Good App 5/5
Wildfire is a good app to learn about what is happening around campus.
Great support 5/5
I had a problem with claiming when my friend used my link, the support line helped me through it very easily! Also a great app!
Would’ve been a Five 2/5
The app is fine except for the fact that dark mode is locked behind completing 3 successful friend invites. Why is that a thing?
Short- first week experience ( loving it ) 5/5
I’m a college student and I promote social events from all different sizes and themes. Wildfire has been a great tool in communicating and keeping in touch with what else is happening on my campus. Over all this app is looks snazzy and is very freaking responsive. Other apps crash too much.
Possibly more future updates.
I do not like it 1/5
I did not see any serious, important messages. I honestly felt like this was just a knock off version of twitter. People we not talking about anything that really had to do with stuff going on in the school community.
I invited people to join and they did they my link and it doesn’t give me my rewards smh
The app is good in theory, but its mis-used. You'd hope it'd be kept clear so that alerts were easy to see, but there are just a bunch of college kids posting irrelevant crap.
This app is ingenious!! 5/5
By dope and awesome
This app is going to save my life, not literally but also figuratively. It give you the best and most needed alerts, you can connect with people you don't already know, you can get involved in events that you would have never known about!!, you can even share MEMES!
By Mac P Singer
Crashes constantly, won’t let me re-log in to the account, and is just garbage. Not useful if I can’t even use it!
Really Great 5/5
By Buzzy was a Bear
Great for news, alerts and funny college stuff!! I freaking love it. Also the customer support is freaking awesome.
Stop begging me to review your app please!!!!! 1/5
Or il keep rate you 1 star everytime
Nothing about actual wild fires. 1/5
By wild will hickok
Very miss leading app.. disappointed
Amazing app that connects to student body 5/5
I love how easy it was to connect to people on campus. Within a year of it launching its user base skyrocketed. I love how it’s going to continue to expand and reach more UCD students to connect, network, & share!
Wildfire is awesome 5/5
I get to be connected with my campus community! ❤️
Not looking for a dating program 2/5
I downloaded this app to obtain information about a local forest fire. During setup it asked for my age, college email address First and Last name plus permission to sent notifications about events in my area. That is when I bailed out of the app. I downloaded Fires app and could not be happier with that app. BTW I am 63 years old and happily married.
Horrible Glitch and Representatives 1/5
I have texted the reps about 3 times to let them know that my app keeps connected to UC Davis and I do not attend that school they have told me multiple times they will fix it and nothing has been done and the last time I message them they haven’t responded back. They have very horrible people working to fix it.
Not working, please fix 1/5
“Sorry! We’re having trouble loading” constant error every time I open the app. I cannot see anything and then it closes itself. Nothing is working
Instant fix 5/5
They fix the glitches or whatever problem with app instantly, that’s so unexpected👍🏻
Block people 3/5
By Madii Jordan
It’s a useful app but I wish we could block and report users directly. There’s a guy on my app who always makes racist/sexist remarks on every post and I can’t get rid of him. Please let us block people or make a better reporting system because nothing is getting done.
Great to use! 5/5
This app has been super useful to get current updates around campus stuff and also news in general.
Barely works 2/5
I can see everyone’s posts, but i have to click on them at least 25 times before they expand and show the entire post. Terrible UX/UI, needs improvements
Not working 3/5
They updated the app and now nothing loads for me :(
Not worth it 1/5
Great for emergency notifications BUT riddled with trolls and meaningless ranting of faceless profiles.
Good app 5/5
Very Helpful app. Found lots of new people and it gives me heads up of everything that is happening around me . I love the fact that students can communicate between each other.
The app won’t load 1/5
By iz waldo
I just installed the app since I got a new phone and the app isn’t loading at all or ever.
Best network to talk to your fellow students 5/5
Honestly this app is one of the best social platforms simply because it connects students from campus to share events and concerns. It’s pretty much a campus exclusive Twitter.
UNSAFE FOR STUDENTS 1/5
This app is extremely unsafe, you can create an account without actually having a .edu email. You could literally make something up and it would allow you into the app, no questions asked. I have been harassed on this app for months now and the moderators have done nothing to help my problem, despite reporting this user who DOES NOT EVEN ATTEND A UC let alone the one I am enrolled at, and he is relentless. Very poor service, I don’t think I can continue using this unless something changes.
Great app! 5/5
Talked in person with the wildfire team! Highly responsive to feedback 😅
This app fills the void left behind from Yik Yak and does a even better job. A must if your on campus!
Perfect for communicating with fellow students 5/5
I love coming on this app everyday to see my college community communicate through the means of safety alerts, chatting for fun, getting helpful tips and even buying and selling items from others. I would seriously recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have it at my school and to those colleges that don’t have this amazing wonderful app.
Hit or Miss 1/5
Every other update messes up the app and causes crashes
The app keep crashing
Awesome app 5/5
I personally spoke with the creator of Wildfire. He really has great intentions and I personally love this app. It’s a great platform with no one calling each other out or exposing others. No bullying at all compared to other school apps that has no limitations and gives people the platform to harass others. This is a nice app to check what’s going on at school before your University even sends out a message to the public. It shows you that your fellow peers around campus truly care for your safety and to give you a heads up of anything dangerous. Definitely download this app, you’ll love it.
Need update 1/5
Force quit when I tried to reply the post
Best App 4 School Events 5/5
By 9th Grade Student
As a new freshman, this was an easy way to get into the groove of school. I’d defiantly recommend it if you’re bored and don’t know what to do on campus.
This is the best app for ANY campus updates or safety alerts!
By Alex Schemery
I love this app! As a freshman college student this app is amazing for finding out information about events, safety notifications, and meeting new people. It’s extremely helpful and informative.
Useful and Fun 5/5
This app is good for asking questions and chatting/getting to know the people on campus. Different people use it for different things so it’s a little disorganized, but it’s useful and fun. 9/10 would download again
This app bans anyone who does not take a hard-left political stance 1/5
People argue about politics all the time. This is especially true on this app. Students on campuses will bash anyone who is even a little conservative by calling them racist and sexist. While I certainly agree that the trump admin fits this category, it’s not reasonable to claim roughly 50% of the country is racist simply because they are Republican or conservative. I got 30 people reporting me for saying “conservative does not equal racist. Please treat each other with respect. You can have civil conversations without bashing other people’s beliefs.”
I got banned for this. I have been banned for about a month and a half now. I have messaged the creators 20 times over this time span. I asked them, “can you at least respond to me why I was banned?” And their response was, “you got banned because you were being disrespectful. You can certainly have an opinion, but you must keep it civil. I will unblock you within the hour, and hopefully you can behave.”
It’s been 2 weeks since then, and I have not been unblocked. Most of the posts are NOT emergencies. In fact, some posts are fake emergencies, claiming people aren’t students on campus, but who are actually just really tired and sleeping in the library. I know, because I knew a few of the students who were being recorded from HS. They DO study at the specified university. They are merely tired from cramming info for tests. Yet, the “emergency label” for these people would say stuff like, “BEWARE: this man is a known sex offender stalking women on campus. If you see this person, report it to campus police.”
The dude is a slightly autistic student studying history. They fell asleep in the library, and spend most of their time playing video games. Oh-and the guy is gay. He doesn’t even like women. But there existed 10 profiles saying they knew the dude. Either they’re fake profiles, or merely sheep herding around drama.
I’m still currently banned despite being told I would be unbanned. Most of the posts are political, and if you post anything ranging from a desire to moderate a conflict of die-hard leftists or rights insulting each other you get banned. If you’re a conservative= ban. If you’re a leftist, it doesn’t matter if you get 70 people reporting you, you’re fine, and will go 5 weeks without anything happening-and if something does, it’s a creator making a comment praising the post.
I’m a democratic socialist but I was raised by conservatives. I believe balance and civil conversations are necessary for peace. This is a app where leftists obliterate all contradicting profiles and posts, while dishing out labels such as racist and sexist for being even slightly conservative or requesting evidence of a specific political claim.
It’s basically an unpopular, non-profit version of Facebook, except the app censors non-liberals (of which I am one, but merely request centrist level respect).
Like Reddit for College Community 5/5
Like Reddit but more localized to your direct community and sphere of influence. Very well designed app. The owners of the app are very responsive to feedback. You can even text or call them!
Good App, but having a problem! 3/5
I like the app, but I’m having an issue opening it! Whenever I go to open the app, the Wildfire logo sits there to load like it normally does, but then the app just closes out to my home screen. I can’t seem to get it to work, no matter how I try to open it, please help!
Watch out for scams 3/5
This is good app but many of the post seem generated by bots and theres others post where people pretend to sell books, permits, iclickers, etc. Watch out because 99% are scams. If your going to buy something like join your university’ s facebook group or just ask a friend. I wish the creators of this app will fix the scamming problem.
Fun, but.... 4/5
By Yana Danielle
I can't seem to post pictures.... It's right underneath the campus chatter button, so I just end up clicking that. HELP!
Most useful app I’ve ever used for college 5/5
This app is seriously so useful I can’t stress this enough. It’s saved me money on textbooks and I’ve met some really great people on here to help with classes and college in general. I found people in the same major or same classes with the same teacher so panic befriending someone in class wasn’t a huge issue for me. Their main thing is safety which as a female I can really appreciate. Their app can get glitchy because it’s new, but the developers have literally responded to feedback and fixed the problem OVERNIGHT. Starting college for me was really hard for me with a super heavy load of classes and a job, but this app facilitates a campus wide support group. Without it I think I would have been depressed out of my mind or just wouldn’t have gone as far as I am today. Just download it and even if you don’t post keep it around for the safety feature
I ❤️🔥 Good intentions and good app 5/5
Having a platform to discuss campus issues and student life is an important part of college life. Wildfire is doing this very well by setting out categories and giving post prompts. Posts are indeed campus related and the whole atmosphere is positive. Votings are helpful and related to campus issues. This app fills the gap between twitter and facebook and surly did a better job than yikyak!
Decent UI but just seems useless 2/5
• Very basic menu.
• I got emails from the app even though I never signed up for them.
• Difficult to sort posts. Makes it hard to find worthwhile news.
• Can’t edit posts.
• Setup of interface is immature.
• Animations are nice.
convenient, inventive 5/5
such a good idea for an app. I get so much info and hw help daily. The UI is easy to use and quick to post.
Great App 5/5
I honestly love this app because it is like a twitter for your school. It notifies you whenever something is “breaking news” and is not overly annoying with notifications. It informed us students of what is going on at campus and allows us to communicate with others within the community. It’s an amazing app and totally worth downloading! Even as a freshman you’ll feel more apart of the school!
BEST APP EVER 5/5
This app is just super amazing! I love WildFire! It's gives me all my College news and answers all my anxiety filled questions. I swear the first day of school I was so nervous but I posted my questions on the app and everyone answered so quickly and washed my worries away. Whenever I have a question its the fastest way to get them answered. And people are so sweet, caring and amazing. I love it. I truly applaud the hard and amazing work out into it The aesthetics are amazing too. I really do love it. I can’t tell you how much I love this app. Truly. 💚
