The app needs to be available on all smart tv’s 3/5
I gave it a chance and I love the concept BUT I can’t stream onto my “smart tv” without having to buy another device just for this app, which defeats the purpose of buying a “smart tv”. HELP! I want to use this app on my tv too!
Love it 5/5
Love YouTube tv
Wish I had cut the cord long ago
iPhone interface issues 3/5
The app does not allow iPhone to beam to smart TV (mine is LG brand), while YouTube can. On the program side, I can’t find a straight forward way to look for a program guide
Money has been taken out of my account and YouTube TV will NOT play. I've tried everything. I started the free trial and it was fine, it seems that as I soon as I was charged (which I was totally fine with because I originally was able to watch everything I wanted and was completely satisfied) it stopped working. Who do I contact to refund my money? I have all the info to prove it was drafted from my acct.
Love this app! 5/5
When you don't have a TV or just want to watch on any device without having to sign in, this is a great help!
Best. Choice. 5/5
Don’t look or try out anything else. Just get YouTube TV. It’s amazing. It’s easy. Greatly quality. Go ahead. Hit the button and subscribe.
Impossible to use Apple Touch Remote 3/5
By Reid C.
Some things work fine in this app. Others are bloody impossible.
Normally scrolling uses the touch remote works okay but in some menus not.
Trying to watch World Cup and in my recordings it jumps straight from “about” to “upcoming” sections. I simply cannot land on the middle section which is my actual recordings. Using the Apple TV remote or my iPhone as a remote. I spent 2+ minutes trying to move my finger on the touchpad the precise number of mm to get it to work but no luck.
Also, there’s no “get rid of the goddamn menu and go back to the live program” button. Once you open a menu it’s impossible to get back to the show.
Needs iPad Picture-in-Picture 2/5
Good channel selection, intuitive interface and DVR, and excellent search and recommendation system.
However, it needs to support iPad picture-in-picture and multitasking to get more stars. I switched from PlayStation Vue and generally think the YouTube TV app is more polished, but this is a big missing feature.
It's the bees knees 5/5
YTTV is awesome.
Forced ads on DVR 2/5
DVR is generous, but only so they can force more unskippable ads down your throat.
Channel selection is great for the price, but the interface on Apple TV is unbearable. Constantly fighting with it to ty and skip 10 seconds back/forward. Very laggy, and lots of errors.
No support for basic features on iPad, like Picture In Picture, or split window.
No info when watching sports - seems to me a total waste to go to TV on the internet and NOT take advantage of it. Sports should have live scores, stats, player cards, box scores, etc etc.
Overall, it’s not worth the price. It’s extremely basic and the forced ads are enough to make me cancel. On top of that, it doesn’t offer more than my crappy cable company does, and it’s not even cheaper.
I love it but... 3/5
By Bebe Taisy
Ever since the last update I have been unable to cast the app in my tv. I though it was my phone, but the YouTube app is still working and also I noticed the same problem with another iphone in the house. It is exasperating.
Far better app that directv now and unlimited DVR 5/5
Easier to search, browse through channels, make dvr record request. It’s the most expensive tv service though
Idea is great - but loaded with errors 1/5
Use this on Apple TV, and not one time without a channel not showing, you can hear the sound but no image, or it freezes up. Messes up in some way every single time. It’s to the point where I may have to go back to cable.
Love service but app is buggy 3/5
They do keep updating which sometimes causes and sometimes fixes issues.
June 4th update claimed to have added new local stations. When I sent them an email asking what the stations were because my channel lineup had not changed I received an email stating that they did not add any new stations and that was an error.
June 11th same thing but support claimed Telemundo stations were added. I am just making sure they are not trying to deceive.
This is a far superior tv service to Hulu tv however I have to restart my phone and chromecast several times a day to watch stuff. Now more frequently. I enjoy the DVR, guide, movie selection, and not having to pay for Comcast very much! Best service maybe ever, but I can't give it high stars because it's an App rating. I frequently have to disconnect and reconnect to chromecast just to unpause and then I loose my place. It's frustrating!!! The guide needs work in letting you see what's on next. It's impossible to read about other movies or browse because the app starts what page you're on. Other then buggy iPhone app issues, the streaming quality is great, they keep adding channels, customer service really does try, and it the app is easy to use. The unlimited DVR sure is motivation to stay with this service and for the price it's certainly beyond worth it!
don’t download it’s not free it’s $39,99 month way lie deleted it 1/5
it’s not free it’s 39,88 month
Not quite there yet.... 2/5
As with most things google, it’s just “unpolished”. It’s missing must have channels such as History a Channel and Food Network, yet has an over abundance of sports channels.
Hulu TV has these channels, but doesn’t offer the free cloud dvr. That’s ok.... free dvr is a joke really, so I’m jumping over t Hulu for content that makes sense.
I get why you would want Youtube TV as the pricing is a HUGE plus but you have to be ready to loose some of your favorite channels. I also feel like their movie selection is saddening as there are never movies that are popular.
Support for setting accounts, changing accounts, removing accounts!
Great but... 4/5
It’s a great service just too expensive for me right now. There is really nothing telling me to give $40 to YouTube instead of the cable company. I did experience some major league lag on commercials but other than I would get this if I could afford it.
Annoying ads...subtitles are out of sync 1/5
Please fix the subtitles and less ads please
Unreliable and low quality for 2018... 2/5
You get a lot of 720p channels, moderate lag at times... and occasional freezing. Sometimes, streaming just plain out crashes. Tried this on my iPhone 8 Plus, iPad Pro and also airplaying to Apple TVs, similar results. On a 300Mbps connection that streams 4K totally smooth over other services, this is somewhat disappointing. Need at lease reliable 1080p! Added a star for ease of cross platform integration.
Cord Cutter’s Delight 5/5
Began subscribing 4 months ago. Excellent graphics. Super easy search and unlimited storage is nice. Of course we are still about 3 years until it will be seamless to cut the cord but Google have made a giant leap for mankind ... well or something like that.
Continue watching option 4/5
No continue watching Option
Needs to be better for what We’re Paying 3/5
When this first came out I added it because it advertised being able to watch football live which isn’t true. When a live football game is on it only allows you to stream on a computer or tv which defeats the point of why I got this app.but 😢🤦🏽♂️💆🏽♂️
I was getting ready to end my subscription but you can watch basketball and NHL so I was watching the finals and got to see my CAPS finally take the STANLEY CUP !!!
Please get the rights to stream nfl via the phone and this is a 5star app. Watching football anywhere on any device.
Rubbish service 1/5
The BEST TV App EVER!!! 5/5
It’s everything I could’ve dreamed of from a TV app at the moment. I’ve been able to dramatically increase my entertainment consumption simply because of the efficient & intelligent interface, as well as the world-class content available.
A definite 5/5 Stars!!!
Ok. But needs a lot of work. 2/5
It works pretty good, but I want to add channels, and this app doesn’t let me. Plus, I don’t get any pix11 Yankee games (sorry if you’re not a Yankees fan......... but I am). I would like to see pix11. I also want to see how I can add more channels without paying for them. Otherwise, you’re better off with cable TV. That is whatever cable or satellite cable you have.
It must be free, why pay???? 1/5
By Mr. Sanu
Those channels are open and mandatory free (air tv antenna)....!!!!!
Not as advertised 1/5
By try again google
The app works well on live tv. Once you begin to use the dive function things get pretty bad. Nearly every time I fast forward or rewind it results in a complete shutdown off the app by simply freezing with a rotating circle icon. The happens across devices ex. iPhone 7 samsung TV etc.
Great app! 4/5
By Daniel Marica
I like this app. You can watch your favorite TV channels anytime, anywhere. You have all the important channels: CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, The CW, ESPN.
Now I can watch NFL, College Football, College GameDay, NCAA Basketball, MLB, NHL, NBA without relying on the home cable. This is great!
Great value!! 5/5
Much better than Hulu
Connection issues 2/5
Will not connect to my chromecast, while my Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube apps all have when casting to my tv. Some bugs to be worked out I suppose
Can we watch the World Cup?
Best app! 5/5
I love this app and don’t miss having cable/dvr at all!
I appreciate this version but I could not watch back the live streaming, there is no record to watch back later or from resuming. It has needed to keep a few days or a period.
I definitely love using this app. Cable without the cable company and no extras for DVR. I’ve had YouTube TV for about 6 months and we love it. Definitely keeping this. :)
It works great and my phone is basically our remote to watch tv. I’ve been confused a few times and need to disconnect it from casting but overall a great experience.
Never watching tv through another medium again
Don’t do it!! 1/5
The Apple TV remote is a joke! YouTube tv is completely insane to try and navigate and there are no tutorials to guide a new user through the process of finding or managing the functions.
More networks 4/5
You guys should add all the good networks like MTV , VH1 , NICKELODEON, EVEN INVESTIGATIVE DISCOVERY! It’ll make it way better :/
The iPhone app frequently experiences slow connections. The app constantly drops the connection to my Apple TV and Chrome Cast. Sometimes when the paid advertisements end the app skips to the next tv show/movie that aired even if not in my library rather than returning to the correct show.
Some shows have paid advertisements that cannot be skipped and some are the broadcast advertisements even on the same network or sometimes different episodes of same show.
The best way to watch tv 5/5
The app is seamless and easy to use, and it makes watching, saving, and rewatching tv headache free. The content you get along with the free cloud storage can’t be beat.
Hey, is any of these channels included gonna stream the Fifa World Cup??
Latest App Store download ‘broke’ my Chromecast connectivity. 1/5
Latest App Store download ‘broke’ my Chromecast connectivity. What’s up with that? My other (non-updated) YouTube TV app works fine but my updated phone no longer “sees” the Chromecast in the device list. Will update rating when a fix comes.
Channel lineup is nice, app is a bust 2/5
No full screen pinch to zoom on the iPhone X! Enough said, I’ll try u guys again in the future when this is fixed
I downloaded cause the advertisements said it was free tv well that quickly turned into my credit card info I already have cable. So this app was very useless if you thought it was free
YouTube Tv 4/5
By bro jc
I like YouTube Tv just don’t like to have the gps on this to play it cause then is like staying at home just to watch I like be anywhere and watch my favorite movies or shows
Chrome cast on iOS is terrible 1/5
By Ft food
It frequently gets “lost” and I can no longer control the TV
So far so GREAT 5/5
I have used the following... PS Vue, Direct Tv Now and Hulu tv. My thoughts are that (so far) YouTube tv is the best. DTVN and Hulu are absolutely terrible/unwatchable very often because of buffering/sync issues when watching live broadcasts. Add to that, DTVN Has a limited ability to record all shows... they say it’s in beta.
For my my money it’s YouTube. (I running it on a Apple TV 4K).. if the service changes I will alter my review. For now its great!
Just missing one thing 4/5
By Pro videographer
Needs a program guide so you can look ahead to what’s on on each channel and set the DVR to record the programs you want. REALLY REALLY NEDS THAT.
Seriously, YouTube? 2/5
By Kitty cat Pegah
I had this service for a week, and I loved it. Then all of a sudden I’m trying to watch the series that I was watching just yesterday, but they aren’t arranged into seasons anymore. In stead of seasons, the episodes are organized by date of RERUNS, so there is no way to watch them in the right order. What happened all of a sudden? Why did YouTube mess with the good thing about this service? There is seriously no point to a on demand streaming service if the episodes of the show you watch are randomly selected.
