Right as they demanded more money each month, the app totally stopped working on my Apple TV and prompts to log in are met with directions to download the app on my mobile device... I want to watch it on my TV through my AppleTV. Like I have for months and months now. What is going on???

This service is advertised at $49.95 per month with Showtime add-on for $7 more. When I attempted to subscribe the free trial was not included and the monthly price is $54.99 with the Showtime add-on at $13.00, a total of $11.00 more than advertised. Nobody is more disappointed than me to have to report that YouTube TV is trying to rip you off!

Works great! I love the unlimited DVR, however I think it’s a little pricey. I wish they would include premium YouTube or YouTube music with it. Especially since the price recently went up $15!
Of all the ones I’ve tried, this one I got the most for my money!!!

Ad Glitch 2/5
The ads are getting worse and worse. There is often a glitch with the ads as well. You finish watching a set of ads and it goes back to the program, then it spits you right back into another set of ads. If you lose your spot in a program and rewind or fast forward too far... you guessed it, another set of ads. I like the unlimited dvr but it comes at a price of not being able to fast forward through commercial sets.

After signing up for free week trial with YouTube TV, Apple requested I sign in when I tried to use app on iPhone, which also activated charge to account. After canceling subscription a few days later, Apple denied refund request. So much for intuitive customer-friendly applications. Anyone had similar problem and found successful workaround to Apple AI customer service?

Why is the app so far behind Netflix and Prime Video???
One of the biggest misses is that there is no progress bar telling you exactly what you have previously watched, Netflix and Prime have this feature. It is also a terrible experience switching between channels or returning to a show you have been watching. I am always having to close the app and restart it to move from show to show and to stream the show I want via Chromecast. If you pause a show do something different on your phone and return, often times the app won't remember you have paused the show and will make you start from the beginning or watch from live so you constantly lose your place. The basic navigation functions of the app don't work as they should.
What's worse is that it has been like this for 12+ months whilst they have increased the prices to include channels I don't even want. Get your act together Google and look at Prime and Netflix and create a stable, functioning app whilst providing more channel selection packages at lower costs.

Normally I don’t write reviews, I will this time. I was a beta tester for Directv now for 4 or 5 months. At that time Directv Now had no DVR service. It drove me nuts to think that a company the size of AT&T couldn’t launch DVR service the same time as their steaming TV service. I gave up on Directv Now because of a buffering problems, I was using a current 64K Apple TV. Isn’t funny that there was no app for the Roku devices at time I was a beta tester, that was a joke.
Then I switch to HULU, for a normal person HULU can be a very confusing app to get use to. The interface for there live TV was funky. You couldn’t select you own tv channel line, you couldn’t back up to prior channel, you had to start over again the top. To DVR a show wasn’t straight forward either.
I gave both these app’s 2 solid weeks of testing, I said NO THANK YOU to both.
Then I down loaded YouTube TV now, reason I hadn’t done this before was they didn’t have HGTV, they do now. Live TV is easy to use, you can place your tv channels in the order you wish, here the best part, the channels you don’t watch can be made to disappear when you choose customer order your channel line up. Unlimited DVR space for recording, the recording will disappear after 9 month, if you haven’t watch the recording within a 9 month grace period, something is wrong.
I am using a Roku ultra and 64 Apple TV, I have loaded the YouTube TV to both of these devices, they work great on both, 2 weeks of watching and DVR recording. No buffering problems, great TV picture. Going to cut the cord this week. No more surprise increases. YouTube TV is coast to coast, as long as I have internet connection, I am in business.

I was using the app and enjoying it. But, I was in the hospital for a month. Now I can’t open the app. No help found! I try to setup a new account and the response is, “ Youtube TV” is not available in my area”!! I’ve had it for 3-4 months. Frustrating!

Raised price with no warning from 39.99. Restricted access to the app unless I accepted the new price of 54.99. I have, MULTIPLE TIMES, then it makes me enter my zip code and then I just see an icon that spins and spins and spins and spins. First it demeans that I accept a significant price increase and now I can’t watch anything. Why am I paying more again? Also, why can I only mirror to Apple TV? When you sync on appletv, it says to download the app on your mobile device.
If you want to replace TV companies, enable customers to A. Actually use your services and B. Use on their device of choice (I have tried to get it work on a MacBook, iPad, iPhone and Apple TV, no luck). I give up.

...my issues with YouTube TV are growing.
Just now, went to watch an NBA playoff game, selected the thumbnail as always, and the POSTGAME SHOW is what starts to play! Thanks for the spoiler alert, Google! Not very fun watching a game once you know the outcome. I even restarted the app and tried to play it again, just to be met with the same incorrect show being queued.
Beyond that streaming pile of crap, I constantly try to watch games/shows while they are still in progress. Well, why bother popping up the option to "Play from beginning" or "watch live" when ten times out of ten, aka 100% of the time, my choice of watching from the beginning is completely disregarded, and I'm sent to the live broadcast, several times showing me the score near the end of the game! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks again!
And finally, the way you fast forward needs to be addressed. Tapping the touchpad (apple TV remote) and skipping forward 10/15 seconds at a time is annoying af. Trying to swipe with it is INSANELY over-sensitive. In other words, unusable.
Oh! Wait! Just remembered another problem! Have you ever tried to pause your show, quit to go do something, then pull it back up, and the timeline SAYS you're still watching from the point you've left off, only to realize you stopped watching at the beginning, and the show is now playing towards the end (from the current point of the live broadcast) and the fast forward and rewind functions no longer work and you've now seen the end of whatever you wanted to watch? I have. Far too many times to be acceptable.
YouTube TV, y'all need to fix this software because these kind of bugs and user interface issues are unforgivable for how much you're charging. Won't be sticking around much longer if this continues.

I can record all my shows and go back to them whenever I want.
That’s about the most important part of it all and I can, Watch it on all my devices...and keep only the channels I want to see...I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE YEARS THE MOVIES WERE MADE THOUGH, THEY HAVE GR8 DESCRIPTIONS OF THE MOVIES BEING SHOWN BUT NO DATE AS TO WHEN THE MOVIE WAS MADE, SO I HAVE TO GOOGLE IT, and just TODAY !! I see the upgrade doesn’t let me fast forward the shows I’ve recorded, so.
I can avoid the Commercials??!!! Now I have to sit thru 5 commercials !! ( way too many COMMERCIALS,,,too many to see the rest of the show...not acceptable......xoxo

Disappointing and overpriced 1/5
Well, I wanted to love this, but it is so expensive and so glitchy it is terrible. Live broadcasts often just jump back in time to previous hours on the same channel and it is so irritating. Definitely not worth the money.

I signed up for this app to try because it was offering a free trial. I’m currently seeking a decent cable replacement and thought this may be the solution. I signed up for the so called “free trial” and was immediately billed $54.95 to my account with an auto renewal. Terrible way to acquire customers.

Right now it’s really annoying to have the same partially recorded show always show on my home, but I cannot delete it unless I want to delete any future episode. My wife also hates this as she only wants to record some talk shows not every single show.
Other than the horrible dvr set up it’s been pretty good.

Awesome service. Long-term customer. Very happy for the most part, however there is a long standing bug YouTube must not care about. I’ve reported it several times in different ways.
- Start video on iPad.
- Begin Airplay to _AUDIO RECEIVER_.
- Watch video on iPad with sound from receiver. Fine.
- However, when second episode begins a screenshot watermark covers the video.
- You have to stop airplay,
- select a different video,
- go back to the first video,
- and restart airplay to get sound on your external speakers again.

Of course. Why would I think Google would simply accept my money without mounting a data mining operation? What complete bullpucky.

Despite the steep $54.99 a month pricing 😱🤮, I decided to give YouTube TV a try.
After a few glitches setting-up the account, things went fairly smoothly -- until two hours into using the app, I tried to change channels.
At that point, the app quit and required me to resume the entire login sequence.
No big deal, right? Well no!!!
Why? Because Google, in its infinite wisdom, designed the app so that's NON-COMPLIANT with Apple's iCloud Keychain!🤦🏻♂️
That means users have to navigate through multiple screens to manually enter their unique login name and password EVERY SINGLE TIME this buggy app crashes or restarts.
I appreciate security, and the value of my time, so this amateurish security design and implementation is a deal-breaker.
I should've known better than to place faith in Google... 💩💩💩💩💩
Monthly Subscription Charge Price Increase, or able to watch shows for free! 2/5
I’ve used Apple TV for 6 yrs and YouTube TV for 2.5 yrs to download shows from Bravo, Hulu, HBO, AMC, FX... all which individually charge $$ monthly to gain access through YouTube TV as my Tv provider.
YouTube TV (which was once of no cost) has been charging $40 a month, has just notified me via email that my YouTube subscription will increase to $60 a month!
Normally, I would not be upset as YouTube TV has worked very well for me, but in consideration to the fact that it used to be free and that I have to pay additional monthly charges, which vary in price range, to have access to HBO, Showtime, Bravo, Hulu, my YouTube TV subscription charge in total will be over $100!
For that price I could just get Xfinity by Comcast or some other TV provider that will provide all those shows for free.
I think it’s ridiculous that they raise their price it’s not fair because you do not have free access to the other channels and you constantly have to re-authenticate through YouTube TV because it does not stay consistently signed in.

I was a subscriber to Direct Tv Now. AT&T’s service has gone up in price several times. So I switched to YTTV. It has a great interface and content. Wish it included HBO. Very disappointed with sound quality. Live tv is only in 2.1 sound. Needs to be upgraded to 5.1 at least. No Dolby Atmos support.
