I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service. The functions of the calendar are clunky and unintuitive. The phone app regularly malfunctions. My coworkers and I constantly have to go back, and revise our time sheets because of random aberrations. Tech support is of no help. This service will leave employers and employees alike disgruntled and dissatisfied.

After spending a hour developing a schedule I was asked to upgrade. When I declined, I was not able to proceed. Stuff like this shady af. Deleting the app and will not recommend to other stores in our franchise. It’s a shame because it was easy to use.

The app is very glitchy and while it gets the job done it’s just very slow, especially the work chat part and can I PLEASE suggest that you guys add a feature where you can delete old work chats with people who no longer work there!

Overall the app is great, simple and easy to access for any level of smartphone app users. I haven't had any actual issues so far but there had been few times where the app screen became unresponsive then eventually crashed. Restarting app over again usually is not a big issue but it is for staff (especially drivers who are on the road) may forget to clock in again during busy times. But really, it really is not that of an issue. Every now and then, I personally may miss some of the to do's within the app when I log in. It may happen when work is in moving pace for caterer, and there's a chance it could happen. Lastly, i have a suggestion for an idea that it probably will require lot of hard work, considering among doing research and planning but it might make the staff and all the fellow people who works at Chewse and use this app bit more simple. By creating an app that functions as the only sole app, mother app with every aspect and runs compatible with all the needed function like safely maintaining all account orders of all the recipients as well as vendors section that allows comments, review , reporting on all the party of staff, recipient, and from vendors. Also keeping track of expenses, GPS tracking, scheduled work hours with chat lounge, news and all the current events, and informations and etc. necessities that will no longer require and replace the apps that each requires registration. It is challenging to make such app but it is not impossible. I believe that with accurate information and well studied research and thoroughly thought out plan and a great team of members that want to accomplish same such goal, advancing the current way of operating whole as a company. Please note, this suggestion is merely from someone who has little to zero knowledge in the industry, tech world, legal eligibility and other things that will come with it.
Some serious drawbacks 3/5
I don’t like only being able to see a week at a time for “my shifts”.
What’s even worse is that although it claims to sync with Google Calendar, there’s a delay of sometimes weeks before a shift appears on my google calendar, which makes the syncing pretty darn useless.
The updates are great. I love that I have immediate knowledge of my schedule. It also, and I'm a manager so I find this valuable, let's me know when employees miss time punches so that updates can be made.

Clunky, Slow, 1990’s App 2/5
We’re stuck using this for work. Prior to the “updates” it was okay. Now it’s slow and often times out meaning we don’t get clocked in or out at the right time and someone has to fix our hours.
There’s no way to filter the Attendance section by schedule.
The Clock In page is poorly designed and takes a very long time to function, if it does at all.
This app feels like they tried to stuff in their website with little consideration for making a sleek, functional app.
There’s NO reason a scheduling app should halt the playing of music from my phone when I open it. When accessing work chats, the music you’re listening to automatically stops.

Before I was able to see my available jobs that I was scheduled for throughout the week. But i wanted I cant see anything. It’s just blank. It would be really nice if this issue is fixed. I talked to my job and they said it’s a issue with the app. Please fix this so I can be organized again with my schedule

I work for a major airlines and we use this app to track our shift drop split and trade we also use the history to keep track of who we picked up because w have to note it the day we work. As of yesterday. The history is not there for us. We deleted and reinstalled still not working please fix asap
Also are team is large and we drop pick up swap and split a lot. Daily we have to put who we are working for. Can there be an added feature that when we pick up a shift that there is another line stating who we are working for it will eliminate a lot of issues for teammates and add the capabilities for teammates to add personal notes to a work schedule as a personal reminder. Right now it's only a supervisor feature. It will help teammates when we need to remind ourself for future task in one place.

Stop messing with things that aren’t broken!! These updates with new interfaces just keep making it more and more difficult to use! I changed one day and then it all of a sudden says im availabile all day that day! I cannot change it it keeps saying there a conflicting date well my employer hasn’t scheduled me that day, and I can’t change my hours! I have no choice but to use this app and its going to end up costing me conflict with my employer since it says im “availabile all day” when in fact i am not!! Stop messing with a good thing!!

Love the app, but, the new update is not stable. It has crashed a few times on me and it makes me re-login every day.
The app is back on track. It is the best way to stay connected with coworkers and stay on top of your schedule.
Attendance needs work 2/5
I’m a huge fan of When I Work we recently started using the attendance app as well. However It takes me almost an hour every pay period to fix my staffs hours. When I work doesn’t offer any kind of automated rounding which would stop unintended overtime. Example an employee clocks in 3 minuets early and clocks in 4 minutes early from lunch and then 3 minuets late clocking out. So every day you have 10 minutes of overtime, that adds up to a huge amount of unintended and in un- authorized overtime. If they would provide an option for overtime rounding that is already approved by the labor department It would make processing payroll much quicker.
Btw the law states under 8 minutes round down over 8 minuets round up. 8:03 gets rounded to 8:00 and 8:08 gets rounded to 8:15
Hopefully this gets addressed soon.

I had a bad initial experience; but, after deleting and reloading the app, it Almost became useable. My main suggestion now would be to change the placement/color of the Clock in/clock out button, and the Take Shift button. They are the same and easily confused in haste. I picked up a shift unintentionally, because I was trying to clock in. The app froze...couldn’t clock in. Back out and came back in...pushed the button. Apparently came back to a different screen and ended up signing up for a shift that I didn’t want.
Another update: received notification that the schedule for the upcoming week was released...so contractors can pick up time blocks. I cannot see any of them. Next week is blank. In fact, every day is blank. I’ve never been able to access this to sign up for blocks. Ever. Which means I can’t get priority on the jobs.
In case I’m just missing something, I tried their tutorial videos...and what do you know?...they don’t play. None of them. Every one is a black screen. Well done.

I’ve enjoyed using this app for the last two years with my job. It’s made life for my staff so much easier being able to log into the app and see our schedules! I don’t know what I’d do without it.

Where did the map in the dashboard go? 4/5
In the previous versions there was a map with the job sites labeled for iPhone users and just a regular map with colors for android users. Well now it’s gone completely for iOS and I don’t know about android. I haven’t checked with my staff, but having the maps appear with the job sites and the pulsating GPS fence would be great for both platforms. Actually vital. It helps Staff find there way, especially if they aren’t too tech savvy or have a good sense of direction. Other than that, I’m happy.

The app allows all my people to check their schedules, swap shifts and chat with each other all in a professional manner. Not to mention I'm able to take requests off, approve them and change my schedule all from my phone!

When I Work has rocked my world in terms of scheduling software. I have used this product for 5 years and love it, my team of 55 employees love it. I no longer hear “I don’t know my schedule”. I no longer have a crap ton of sticky notes with people’s availability. It is so easy to learn. I don’t know why you wouldn’t at least try it

A Must-Have for our Soccer Program 5/5
This app is an incredibly useful and is a versatile program for our soccer company. We use it daily to make sure that our coaches are scheduled correctly, and the clock in clock out feature is perfect. Although there is a slight learning curve to understand the app, I would say it’s very much worth it!

Pretty clunky, not very intuitive, no way to set defaults for schedule preferences. You have to toggle off the repeat by day, week, month or year option each time you enter availability. Now getting emails promoting the app and asking me to tell my friends. An “urgent alert” sent telling me to download the app on my phone - when I already have it on my phone. I got the alert through the app while using it on my phone! I will be curious to see how long my company tries to use this, it’s already there second roll out since the first didn’t seem to go smoothly.
App has some issues clocking in and out but nothing deal breaking.
However, I have two jobs and I have to set my schedules around each other. So the fact that the availability options don’t even work let alone allow me to change them is quite frustrating. I changed one days availability and it was a Wednesday because I work a night job from Wed-Fri after I get done with my day job. And now, not only does it not show my changes in availability on Wednesday but it won’t even let me change the availability on the later days in the week; Thursday, Friday. Availability is a crucial feature in a work scheduling app. Fix it. Thx.

Is there a way to disable shifts? We have a changing staff that work events. Each event is 3-4-5 days. We are either at the event or not. Would like a way to message Just the staff that is at a particular event without it going to everyone in the app.
We tried WhatsApp but that only sends to everyone.
If it’s too complicated to back engineer into the whenIwork app, hoe about a ehatEventDoIWork app?

One of the worst app to use for scheduling and customer service. Their app didn’t work for a long time. It crashed a lot and their customer service is never helpful to fix problems instead they say “company policy” which means as a customer you pay monthly fee for the service I didn’t get for months. They were not helpful to resolve the problem.

“Availability” section no longer works. 1/5
I have the same complaint as many others: The availability section, once functional and easy to understand, is now essentially broken. I noticed the the response to all previous complaints was to go to the help section, so I did. I attempted to fix my availability step by step, as instructed by When I Work, and still I am unable to make changes to my availability. There must be a glitch because no matter what I’m met with the same response, “This preference conflicts with another [date].” Something is messed up, please fix ASAP. My next semester starts very soon and I must update my employer. Thank you.

Says I’m not at location when I’m standing at the front door. Have no other issues with 20 other apps using my location but this one! Says flagged for review because I’m supposedly not where I’m supposed to be. What a joke!

Note to app developers: update and enhance your app much more often. For a work app that you pay for, all of our restaurant staff has had issues with the app crashing, freezing, and often times being unable to catch up with itself. Schedule feature glitches and above all, the chat portion is a major issue for all of us. NEEDS bug fixes and regular refreshes via app updates.
With my job we only are able to use it to see our schedule that’s it.! Not for changing schedules or even requesting off we have to go online to our portals for those.! But it’s very good for what i use it for which is just to check my schedule.! I gave it four stars because i have it to remind me of my schedule through text i never get a text and i even have it to let me know when i get my new schedule it lets me know an entire day later after i checked the day before then it reminds me a day later.! Other than that it’s great for what i use it for.!
Fortunately they fixed this problem, but I would urge them to be more careful before sending app changes live. We hate having our productivity blocked by apps that are supposed to be improving our productivity. Old Review: App is now blocked by Find my Workplace. I have been using this app for a couple of years, but will have to find a new one if this is not fixed soon.

Availability no longer usable 1/5

I am an MFA student, so being able to set my availability for different parts of the year is incredibly important. With the old version, this was incredibly easy to do. I was able to set different availabilities for different parts of the year, set when they started and ended, and add names and descriptions for each, making it easy for both me and my employer.
But since the new update, that is impossible. The interface for availability has become confusing, and setting specific dates is no longer apparently possible. Any change made to a specific day is applied to all dates indefinitely, regardless of what the starting date or end date is set as. It is effectively impossible to set an availability beyond the current week, an even then it must be entered day-by-day using a calendar.
This is unacceptable. I have no choice but to use this app, since my employer set it up, and now I have to submit my availability by hand and hope it’s respected. This may actually cost me shifts in the long run, since my employer is already inflexible with the schedule as it is. I imagine I’m not the only user in this situation. Please return the availability menu back to its previous, usable form.
