Play by play 4/5
If you guys would make play by pay with Visuals such as your NBA/NFL one for College BB/FB ,hockey, baseball you would by far be the best app
Most news articles spawn ads 2/5
Finally uninstalled when I had 5 straight news article pages change to fake “you’re a winner” gift card scam pages on my iPhone. Annoying when I can’t seem to ever make it through a single article.
Without Equal 5/5
Very intuitive and user-friendly interface. Covers all major sports, and even gives betting lines and totals. Hard to believe it's FREE. This is the best scoreboard app in the store.
Why do I have to tap on more? 2/5
The article should pull up but instead you always have to tap on "more" to see the rest of the article
Not Great 1/5
Half of the time scores do not appear. Especially bad with CBB. Hate having to load ESPN but too often it’s the only reliable option. Don’t know what the problem is...you can look at yesterday’s scores and tomorrow’s matchups, but for current scores the page is blank. Very frustrating Yahoo!
Pretty good app with one exception 4/5
Periodically when you go to a certain sport to get scores or teams the screen doesn’t display any of the teams. I’ve tried refreshing the app and turning my phone off but to no avail.
Doesn’t load today’s games 1/5
Lately the app has been dropping the ball. It won’t load today’s games and just is a black screen. I hate espn but i May have to switch.
Needs Improvement 3/5
This app used to be the best. And it is when it works. Often the days games don’t load. Or they would load then disappear. It will show yesterday’s games, and show tomorrow’s games but present days games are always disappearing. Please, stop adding videos and other crazy features trying to compete with a competitor that really don’t have any value other than to cloud up a great app.
Once a great app now junk 1/5
Used to be great but now on IPhones it won’t load the scores when multiple games are playing. 6 months plus already. Sad.
Disappointing and offensive 1/5
App struggles to load scores when there is a lot of games going on, i.e. on saturdays during College Basketball season (that’s both on wi-fi and LTE). Also the comments under the “Recent Conversations” are extremely racist, vile and offensive. The whole section is totally unnecessary. I don’t need to see that when checking the score of a sporting event. Yahoo needs to do a better job of policing their users or just get rid of that section all together. It literally brings nothing of value to the “conversation”
Loved it, issues now. 2/5
I love this app. Especially because they show the Chanel of the game you want to watch. I’m have a big issue with seeing the games that are currently scheduled. Scrolling across through the weekdays, at the top, under the scores tab, the games aren’t showing up now. The other days of the week are showing up. Not the current day.
Used to be good. Not anymore. 2/5
By Waikiki penguin
Doesn’t load anymore. 2 months of this no updates nothing. Why yahoo ???
Problems with the app 4/5
I click to see the college basketball scores and nothing pops out. I do for other sports and you can see the scoreboard. I download the app again and it still the same. Don’t get me wrong, the I love the app but when you want to see the scores and it doesn’t pop out. You just want to delete it completely. 😕
Scores don’t load 2/5
Frustrating, but occurs frequently and updates don’t fix the problem.
Super slow start to the app, tv info issues 1/5
Damnn why do you guys have the 1st screen of the yahoo sports logo on for so long! Makes me not wanna open the app! Then why cant u guys show the tv networks the games are on special the National TV games on the page where it shows all the games instead of going to each game one by one. If these and i will give 5 stars!
Keeps getting worse 2/5

You had a really good thing and you keep messing it up. Pay attention
Broken widget 1/5
The scores and upcoming games widget is broken for me on the current version. Notes say it is fixed but no luck for me...
Falling apart 1/5
I've been using this app for years but it's in a sad state lately. For the last two or three weeks the widget has had no content except an "Unable to Load" message. For the last month, maybe even two months, team schedules have not shown any future games at all - they just end with the most recent game played. It's like this app is slowly dying and no one seems to notice.
Was not able to load in iPhone widget 3/5
Not sure if it is a bug, I was not able to load my favorite team’s schedule from iPhone widget by swiping left.
Widget doesn't work on iPhone 8 Plus 2/5
Widget doesn't work on iPhone 8 Plus. Says Unable to Load, and won't display my favorite teams. Even after removing the widget and adding back on...and reboot. Still no favorites in the widget.
Great app but... 4/5
Widget stopped working. CN no longer check from your lock screen your fav scores.
NASCAR Standings 3/5
Why after 2 weeks of cup racing are last years standings shown.
Widget is broken, but good content 4/5
Every so often, the widget breaks and says unable to load so I can’t see scores. I’ve tried editing teams, removing and reading the widget, and eve reinstalling the app, but no luck. Besides that, there is good content. Would like to have college hockey added to teams options.
Widget doesn’t load 2/5
Other than that, the app is okay.
Women’s college basketball and men’s college baseball 2/5
Ok, for Women’s basketball the in-game stats are just made-up...why?
Also-why no college baseball scores?
Need up to the minute sports news 2/5
By King Shabazz God Allah
Yahoo sports has produced a beautiful looking app. However when it comes to up to the minute sports news yahoo sports it really lags behind all other other sports apps. While ESPN gives up to the minute sports news Yahoo sports is usually hours or even days behind
Please fix the widget 4/5
Widget no longer working properly.
Otherwise, it’s my favorite sports app!

Thanks for spoiling the curling gold medal match, guys 1/5
Was in the middle of watching the US compete for their first curling gold in Olympic history when Yahoo sent a push notification that they had won the game. It’s impossible to find Olympic results on the app anyway, then they spoil a game that most people couldn’t watch at 2 in the morning? Not very happy with Yahoo right now.
Was perfect. But too much now 2/5
The app was perfect before the favorite team icons on the homepage. Doesn’t show the O/U after the game is over. Harder to navigate. Just changed too much from when it was perfect. That said, still blows all other out of the water...
NCAA MBB Scores never load 3/5
Your NCAA men's BB scores rarely load. Even when I close the app it doesn't work sometimes. When I go a day before or after it works. Fix bug!
By Chad bai
Why must they notify you of games that happened? Ever think that people want to video it and watch later. I just had to shut off all notifications from this app and I’m really close to deleting it
Widget doesn’t work now with latest update 1/5
Please fix this update so the widget works again.
1 BIG issue 3/5
Love the app but i can’t remember the last time NCAAB scores appear in a timely manner. Sometimes it doesn’t load at all. This usually occurs on Saturdays but not uncommon for week days to not load as well.
Try to check CBB scores. Current day’s schedule will not load. Happens all the time.
Almost there... 4/5
They still can't figure out how to add college baseball. Why?
By Sam Jacobss
I watched NFL complete season for on the app!! Thank you so much
Deleted during the Olympics 3/5
I usually love this app but I am deleting it because I keep getting alerted about the Olympics spoiling the surprise of things I plan to watch later. I turned off all notifications other than for my favorite teams but the alerts won’t stop.
I think this was wonderful. Now Yahoo! You have to get Olympic luge, snowboarding, slope, etc. so we can stream without the hassle of trying to log into the nbc app and getting trouble with provider. Also please get the triple crown of horse racing for streaming even if you make deal with network.
Stop already! No one wants a sports app that puts out stories with political agenda. You do so well with the sports information. Don’t ruin it.
Don’t bother 1/5
Yahoo could have the best sports coverage there is, but the nonsensical, click bait notifications and headlines make them bottom of the barrel. This kind of journalism is shameful.
“This woman just made Olympic history!” should be “(Woman’s name) sets Olympic record in (event).”
See? Not so hard. Aim higher. Rise above.
This app is a piece of crap. It quit loading college scores this year about 75% of the time. Every year it gets worse and worse. I’m finally don’t with this piece of crap
Rarely Work Right 1/5
Although it has the best design and layout of any sports application I know of, it rarely loads and when it does it like UNloads things instead of load them.
Scores won’t load!!! 1/5
I’ve contacted customer service twice in regard to the scores not loading, and this issue has still not been fixed. Just a blank screen and advertisement on the screen instead of what should be the daily scores being shown. This issue has been occurring for months, and continues despite routine updates occurring. This used to be the best sports app, but it has gone to sh**. Non existent customer service and piss poor app!
So annoying 3/5
I've used this app for years and lately it's turning into like a news app sending me push notifications every two minutes about stupid headlines in sports. Just show me the scores not shove sports news down my throat because a majority of the time it's a garbage notification that I don't care about.
Best Sports App, period. 5/5
There's a bunch of snowflakes in this review section who think everything is liberal propaganda. Ignore those people. They have no opinions about the actual functionality of this app.
This app is objectively better than ESPN in every single way. The customizability, the way ads are presented, and the way this app is organized. Everything is clearly presented to the user. You know what you're doing in this app at all times and understand what you are looking at. Regardless of whether or not the information presented to you on any given page is relevant to you, you at least can differentiate a score tab, from an article, to a video. ESPN and other competing apps lack that differentiation.
This app is customizable. That isn't a statement that can be made about most iOS apps. You can change the theme, the app start-up behavior, orders of how sports leagues are presented, and an extensive list of alert settings for each league and team that you follow. Stuff like that is much appreciated by average users and they are what put apps over their competitors. Being able to make an app custom to people's tastes are what keeps apps on people's phones for years.
This app also provides more information that ESPN and any other sports app provides. You can literally search for almost any athlete and find an entire page about their stats and news headlines. If I'm having a conversation with a friend about Aaron Rodgers' career or Jimmy Butler's rise, I can search up their page on Yahoo Sports and reliably trust that this app will present to me an extensive amount of information on them. You can do the same with any team.
This app also understands ads. The banner ads are color matched to the theme you choose and are unobtrusively placed on the tops of pages. ESPN has taken the liberty to just throw in hideous ads wherever they arbitrarily please. Presenting ads in a way that doesn't detract from the user experience does not go unnoticed.
Most importantly, this app development team understands the behavior of their users. They know people use their sports apps sporadically and quickly. Scores are presented clearly and concisely. Headlines are presented in short cards, similar to Stories on Snapchat. However, this app also has the depth for those looking to see extensive stats and information, or to read the entire article instead of the headline. Yahoo Sports also understands how to horizontally and vertically use "spaces" to organize information. For example, the NBA Scores page has scores, news, standings, and stats pages that can all be quickly reached with a swipe of the screen. Information on those respective pages are presented vertically, and with descriptive dividers like "live" for games in progress and "final" for concluded games. This app maintains that continuity throughout all of the app. Once you get the hang of this app, nothing surprises you, you know where everything is and what everything should look like. That is what a user experience should be.
This app provides unrivaled customizability. Not enough apps go out of their way to offer customizability. However, rarely does it go unnoticed and unappreciated by the user. Everybody loves the option of customizing a user experience to tailor their tastes.
I am clearly very passionate about this app and how superior it is to it's competitors. I can go on an on about little details that make it better than any other app. Don't waste your time with any other sports app. Yahoo Sports is all you need.
Simply the Best Out There 5/5
By Dusty McG
Do not let any bad reviews or unfamiliarity with the yahoo brand stop you from downloading this. This app gives you the the best organization options and total information available of any sports app, all in a beautiful user interface. It covers as many or as little sports as you want with plenty of customization. I use it every day and always will as long as it keeps getting better, which it has. One suggestion would be to add a "choose your conferences" option to the college basketball subset to offer a middle ground between top 25 and all Division 1, and always put your favorites on the top of the page, even if they are not top 25. All in all, the perfect app.
Great app 5/5
Good overall but plenty of bugs 5/5
My go-to sports app but article links have impossible ad pop ups sometimes and the “recent conversations” feature is downright terrible. It’s also strange that different NBA game box scores show different stats.
