My issue is mostly with the website since I’ve had more experience with that, but the app HAS to have been developed and checked over by the same people with the lack of quality.
I couldn’t log into my YTB account for TWO YEARS because the website had some kind of issue where it said my security questions were wrong. I couldn’t get ahold of anybody via 211; as claimed by the website, it should’ve been the way to figure out the issue with this. Finally, they did some kind of major update end of 2018/beginning of 2019 and suddenly, using the EXACT same information it said was incorrect for two whole years, I was able to log in.
What made all of this so much worse is the state either not sending the paper documents I’ve had set up for my account for years, since I first applied for benefits, or sending it late and giving me a RIDICULOUS deadline. I actually lost my baby’s health benefits last year because I was sent a paper that I had to fill out and send back, with them receiving it within SEVEN DAYS from when it was sent. It took four days to reach me, with the weekend just starting, and me not being able o use the website, meaning Monday would be too late.
When I finally COULD use the online options given by the state for renewals and such (including me renewing today), it was just a buggy mess. I would be told I couldn’t progress without clicking a certain option that wasn’t present anywhere on the page; I was told at the very end when I clicked for it to send the renewal in that it was already sent, yet it still wasn’t according to my account. I spent nearly an hour trying to resend the form several times. These are just a few of the issues I’ve encountered with literally all of the options offered by the state to deal with benefits. I don’t have transportation and live in a rural area, so going into the office for stupid things like these that could be fixed over the phone is out of the question.
My advice is to fire the people developing, programming, and quality checking any technological aspect of this entire program; fire the people who sent out the forms and create the ridiculous deadlines for these forms, and hire better people. I am extremely disappointed and a little more than irritated with the level of stupidity this entire circus called HHSC has reached, to be brutally honest.
This is a long-winded review and encompasses more than just the app, but I’ve had nobody to tell this to in years and all the issues in the world. HHSC has absolutely no way to allow people to give them feedback on these systems almost ever, so it’s no wonder it is in the state it is with a lot of these methods.

This app is great. It’s very easy to use, keeps all your files neatly organized and reminds you when things are due so that your benefits continue seamlessly.
It’s enough to know what’s going on with your case and a big help for sending forms that are requested. Just wish it had a little more options.
I can’t even get past the log in cause a glitch I’m frustrated 1/5
I have things to do, like set up my healthcare plan properly so I can go get an ultrasound for my child, which is what you guys were supposed to be offering here. What did I get? A glitch, I can’t even freaking log in to my account because after I answer my DOB and SSC I am proceeded to the next part of logging in and it says “answer these three questions, you only have one try” and yet...THERES NO QUESTIONS just a grey screen with that writing typed on the top, I closed out and re entered my information again. STILL NOTHING NEW, just the grey screen holding me back from getting my healthcare done. And worse I just got off the phone from the interview she should be calling me soon to see if I’ve uploaded my documents and when I have to tell her there is a glitch and I can’t log in, I’m sure we won’t be able to continue much of the process without it, then I will have to dip into my wallet, and spend money that a young mother looking for help with her healthcare shouldn’t be spending right now, just to get a ride all the way 30 minutes out to use the father of my child’s computer. I need this to be fixed because this affects everything in my agenda and this is supposed to help me not dig me further into my problems.
I receive notices on the message board that I have a letter I need to read several times a year, yet when I go to letters, there is never anything there. This causes me to worry and stress over what I may be missing or failing to do.
Also, I was notified on 3/26 of documents I needed to supply. I uploaded them the next day. Yesterday, 4/1, I received another notice saying I had until 4/4 to get them in. Again, what do I do? Did you not get them, do I send them again? I went through this last year. Mother was denied services despite the fact that all documents requested were received in a timely manner as verified by every person I spoke to on my numerous, time consuming but fruitless phone calls. I finally filed a grievance and things were rectified. I vowed then to do paper renewals, but those letters only arrive on Saturday and are due two days later leaving me no time to contact the businesses I need to get signatures or information for the enclosed forms. Help!!

I made my account to renew my Medicaid since I recently had a baby, HOWEVER the app is literally USLESS unless you upgrade to full access which I tried! Here the gag, I entered my info multiple times and this stupid app says “you’ve made a LIMITED access account, to create a full access account go to the manage tab and press yes” OBVIOUSLY I had just done that. THROW. THIS. RIDICULOUS. EMBARRASSMENT. THING THAT YOU CALL AN APP, AWAY!! Forgot to mention!! When trying to access my account on the app the second page to login where you answer question literally had NO questions!

I put my user name and passcode. Then it ask for birth date. Then it says answer these questions correctly BUT NO QUESTIONS EVER POP UP🤦♀️Texas benefits in general is soooo annoying!! I got approved already but on the websites it’s saying I have nothing registered🙄

I moved money from one bank to the other when needed. I paid off a dental bill of 2,000 to Care credit.
At the end of Feb. 2019 I opened a new account at MCCU with single signing and have dropped both of the other accounts.
New account is 0900001100805 and has all the money in it. It has received my SS this month.

This is extremely difficult for those who are not familiar with the process of downloading information.
For those of us who’ve never done this before you have to download one picture at a time which is extremely difficult because it is not user-friendly.
The information that is required and needed you can’t download all the information all at once like you do in a hardcopy application you make copies of everything in a hardcopy and you handed in or mail it
And I can hear you have to type other in order to hunt and look for your pictures one at a time it is extremely difficult.
Plus the information that is been taken there are several mistakes.
When a person is homebound and they do not have delivery of the United States post office to their house and they do not have transportation in the rural areas of Texas. There is no senior or medical transportation there is no food commodities there is no Internet except on a cell phone and who can afford to have dish. United States post office refuses and violates title 18 and 39 in public law for delivery of mail to the house and when you have a PO Box you do not get all your mail and you someone pick it up for you once a month. The request for Walgreens for prescriptions is extremely difficult I spent five hours and went through eight people in order to get the information and I still can’t because you have to write a letter to get a copy of your prescription drugs and co-pays and how do you mail a letter when you do not have access for a Release in order not to violate Hippa policy’s. The extreme hardship for over a year has been excessive and 211 is more concerned about quantity instead of quality. They have to have a quota of how many people they have to talk to. I was there and Austin Texas when they implemented 211 and give me having to go through the menus at Texas Health and Human Services is extremely difficult. It would be nice that a case manager could come do those of us who are homebound take our application and have a scanner to take the information of evidence of hardcopy material.
A severe overhaul needs to be done this is Extremely beyond hardship.
This is not about someone else doing it for you it’s about complying with the policies that are put forth by the legislators and in compliance in order to help those like myself. Thank you this is going to take me all day and week to get this done and month and year and this is what happens when we miss deadlines and it takes nine months and appeals officer and his state trying to straighten out a mess. There is no place on here on the application that I can be reimbursed for medical transportation going for to five hours across a ferry in Galveston.
I do not drive and when I have to go to Austin Texas I do not drive. Trip takes 5 to 6 hours to see providers in Austin also and nowhere does it say here how do you obtain those funds to pay the person for their mileage and gasoline and their time since January 30, 2018. For those who are text savvy or computer savvy my own mother who is a veteran never had a computer so tell me and the rest throughout the United States you are requesting help for services that have been approved by legislation from both state and federal capitals for those families that are disabled or seniors or any person or human should not have to go through this and I have testified in the department of bag on behalf of the veterans at the capital I have work in state and federal entities and implemented programs and this has become a living nightmare. When there are no services and went people request for us to come in to the office as you tell me how is that possible I’ve heard it all. Are those of us who volunteered our time and services to help everybody in this United States and state and county and cities most of the time the directors and CEOs and chairs never tell the truth when they’re just a fine so let’s get this application done it’s embarrassing it’s humiliating but those who are of us who have worked at those who could not work throughout their lifetime should never have to go through this. If I could I would walk into an office but in the old days many years ago they used to come to the house but I understand safety and that’s one of the reasons going into an Austin office you can’t imagine when you see children and I’m not going to go into detail because it was a horrible thing I saw and before you know it you have a mob and they were in serious violation carrying A fake weapon.
Not one of us should have to go through the intimidation of those sitting in the lobby when we are trying to receive services and they could have better and qualified protection.
I am not going to tell you all the things I should’ve done it’s a relevant and it is not our fault due to courts, health, Jobs, transportation, and politics. It is cheaper to not expand Medicaid or any other services or have Social Security under the bipartisan budget act of 2015 make you except Social Security benefits otherwise lose them. The Medicaid estate recovery act should be ashamed of themselves to take peoples homes but the states need to be reimbursed by taking one’s property to pay for the expenses of what they paid out to someone. The lady bird law makes it very clear. Probate law makes it clear another word you have to hire an estate lawyer. It is really a shame that we do not qualified because we can be $.10 over or dollar over in order to receive any services. And apartments you don’t have to worry about property. I was there when they pass some of those laws and with the horrible thing is we cannot deduct all the bills that we have to pay out and I asked for that in a committee meeting and when a director says that a single person gets over 200 and something dollars in food stamps and that is in the archives at the capital that is incorrect information when a person only gets 10 or $15 a month.

I’m very satisfied with this app! I can apply, renew my benefits as well as upload photos of documents and identification needed to complete my case. I receive all my messages in the message center and I can check the status of applications I’ve started and or canceled. This is so much easier than having to go into the office and wait all day especially if you’re like me and you’re disabled. This is an extremely wonderful app that’s very helpful and easy to navigate.

I downloaded the app to try and upload the rest of my info that was needed and when the app went to verify my identity and ask my security questions the questions won’t pop up on the screen so I can’t even use the app!

It is great that I can do all my paperwork from my phone although at times there are technical problems and I can’t open a link and it is really frustrating when I cannot upload a file when there is a deadline and my case is due or else I will lose my benefits. You should allow a given period of extra time so that people can get their paper work all in and in a timely manner.
