download the app you are offered a free trial that then, switches to a paid version. There is no mention anywhere of a free version being available once the trial period runs out.

I’m not an app person but I can assure you this is the BEST app ever!!!!!!! I do a lot of weight training but ZERO cardio. I’m skinny sobI thought I did not need it. A friend of mine recommended this app and now I’m hooked to cardio. I use to get bored running 3 miles at the same pace all the time. Now I enjoy it, cause the daily routine makes a mix of running, sprinting and walking. I sweat 😓 like crazy and how my app trainer says in the routine “sweating is FAT crying”. Make sure you have a buddy to run. I have my brother and we share the audio, since we both have a set of AirPods, and it’s awesome cause we both listen to the app instructions at the same time. Make sure you choose your level right. We started at Stage 1 INTERMEDIATE. We are in week 7 out of 8. I’m finally seeing the results of combining weights with cardio. Make sure you Read the tips in the app as they are super useful. Only run three times a week and leave a day in between. You won’t regret getting this app. Soon you will be recommending it to friends that hate doing cardio like me😀.

I paid for premium but the app didn’t work . It wouldn’t download any of the music mixes and didn’t adjust the bpm. I wrote customer an email but the problem wasn’t fixed and I was still charged. I’m very disappointed with the customer service.

I was supposed to get 7 day free trail but was charged the first day for a year. Price isn’t horrible but meals are all fish and I cant eat sea food. So only the running part is useable for me. I have only tried one day so far and don’t think I will really use it sad to say I lost $40 bucks.
