Love YouTube TV with Chromecast and Google Home! 5/5
We dropped cable/dish for YouTube TV. We have Chromecasts on all our TVs and Google Home Mini’s in each room. We also buy all our movies on Googleplay. With Google TV, I can ask Google Home to play the Sharks game and “boom” it’s playing on the TV. I can watch sports anywhere. I can listen to the news on YouTube TV while driving to work. I love listening to Game shows while stuck in traffic. Our family loves YouTube TV. Best deal on planet!
Good value...app needs work 3/5
I think the package offered is a good value. However, the app used via Roku is good but needs some work. The fast forward pre-view window is toooo small! I am happy with the overall experience.
Just cancelled 1/5
I travel a lot. Originally, I could lock in my home market and watch home news, sports, events from the road. Now it resets to where I am in the moment. DVR recordings cannot be down loaded to watch on the flights. So this is $40/month to watch tethered hotel cable on my iPad. Don’t need to pay for that.
Silky smooth. Great interface. Never crashes. I would give it 6 stars if you could navigate the channel guide (or at least view recent channels) while in landscape mode.
iPad app can’t maintain a stream 1/5
Inexplicably jumps hours back.
It’s driving me f’n nuts.
Google has enough devs to fix this, not sure why it’s STILL BROKEN.
Great app 5/5
By Asian Producer
I love the YouTube TV app as it lets me watch sports when I’m out and about, which is always. Picture quality is great and sound is clear. The only knock is I can’t stream the same channel on two TV’s simultaneously at my house when I’m having a large crowd over but I’ve learned to survive.
Great app but something is missing. 4/5
Works great and performs as it should.
I guess it would be tough to cater to everyone, but I wish it Comedy Central and a way to jump back and forth between 2 channels or minimize one screen while watching another.
This is my favorite streaming service, and I would switch to it in a heartbeat... except I have a lot of premium-grade FireTV devices, YouTube TV doesn’t support the most popular device on the market?
As soon as they do, I’ll switch, until then it’s FuboTV.
Still a few kinks to work out 3/5
Overall this is a killer app. On a fast internet connection, it’s easy to switch channels, fast forward or rewind, and the video quality is almost always great. I love the cloud DVR too.
I’ve had some issues with video playback jumping abruptly on both the app and on the web. When I’m watching NBA games (I have League Pass) with a delay, it sometimes skips to live without warning, or if the game is over, it skips to the “game has ended” screen and doesn’t remember where I was. Also, it’s really irritating when I’m blocked from watching the games of the local team. If League Pass blocks it, record the local broadcast! This problem is especially bad when traveling.
A feature I’d like to see added is the ability to adjust when a recording starts or ends. If a show starts a little before its time slot, I just miss the beginning, with no way to say “start recording two minutes early” like I can on a traditional DVR.
All that said, this beats cable TV any day.
Good value but has a few problems 3/5
I really like YouTube TV except for a very annoying problem they apparently can’t solve. They keep putting shows I watched back into their new in your library. Somehow they get unmarked and then reappear. Sometimes it shows the whole episode as I watched and sometimes it shows watched almost to the end. Heck I had 5 shows show back up tonight. I contacted UTTV several times and finally just quit because it just didn’t do any good.
Why keep it you ask? Because of my $35 price I say. I’ll put up with the reappearance problem and just use my IPad to remove them.
If they ever get this fixed I’ll give them 5*****.
Are u serious 1/5
By Jucy juce
Why tf did ya update. Are u morons just that dumb. Put seasons back instead of the stupid date. What senses does that make. U idiots
Works great 5/5
Streams well with 4G and never missed my favorite shows with cloud DVR. Hope you can download shows to the app at some point in the future.
Love it except... 4/5
Where’s local PBS? Navigation could be easier.
UTube TV 5/5
Easy to navigate. Great quality picture.
Very bug filled 1/5
By one of the boys
$40 bucks a month, it all pays for buggy service. Yeah, go ahead, cut the cord with YouTube. Lots of regular “updates “ leads to ..........more buggy service.
Sorry, I forgot to mention, they do apologize in app for crappie service. So, yeah, I feel a whole bunch better now
Not a huge fan 3/5
Although I’m still new to this app I’m disappointed that there is no TV guide so that I can look ahead and record shows. Also not sure why HGTV is not available and some individual shows like Kelly and Ryan. I also dislike the commercials that air on the recorded shows that I can’t FF through.
Awesome TV 5/5
By Big VinnieD
Dropped a competitors TV app for this one & I do not regret it. Best thing is all the sports channels offered in a way better HD picture. It is almost 4K in quality! Channel selection needs to change a bit, take a few out add a few others, but not a major issue for me. Price is cheaper than what I was paying & more channels offered. Keeping this unless major changes are made that affect what I watch. Please do not make any crazy changes like others!!!
I love it 4/5
Very happy with the service & programming and a great price.
Too glitchy! 2/5
Like the guide and channels, but it’s almost impossible to watch recorded shows. Jitters constantly, except during commercials, of course. Initial access is also touchy. Have to exit and restart to load programs. Looking for a platform that has less issues. Too bad. Thought YouTube would have mastered downloading content by now.
Hands down best streaming app 5/5
By L Hatt
Other providers don’t allow you to record series, or what local channels live or charge for more DVR space. Only downfall is no HGTV, Discover or MTV.
Amazing price and number of channels offered! Works well with our TV and on my iPhone. Very pleased to get away from cable/satellite and still have access to all the shows we want!
Enjoy watching 4/5
By Goodness #1
I love the app! Need to work out a few glitches. Sometimes the picture stalls. But overall I’m satisfied so far!
Good but misses the mark 2/5
By R J Dave
YouTube TV is probably the best combination of look and function but doesn't meet the social standard met by parent YouTube. I can't queue, create playlists, share or comment which would have been revolutionary for a live TV app. Instead they opt for a clean interface with limited functionality that performs differently across device platforms. Can't go beyond a few hours in program guide is perhaps the biggest flaw.
Best TV app so far. 5/5
I use this on iOS and Roku, the interface is easy to read for my elder relatives, personally I am watching much more TV than normal because of channels like The Smithsonian Channel and being able to record and watch baseball games. Thanks YouTube for including my fave channel Comet TV!
YouTube tv 5/5
I got on board YouTube tv early and have been pleased with the service have also had several friends get on board also , happy with everything so far and the continued addition of channels, YouTube tv has my vote for best streaming service to date
Charged for FREE TRIAL. 1/5
Was charged for the Free Trial. Representative I spoke to to fix the issue was honestly Unhelpful!
Why not do it right once and for all?? 🤦🏻♂️ 1/5

I normally don’t write reviews, mainly bc I don’t have the time, but when I do, is bc something is either very satisfying or extremely disappointing. In this case I’m writing bc of the latter. I’ve been with this service for about 4 months and up until about a week ago I was willing to put up with all the nonsense and shortcomings this app and service has to address. However, lately I’ve been noticing something that I am personally considering very intellectually insulting to say the least... Most people would not believe this or much less understand it but I got this service mostly to keep up with the news, mainly to listen to the news (mostly listening, can’t always watch, which is why I am hoping an update will add the ability to fast forward by 10,15, 20, or 30 seconds on Apple Watch soon) as I do when doing my personal errands or business errands that do not require my ears at a particular moment. Being an independent thinker and not a robot or another statistic from a liberal city, I like to hear all opinions and listen to all sides to reach my own conclusions so I listen to (and sometimes watch) news from the liberal news media (every news channel except Fox) and independent/conservative news media (mainly Fox). Lately, I’ve been noticing and (documenting) how strangely when I tune to the Fox News channel within a few minutes I get the connection error message but when I switch to any other news channel or any other brainwashing-nonsense-content from any other channel there are no connection errors 🤔
I hope this is a coincidence but I don’t know for how much longer I can indulge in this speculation 🤔
Most of what I was going to complain about is already said here it in most of the truly constructive reviews (some reviews are just vain praises without objective observations). Namely, the glitches, the skips, the incredibly annoying and infuriating no connection/connection error messages that make my blood boil when I have 300/300 with Fios fully tested and always verified before launching app. Certain crap programming channels work while other important and truly informative channels get the connection failure messages. Doesn’t make sense!!
If this was free it would have still be insulting but being that I am paying for this (and actually promoting it and getting people to cut their cable and jump on this) makes it even more insulting.
App has been updated, deleted, reinstalled and still the nonsense continues....
Not a number anywhere where I can call to loose some steam over this on the phone with someone, oh I forgot, we are at the mercy of the geeks and their tempo...🤦🏻♂️
Love this 5/5
Price is right, don’t pay for channels I don’t watch, can record programs, local news, easy set up, can go from my iPad to the Roku on a program and starts where I left off. It is a little glitchy it maybe that my internet connection isn’t the best.
Looking for an alternative for sling 3/5
By Wesley Brilhante
Well I don’t watch much tv etc but lately i been in bed a lot due to medical conditions and i had problems with Comcast so i for a period of time was using Kodi for watching ocasional tv shows etc since I’m stuck in bed but I’m always trying to do things right so i gave up on kodi for a while and switch to a subscription on sling but it’s not okay lately been lagging a lot and I have a fast internet connection 150mb so I been thinking about giving this a try but from the reviews i can see many of the problems I’m getting at sling right now so I’m not sure 🤷🏻♂️
Been perfect since it’s launch 5/5
Love the app and desktop version. Incredible interface and channel offering. Would recommend cutting the cable for this
Search sorting/filtering seems bugged in this newest update. 4/5
When I try to sort the videos based on the release date it no longer works.
Impossible to record shows on this broken software 1/5
For over a year, the “Recently Watched” column shows nothing but a movie I watched 18-months ago, and black squares with channels on them. Nothing happens if you click on them. If you pause a movie, you can’t rerun to it. It starts over, and makes you watch 30-second ads over and over if you try to skip ahead. It constantly loses picture quality, forcing you to adjust the quality again —if you can find it, that is, and click three-times fast enough!
Great Service but Terrible iOS Citizen 2/5
First of all I think YouTube TV is the best streaming live TV option out there. However this app has so many bugs and lacks basic iOS features. 1) YouTube refuses to support Picture-in-Picture on iPad and for reasons that are unexplainable. 2) The app has been updated numerous times since the iPad Pro 2018 came out and there is still a terrible bug where the home bar covers the nav buttons at the bottom of the screen.
Local Area stations not correct 2/5
“Area” Issues that no one can seem to solve. I love YouTube TV but I absolutely am exhausted trying to get my Local “Area” channels set to the correct city.
iTunes & Youtube TV need to work something out so this can be fixed without me cancelling my membership and then resigning up a month later.
Inconvenience like this really can hurt Youtube TV
Crashes constantly. 1/5
I love my YouTube TV easy to use I recommend to everybody you going to love it believe me
Less ads 3/5
The app is great but ads are everywhere
$40 a month should = 🚫commercials 4/5
For the price it should have 50% less commercials and it’s for that reason I debate keeping the app. However, it does work pretty seamlessly with my apple devices
Life Changing 5/5
I am in love! No wires, unlimited DVR, and so much more. If only the price could come come down this would be perfection!
No notifications 2/5
By Cool Hand Leukemia
Notifications do not work at all. I want to be notified when my favorite MLS and EPL teams are playing, but I’ve literally never received one despite having all the appropriate options enabled.

Gracias por todo
What a waste 1/5
Didn’t want it, still got charged for it
Must restart shows to finish them 1/5
I mostly watch Bravo shows and without fail, as the show is nearing the final 10-15 minutes, it abruptly restarts the entire show. In order to finish watching from where it restarted, you have to close the app and search for the show again and launch it. I am so sick of this. Apple, fix this problem.
Not great 2/5
App needs serious improvement. Constantly crashes and disconnects from Apple TV
5 stars 5/5
Love it. Best cable ever across all your devices. Never miss games or your fav show. I just think they should throw in a complimentary YouTube premium subscription to all YouTube tv customers 😉
Bug report 3/5
This app has a bug that makes old programs pop up during commercials of current programs. We need to close the program down and then re choose it. Please fix this!! It doesn’t happen on our tv
Buggy P.O.S. 1/5
By Dr. Mxyzptlk
If you enjoy restarting the app several times an hour YouTube TV is the answer to your prayers. See what happens is, you’ll start watching your show…and then after a while it’ll freeze for a minute and then suddenly you’re watching an entirely different show in the same network! Cool, right? Now, if you want to keep watching the show you originally selected you get to (*joy!*) restart the app, navigate back to the show you wanted.
But that’s not all! If you’re really lucky you’ll get to do this several times over the course of an hour program. The only problem is, if you’re not nearby to do the whole restart dance, say you’re watching on an iPad from the other room or your hands are dirty, you may have to just watch whatever random show YouTube TV chose to switch you to until you can get to the device and restart.
So as you can see, this app is EASILY worth $40/month. Don’t delay!
Note: I have an up-to-date iPad Pro; it’s not a hardware issue.
Very Good Service 4/5
I’ll never get cable again. YT tv gives you the reliable streaming you’d expect from YT. We have an older dumb plasma in our LR. I figured it was getting tired , but when I switched to YT tv with Chromecast device , the tv picture came back to life ! Couldn’t believe my eyes. Noticeably better quality than the degraded cable feed.
YT DVR works flawlessly , and lots of free movies available.
I’m not crazy about not having a look-ahead tv menu (if it exits, someone please tell me ) but all in all, we’re happy as heck with it.
Great App. Too Many Commercials. 3/5
This would be an amazing app and service, if it wasn't basically a cable DVR with excessive commercials that can't be skipped. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The pricing is also much higher than similar apps/services.
