    Have high speed internet but struggle to get 720p on Apple TV 4K. Other apps will support 1080p streaming such as Twitch. App on phone and iPad consistently has issues.

    I thought I was getting a free trial. I received an email saying I had been charged $39.95. I tried to cancel and get message that I could not get a refund. I’m not sure that I have stopped the recurring monthly charge of $3995. What a ripoff!

    Streaming is spotty. Video quality is generally poor and live streaming is an adventure when returning from a commercial break. Sporting events often restart at the beginning after a break and the only apparent solution is to restart AppleTV. Oh, and a free month costs exactly the same as a pay month if you use IOS.

    You allow background play on Android but for some reason want to punish your paying users for using iOS. I understand Google owns Android and are biased but this isn’t a free app like google maps. Which by the way is better on android but I am not complaining about that. I complain for YouTube Tv because we are paying for the service and background play is a very basic feature you decided to exclude for some reason. Otherwise the app is awesome, I canceled Directv Now for this and will monitor if you plan to bring background play. If not I am heading to Hulu.

    The channel selection is sports heavy. I’m not that into sports. There’s no HGTV, ID, etc... The price is just too high for such a poor line up. I like the YouTube interface & I would switch providers if the channel line up & price became commensurate. Finally, I don’t really like the name “YouTube”. You on TV aka the tube... like boob tube... look at the boob on the the tube... IT’S YOU!

    Incredibly overpriced for the selection of content and the advertisements are more annoying than cable. I seriously had no Idea I was paying $40/month to watch just as much advertisements as content.

    Last update is blocking all shows. Except live TV? I want my $40 back! I thought sling TV sucked but you guys haven’t figured it out either. Now the sound doesn’t line up with the video more than 2 minutes. Painful to watch.

    I gave it 1 star because it wants me to turn on my location before i could watch my showson the phone!!! Turning my location on my phone really drains my battery!!! This is really dissapointing.

    I’ve been using this for 4 months now, and compared it with quality from Hulu. I generally do not have issues with buffer at home at fast internet at 1080p. The streaming quality is pretty good over 3g when I’m stuck in my car too. I have two main gripes. Fist, of you leave the Apple TV app running on the same channel without interaction for past 3 hours you’re likely to hit a playback error. This should really have an auto retry mechanism. Secondly, live sporting events (World Cup, post season baseball, etc) does tend to have issues with stuttering, buffering, and quality. Twice in the World Cup, YouTube tv’s entire service went down for 1-2 hours. It’s not a huge deal, but you sort of expect google of all companies to get this sort of thing right.

    update 10/20/18: I’ve used all of the streaming services and cancelled my Sling subscription a couple of months ago. YouTubeTV has a better channel lineup, less buffering, and a better dvr. Thank you for adding split screen, but I would really like to see PIP added, as MANY others have suggested. I also wish that YoutubeTV would start catering better to non-sports fans. Recently it seems that Youtube is only adding sports content. I really wish that i could opt out of such programming and get comedy central, MTV, and HGTV instead. I also appreciate that YoutubeTV acknowledged the service issue it had this past Tuesday, and offered subscribers a week free service to make up for the disruption. feature requests to bring up to 5stars... 1. More control over dvr recordings. Including: option to record single episode, new episode, series. Ability to delete recordings. Option to protect a recording, so that it doesn’t get deleted, indefinitely. 1b. Recently, shows on my dvr that i have already watched, are showing up as new when the VOD version is released. This is very annoying and i cant find a way to mark as watched, without re-watching the episode and all of the added commercials. Please fix this. 2. Higher resolution streams, I am often surprised by SD and poor quality resolution while watching even on my Roku that is hardwired to my internet connection. 3. expanded guide to include at least a weeks worth of programming. Thanks! (original review, long....) I originally cancelled after the free trial because of lack of device support (Roku). and limited channel selection. Decided to try again, now that TBS and TNT are available. I had fios for years and other than the price was happy. I’ve been using sling for the last year and other than excessive buffering and a limited (although fairly sufficient) channel line up, i was satisfied. But for 5 dollars more, I’m hoping to have a more stable service and an expanded channel line up. So far I am pleased but there are some issues I hope will be addressed. FYI, I watch mostly on my Roku and a Roku TV, and on my ipad when away from home 1. As some others have requested, I NEED a way to select favorite channels, so that I can filter out unwatched networks. I would settle for being able to organize networks by order of personal preference. I don't watch sports, and its frustrating having to scroll through countless sports networks to get to my watched networks. On that note, I wish there was a slim package w/out sports... 2. As others have requested, I wish there was way to record new episodes only. Honestly, it just makes it more difficult to find the episode I'm looking for, especially for shows in syndication. I dont need an unlimited dvr... 100-200 hrs would be sufficient. And, I would rather shows be kept indefinitely. 9 months is ok, but until deleted, would be better. 3. The auto play is extremely frustrating. I’m trying to catch up on newer episodes of the Big Bang Theory, but after watching a single episode it keeps switching to other shows... we should be able to turn it off or be able to set it up to autoplay by series, by favorites, or by suggestion for those adventurous enough to allow youtube to choose for them! 4. There doesn't seem to be a way to start watching where you left off. or it just isn't working properly. Again this seems to be a Roku issue. A choice to “Resume” or “Start over” would be helpful. 5. I really would like a way to utilize ipads multi tasking, so that youtube tv can be minimized when i need to use other apps. 6. Last suggestion, for both Roku and ios App, it would be helpful to be able to get episode info without starting playback. When I’m trying to figure out what i already watched a concise synopsis would be helpful. Thanks for reading!

No boxes and I was able to download the YouTube TV App to all my Samsung TVs so I didn’t need Roku or Apple TV boxes. Perfect...

    The “Free” trail, isn’t free, waste of $64, thanks, YouTube. Don’t get the free trail. It’s not free. Also YouTube TV itself isn’t even that good. A lot of channels are not even a little close to the best quality (Best quality possible should be available for a 64$ per month service). Also, YouTube TV adds channels you can get in HD completely free as a excuse to advertise more channels on the service. (Such as MSNBC, which could be watched on the MSNBC app completely free and in HD). There is also ads if you want to watch movies and TV shows. I mean, the price is ridiculous and you only get a little more than 60 channels. Just get Sling TV if you like watching live. Not only is it cheaper, it’s just better. And the free trail is actually free on Sling. EDIT: I ended up getting a refund for the free trial, so I’m adding a star for actually

    I Love the YouTubeTV I have been using it since June 2018 For GREAT price of 44 bucks I get 64 Channels this includes local ABC, CBS,NBC and Fox as far as I know the other streaming competitors do not do this they may have one or two of the local network stations but not all four. I also love the DVR service so I can record and watch what I want when I want and Ive never been notified of over use of DVR you cant beat that YouTubeTV has the ESPN core Channels and NBA MLB BigTen Network Just check out the Channel line up of the others along with the price and I think you’ll be happy with YouTubeTV

    Stupid that a live TV app goes and copies Netflix by pausing LIVE TV! To ask if your still watching. It’s annoying when Netflix does it so YouTube though hey? Let’s copy them so people will inevitably stop paying for our service cause they have to deal with the same bs....

    I am very sorry unhappy and it looks like they just billed me for a month? I can’t figure out how to change and will contest the charge. But until Youtube tv offers, ID, Nat Geo, GSN. You am calling card service to take this card off Youtube! Unhappy. Update: To be fair to YouTube TV, I did go over the 7 days. So, I was willing to pay the month. Someone read that I wasn’t happy. They refunded my month’s cost. At least they said they would. They had scooped some money from my iTunes account to go with a partial payment from credit card. Who does that? I expected them to take all from card. They, on their own volition, refunded everything in my iTunes. Why Apple has anything to do with Google, I don’t know. To sum it up: I hope they fixed that incessant bug where commercials would play until about 7-8 seconds left and freeze. Someone else mentioned that. When channels like ID discovery and DIY , GSN are available I will look somewhere else. Someone took care of me. I will give YouTube TV another look. It seems they want to build a great product.     We got YouTube TV to untether from the high cost of Direct TV. It regularly won’t load on on our iPad/iPhone and Apple TVs. The level of support available to troubleshoot issues is next to nothing and very frustrating. Despite “logging in” with the appropriate account it won’t load and takes us back to the “try it now” page. Ultimately had to resubscribe this time and will have ended up double paying. I will dispute the last month we had the service due to this issue. I am VERY disappointed and won’t recommend this service to people until the log in issues are resolved. VERY FRUSTRATED. In fact this is the first review I’ve ever written on the App Store due to the absolute inability of this app to recognize the account we have.

    Everything is great about it, except for the “try it free” thing is a straight up lie. I wanted to try out multiple services before I decided on one. Imagine my surprise when YouTube went ahead and took $42 dollars out of my account. So instead of trying it for a week and then deciding I guess I’m paying for a month and then never coming back.

    The live view needs help. You can only see what's currently on. Even if it's 9:28pm, you can't tell what's coming on at 9:30. This means you can NEVER see anything from the beginning unless you have it set to record. Which means you never see ANYTHING unless you already know what's available before it comes on. This is horrible!!!! It almost negates the entire purpose of the service. It's makes the service nearly useless! It's so bad that the best thing you can do is to see that something you like is half way off, THEN set it to record, PRAY that it comes on again some time in the future. I want to scream it's so bad.

    I understand that this is a relatively new app and concept... But YouTube isn’t exactly a brick and mortar trying to break into the online game. They also aren’t a mom and pop barely paying the bills to keep the lights on. So when you offer things like lie listing customization, and all it does is let you spend your time customizing only to NOT saw any of it anywhere.... SCREW YOU. Tried it on the app, error. Went online and did it, same old menu with a drop down that says “custom” but that option is greyed out and is unavailable... even though you just spent 2 minutes customizing the list. Of course how could it saw, there is not even an option to “SAVE” on the customization screen when you are done. Basic b*itch rookie bullsh*t. Also, shows that record hang up and you have to click several times to get in and then all of a sudden you’re in and it’s frozen or locked up. And if you a have a FireTV, you have no option of getting your YouTube TV unless you download a 3rd party browser. But have no fear, once you do you can watch the top 3 channels on your live list, because you CAN’T scroll. By don’t worry, remember you can customize that list so at least it’s not their choice of the top 3.... OH WAIT, see the first BS problem I addressed.....YOU CAN’T!!! Again, what are you guys doing?!? Why would a company BORN ONLINE, with endlessly deep pockets charge you $40 a month and NOT have their SH*T together?!

    Upgraded from using TiVo and an antenna which I could never get consistent reception from and I love it. Some slight buffering starting shows but perfect picture and love the unlimited dvr. Once a show goes on demand you have to watch google commercials but overall a great option for cord cutters. I use a roku ultra to stream threw. And my wife is able to figure out how to use it so it isn’t techie.

    Absolutely superb service. Finally a reasonably-priced option for cord-cutters w/o contracts/commitments, fee/surcharge creep, or typical dismal cust svc; all of this w/ the convenience of YouTube’s interface (backed by Google’s massive nationwide data center & network infrastructure.) 5 different accounts are allowed (w/ separate settings, preferences, and cloud DVR content) with up to 3 simultaneous streams. App is still a work in progress - little things like misreporting the name of the next auto-playing title can be a little annoying; but also a few bugs slightly more serious, i.e. occasionally losing play controls on the mobile device screen once a cast is initiated, forcing me to kill the app, reopen it, but then all is well (the stream is never interrupted.) But even w/ these quirks.. it’s still a very intuitive and enjoyable interface. And seeing how hard they’re working on bug fixes, etc. with the extremely regularly app updates (at least on iOS, I’m confident they’re soon gonna get it as close to perfect as possible. After all, they have the talent and resources of GOOGLE for Pete’s sake... so it’s only going to get better, and very quickly too, if I had to guess! I can’t say enough good things about this amazing service... and Oh yeah!! Their Customer Service and Tech Support are just a joy - so refreshing to have such a friendly, helpful, polite and responsive team to talk to when you need help or have questions. Plus, for now at least and in my experience, they seem to be all U.S.-based too! That’s icing on the cake :D

    This app was OK at first. It is way overpriced, in my opinion. After a couple of weeks of use, the app begin to hang up consistently. I tried updating it, deleting it and adding it back. When I finally decided to cancel my subscription, they said that it would be usable until my next billing cycle. Within an hour of canceling my subscription, the app began experiencing “technical difficulties” that never resolved. Pretty lousy and I am definitely glad I cancelled. Keep your money and try Sling. I haven’t, but I hear good things about it.

    I've been trying to get this to work on my iPhone, all I get is a blank white page. Said it would be 39.95 got charged $52 for it to not work at all. Will be requesting an immediate refund. DO NOT GET THIS!!!!!!!! I wouldn't even give it one star.

    I love the concept, and I love to cut the cable. The flexibility of putting a TV anywhere in the house has been awesome. Just not sure that the solution is ready for prime time. Sitting now for 30 minutes with a playback error on save show, and actually can’t even watch any live shows right now.

    Update October 2018 - app became very slow to load content and unreliable with network, their network... Update your resources Google! Please redesign this whole layout and UI. This scrolling is NOT IMPRESSING anyone but only makes it annoying to QUICKLY find what you looking for. Bummer!

    I’ve been attempting to run this on an iPhone and on an iPad. The iPad version in useless. Starting it results in a never ending “Finding your home area...” message. So on the iPad the app is useless. On the iPhone all channels are marked as “This network is unavailable because we can’t determine your current area”. Both the iPad and iPhone are on my home WiFi. My TV with Roku on the same network does not have an issue. Therefore the app is the problem and not my network. Support: I spent hours with support as they did everything possible to make the problem my fault and not there’s. I am not a novice- far from it- but I patiently tried everything they asked me to do as I calmly explained why what they had me doing was folly. It was obvious that they were following a script with little or no understanding of what they were asking me to do. Eventually I was passed to someone who arrogantly told me that they would work on the problem and contact me when they had a solution. That was about 5 weeks ago. Silence is what I’ve gotten. For The iPhone problem I’ve concocted a work around: I begin recording the station on the Roku app then a minute or so later I begin watching it from my library on the iPhone app. Unfortunately this is of no value on the iPad because I can’t get past the looping “Finding...” message. Update October 16, 2018 The app is now working correctly on both the iPhone and iPad. This occurred with no communication from the vendor. I have changed my rating to three stars to reflect my disappointment with support.

    I don’t have a problem accessing youtube tv on any of my rokus, tv, phones, or ipads. I live inlouisiana and went on vacay to florida and was able to use the app and get their local stations. There are too many commercials and recorded content show be commercial free or option to skip ad. Sometimes the ads (6) would loop for a second time and then there’s 12 commercials back to back. It’s frustrating. I don’t like abc being on demand only because it takes a while for new episodes become available. Volume is too low on shows then blasting on commercials. Recording should have more options like only new episodes so you wont have to go 50 law and order svu from 10 networks that it airs on. I will probably try the directv now app for the free trial and see how it is. It is limited on how many live streams can access but we’ll see...doesn’t hurt to try

    As much as I enjoy watching TV on my iPad in the bathroom whole I’m getting ready for work, it is in no way worth $40 a month! That’s just ridiculous. Also the reception is interrupted very often and you have to wait for it to reload or catch up or whatever it’s doing. I would love this app for $3/month, no more.

    Customer service is horrible. Give you wrong area news access. Mistakes with billing. Never have I been so frustrated. Dealing with incompetence is why YouTube TV will be it’s own worst enemy, worse than any negative review could impact them.

    Tried Sling and PS Vue and found YTTV to be, by far, the best. Very smooth and intuitive UI and very little buffering issues.
